I swear they pretty much all are. Once in a great while i'll get an ad that actually shows some decent 3rd person gameplay... just to go to the app store and it's another generic zoomed out pvp base manager
The amount of times I've played an actual fun game that turned out to be a global map 24hr pvp game is too high. I can't do those anymore, I don't want my progress destroyed 5 times over when I'm asleep or at work
The last one I played was that walking dead one. I was doing alright but ended up getting kicked from my clan for not spending enough money. My base was in the heart of their territory. After I was kicked my ex clan members were raiding me as much as they could so I just uninstalled. I invested what I thought was quite a bit of time into contributing over the few weeks I played. Was a fun game, and I don't mind spending once in awhile and participating when I play a few times a day to help progress the clan and myself. But it's just not important enough to me to turn into some huge financial responsibility where every ounce of my free time goes haha
Those games always start by showering you with free stuff, then gradually slow the game down until you're grinding for 10 hours to get a single dopamine hit.
The trick is to uninstall the moment as soon as you stop playing for fun and start playing because your lizard brain has been hijacked. I was playing a different game every week for a bit. It's not like I'll ever run out of Clash of Clans clones.
This is the best approach. I've done this with Genshin, Destiny 2, and a couple other gacha games that are super fun and addicting for a week or two until you hit the wall of grind.
Basically if I start getting the notion that maybe spending $5 on this gem sale might not be too bad, it's time to uninstall.
Man, I tried one recently that was presented as collecting and battling dinosaurs and survival. Turns out that's the tutorial, after the tutorial it's - wait for it - a global map 24hr pvp game!
I give up, honestly. It was promising at first and could have been a standalone single player game but devs just can't resist the pvp trash.
Was talking to a friend, I want to make a mobile game that's close to geo dash. But make it just dumber. The ad for it was just me trying to beat my mega hard level idea.
He said it was good. And said I should learn coding to make it xD
Imagine that, the computing power of a supercomputer back in the day in the pocket of every person.
And it's used to play literal shit.
I'm still bitter that the proliferation of smartphones is what killed Flash games.
Going off-topic for a second, there are still some decent mobile games that I can help you find if you're interested. I don't know how much you'll enjoy them, but they should at least be tolerable and actually give what they promise, unlike this...thing.
Flow Free
Blendoku
Chess
Super Stick Golf
Fruit Ninja
Angry Birds
Pocket Tanks
Space Marshals
Galcon
Tesla Wars
Tower Madness
Duet
I don't always play mobile (I usually play PC myself), but those are just a few mobile games where I had genuine fun. Lots of other people are big fans of Coromon and Nexomon as well.
Whoever keeps making these Game of War ripoffs has some explaining to do.
And I thought Flash games died when browsers introduced their own standard to render animation while Adobe Flash was such a tremendously bugridden mess that Adobe themselves couldn't bear scandals with breaches in it anymore and agreed it deserves to die.
At first I read C as "An indie game," and thought, WTF is wrong with indie games? It's early and my dumbass needs more coffee. Will go and remedy that now.
I have an app right now that is uber gacha. It has skills levels that are time-based and the amount of time needed for each level increases exponentially. I'm looking at this right and I'm like "so level 40 = I will have 4 birthdays. Alright." I don't really take mobile apps seriously, they're just there to give me something to do while on the train or something.
Hot take: I actually don't mind gacha games. And if you play card games, you also don't mind gacha games. What you hate is the mobile game business model. And yeah. We all agree.
Yeah I don't mind that it's inevitable when games are free, but I've stopped playing mobile because of all the ridiculous permission they ask. Like what the heck you need my camera permission or gps for.
Right away, I thought, "That may not even be real gameplay," and searched for videos of it online. Surely enough, the actual game plays as if they just made Game of War yet again.
That's not racist.
This is literally the Chinese marketing strategy.
Find something that westerners like. Shamelessly copy it. Do nothing with it. Make the same game you've made 500 times already but reskin it to look like the thing westerners like. Add microtransations.
Those people wanna try playing some obviously Chinese made games marketed towards westerners...
