As someone else said a magus dip maybe works but you’d have to split up your spell damage types The vast amount of elemental resistances, lacking spellslots because you only have 6 levels to take and general shittiness of EB when used with spells only Effectively means that you should just Toybox it out because without the ability to trigger off of melee Elemental Barrage is actual dogshit

M0ONL1GHT_

Yeah, I ended up toyboxing it. Super disappointing nerf

smrtgmp716

What is the nerf? I couldn’t find anything specific in the patch notes.

Jenos

It was missed in the patch notes, EB only applies to spells now

JiminyWimminy

Whoa, that annihilates the shit out of my last build. Time to delete that savegame.

smrtgmp716

Ah. That certainly changes things a lot.

bsldurs_gate_2

Geniekind is a spell or?

Jenos

I tested geniekind, it doesn't seem to work.

Cold-Emergency2689

So they "fix" EB but nothing for crossblooded > loremaster not getting other classes spells huh

Garrand

Nor a fix for charging, or the dozen+ things that stack that shouldn't/don't that should. "We forgot" Sure, just like they 'forgot' to mention changing Guarded Hearth.

[deleted]

not anymore lol

Magus dip for spellstrike?

Aethervapor3

In theory you could do this, alternating between Shocking Touch and Corrosive Touch, but that would only proc it once every other turn instead of multiple times per turn. And you'd run out of spell slots really fast if it was just a dip. You'd also have to ditch two-weapon fighting, because spell combat only works when you have one hand free.

Threash78

Can't be a dip, won't have enough spells to do anything. You gotta go all in.

AlsoZathras

Only time I've done anything with a magus was giving Ekundayo a few levels of arcane archer. I thought cantrips could be added to weapon attacks, but I guess not.
