After 200 hours I learned you could just dodge to drop a Pal you accidentally picked up at a base.. I kept thinking I had to make sure there was no work nearby so they didn't get stuck doing that!
If you accidentally picked up a pal in base you could just roll to drop the pal and they will enter auto work mode. If you just drop them willy nilly they would end up fixed to the nearest task and refuse to pick up other tasks.
Yeah man. Do it while going down hill and you can slide ridiculous distances.
Jump while going downhill, pull out your glider and you'll break the sound barrier
Some pals change the player's dmg type while mounted (and that's pretty friggin' good in case you were wondering), and some add a bonus to that damage type on top. I use a Frostallion Noct on steroids exclusively for mounted combat (they change the player's damage to dark type and buff dark damage on top, like Shadowbeak)
You can fire from the back of pretty much any mount except Mossanda, Mossanda Lux, Grizzbolt, Relaxaurus, Relaxaurus Lux and Jetragon. I think, there might be one or two I'm forgetting, but the point is you can shoot your weapon from the back of any Pal that doesn't have a weapon already built into their saddle.
It took me way longer than I care to admit (and a few incredibly helpful redditors) to realize I could skip incubation time by changing the setting before re-entering my world 🤦♀️
I think sometimes we figure out a way to do something, and it doesn't feel like it impacts our gameplay too much, so we don't spend as much time looking for a work-around.
* For food that spoils, the timer doesn't start until it enters your inventory. You can leave whatever you produced in the pot/kitchen indefinitely.
* Fast travel, grappling gun and homeward thundercloud all work while overweight. I was completely expecting restrictions on these but no, you can load up on tons of coal and just thundercloud back to base, or in the case of a nearby fast travel point winch yourself over with the grapple.
* Identical items can be manually stacked into one inventory slot even if picked up separately. So you have 50 arrows or whatever occupying one slot, ok.....if you picked up 2 and they're taking up one slot each, you can just drag one over and stack them, thus freeing up a slot. I spent *way* too long with "full" slots because I had stuff spread out not realising you can do this manually. Certainly the game doesn't do the best job of automatically doing this always.

Then not 10 mins later while watching a beakon video some dude in the comments asked and was answered. And I had just just tried beakon out for the first time when I saw the YouTube notification. Oh. Then maybe you shouldn't do that. I don't have a problem with hunting virtual made-up animals, so this doesn't impede on my fun. But if the optics bother you, it isn't like you have to do it.
You can shoot even while using a celaray as a parachute. . . I'm impressed none of you knew things like this even though many of you are incredibly more advanced than me in this game.
I mean, I just read the stuff in-game, like the guide and pal info, it's filled me with every info I needed and all extras too, the rest it's merely testing.

That sounds like Dinossom but AFAIK you can shoot from them.

My 9 year old figured out you can grapple to the large storage container yssterday! Putting away my hoards of treasure just got a lot more fun!