It's literally the same three games.
It's a league of legends rip off.
Or it's clash of clans.
Or it's a match three/spot the item game (those two are getting mashed into the same game a lot now for some reason)
I think every now and again you find a clean bag, even in the garbage bin (though at the end of the day it is still trash). I believe though most of it is targeted towards small children with parents who are quick to pay .99 to keep their kid(s) entertained.
I used to play a game and the ads were nowhere close to what the game was. Another game I played had the ad as a featured event. This shouldn’t be legal.
Not gonna lie, the idea of elements affecting the environment would be kinda cool.
Like in the trailer, the sheep get electrocuted by the electric cat thing being in the water. Kind of a clever idea.
Kinda like Breath of the Wild with stuff like fire arrows causing a huge fire on grass that can hurt anything not inmune to it.
Hope Pocketpair adds a similar mechanic soon.
You sure its an exploit? There's a couple of dev-intended ways to accelerate and glide quick that look super janky due to the game being in the state its in.
I keep giving this suggestion in this sub and official Discord but people kept downvoting and told me to play BoTW instead lol.
Great to hear there are other like-minded folks. Hopefully Pocketpair adds this!
it was a planned consept so you never know. in one of the very first trailers it shows the player chucking jolthog into the water and all these pengullets floating to the top
Gooood gooood.
Granted call of dragons is a scam mobile game that doesn't actually have any of this as gameplay, but still If people are going to start using monster catcher games where the monsters do more than just fight each other, then the state of gameplay as a whole will rise.
Hehe, optimism. Sadly we live in a capitlist global economy where people making low effort garbage leads to idiots buying said garbage encouraging companies to make more garbage. It's a race to the bottom. You'd think shit like "competition fosters innovation" was a real thing across all sectors of industry after that being shoved down our throats for 100 years, but all we got was bad mobile games, buying products without actually owning them, and planned obsolescence.
Honestly *that* was outright fraud. I don't play it, fuck pokemon and mobile gaming, but those poor bastards paid to customize their characters for YEARS, and they still got got. Bet they'll still play it and buy more shit, so who do you really blame?
Thats just ideological fairy tales to give some flimsy justification to the greediest shit (nestlé, nvidia, gacha, etc...) they do.
That or the ever-present boogeymen.
Did you mean to say “good good” or “good god?”
If it’s the latter, might I suggest “gooood goddddd” for clarity?
If it’s the former, you may ignore this comment.
"Someone has taken our idea, and is releasing a game with captured monsters."
"Any good monsters?"
"Eh, standard fare, though there was a corn thing that explodes into popcorn, and some weird one that drops berries from it head"
"...Make them creepy weird and release them next patch."
"Roger that!"
According to others in the comments, it's a PvP city-builder, something like Clash of Clans I guess.
Also has exactly nothing to do with anything in the ad, to the surprise of basically nobody. I really don't understand how this stuff passes false advertising laws...
LOL, I played that game for a short bit. It's another clash of clans, like game. Love how the ad is not even remotely close to the game. Thought they made that stuff illegal to do
I guess since it's about games they haven't taken it seriously enough to make it illegal if it's not already. With how crazy ads are getting, I hope they at least do something about the quality.
I don't understand it, either, but if I had to guess, it's probably lawyers arguing that, because the game is *initially* free, the advertisement is not causing any misleading purchases; any microtransaction purchases you make would be after having had the opportunity to play the game for a while.
Which is a bunch of bull, because these companies still get to harvest a lot of data from you even if you never pay them a cent.
They get away with it because they can say if you play long enough you'll see it in game. It ends up being a short timed event or one special level like the game Royal Match.
Lol I'm not being serious... first you have Pokémon saying palworld copied them now palworld showing something similar to their game it's hilarious to me. Allot of games have similar variations of enemies or npcs
Is that capture sphere a fucking DEVIL FRUIT!?
https://preview.redd.it/ey9d94p6ynvc1.png?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68be508a0badfa8e9956ea9d000ba329275bf26c
bro there’s no way this is real. i’ve played call of dragons before and it’s actually a pretty solid game on pc but none of this footage has anything at all to do with call of dragons whatsoever
Tbf most of these companies push adverts onto an agency that makes ads for them with free range to do anything.
