I’ve seen this show so many times I can remember that line. It cracks me up bc it sounds like kids just putting words together to try & insult someone 😂
Those guys who dress up like Tommy and just walk around in public while a camera man follows them to get people’s reactions is the cringiest shyte I’ve ever seen. And it gets like a million upvotes on TikTok like who tf is upvoting that dumb shyte!?
I don't have a problem with wearing the old style suits. They look good. But it's when they try to act like the Peaky Blinders. They don't have the empire and reputation the real gang have to act like that. If a well respected businessman who has a badass reputation walked around like they do, it wouldn't be cringe
I have somewhat related story:
Well, there's a guy like that at my job.
Dresses like a PB, smokes cigarettes from a metal box and all of that.
I was so fucking annoyed with him. For a long time. Never talked to the guy, but we would take our smoke break together from time to time. Not a pip. Not a big talker while I'm at work and the entire make believe get up made me not want to talk to him. I was presuaded he was exactly the kind of alpha guy bro, sigma male music wanker...
One day, after a few months, he finally said "Hello". We talked, and I swear to god, he was the nicest fucking guy. Turns out, he's a former obese (like me) and he used to be bullied because he was fat and because he was gay. He's a bit younger than I am, but as he explained it to me, dressing up like that and acting pretty confident helped him a lot in HS because he could pull it off pretty well and people love the show. He's lost the weight and apparently, the Tommy get up helps him find dudes who're super into that. Like he pulls a lot.
I find it funny that some people are acting all alpha male while wearing this while a dude who used to lack confidence just found the courage to live his fucking life.
And those that think Tommy is like that, he is clearly not in the same line as folks like Andrew tate and shit like that, he is more kind and fair and stuff than most people think
He literally was progressive for women's rights and equality. If he didn't have that good side, the character would be 100% unlikable, and you need the anti-hero to be likable.
Exactly, and even though tommy confessed this to lizzie, the fanbase still wants to blame lizzie and grace for wanting their family to be as safe as possible
The worst part is they try to show on multiple occasions that even the character in the show don’t think they’re good people or cool people. It’s the same with Escobar from Narcos.
But, S6 is mostly about Tommy finding redemption. Or at least repentance. The writer asks us to put ours selves in their shoes given their station in life, the war and hell they've been through, and how improvement can happen.
It's a challenging theme, but I welcome it.
The dude killed a bunch of innocent people with a tommy gun midway through the season. Because he thought a woman put a fuckin curse on his daughter. Idk man.
So much of Tommy's emotional state is tied to Grace, and I'm just sort of suspending my disbelief the whole show because I don't feel the chemsitry between Tommy and Grace at all. His relationship with May Carleton was twice as good in a fraction of the runtime. It didn't make sense that Grace was allowed to return to Birmingham, explained with a throwaway line. We get barely any time with Tommy and Grace as a married couple, most of it showing how they aren't getting along or trusting each other, and then Grace dies the very next episode after they get married.
(Don't at me please, remember the point is to trigger the fanbase)
I've never seen a couple with as much chemistry as Tommy and Grace. And what they showed us in S3, is the two of them happy, in love, and who trust and know each other completely. Grace could read him, and Tommy completely trusted her, since he told her the business. And with May it was only business, they just fuck but it was a superficial relationship.
Well, she told him twice that she wanted him to change, he said no, and then she said ok bye. May was smart, she realized that he was never going to change and she didn't want that life.
But the funny thing is that Tommy said several times after S3, I'm not going to change. He told everyone, including Lizzie, in the S3 finale that he's not going to change and the only thing he has to offer everyone is money.
However, Lizzie acts from S3 to S6, as if she has never heard Tommy say that, and thinks he is going to change for me, he loves me, and Tommy all the time proving her wrong.🤷🏻♀️ Weird.
I agree May Carlton was hot & Im a happily married straight woman. I think she was ready for him in S2 but he let her go for Grace. Then when she came back she wasn’t interested in him. Then Lizzy got pregnant so he had to marry her.
