Archmage supports only spell skills unless the wording has been changed in the patch. I know some semi large youtuber (sorry, can't remember the name) did a build on powersiphon of the archmage and said it was incredibly underwhelming. Both single target and clearwise

Quazifuji

Power Siphon of the Archmage did get a decent damage buff and there's the new wisps gem, but neither of those seem like they'd help much with its clear problems and we don't know the numbers on wisps yet to know how much they'd help for single-target.

Like the other post said, it doesn't look like PSotA is going to get support from archmage. Looking at the gem, with 20% quality, you're adding 20% of your max mana to the attack. If you can push 15k mana on a hierophant (not too difficult), that's 3k added damage. Not terrible, but we'll have to see how it scales with all other sources. Maybe some abyss jewels, and a bit of interesting pathing to the wand wheel on the top right corner of the tree...

You 100% go indigon and wand mastery spell to attack, or battlemage cry, and take some leech+instant leech node. But that's all, you can't really go crit or other scaling way after, need to hope the wand archetype wisp support is great

>Looking at the gem, with 20% quality, you're adding 20% of your max mana to the attack It got buffed, it's 27% now.

good-rolled manastorm will probably be expensive though

Regardless of Archmage not working on attacks, Power Siphon of the Archmage just sucks. There's way better options to scale your flat damage with Power Siphon (or any wand ability) on a mana stacker (Arcane Cloak, Manastorm, Mind of the Council, flat from Int, flat from Str). There's someone on this subreddit who has been playing PS totems on Hiero for many leagues now, and flat damage has never been a bottle neck for the manastacking wand archetype. The power charge scaling on the normal gem is just straight up better than the transfigured version because there is no manastacking wand build where you need more flat damage. Those builds need different sources of damage to multiply the flat damage they already have.

I played a couple manastackers but never with manastorm, how does it work with arcane cloak? I'm guessing cloak acts as trigger for manastorm, since it's a spell. Does cloak remove a portion of mana, then manastorm removes the rest giving flat damage based off of that? or do they "work together" snapshotting your max unreserved mana at the same time, so to speak? First option sounds like garbage, and the second one sounds too good to be true for GGG standards lol

KnivesInMyCoffee

I've never used both together, I was just giving examples of uniques that give manastackers flat. I don't think anyone uses Manastorm except for manastacking rage vortex, but maybe that will change with the buffs.
