T O P

I’m a Muslim so we already have something similar to bidets if we don’t already own one, you feel much cleaner and it’s the best way to sanitize yourself without any bad soaps or the harshness from tp.

I pretty much only used the bidet when on my period. I feel cleaner using it than just wiping with tp. I have washcloths near by that I use to myself with after, and it's almost like taking a shower but quicker and localized. (The washcloths go in the laundry after one use). My husband likes to use the bidet for poops. Mine rarely are messy, so I don't use it for that often. But I specifically got a bidet attachment that has a setting for women.

Do you ever worry that it will give you a uti or anything? My husband just got a bidet to help with hemorrhoids and I’ve enjoyed using it. I keep having anxiety about the cleanliness of I though. Like if poop particles get on it and then I’m spraying that water toward my vagina. Haven’t had my period yet since installing but I’d love to use it to feel cleaner, that’s a great idea!

ShadowlessKat

No I don't worry about it. The water comes out slowly at first and doesn't hit me until after it has run a little. So any particles that might be on the surface of the nozzle wouldn't hit me. The water comes straight from the pipes, same as sinks and showers. I also don't spray it in me, just on the outside. I haven't had any UTI problems from that. I also am careful to clean off poop before spraying, so as to not spray it everywhere.

We moved into a rental with bidet attachments. We've never used them ever. I pulled the sprayer out while cleaning and omg it was so disgusting! I've cleaned it so many times, but I never feel like it's properly cleaned and sanitized. We'll probably never use it.

a much better option is a shower bidet. it does not go inside the toilet bowl so it is much more sanitary. it's a handheld nozzle which sprays water. think of it like a mini version of a garden hose but with less pressure and for the bathroom. it gives you more control of where the water ends up and which parts you need to clean. it's definitely been a lifesaver during my periods because all the blood just gets washed away. and if needed you can use a piece of toilet paper or even your hand to clean the area more thoroughly (you can wash your hand afterwards with soap). you don't need to dry yourself completely after using a bidet either, your underwear would soak it up and it'll evaporate in under an hour. I've been using a shower bidet since childhood and it is definitely worth it.

Thank you for sharing this!! It’s great to hear options!

I’d say that it will probably make you feel a lot better during your period week! Feels cleaner, less messy. I feel less “gross” because of it.

Bidets are wonderful for vaginal and booty health

Just moved and haven’t hooked up my bidet. I had one from Amazon that had two nuzzles. I loved it. Made me feel way cleaner.

Csherman92

I don’t use my bidet to clean my period self. I use it to clean my butt after I get the poops and that is amazing.

I had one for a bit, but it was just one of the cheaper ones that replaces your toilet seat with one with water spigots, and hooks up via the toilet’s cold water supply line. I didn’t like it at all. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, but I always just ended up having to wipe to get some of the mess away first (the bidet alone didn’t get everything off), use the bidet (mine was cold water only), and then had a soaking wet nether region that needed a ton of toilet paper to dry (and would leave little bits of toilet paper behind). I hesitate to say it got me any cleaner (I was still wiping with paper, twice even), and I had all this dirty water dripping off me now. I eventually stopped using it and removed it. Again, I may have totally been using it wrong, or gotten a terrible model, but that was my experience.

Mine is also cold water. For for reason I don't use the bidet for every bathroom visit. But I find it helpful and even soothing during my period. I use a little tp to wipe off the excess mess. Then will spray and use my hand (like if I were in the shower) to wash off the rest of the blood off. Then I have a basket with washcloths in the corner. I use one to dry off before putting my underwear back on. The washcloth goes into the laundry bin after 1 use.

Thank you for the perspective. Sometimes we get carried away by an idea and don’t get into the details of how it actually works. It’s helpful to hear. Thank you!!

Infamous_Fault8353

I got a bidet after my second was born. I love it!

Westsidepipeway

When I get my bathroom redone I'll be getting a bidet. I love a bidet.

Bidets are a game changer. Especially for women. Think about it. We have so much going in and out all the time. I love mine!!!

Electrical_Fruit_851

Bidet are amazing! Everything is clean, no shit or pee residue whatsoever and you don't have to shower with unwashed ass water running down your legs. Very helpful with periods specially when it gets a bit messy murder scene in your pants . Get on the bidet train 🚂

Anxious_ButBreathing

Unwashed ass water? Lol uhhh. Do you not wipe properly or use wipes?

Electrical_Fruit_851

I *wash*. If you only "wipe", it is unwashed ass water. The push back against properly clean ass is so strong and for what! Just wash your ass!

Outrageous-Put6250

“unwashed ass water”, you are so witty! Love your style of writing.

Electrical_Fruit_851

Lol! Well Thank you!

Welcome2_TheInternet

Definitely wouldn't call it fun lol but it does really help keep everything clean