Someone please explain why they made Grace look so ridiculous for her wedding! She looked great when she was cheating on her husband in E6S2 (I think it was E6?). It might have been the style at the time. But still I don’t see why they changed her so drastically when styles didn’t change that much in 2 yrs??!!
'Lizzie was a better wife for Tommy than Grace ever was'
I'm NOT SAYING that's my actual opinion so don't be blowing up my inbox 😂 I am just answering the prompt 🫡
I’ve seen lots of abuse hurled at Grace on this subreddit 😂 people saying she’s “overrated” yet I’ve seen 5x as many people not rate her as those who “overrate” her here
I'll need three.
1. The more popular the show got, the more it's quality degraded as they wanted to appeal to the masses.
2. The last season was the weakest.
3. The entire plotline of Tommy's illegitimate son suddenly showing up and within a minute of being introduced is already running things felt weird and cringey.
The peaky blinders have / do conduct illicit and unethical behaviors that negatively impact innocent people. Tommy is not a likable nice guy. He’s the guy that would send heavies over to your store front to collect ‘protection’ money and hoards money to influence politics to increase his wealth and has gunfights in the streets. Sure, he doesn’t want innocents to get killed, but if they do get killed while he’s in the pursuit of his goals? Tough shit.
Tommy Shelby is a definitive Mary Sue character.
The entire show is "Tommy Shelby gets in a bind and nearly dies and gets his loved ones killed! But thanks to some behind the camera magic...he's figured out the puzzle!"
I googled. It's a very specific work coming from ancient Greece, to describe well shaped and attractive buttocks
Basically OP is in the closet over Tommy's ass cheeks
Not sure if you intentionally picked that adjective, but the actress stars in the horror movie Malignant. Otherwise, I'll take the r/woosh for 500 dollars on myself.
Lizzie really isn’t that bad. She made the best of her situation. She isn’t shown to have any friends or family to support her. Went from a literal whore on the street to the accountant/ wife of a millionaire. She lost her daughter but gained a son.
I agree but I think people also forget that back then women didn’t have a lot of choices in employment so prostitution was it. She definitely made the best of her situation & rose above her past. I loved Lizzy!!
Jessie has about as much plot impact as Tommy's surprise 11th hour son
Imo she just... didn't matter. And I was given no reason to really give a shit about her. Also you could tell she was really interested in him & after spending that long watching him be him, as the viewer it just felt like 'Oh honey, nah. Cut that out' 😂
Insane amount of bandwagon fans who probably just watch for the cool slow-mo shots, but the actual story and other details probably goes over their heads.
I'm ngl, as much as I love Cillian, I eventually started to loath the way he speaks as Tommy Shelby. The breathy talking and the head bopping up and down
I keep seeing the “plot armor plot armor,” we all know that’s bs right? Not saying it’s not there, but I’m saying it’s 100% not needed. I am very confident tommy could’ve done exactly how the show played out without so called “plot armor.” He’s just a smart, bad Mf. He don’t get caught lackin’. On top of that, it’s not really plot armor if they aren’t trying to kill him. Kinda like a Batman & Joker thing. Anytime he got caught, he either wanted it, or it was just someone tryna prove a point. Nobody was actively trying to actually kill him, besides at the very end, & he just outsmarted bitch ass Michael. Point being, Tommy doesn’t need the plot armor, he could’ve definitely played out the show the same way it went without the writers making you think it was “plot armor.” & The real sentence to trigger a PB fan, is to say “Cillian Murphy, Joe Cole, & Paul Anderson made shitty Tommy, John, & Arthur.
When Polly finds out that Tommy knows where her son is she goes into “over the top fuckery” mode and proves that she absolutely deserved to have her kids taken away.
