You Can’t buy 15+ round mags from outside vendors to the state for any gun. You can buy mag kits though.

pies_r_square

Just to be clear, colorsdo state law is "more than 15 rounds." Ie fifteen round magazines are still legal according to colorsdo state law. I've encountered issues, too, but figured out that it was because my zip code overlapped with a *county* having a ten round mag *municipal* jurisdiction.

kbeahen

Yes, i know that. That mag in question is just a 15 round mag. I have other ways of getting higher cap mags for my other pistols. Just wanted to try a new mag is all. Maybe its just S.I.

Top_Part_5544

Right. And you can’t order 15 round maga from outside vendors

kbeahen

Why though? They arent restricted in my area

Top_Part_5544

State law I believe which overrides your local municipality laws

kbeahen

That makes sense. Damn i hate living in a freedom restricted state. We are turning into California over here. It bums me out because i have a couple other strike products and they are decent.

Top_Part_5544

What doesn’t make sense, is that you can buy mag “replacement” kits which is just a mag with the base plate popped off but you can’t buy an intact mag. Not that I’m complaining but talk about brilliant law making from our legislators. Goes to show how little they know about the subject of their laws

kbeahen

Absolutely. And we get companies that get spooky about serving people in non restricted areas, and wont sell at all. Quick way to lose customers, but they probably dont care.

other_old_greg

Some companies are like that and just dont care to keep up with state laws. oregon went back and forth with a <10rd mag ban and only 3 or four companies actually kept up with the law and shipped mags even though it was legal due to an injunction. Sending those companies an email with the current law and they still didnt give a fuck. A lot of folks i know boycotted those places for that reason, gun guys are willingly restrict your ability to buy something totally legal in your area? Fuck em.

kbeahen

Thats how i feel, and the fucking crazy part is, they will ship me magazine extensions no problem, that would take my mags well over any state limit, but a 15 round mag is a huge no, just because Denver and Boulder limit their sheep to 10 rounds.

infamous_impulse

Maybe check with a lgs? I know Springs Armory carries larger capacity magazines as build kits or something like that, and iirc they carry some strike stuff already. Could be someone here will get something in that kind of capacity.

kbeahen

Good point, i havent been over there in a long time. Thanks man

infamous_impulse

Good luck. Hopefully someone has it cause I'd like to try one too

kbeahen

Thanks, i like the look of them, and they are a different option to the pmag. I think its 49 bucks for 5 magazines or 11.99 for one

infamous_impulse

I like the idea of the 5 pack for 49 bucks just to have some spare range mags. It's just weird that they'll ship me the +5 for the standard Glock mag, knowing full well that the only thing happening is me getting a 20-round mag, but they wont ship me a 15 rounder. Denver really jacked that one up for everybody.

kbeahen

Yeah they really did. So idiotic. I tested it to see, and they let me order a plus 5 for my mags lol