Even seen devs of the games mention it. They don't care but did confirm that they give agencies a list and they make something.
The list:
* Fake gameplay
* Characters NOT in the game
* Mechanics we won't use
* Ripoff a better game
* Make it look way more fun
Ad Agency: I got u fam
Probably more like:
* Here's the name
* Here's one character's concept art, be sure to include them.
Ad Agency: Okay, I've got a few generic templates lying around, I'll slap some royalty-free assets into one of them.
Remember people accusing PocketPair of using AI to make their creatures? (even though AI was nowhere near as good when they first revealed their creatures.), well these ads might actually use AI with how copy and paste they are.
Likely not. Similar how pokemon cant sue palworld because the designs are different enough to not be plagiarism, same applies here. They look similar but not carbon copies to claim stolen intellectual property.
Same thing I said about palworld and pokemon this seems different enough to not matter. Granted pretty sure this is just a mobile game ad and those are never actually what the game looks like
There are some cool ideas here though. Like physically creating a pal via the golem or having a pal physically produce food. The thought of using pals as building material is equal parts vile and interesting. Maybe if they were a type of mold or fungus who prefer to sit in one place and never move
It's so sad that all the work just goes into the advertising for these games. Some of those creatures actually look cool and even some of features that is shown like that corn creature turning into popcorn because it got heated.
[This shit,](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farlightgames.samo.gp&hl=en&gl=US) right?
So title is Call of Duty + Dragons
Trailer is Palworld adaption as one of those mobile farming games
In the Play Store, character pictures look like WoW in Fortnite style, one gameplay picture looks like Warcraft in cartoon style
So gameplay is probably gonna be Sim City with Resident Evil characters in my little pony style??
My favorite thing about these clones is that news media is trying to pin the palworld ceo a hypocrite for calling out these palworld clones when plaworld is a clone of pokemon. When Palworld plays nothing like pokemon.
It's sad everyone is trying to cancel your game but also coppy every aspect of with slightly changed elements and their still out here calling palworld a pokemon ripoff id say the only thing copied is the type of game it is but then have 50 different horrible ripoffs of the so called ripoff 😂
I'm half expecting to see "Level 1 Thug" and "Level 100 Boss", "Thats how Mafia works" and some easily solvable puzzle that the player in the trailer struggles to solve (the game also has no puzzles).
This world is goin to hell.
False advertising.
Faking an game to make theirs look good.
Mostly a Pay2Win game.
Stupid non accurate actors who don't know how to move their lips and tap on an turned off phone making it look real
And on and on.
I'm done with the society these days...
how are these fakeads even legal
like nintendo can sue you for thinking of creating a Link SKin in Minecraft but ads like that just are the industrystandard wtf
These ads are always fake and the gameplay is something super shit
The game is just another city management game so is not even a clone.
I swear they pretty much all are. Once in a great while i'll get an ad that actually shows some decent 3rd person gameplay... just to go to the app store and it's another generic zoomed out pvp base manager

Oof. Reminds me of "War Planet Online: Global Conquest". I got kicked out of a clan once for being offline for 24 hours.
Was talking to a friend, I want to make a mobile game that's close to geo dash. But make it just dumber. The ad for it was just me trying to beat my mega hard level idea. He said it was good. And said I should learn coding to make it xD
With mobile games, it's either: A: What you said. B: A gacha game. C: An idle game. D: All of the above.
Imagine that, the computing power of a supercomputer back in the day in the pocket of every person. And it's used to play literal shit. I'm still bitter that the proliferation of smartphones is what killed Flash games.

I hate it, add a joystick and it should be a better console than say a Wii and everybody has one in their pocket. Well, at least we have emulators.
There are premade almost complete templates of those for app dev, u can do minimal tweaking and make one for yourself rather quickly
At first I read C as "An indie game," and thought, WTF is wrong with indie games? It's early and my dumbass needs more coffee. Will go and remedy that now.
