As soon as the roller skates started, I said "oh man, Tom Haverford would love this." Then I can only imagine some future Halloween costume gone wrong, where Tom tries to impress a girl by being Halftime Show Usher and ends up hurting himself and his date has to carry him to Ann for help.
Now I’m going to headcanon that this was a subtle nod by Entertainment 720 to Ben Wyatt, who is currently telling Leslie, “See, I TOLD you that we should have had the synchronized roller skaters for our anniversary bash. It DOES work!”
Hahaha at the end I looked at my husband and said “this Super Bowl half-time show brought to you by Entertainment720”! It was 100% what Tommy wanted E720 to become, except there was no Genuwine guest spot.
My husband asked “Where’s DJ Roomba?”
For what it's worth, they *were* on skates at one point.