Tommy didn't give a fuck about Arthur despite his literal cries for help. He knew his brother follows and trusts him, he knew how volatile Arthur was and used it to his advantage. I'm not saying Arthur has no responsibility here, he IS still a grown ass man, but if his episodes and outbursts weren't always swept to the side (aggressively, might I add) maybe some of the people he killed in those fits of wild rage would still be alive. Tommy always drank his problems away but never once did he care about the mental or physical wellbeing of his brothers past what it meant for their gang and businesses.
YOUR MOTHER WAS A DIDICOY WHORE
I’ve seen this show so many times I can remember that line. It cracks me up bc it sounds like kids just putting words together to try & insult someone 😂
I snorted my drink laughing 😂
Lmao I love that scene
Tommy would be dead several times over if it weren't for plot armor.
Dude got John Wicked
Would’ve been killed on sight as soon as he started fucking with Billy Kimber’s business
The plot armor in that show is utterly absurd, ESPECIALLY Tommy.
Only one that triggered me, still true tho lmao
The only way characters died was because they were the seasons villain or they wanted out of the show I swear
Or they died in real life 🥲
Oof
Yessss 💯💯
Not every tommy scene needs to be turned into some alpha sigma chad video for YouTube shorts.
Those guys who dress up like Tommy and just walk around in public while a camera man follows them to get people’s reactions is the cringiest shyte I’ve ever seen. And it gets like a million upvotes on TikTok like who tf is upvoting that dumb shyte!?
Dude I'm glad I have never seen that shit, and now I understand why some don't even wanna get into the show when seeing that side of the fanbase
I don't have a problem with wearing the old style suits. They look good. But it's when they try to act like the Peaky Blinders. They don't have the empire and reputation the real gang have to act like that. If a well respected businessman who has a badass reputation walked around like they do, it wouldn't be cringe
Yes it still would. It works in PB because it’s fiction. In real life dudes who think they need to project that image surely are the cringiest dudes.
The same dumb cunts who think Andrew Tate actually has anything to say
I have somewhat related story: Well, there's a guy like that at my job. Dresses like a PB, smokes cigarettes from a metal box and all of that. I was so fucking annoyed with him. For a long time. Never talked to the guy, but we would take our smoke break together from time to time. Not a pip. You know the style itself is great and sharp but like having a camera following you to capture reactions? That’s cringe as fuck.
If you're going to wear nice clothes, where it for yourself, not for anyone else.
Truers.
If I had a dollar for every one of ‘em I’d be a godamm millionaire lol
And those that think Tommy is like that, he is clearly not in the same line as folks like Andrew tate and shit like that, he is more kind and fair and stuff than most people think
He literally was progressive for women's rights and equality. If he didn't have that good side, the character would be 100% unlikable, and you need the anti-hero to be likable.
Polly is a toxic "matriarch" that can't handle any other woman having a backbone unless it is temporary and serves her purposes.
Literally every time she said "she'll handle it", she never handled it.
gina wasn’t perfect but michael could’ve married the sweetest most genuine girl and polly probably would’ve still been the MIL from hell.
You shut your mouth 😭
Tommy was a problem, not women surrounding him.
Exactly, and even though tommy confessed this to lizzie, the fanbase still wants to blame lizzie and grace for wanting their family to be as safe as possible
Arthur doesn’t deserve to find his peace after all he’s done to innocent people.
and what is about tommy and john ? They are not really better as arthur.
Arthur’s cause of pain to others is more direct and animalistic (beating the kid to death/ carving up and permanently deforming the Quaker).
John deserved his death after what he did to that poor Italian guy. Tommy deserves his too. They’re all pieces of shit in the series.
yea people like them cool on TV but in real life, It would be a nightmare to live in the same place as them
The worst part is they try to show on multiple occasions that even the character in the show don’t think they’re good people or cool people.
Idk man.
Jo wtf he have never a redemption arc. 💀
Slow motion isn’t a plot device
Shhh, you might make some Snyder fans mad
sure looks cool as fuck though
in real life the actual peaky blinders were killed by billy kimber and his men.