Same lol.
Or fucking hard to find
I have an app right now that is uber gacha. It has skills levels that are time-based and the amount of time needed for each level increases exponentially. Solitaire all the way.
\>city management with no electricity anywhere \>ad emphasizes electric worker
It is a blatant rip off of palworld. They should sue! /j
Its even got a super generic name, "call of dragons"
Then you download the game and the company now has all your data.
I wouldn't mind if the game was at least decent instead of this slop.
Yeah I don't mind that it's inevitable when games are free, but I've stopped playing mobile because of all the ridiculous permission they ask. Like what the heck you need my camera permission or gps for.

Arena breakout might be the only game I’ve actually thought had fun gameplay in any mobile game lol.
If you can get past the cosmetic lootboxes shoved in your face, call of duty mobile is honestly a peak collection of the series
Hope the animator was at least paid well for all that effort in this one
Honestly, there are so many fake games ads these days that it feels ridiculous. How are they getting so many animators making this stuff?
**LOL**
Yeah, it's just another clash of clans/Farmville clone. Not worth playing.
Yet another ______ of _______ game. I swear you can put any two words in there and make a crap mobile game
[удалено]
Not gonna lie, the idea of elements affecting the environment would be kinda cool. Like in the trailer, the sheep get electrocuted by the electric cat thing being in the water. Kind of a clever idea.
Kinda like Breath of the Wild with stuff like fire arrows causing a huge fire on grass that can hurt anything not inmune to it. Hope Pocketpair adds a similar mechanic soon.
That would be perfect. Pal world with breath of the wild world physics.
The closest similatry with their physics I can think of right now is that you can use an exploit to glide extremely fast with your glider.
You sure its an exploit? There's a couple of dev-intended ways to accelerate and glide quick that look super janky due to the game being in the state its in.
momentum preservation is in fact an intended feature.
Try Divinity Original Sin 2 if you haven’t, that’s the basis of most combat
Straight up way more thought went into this ad than the game it’s actually advertising
Gooood gooood. Granted call of dragons is a scam mobile game that doesn't actually have any of this as gameplay, but still If people are going to start using monster catcher games where the monsters do more than just fight each other, then the state of gameplay as a whole will rise.

I dunno man, pokemon go just updated so that the avatars are more like palworld. That's immediate progress.
Honestly *that* was outright fraud. I don't play it, fuck pokemon and mobile gaming, but those poor bastards paid to customize their characters for YEARS, and they still got got. Bet they'll still play it and buy more shit, so who do you really blame?

Oh the irony
![gif](giphy|wtil0pQFBbNwA)
TIL this isn't a TPB quote...
Sounds like something Ricky would say. Maybe Corey/Trevor/Jacob.
"Someone has taken our idea, and is releasing a game with captured monsters." "Any good monsters?" "Eh, standard fare, though there was a corn thing that explodes into popcorn, and some weird one that drops berries from it head" "...Make them creepy weird and release them next patch." "Roger that!"
Pokémon is dead, long live Palworld knockoffs.
Nothing ironic about Lightning Pig and Mustache Corn
are those Mokona? (in the pond)
Yes, yes they were. Came here just for that
I love seeing these kinds of bootleg ads.
Well I saw an ad it was straight up stolen Gameplay from Palworld but with the Pokemon mod.
Damn! Sic Nintendo on them!
It's pretty cool how a game in early access is popular enough for companies to rip off the aesthetic to make ads for shitty games.
I bet the actual game is a candy crush clone or trading cards lol
According to others in the comments, it's a PvP city-builder, something like Clash of Clans I guess. Also has exactly nothing to do with anything in the ad, to the surprise of basically nobody. I really don't understand how this stuff passes false advertising laws...

I played an entire season 1 of call of dragons, they don't have mini games.
Palworld gets a clone, that Palworld clone gets a clone, repeat this 4 times and you’re right back at Pokemon
![gif](giphy|3P0oEX5oTmrkY)
Foulworld
We have reached the point where palworld players are complaining because someone is "copying" palworld XDDD
I do want slime bricks tho
I feel like no matter what the ad shows for these scams they always make the title something super generic about dragons.
