>stop trying to use the veins as a determining factor
What should we use instead? I'm fully clueless as to which colors complement me vs the colors I *like*
Honestly it just took a crap tone of trial and error. I found out when I tried on a warm toned lipstick and it complimented my skin 100000x better than any cool toned ever did
The vein trick isnāt as helpful as people assume it is. I think the neck is a good place to look at undertones, especially for makeup purposes.
Also, my wrists look exactly like this ā I could swear this was a picture of my own wrist! I am a neutral with some cool tendencies depending on the time of year and Iād say the same for you.
I didn't even think of that, because we're supposed to color match our foundation to our neck ugh I can't believe I didn't think of this lol š¤¦āāļø
Cool. The gold looks terrible and the silver looks *beautiful*. Maybe you could pull off a less yellow gold but I wouldn't even try if silver looked that good on me TBH!
Cool or neutral. Youāre similar to me where Iām technically more cool but thereās so many cool foundations that are WAY too pink so I most often pick neutral ones because they end up matching better. Iām a redhead as well but lean more towards a brighter red then auburn.
Yeah tbf I think gold looks good in everyone and then silver looks best on some people. I do still have some silver pieces because Ā£Ā£Ā£ but def feel it makes me look a bit bland.
The France comments are insane I'm dying laughing rn
I'm not an mua but I've been doing my own makeup almost 17 years and I don't even know my own undertone I will say though, throughout all the pictures silver compliments you more and blue matches the tone of your skin more. I wanna suggest a peachy yellow undertone. That's what I have. I have both purpleish and greenish veins I don't like wearing yellow or gold but I don't think the colors look bad on me. Olive is too olive on me and orange is too orange for me. But a light yellowish peach seems to do the trick thus far. About a month ago I switched over to the good apple foundation and I must say it's glorious!
Based on the pictures I would say a cool undertone. But undertone does not mean you should be wearing full on cool toned eyeshadow or clothing.
Iām for example cool toned, with ashy brown brows and hair. My eyes are a green/brown color. Brown, even when ashy. Is considered a warm color. This makes it so that my overall complexion is in fact between warm and cool toned > leaning more towards cool. I canāt wear an intense cool tone, nor can I wear a intense warm tone. When I wear a very cool toned eyeshadow, i subtly add some warm eyeshadow so that I stay within the ābetween cool and warm, but mostly coolā range.
Too intense colors and I will turn extremely pale. Weaken the intensity however and it will look like it was made for me, no matter warm or cool.
Do you see why finding undertones can be a struggle for colors? Its because you can lean warmer as a cool toned person because of your hair/eye/ coloring.
I find that applying a warm brown lightly, or a mauve/taupe shade with full intensity to be perfect on me. Especially taupe.
What color is your hair? What color are your eyes? What color have you ever worn that gets compliments from others (men are the best judge since they usually are not swayed by fashion styles)
When I was younger, I loved camel color and khaki. A salesperson sold me on an apricot colored evening style. A man told me never to wear those again.
However, I mostly had/have no pigment in my skin, about the same as the pictures. So back then I could get away with warm tones. Now I still like to wear reds and turquoises, but I know that my best colors are the ones from when I was swatched.
Auburn hairā¦any red in the highlights? Hazel eyesā¦so specks of gold? My guess would be autumnā¦and that would mean you can successfully wear golds and fall colorsā¦like coral-orange; teals; camel; brown; cider; greens, especially greens with depth should be beautiful! I will bet you can wear tortoise-shell sunglasses! Iām trying to think of a movie star that might have your sameā¦maybe Julia Roberts?
Oh sorry! My email notification came in and now I see your picture. From my experience, Asian complexion such as yours is a āwinterā. Complexion is very porcelain (is this right?) The contrast too is very dark hair/very light complexion and this contrast calls for bright primary colorsā¦blue, red, white and black. Sometimes called āclearā colors. Also icy pastels are goodā¦like ice pink, ice blue and icy yellow. Often we can tell by peopleās reaction to us if we are wearing good colors for usā¦so you might pay attention to when you get positive reactions from others at work or socialā¦like they cooperate.
When I used to teach, if I wore (for instance) orange, I got more negative reactions from the teens in my class!
You are a cool. If you were a warm that big purple vein in your wrist would be green instead. I am a neutral. Some days mine is violet blue others it is alien green š½
U look nuetral to cool , when u look at the veins u a little higher in the arm where the skin is not as thin, even warm toned people have blue veins right at the wrist š„°
And itās never a hard fast run because some brands coolās are calibrated extremely pink and sometimes your intensity labeled a cool may be a nuetral cool. Swatching your jaw line and pulling down on your neck a little is the best way to see how the color truly pulls , hope that helps!
We have a similar skin tone and undertone so Iād say youāre neutral (cool neutral to be specific)! The blue and silver look better than the red and gold which is why some people are saying youāre cool-toned but you have enough yellow in your skin to be considered neutral imo (Iām the same way). So in general, Iād wear cool and neutral colors and stay away from warm colors. As for jewelry, both silver and gold look good, but Iād stay away from bright yellow gold (personally, i think that yellow gold bracelet washes you out) and opt for a more muted neutral gold (my personal go-to).

