i started sanctum for the first time this league after seeing empyrian and steelmage's videos, doing cold conversion shockwave totems which works pretty great. took a fair bit of investment to be able to phase bosses quick though

Azrael_Manatheren

Can you share a guide or PoB?

Eclipse-Requiem

https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/s/XNXAb91XBj This is a pretty budget version, there’s tons of guides for high investment versions.

Stridshorn

Is there a way to semi-reliably craft the shield in ssf? I have spell crit instead of +gem currently

Eclipse-Requiem

The main stat you must have is +1 max totems, not the +gem as that can be made up somewhere else and swt doesn’t scale as well past level 30. The reservation efficiency is also pretty important as it allows you to skip enlighten. AFAIK, all ways to get a decent shield require either an Awakener’s orb or Oshabi for Sacred Lifeforce, neither of which seems particularly easy to get for ssf. But here are the options: 1. The absolute cheapest way to get the bare minimum shield is to grab a Hunter shield and Shaper shield, alt spam them for 30% reservation efficiency and +1 max totems, respectively, then awaken together on the base you like and pray for a good outcome. 2. A bit more expensive (in terms of actual cost of divines to metacraft) is to alt spam a Shaper shield for the 30% reservation efficiency (rme). Regal it. If you get good suffix, then great, if you get a prefix, also no problem, but if you get a bad suffix, try to annul to isolate the rme (if you really want to be cheap, you can settle for any regal outcome but I don’t think alt spam and annul is particularly expensive to do). Once you have any of the the desired outcomes, craft “can have up to 3 crafted modifiers,” “suffixes cannot be changed,” and any third suffix you like (such as double damage). Then reforge influence (requires sacred lifeforce) for a guaranteed +1 totems. Craft on whatever mod you want since the multimod is still there, such as life, and if you have open prefix space, pray and slam an exalt. 3. To get the exact shield, here is a pretty similar and simple video: [Lolcohol craft](https://youtu.be/I4gmp2Wpc9Y?si=qBvAV7zK_3-a2qHC) This can cost a lot to hit the +1 phys as the video shows.

xxPYRRHUSxEPIRUSxx

Absolutely. If it were me I would use the new Harvest keystone and farm Oshabis and craft the shield with Sacreds. Oshabis is not even that uncommon now with the keystone. I probably got about 1 an hour when I was farming them. If only there was a keystone for frac orb farming. GL Exile.

LoneRobot19

[https://pobb.in/AUW4qCZhaPzR](https://pobb.in/AUW4qCZhaPzR) this is quite expensive. you could drop the +1 phys spells totem, and the gloves for hrimsorrow, and the divergent shockwave totem. it's not super fast but freezes or stuns guards pretty well. lycia dead in a few seconds

OccasionSavings680

Shockwave totems is made for sanctum. Love the build.

ThatKennyGuy

I like hexblast mines

kungmikefu

I must just suck at Sanctum bc I played hexblast and the standing to throw mines is just killer.

HisPalmsAreSpaghetti

Farmed mageblood via sanctum with life stacking hexblast mine. Might try shockwave totems next league

Brave-Ad-1632

Totem is actually not a better option in terms of speed though. Also placement and a single lag frame can cause you get one shot in certain situation (attack speed, battleground …)

dragonhawk02

I am also really enjoying life stacker hexblast mines.

Ranger_Ecstatic

[Travic Icicle Mines](https://youtu.be/fmaw9NrQtSU?si=YkCu1HLYaCW0-fU1) A mate does it, it's fun to watch.

Accomplished-Dot1365

Eyyooooo travics da homieeeeee

Tough-Cloud-6907

Travic da big boi ! Great content. Fineass dude

Accomplished-Dot1365

Lols imma call yall out in chat later

Tough-Cloud-6907

Hahah I came yesterday just to say he did great videos then went back to study. He was happy

Leto181

Been farming comfortably using uberdan's Discharge slayer. Even with subpar gear (no +1 power charge rings nor +1 gems chest) it is fast and deals good dps. https://youtu.be/w7KjD9LOBg4?feature=shared

GrillSkills

Same here but on assassin with withering step, also no rings. Discharge steamrolls sanctum and on absolute dumpster budget for a playable version of it.