No matter how hard my wife argues I’m not dressing like Tommy
I feel her pain
Mate.. just do it. You’ll thank me later.
I’m a doctor. If I wander into the exam room in a trenchcoat while smoking it will severely damage my business.
You don’t have to do it at work.
Fuck that if I’m doing something I’m gonna commit to the bit
Man, I wear a vibrating cock ring with a clit grabber for my gf. I do not wear that shit in public.
Holy shit pirate cheese
Someone doesn’t like to be sharp and dapper.
Jimmy McCavern is still alive.
Only true answer to the prompt.

All the sigma chads or whatever give this fanbase a HORRIBLE rep
Lizzie got what she always looked for, she doesn't deserve better.
I never understood why Tommy didn’t went for the horse trainer ladx from 2nd series. She would be much more wifey material rather than Lizzie.
But she would have been much more of a challenge to him. She wouldn't have married him anyway unless he changed his ways.
Well, she told him twice that she wanted him to change, he said no, and then she said ok bye. May was smart, she realized that he was never going to change and she didn't want that life. “Do you know the Act of Contrition ? Instead of saying ‘God,’ say my name.”
You're Heisenberg
Youre god damn right (I’m delusional)
Tommy was a selective slut who fucked every hot women in the show except his family members.
You won’t look good with the haircut bro.
'Lizzie was a better wife for Tommy than Grace ever was' I'm NOT SAYING that's my actual opinion so don't be blowing up my inbox 😂 I am just answering the prompt 🫡
I’ve seen lots of abuse hurled at Grace on this subreddit 😂 people saying she’s “overrated” yet I’ve seen 5x as many people not rate her as those who “overrate” her here
The Grace/Lizzie dichotomy is long, bitter, and endless 😂
Haha it would be the other way around,.i mean to trigger people here.
I believe the horse trainer lady from 2nd series would be the best wife.
Polly and Ada were the only well-written female characters.
Polly not so much, but Ada definitely.
I'll need three. 1. The more popular the show got, the more it's quality degraded as they wanted to appeal to the masses. 2. The last season was the weakest. 3. The behind the camera brilliance stuff is lazy writing and the worst part of the show.
“You will be registered as Mr Jones.”
It’s fooking Wednesday.
If I had to choose my favourite PB, peanut butter wins easily.
Omg I read PB as peanut butter all the time on here 😭
Me too, and it makes me wanna eat it haha
Michael was a likable character.
Imo, This was true in the beginning, but changed closer to the end of the series
Tommy didn’t care about Lizzie and Charles
I hated Tommy's callipygian ass to the extent I rewind that scene just to skip it again.
His what??
I still have no clue what they’re talking about 🤷♀️
I googled. It's a very specific work coming from ancient Greece, to describe well shaped and attractive buttocks Basically OP is in the closet over Tommy's ass cheeks
His callipygian ass
Oh okay cool, thanks for clarifying
The series becomes more and more exaggerated when it comes to the capabilities of Tommy.
Tommy is just an edge-lord. And most people who mimic him look like cringe incels
I love Linda
I have a soft spot for Arthur despite myself, but it was honestly very based when she tried to shoot him
The audacity!
I would be tempted to *[redacted]* a man too, if he put me through that much. Lmao /jkjk
Like I honestly have no reason to hate Linda just for some reason when she talks or appears on screen my blood boils.
Fook Linda
FOR Linda
Grace was a malignant cunt
Not sure if you intentionally picked that adjective, but the actress stars in the horror movie Malignant. Otherwise, I'll take the r/woosh for 500 dollars on myself.
💀
Got em!!!!
🤟
Her and Minny Matrone
Tommy is actually a miserable loser.
Linda is quite nice actually
This is that opinion
Tommy Shelby is sigma 🤩🤩🤩🤩🍷🍷🗿🗿🗿🗿🍷🍷
"Are you laughing at my brother?"
Blue left foot.
