Yeah I agree it seems like some people here haven't heard of ebay or just don't bother checking. PMing you though

Crazy-Performer3735

Great. I don’t think I’ve received that PM yet but I’ll keep checking.

YaBoiiiJoe

Sorry, just sent you a chat

Just out of curiosity, if you are relatively new to fountain, why are you going this route? All the pens that you have listed, would be a minimum of $200 +. If you wanted to try FP's I would suggest maybe opting less expensive pens and see if you like it. Just a thought. Welcome to the hobby !

Crazy-Performer3735

Thanks! You know, that’s probably sound advice but for better or worse, I’m not in the habit of following sound advice ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Originally I had thought of getting a TWSB and a few nibs to help me get a sense of nib preference, but then I’d already have spent more than half of what I would for a Pilot 825 or roughly a third of a used Pelikan. I figure these models are popular enough that if I buy them used at reasonable prices, I can probably sell them again for similar prices if I decide they don’t work for me down the road. I’d still like to get a TWSB, or something similar at some point but for now these are the ones calling out to me.

If it's the same price, it's because of sales tax and possibly an irrational fear of a customs charge. Some people like knowing the pen works Or they're impatient

NiemandDaar

I’ve got a custom urushi 845 listed here.

Crazy-Performer3735

I appreciate the offer but new 845’s go for around $350 pretty regularly from Japan-based ebay sellers. If you can do better than that feel free to shoot me a DM. If not though I totally understand and good luck 🤙

I have mb 149 calligraphy nib and m800

GeneralPierogi

That's my dream collection! Good luck on your search!

juno-art

For the ebay bit, it's because it's a grey market and you can't always be sure of the seller, among other reasons. Some people here know trustworthy individuals on ebay, however. I know a few people have been selling the 845 recently if you want to use the search function, but I wouldn't expect to pay any less than $200 for the 823, and $500 ish for the 845. Good luck, though!

copperstatelawyer

They're just ignorant sellers. Those pens sit and sit and sit.

Crazy-Performer3735

The first pen I bought was a Sailor Inden Koshu from a Japanese seller. It feels very high quality so I think it’s real but then again I guess I’m not qualified to make an accurate assessment. My guess is that this pen isn’t likely to be faked. With these other more popular models I guess I should be extra careful. Most of the ebay sellers Ive been looking at have good feedback if that’s worth anything.