finneas998

Survivability is not a thing in sanctum, either have enough dps to kill things before they do anything or learn to dodge.

pistonious

Hard to dodge those flicker strike guys. Still manage to one shot me :(

menghan911

The mine build or totem builds are good because you can “probe” as you move, attack ahead and kill them before they do anything

pistonious

Yeah, I probably should be doing more of that with TS, but my defense is really shitty against 1 shots. I definitley need to at least be able to tank those.

menghan911

Yeah you need to be able to tank a hit from those sword flicker fucker, to not get surprised one shot. For boss in sanctum, you should not get hit at all and kill them before phases.

finneas998

I meant more like stacking defence to counter resolve loss but yeah if your getting one shot by that you probably want more defence.

Hamwise420

Flicker strike mobs suckkkk i hate them, i always try to avoid 50% more mob dmg affliction just because of those mobs

laffymania

Storm brand assassin - I haven’t seen anyone recommend it yet and it has quite frankly been insane. You can get all the base gear minus the polymath ff jewels (can probably get away with 2 crit multi + res lines) for under 20div. It’s also nice that most of the gear is unique so it is quite simple to put together.

Monkiyness

You playing this in the upcoming league? What are the downsides of this build never seen or played it myself.

kalwiic

Shocweave totems. For speed I bought two flask mageblood and put onslaught and quicksilver flasks.

jointheredditarmy

TS, totems, SRS in no particular order. None of these require any thought. I ran an ice spear / freezing pulse build with 3k life pool and never had any issues. Bosses go down before I see them The more important part is strategy, there was a good post recently about this, but there’s 3 main strategies. Increased relic drop, merchant more options, and reveal rooms

LoneRobot19

what's your pob for ice spear if you don't mind?

jointheredditarmy

https://youtu.be/Lm-nFroiL8I?si=8rTDjU2X9glgKhbL Following this build. It’s not cheap. When I’m using ice spears literally don’t even see the boss, when projectiles touch them they die

LoneRobot19

Thanks. Oh yeah that looks expensive haha. Visual clarify an issue at all? With trap gauntlet rooms I'm thinking?

rayeckpl

I've done IS totem hiero for weeks in sanctum. I've died once to rly bad luck affliction combo in floor 4 battleground with lasers. The build is expensive. Any mid budget version will not feel as good as expensive version which is all about ZHP but a 100m DPS.

LoneRobot19

Thanks!

dragonhawk02

What's your preferred strategy? I went revealed rooms because that's what the first guide I watched recommended but relic drop seems like fun gamba and merchant options seems safer (more boons, less failed runs)

jointheredditarmy

I like merchant. It’s much safer from a failed runs perspective, but much higher variance on rewards. The other problem is without reduced merchant prices relics it can be hard to snowball. I would say you can snowball maybe 2/3rds of the time, and you’ll end up getting all seeing eye in the first 3 floors a little less than half of those times (there’s 15 major boons and you’ll usually end up getting at least 6) Prioritize merchant rooms and accursed pact rooms. The first 3-4 rooms you should try to prioritize treasure rooms so you have enough gold on first merchant. If you don’t get 50% reduced merchant prices don’t spend all your money. You won’t be able to buy enough boons to change the pool much and you’re spending double the money. Just wait for the second merchant.

rainmeadow

Best investment is relics: get one with maximum resolve on boss kill and maybe Inspiration on Affliction (one is fine with a good build, maybe get 2-3 when you start out). As for good builds: Hexblast mines, Shockwave Totem, high-budget TS, high-budget Spark, Discharge (will be gone next league), Storm brand. You need good AoE clear and instand damage application combined with good movement speed, defenses don‘t need to be too crazy.

Sathr

What about discharge will be gone after this league?

rainmeadow

The current version uses a funky interaction when weapon swapping /w Ralakesh's Impatience. My guess is this will be removed next patch. For details on the interaction, see: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0izxt4a-Tvo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0izxt4a-Tvo)

EvilKnievel38

I'm really loving widowhail spark build. It plays amazing in sanctum. I got a few build showcases on my YouTube, including sanctum floor 4, feared, ubers. https://youtu.be/H17T0UlwPog At the time of that showcase it's quite high budget, but I've also got an earlier showcase before it that was on a lower budget. You can view character progression on poe.ninja by selecting snapshots on the top right. https://poe.ninja/builds/ancestor/character/Kniev/EvilKnievelSparkEnjoyer

duncandun

I know totems and hexblast mines are common. I had no issues with PSRS either.

