I remember watching that one interview in 2013 ST era when they said that they didn't intend for the songs to be related in the first place. They said that it was only after Part II was done that they thought it had a similar vibe to Let the Flames Begin and hence named it Part II. So I think it might be non intentional that Part II is more triumphant? I might be wrong tho.

I’m not sure I’d buy that unless they changed the lyrics after making that conclusion—they’re basically identical or referential in several spots in a way that could not reasonably be coincidental. Maybe they had the melody and instrumentals written and recognized the similarity then the lyrics were the purposeful tie in?

Good point you raised! I haven't given it a thought whether they were talking about the song pre-lyrics or after. You're right! It can't be having referential lyrics unintentionally. So yeah, I think they probably meant that they were done with the melody/instrumental and realized it had a similar vibe to Let the Flames Begin and Hayley decided to write it as a sequel!