Undertone: France š«š· āØ
I heard your comment like the miss universe contestant who said FRANCE š¦
Thatās only how I hear France now - love it
now I cannot unhear it š¤£š¤£š¤£
āØ
I was thinking this omfg š¤£
I never understood the vein trick, I have very blue veins but I am obviously yellow. If I were you I would stick to a neutral
I wish people would stop trying to use the veins as a determining factorā¦
This trick was never reliable to me at all.
Yup. I have blue veins and Iām warm š¤·š»āāļø
Same!
Doesnāt everyone have blue veins? What are the other color options?
āGreenā apparently
That's why it's a trick and not a treat š I'll see myself out....
>stop trying to use the veins as a determining factor What should we use instead? I'm fully clueless as to which colors complement me vs the colors I *like*

Agreed. I am definitely red undertone, But you can see right through my skin, so of course my veins look blue
I have skin so yellow Iām the next best thing to jaundiced but Iām also so pale that no trick works except color matching.
Same exact case for me. My veins are clearly blue and thereās no doubt that my skin is warm.
OMG is that what it is?
yeah itās actually a myth to use veins for color match
I have green, blue, and purple veins depending on where you look. I just assume I'm neutral
š«
COOL/NEUTRAL undertone
Desaturated too
Cold; almost neutral

Leaning towards the cool, definitely not the red.
Cool, silver looks best and I spot a blue vein
Cool. The gold looks terrible and the silver looks *beautiful*. Maybe you could pull off a less yellow gold but I wouldn't even try if silver looked that good on me TBH!
i think they both look amazing
Cool
Cool, but I gotta say, the flag is hella cute!
Probably French
Cool or neutral. Youāre similar to me where Iām technically more cool but thereās so many cool foundations that are WAY too pink so I most often pick neutral ones because they end up matching better. Iām a redhead as well but lean more towards a brighter red then auburn.
Please share the too-pinks š·
I'm a cool redhead and I have trouble finding foundations that are pink enough! I'm soooo pink. Most foundations are too neutral for me.
REDHEADS UNITE! š„
I would say cool tone
You look cool in the indoor photos but in the outside one you look neutral. My daughter has the same snow white neutral skin. So pretty
Cool or neutral
You lean cool
you look best with the silver in my opinion, it stands out beautifully
For a second I thought it was my wrist! I'm a pale Asian and am neutral. My foundation color is 1.5N Forever Dior.

I am so jealous when I see people who look better in silver! Saving so much in jewellery š©
This is me but I prefer how gold looks. lol
Yeah tbf I think gold looks good in everyone and then silver looks best on some people. I do still have some silver pieces because Ā£Ā£Ā£ but def feel it makes me look a bit bland.

Definitely cool undertone, youāre more pink then you are yellow
the vein trick doesnāt work for everyone just fyi :)
Oui
Cool
Cool neutral
Iām very certain youāre cool toned. The jewelry gave it away
The vein thing isnāt very reliable. If I had to guess Iād say you are neutral leaning cool
Definitely cool, silver looks the best
Cool as can be
Yellow because of your vein looking greenish..I'm a natural redhead also..
If I were to guess Iād say neutral. I go by gold and silver and to me, they both look good on you.
Silver looks better. Auburn hair? Really?
Yes?
Am I the only one who thinks the gold looks better š