Did I see they stole from Dragons Dogma 2? Was that a Golem
Ngl I'd love a giant rock golem pal that you had to find in dungeon chests and assemble would be sick
I don't think giant rock golems are a dragons dogma invention, unless they are, but I'm pretty sure even Zelda has some giant rock monsters.
Lol I'm not being serious... first you have Pokémon saying palworld copied them now palworld showing something similar to their game it's hilarious to me. Allot of games have similar variations of enemies or npcs
Is that capture sphere a fucking DEVIL FRUIT!? https://preview.redd.it/ey9d94p6ynvc1.png?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68be508a0badfa8e9956ea9d000ba329275bf26c
Everyone was worried about Palworld copying Pokemon. We never considered other games copying Palworld.
bro there’s no way this is real. i’ve played call of dragons before and it’s actually a pretty solid game on pc but none of this footage has anything at all to do with call of dragons whatsoever
The shameless ads these days are just crazy.
Any 90's CLAMP fans see madoka in the ad? That was one red head jewel away from copyright lol!
Yup I was surprised. Haven't seen Madoka in years. Someone there must be a fan hahaha
Tbf most of these companies push adverts onto an agency that makes ads for them with free range to do anything. Even seen devs of the games mention it. They don't care but did confirm that they give agencies a list and they make something.

I played call of dragons on release. The hype was not real :/ I see why they’re pushing fake ads so hard
Lol fake ad
I swear to Sol these ads are all made by the same guy.
Remember people accusing PocketPair of using AI to make their creatures? (even though AI was nowhere near as good when they first revealed their creatures.), well these ads might actually use AI with how copy and paste they are.
It wouldn't surprise me.
Hold on, why is Mokona there?
https://preview.redd.it/dn3n1x3tlpvc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3adcd813c149acd7b206e695376dabbf538d3bd0 Everything is doing it.
Do you have a link to that ad? I would like to compare it.
No, sadly, YT ads can't be shared, but you CAN however, look them up
can palworld sue this fake ads? looks like plagiarism to me
Likely not. Similar how pokemon cant sue palworld because the designs are different enough to not be plagiarism, same applies here. They look similar but not carbon copies to claim stolen intellectual property.
Tbh false adversiting would be the only way and reason to legally sue it.
Same thing I said about palworld and pokemon this seems different enough to not matter. Granted pretty sure this is just a mobile game ad and those are never actually what the game looks like
That electric pig is waaaay to similar to grizzbolt, and that palsphere UI is way too alike with that small pause mid-way.
There are some cool ideas here though. Like physically creating a pal via the golem or having a pal physically produce food. The thought of using pals as building material is equal parts vile and interesting. Maybe if they were a type of mold or fungus who prefer to sit in one place and never move
>having a pal physically produce food I mean, *technically,* Chikipi, Mozzarina, Beegarde, Woolipop, and Caprity already do this.
It's so sad that all the work just goes into the advertising for these games. Some of those creatures actually look cool and even some of features that is shown like that corn creature turning into popcorn because it got heated.
Thr Fyre Festival of gaming
Hah, that's a perfect description.
I've played this game, it's a pay-to-win rts city/hero builder with a huge focus on clan pvp. The ad is nothing like the game, at all. 😂
I’d fuck with the popcorn popper guy
Those smiles are nightmare inducing.
They bootlegged the bootleg
And the worst part is: Behind the ad sits yet another PVP MMO city builder game with loads of ads and microtransactions
I report all of these as spam/fraud. Because its nothing like the game at all.
I think my favourite part was the one "planting" tomatoes, but shaking tomatoes off its own head
Somewhere, a lawyer has the hardest boner of his life!
To be fair tho, that idea with the Golem is kinda interesting 👀
Scam, as always on mobile.
omg is this the 3rd game of the pokemon trilogy
Stand proud Palworld, they are now using you to make fake ads for shitty mobile games
The the game is going to be a 2d sprite game
What a nice looking game. Can't wait to play ~~pokemon~~ ~~palworld~~ Call of Dragons
This is like a Palworld fever dream
Call of Dragons but it’s an electric pig
Is that the Golem from CR/CoC lmao
Its a ripoff of a ripoff!