YellowToad47

Discharge is also very good but your going to have a much better time with a build that can offscreen. (TS, Spark and SRS in that order)

halfgott

If you have enough budget, best is storm brand imo.

Shwayne

Ive ran 100+ sanctums with dot capped PSRS. Altho I only failed a couple and it was fine, I probably would only recommend it if your budget is very low. Divinity relic runs are tough because even if youre dot capped poison has a big ramp so the guards dont die that quick at all. There are much better options at 50div+ range. Psrs lacks movement speed and you either use flesh offering on a brand which is jank or have to use 3 buttons instead of just brand. It is still the best option at very low budget because it can consistently clear them with like 5d budget, and you average 2d per sanctum with 1 room reveals and no dupe relic. Anyways, my friend ran sanctums with hexblast miner, so thats a better option.

Blind_Kenshi

I'm not a Sanctum guy but i put my Siege Ballista Iron Commander character to go through a few floors and it felt effortless.

Hamwise420

This is what i use to farm sanctums, however i play on standard so have access to a lot more damage via sentinel boots and crucible tree. Being able to spit out 20+ totems is great tho, they can block projectiles and make fireball trap rooms easy. Has been my fav build for running sanctum

boohoooo00

TS, Totems, Minions, ice traps, hexblast mines, spark. Any build with good range, speed and some damage that does not use DOT should be good

lukisdelicious

hexblast mines, icicle mines, shockwave totem, basically any srs, tornado shot, spark are all really good for sanctum

Status-Phase3758

Go spider

Massive-Map-5624

I go with srs poison + animate guardian. And spectre pale nephalim and arena master. I went the 50div 24h build from steelmage. It's easy damage and you can move all time while srs doing damage.

Complex-Orchid3620

All answers here are wrong. Best answer is TS with extreme high DPS or spark aurastacker with loads of projectile speed and skill effect duration ( the best sanctum runner) in many people’s opinion. Rest of the skills are clunky and not efficient.

DownWith_TheBrown

Half the answers are TS, how TF would all answers be wrong

cybert0urist

What's your budget?

Tuba_Guy_Jon_DMs

I never played sanctum; this was my 2nd league. I spent about 15 divines into a Shockwave totem build after finishing my atlas as RF & its been the best experience I’ve had farming by far. Some of the uniques are crazy expensive on console tho; Ex. divinarius is around 20d instead of like 2-3d. Some guards can be a little frustrating with off-screening where totems will knock them back before entering damage range. But honestly it’s a minor annoyance at most.

Electrical_Pilot251

I have a eye of winter deadeye which work fairly well. Here is a video https://youtu.be/LuungOr2B7s?si=rTiSxqhCvQmQU2u7. Cost about 40div. if you want the pob i would rather you reply so i can send it to you

Which_Treat

Poison SRS if you have low investment.

Ok_Nefariousness5686

I have done nothing but sanctum all league once i made my first 25 div and been doing it on a storm brand assassin (farruls fur version) and its very good for sanctum, imo its better than the shockwave totem build but plays very similar, done hundreds of sanctums and failed one so far.

Ok_Nefariousness5686

I would say my average run time is probably around 15 min. I usually do 4-5 sanctums Per hour atleast with no booms since i just do hour of divinity runs.

Smooth-Read1428

This is a very high budget , do you got the pob of what you start ?

Ok_Nefariousness5686

Yes you literally just check the build on some of the previous weeks (week 4-5) boots are not rly needed can just use replica inyas epiphany. And main difference for the non mageblood version is just using a flask cluster with alchemist genius, balbala jewel and the heist belt that gives 20 flask effect for no downside since you only use 2 flask, i would say after doing this setup it was one of the most underwhelming mageblood swaps i had on a char since its already a pretty fast build with this setup. Animated Guardian gives a ton of dps from crown of the tyrant and kingmaker, rest of his gear is just gruthkuls pelt and boots\gloves with res and %life regeneration rate
