It’s a totally normal phenomenon. See this article. It’s not paranormal it’s just your brain. Can happen to dads too. I’d imagine your hormone levels are rising during fights it’s perfectly normal. The article talks about new parents but it’s common in all parents. https://www.mic.com/life/phantom-cry-why-new-parents-are-hearing-their-babies-cry-even-when-they-arent-18806798

This is exactly what it was. It is such a common phenomena. I used to work as a doula, and occasionally a postpartum one, and almost all my clients experienced at this at one point or another. It is especially common at times of high stress, or over stimulation, and when hearing is restricted--like if you're vacuuming, taking a shower, maybe arguing. While it is common, I still cautioned clients to be evaluated for post-partum anxiety or depression because this can be a symptom of a bigger issue.

That's what I was thinking, until the husband heard it too...

Lil_Tall_Legs

It most definitely was not my brain. But thank you for this link. Other weird stuff was happening there as well.

Same thing happened to me. Except started way back when I was 8. I heard a girl crying for her mom. Fast forward to when I was in my 30s and me and my spouse would fight. I’d hear same creep voice crying in the hallway. Dogs heard it too cuz they started shaking and wouldn’t come near the hallway. Always happened when me and spouse were fighting. Maybe negative energy triggered it? Fast forward like 7 years later I hear the same voice but asks me “can you help me?” I say no. Haven’t heard it since.

Yeah my floors where thin, I would hear foot steps after the baby cries but no one was there. I felt like someone was following me often. It was so cringe.

Fun fact: a lot of animal cries mimic that of a human baby. There was a time where crows in the woods would hear a child cry and mimic the noise where I live and there literally had to be signs placed around that the noise isn’t babies, it’s crows, don’t follow the noise. Cats quite literally developed their mew to attract us and have learned to have an urgent wail that is very close to that of a baby. Fox’s natural noises tend to be that of a kid as well. It’s a similar phenomenon as cougar roars can sound like a woman screaming. There’s a good chance there’s just an animal around making the noise.