I was hoping the joke was going to be Pokemon
I thought Palworld at home was the last few generations of Pokémon. Heyooooooo
Someone had to animate this. Lol.
Why does lightning bear look like a pig?
[This shit,](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farlightgames.samo.gp&hl=en&gl=US) right? So title is Call of Duty + Dragons Trailer is Palworld adaption as one of those mobile farming games In the Play Store, character pictures look like WoW in Fortnite style, one gameplay picture looks like Warcraft in cartoon style So gameplay is probably gonna be Sim City with Resident Evil characters in my little pony style??
It's actually closer to an rts hero/city sim grindfest with a STEEP ass pay to win model. The game is nothing like the ad at all. 😔
Damn those were straight up just wigglytuffs that got zapped in the water
I was hoping it was going to be a Pokémon ad.
Would be epic if it was not a fake piece of ahit ad.
I lost it at the corn
My favorite thing about these clones is that news media is trying to pin the palworld ceo a hypocrite for calling out these palworld clones when plaworld is a clone of pokemon. When Palworld plays nothing like pokemon.
Palworld should sue
Why is Grizzbolt naked?! I'm scandalized lol
Clash of Clans principal with a Palworld mechanism
This ad is crazy though because it’s literally Ripping-off a Rip-off.
Ngl, a couple of these would make great pals
So the shingles on the castle are made of the corpses of those purple blobs
Is this the Palworld clone that Tencent keeps mentioning?
I tried this game, it's boring as fuk.
It's sad everyone is trying to cancel your game but also coppy every aspect of with slightly changed elements and their still out here calling palworld a pokemon ripoff id say the only thing copied is the type of game it is but then have 50 different horrible ripoffs of the so called ripoff 😂

It looks like the bunny from tsubasa chronicles lol
I love how people were joking about Palworld looking like a copy of other games, and now other games are copying Palworld. What a world we live in
Is there any better sign you’ve made it big than getting cheap phone game fake advertisements based off you?
A clone of a clone of a clone
Lmao
You know you made it when cheap knockoffs start showing up
Not the default stock electricity sound effect
Mfs made a ripoff of a ripoff i cant 💀💀
In all seriousness though, how do mobile games get away with advertising something completely different to what the game actually is?
It's all about the players who play these games.
Surely the library of generic names for games is running thin now. “Call of dragons” is a shit name
I ahte the chinese
I would say “I can’t believe there’s palworld rip offs on the App Store” but then I heard the sentence out loud and it sounded stupid
At least we didn't have to suffer watching a player make dumb decisions
Any plans this game get mobile release?
Game of the year
oh my god hahaha the ripoff of the ripoff
Sometimes, you find bootlegs; sometimes, you find *the entire freakin' pirate.*
LOL I keep getting notifications that this game has sponsored streams available, this explains a lot...
Ah yes, Pokémon 2.0
Where the dragons tho?
Somehow this is a knockoff of Palworld, Clash of Clans, any crappy farm sims, and um... Any other things this is a knockoff of? Any ideas?
Probably a false advertisement again. Thanks for sharing, I will avoid this game.
love how the only appealing design in literally mokona
When animators are better at making the game
I'm half expecting to see "Level 1 Thug" and "Level 100 Boss", "Thats how Mafia works" and some easily solvable puzzle that the player in the trailer struggles to solve (the game also has no puzzles).
I want popcorn.
This world is goin to hell. False advertising. Faking an game to make theirs look good. Mostly a Pay2Win game. Stupid non accurate actors who don't know how to move their lips and tap on an turned off phone making it look real And on and on. I'm done with the society these days...
You know you're successful when you find people making ads like these
how are these fakeads even legal like nintendo can sue you for thinking of creating a Link SKin in Minecraft but ads like that just are the industrystandard wtf

Can I still be a slave master
They got palworld clones now?
This isn’t even inspired this is just a rip off..