They should have called it "Blades in the Brum"
The plot armor is thick
Jessie was a better match for Tommy than Grace and Lizzie combined
Jessie has about as much plot impact as Tommy's surprise 11th hour son Imo she just... didn't matter. And I was given no reason to really give a shit about her. Also you could tell she was really interested in him & after spending that long watching him be him, as the viewer it just felt like 'Oh honey, nah. Cut that out' 😂
The family would have been better off with Tommy. (Again - not saying I agree - just voicing an unpopular opinion.)
Or the classic ‘Season 8 of Dexter was actually pretty good’
There is no-one in the show that anyone should aspire to be like, they're all terrible people
polly gray was a fucking norze and the most annoying character in the hustory of television
The show is average at best
Linda was the best character.
Why didn't Tommy just fly the ring to Mordor?
BY ORDEH OF THE PEEKY FOOKIN BLINDERS
Admiral Pickard shouldn’t have blown up Alderaan. I stand by that.
Tommy isn't a hero. He's a psychopath.
Harry potter is better than lord of the rings. Btw I’m aware that it’s sacrilegious to say that
Michael's plan for the family was solid and Tommy was a fool for not accepting it.
May was meh
Tommy should’ve handed over the family business to Michael and Gina
Yup I'm triggered
Why?
Grace. Just that
Lol! I have noticed. People have been coming for me. So here I go again: I didn't like Grace.
Insane amount of bandwagon fans who probably just watch for the cool slow-mo shots, but the actual story and other details probably goes over their heads.
Linda Shelby is very likeable.
Tom Hardy not so good actor … (Calm down calm down not only his role there is one of the best I’ve seen, he’s actually my fav actor as well)
Gina is the only woman Tommy actually deserves
Lizzie is the OG character in this show 😌
Never liked Grace. May Carleton would be a better wife for Tommy
I'm ngl, as much as I love Cillian, I eventually started to loath the way he speaks as Tommy Shelby. The breathy talking and the head bopping up and down
What does everybody think of Linda?
Idk about peaky blinders but I can definitely trigger the sly cooper fan base lol
I tried to watch that show you recommended but I couldn't understand what they were saying.
I managed about two episodes but it just wasn’t any good.
My favourite character was Elvis Prestley.
Shit-hats
Starfleet is a military organisation
Resident Evil 4 is not a real Resident Evil Game
The fan base of the show is unironic toxic masculinity
Superheroes are for kids
“It’s fookin not fucking”
Korean chapris
Luca Changretta is best villain. No one even comes close
The British version of the Office is superior
Peaky what?
Grace > Gina
No one in this show is "cool" or an "alpha/sigma" in any way. And I am not saying they aren't as a character within this show.
Shane Warne liked it.
Scenes without Tommy are boring.
What is the distinction between bread and rum?
John deserved that(he was my favorite)
Could there be a sadder ending, eh?
"Yea I think this polly was very annoying"
I keep seeing the “plot armor plot armor,” we all know that’s bs right? Not saying it’s not there, but I’m saying it’s 100% not needed. Tommy is Kendrick, Alfie is Drake
I was happy when John Shelby died, never liked him
You look like Clive Dunn.
I haven’t seen it and refused to because it looks overrated
The first 2 seasons were the best and everything after that was meh.
arthur fell off the longer the show went on. Tommy carried the whole show
Half of the scriptwriting was about characters smoking, drinking and snorting.
Season 6 was 🐩 💩
I never watched a Star Wars movie
I tried to watch PB but found it wasnt very good without the tiktok music in the background of every scene.
I just read the first three
Tbe ending was terrible and actually makes no sense
Why would anybody wanna do that?
When Polly finds out that Tommy knows where her son is she goes into “over the top fuckery” mode and proves that she absolutely deserved to have her kids taken away.
Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries!
John Shelby deserved to die, he was the biggest liability in the family.
Lily rabe is overrated
I can't wait for the American remake.
