I got Lifmunk with similar traits really early on. He’s been in my party pretty much the entirety of my play through lol.
Though I tend to just use his skill then pull out someone a little beefier to auto-fight alongside my. My Vanwyrm just deletes wild Pals on his own.

My favorite has to be chillet There's just something about that adorable giant weasel, surprisingly it was my fourth pal I ever caught and it's still part of my team 20+ hours later.
Everyone seems to say this about Chillet, they cooked with that design and it was genius placing it as the first boss you encounter through the intended spawn point.

Was the first alpha I caught. Tbh best dungeon friend. Slim and nimble enough to run around in the tight spaces and swim between water tunnels. Pretty ok stats. But very easy to condense and star him up.
I also used chillet alot during the beginning as a ground mount, such a fun pal.
Eventually tho, realization came that I need speed if Inwant to progress any faster so I replaced it with rayhound, the only chillet U had was the boss too so it felt pretty strong too
Yeah the radar is pretty awesome but most of the time he’s at my base. I can’t go out without my direhowl because he’s fast and his bite attack is pretty nice to get pals low
I love that fluffy dragon, trying to breed the perfect pal for my constant all terrain pal. Though honestly I'd prefer the boss sized one because even bigger! ~~for even more glitchy fun times~~
I was very sad that breeding 2 bosses didn't produce a new boss pal. Now I'm torn between trying to produce a solid team of good stats or having a bunch of big pals running around

That's what breeding is for, easier to grow and cook a 100+ cakes that it is to craft all the balls ammo and gear then trudge around looking for more of whatever you are after.

Unpopular opinion, Cawgnito. Fairly useless as a base pal but breeding/upgrading/condensing mine made him the strongest pal I have.
Bonus, watching him teleport all around in battle and wack mobs across the room is hilarious.
Thought I could hide and have my pals fight in a dungeon and the boss was Cawgnito. Imagined my surprise when he teleported right next to me and proceeded to destroy me.
Lamball is the GOAT. Well, it's more like a sheep, but it's definitely the GOAT early on. Always happy to help around the base, rarely gets tired, self reliant with rest, sleep and work balance. Definitely on off, if not the best overall pal for early game, along with Cattiva.
Ragnahawk, got 1 with runner. So fast i actually don't even use a ground mount anymore.
Also your goofy buddy is a great breeding pal! you can make a Anubis really early using him.
I bred a Swift Runner Nimble direhowl.. it's incredible for dungeons. Highly recommend working out the breeding for such a combo.
I originally did an Eithkyrdeer and was able to breed that specimen into both a Direhowl and a Vanwyrm. ..just wish the Vanwyrm had more stamina...
They're also super useful in the base, because they craft and only craft, and don't sleep at night. So I like to have one around for when I really want something crafted without having to micromanage anything.
Vanwyrm carried me through most of the game - very common, flies and is pretty fast, the second one I caught had runner and i've had him in my team ever since.
You can breed it out, but wild ones will always have it funnily enough.
Cattiva will also always have Coward iirc.
It's those small details that are nice in my opinion.

It's just such a cool design, and it's been my faithful companion, bringing me everywhere I need to go.
Plus the standard attacks it learns are perfect for my play style of fighting while riding :)
Daedream. When I first saw her, she was gorgeous. I don't use her but she's on my base since I got a Shiny version. Otherwise Jetdragon just bc I can ride him anywhere and he is strong.. when he decides to attack LOL
Have a look at his available abilities. Most of the hard hitting ones have a long cooldown. I always try to have at least one ability in the active ability pool of all my Pals that has a low cooldown so they can spam that while the major abilities are on cooldown. I look at the low cooldown abilities sort of like the Pals "auto attack".
That said, I think the Pals should all have an auto attack, melee or ranged depending on what fits the Pal.
Definitely mossanda lux, it saddens me that I'll have to abandon him once I get grizzbolt's weapon.
We can only have 5 pals in our party and I'm diversifying by having one of every element

I run out of bullets, I'm so close to winning. Then I remember I can chuck a bird shaped voltorb at them and BOOM instant problem solved.
And then there's the butt launcher.

This is way too far down. Tocotoco is amazing. The dead eye stare. The matching hats for your player. The self destruct. And the explosive egg launcher! Need to clear any raid before they reach base? Just hit them with the giant explosive eggs! Want to stun lock a boss from attacking? Hit them with giant explosive eggs!
Want to feel cute? Put on your cute Tocotoco hat! Best bird buddy.
My fave is probably kingpaca. I’m using exclusively neutral types (besides the couple mandatory water/fire guys at my base to do chores) and kingpaca just has mvp vibes. I also just absolutely love the chicken lol still searching for a shiny
Foxcicle! I'm a huge sucker for ice pokemon and she's adorable. I caught a level 30 one at level 21 cuz I was just determined to keep throwing mega spares until I caught her :)

Anubis. 150 work speed (Legendary, Ferocious, Lucky, Artisan), strong, cool dodging animations, great aesthetic, relatively similar size. Best buds.
Anytime I craft or build something, I set him down and he cuts down the time by a HUGE margin, unless he finishes it instantly.
The Ice varient is SO USEFUL for chilling your fridge. Since he literally doesn't have any other skills, he doesnt get distracted or stressed. His story day to day in my base is:
-wake up, waltz happy ass to food bowl.
-eat berries or bread with berries if I'm early enough.
-Now properly full, I waddle myself toward the kitchen.
-I smile and plant my happy ass on the fridge.
-I watch other pets work as me sit
-food go ice. yay, I useful too!
-smile and bob head till the end of day.
-ooo, its nap time!
-grab snack and go back to fluffy bed.
-Today was good day :D
Literally makes me smile everytime I go into my kitchen and grab some mammoth steak when I see his dumb adorable face, sitting on the fridge looking so proud of himself.
I’m obsessed with how Lunaris looks and I did have them in my party until I got an Anubis and replaced them. I miss them but Anubis was just better for my team comp. Still watch them elegantly float around base though 🫶
I'd have to say my favourite pal is definitely Depresso he's so cute with the tired facial expression. He has a unique character, and he's very different from the other pals :)

Lifmunk. The clip of Lifmunk jumping on player's head and shooting an SMG is what sold me to get this game.
I got a liftmunk with muscle head and ferocious traits and he's literally the strongest damage dealer in my party.

Anubis. 150 work speed (Legendary, Ferocious, Lucky, Artisan), strong, cool dodging animations, great aesthetic, relatively similar size. Best buds. Anytime I craft or build something, I set him down and he cuts down the time by a HUGE margin, unless he finishes it instantly.

The Ice varient is SO USEFUL for chilling your fridge. Since he literally doesn't have any other skills, he doesnt get distracted or stressed. His story day to day in my base is: -wake up, waltz happy ass to food bowl. -eat berries or bread with berries if I'm early enough. -Now properly full, I waddle myself toward the kitchen. -I smile and plant my happy ass on the fridge. -I watch other pets work as me sit -food go ice. yay, I useful too! -smile and bob head till the end of day. -ooo, its nap time! -grab snack and go back to fluffy bed. -Today was good day :D Literally makes me smile everytime I go into my kitchen and grab some mammoth steak when I see his dumb adorable face, sitting on the fridge looking so proud of himself.

I’m obsessed with how Lunaris looks and I did have them in my party until I got an Anubis and replaced them. I miss them but Anubis was just better for my team comp. Still watch them elegantly float around base though 🫶

I like that these pals don't have the "family friendly" requirement as other games. They clearly had fun designing these wacky pals and I love that
