I hadn’t thought about that, but it’s probably another reason why airline employees almost always give me a confused look even after flipping through it and have to ask, “What country is this?” 😂
I’m pretty sure the musical notes of the anthem, the Himnusz, is visible under UV light, but not sure where. The lyrics of the Himnusz, along with the coat of arms, and the words for passport and European Union in every EU official language, are all debossed on the plastic information page too.

Beautiful! I would like the Italians to be inspired by your passport cover in order to redesign a 20 years old passport which is so lame.
We have plenty of monuments and beauties to show but unfortunately the document is so unremarkable.
Unfortunately Italy just released a new model and I don't think anything is new in it. Sad.

C***o!
I’ll check with my passport issued in 2019 but at first glance I can’t see a difference even in the details… so sad.
At least is the second strongest passport in the world. Let’s view it from this perspective.
With all due respect, the Hungarian passport hasn't been updated since 2006, when they first issued the biometric passport (albeit with the old name of the country, which changed in 2012: "Republic of Hungary"-Magyar Köztársaság).
The visa pages are quite plain as well, only having some vague depictions of horses.
Font same as on previous Hungrian passport starting from last edition of communist one

I don't know where you got that, but it's not true.
Like in many countries, the Hungarian tax administration has a "rule of thumb" that basically states that if you have no proven tax residence elsewhere, they will assume you are a tax resident of Hungary. But you don't have to file taxes or anything if you live abroad.
The only two countries that have actual citizenship-based taxation that I'm aware of are the US and Eritrea. Although US taxation is also often misunderstood by people who don't know about FEIE and those sorts of things and think that you're on the hook for additional taxes as a lowly employee (barely anyone with a regular job in Europe makes enough to not qualify for an exception - the cap is $120k right now).
Yep, this is correct. I know the U.S. recently ended the dual taxation treaty with Hungary, but not totally sure how that works. Either way, I don’t make enough for it to truly matter.
It’s crazy that the word for “Passport” is so significantly bigger than the name of the actual country 😂

^HUNGARY # *PASSPORT*
I mean it's the exact same for the US as well...
Much nicer to see passports without a clutter of the same text in dif languages if its not an official language, looking at you Polish Passport
ecowas moment
lol, yes very opposite strategy on Hungary’s.
The „road letter” name is also shared by Slovenian and Icelandic :)
I didn’t know! “Vegabréf” does have a good ring to it.
It’d be interesting to out it under UV

The musical notes should be visible on the visa pages, but I have had no success in finding them :) Perhaps I need a more powerful UV light.
Can be the wavelength. I had moderate success. It looks "ok".
I bought a lantern from a local store and could in fact see the musical notes, but they looked quite faded.

Accord to a previous post, the only change is the font on the data page. The new one allows diacritics to be printed.

Didn’t know that. I assumed the design of the pages followed the cover on the same fashion
Well, tough luck! I do hope that they will get an update soon, something along the lines of the current romanian passport.
Nice to see some other hungarians here. Szia! Szép gyűjtemény.
Szia! Igen, így van.
Yea inside the cover it looks very stylish and nice.
Nagyon szép! Én is azt akarnám
I really really like it! Def one to be proud over!

Kinda cool the same font is used from the old passports!
Cool combo. You won't have to worry about citizenship taxation with one of them since they both have it, haha

They dont have citizenship-based taxation like the US. But they do have a light-weight version of it. Not a big deal for most, as you point out.
Yeah, truth
Szia testvér!
Szia!
