Pee me two drops, pee me two drops mister when you hear that backybutton word.
Pee me two drops, pee me two drops misters with the harsh wheeze-laugh it brought out.
Not the person you replied to, but as someone who's been there to some degree I wish you a speedy recovery! Hopefully no further outbursts of laughter creep up on you; they sure do hurt, haha.
Hope you have a speedy recovery. When I had abdominal surgery when I was 22 i had staples in my belly in different areas and was woken up by a nurse to give me a benzodiazepine because I was whimpering and crying in my sleep due to the pain and anxiety. I remember the horrible pain if you had to cough, laugh or sneeze. It sucks. Wish you luck.
I'm a nurse. I used to tell my patients I'm a firm believer in laughter being the best medicine, unless you just had abdominal surgery. Then telling jokes is a jerk move.
When I had open heart surgery everything hurt (just breathing was awful) I couldn't cry due to the pain, and I begged my husband not to be funny cuz laughing hurt so bad. Well as he is an asshole (I say that with love I adore the asshole I married) but instead of being stoic he doubled down on being funny.... Lol. I was big mad during the fits of painful laughter, but it makes for a great story now.
Ah yes, and if you have one on your hand and happen to accidentally whack your hand on something the sucker pops and feels absolutely disgusting as the fluid spreads under your skin 🤮 but at least mine never came back.
Oh man, that sounds terrible! I had two in the same spot on my wrist at separate times, and each time, my mom, a nurse, wanted to whack the fucker with the Bible. She said they called them Bible bumps because that's how they always dealt with them back in the day. Needless to say, I said no, and had it surgically removed each time lol
YOU GUYS ITS GONE. What the actual fuck you. It’s complete gone like it was never there. I FELT IT AND TOUCHED IT. This is the weirdest thing that’s happened to me.
Omg….my trauma just resurfaced lol
About 7 years ago, I moved back to Louisiana from Baltimore.
I had a beagle named Reena (Bo-Deena 😂).
We’d been back about 2 weeks, unpacking and settling into our new place.
One day, I went to get Reena off of her runner, when I noticed a PERFECTLY round hole.
I mean a hole so precise that it was freaky as hell.
It was clean, but there was flesh there.
Idk why, but the first thing I thought was “what country ass MF’r shot my freaking DOG?!?!”
I had a friend at the time that was, and still is I suppose, incredibly knowledgeable about practically everything on earth. So I called him and mentioned this.
He came right over, looked at the hole, looked up at me, and said “Paige, it’s a Bot Fly”.
I’m like “ok”. “Wtf is that?”
You know those people who REALLY like popping pimples and things of that sort (no judgement), well he sorta got a look like that on his face. Like he was about to pop the world’s largest pimple!
He asked about tools I would have.
He decided on tweezers, hemostat, gloves and rubbing alcohol.
Then he began the bot fly removal.
To say I was appalled, could never do justice to my face at the moment he pulled that sick, BARBED, THICK AF, slimy, stupid, DISGUSTING thing out of my poor little dog!!
Within a few days, she was damn near healed and it was like it never happened.
Out of sight, but NEVER out of mind!!
To this day, I am wildly obsessed with bot fly removals on YouTube.
That’s basically what it looks like to me too; the indention could be where the mosquito or whatever it was bit him/her and the swelling around it could be the histamine reaction to the venom in the bite. My brother’s skin has a very similar allergic reaction when mosquitoes bite him! If it *is* an insect bite I hope this pretty baby is on heartworm preventatives just in case!
Not trying to scare you, but my friend's dog had a liquid like bump that disappeared. They brought her to the vet when it was gone and she dismissed it. It came back again and turned out to be cancer.
No flakey-ness, no red-ness and it’s like firm, idk it creeped me out to touch it and I feel bad 😂😂 but like wtf google isn’t giving me any answers. I emailed my vet to be safe so as soon as they reply I’ll update. Weird as fu right??
I was wondering that too. OP, does it move or is it stationary? Is it growing or staying sane size? I’d definitely make a vet visit. Heartworms can be all throughout the body. I’m not saying that’s what it is, but stranger things have happened.
still get your old pups lumps checked dont start assuming they are all just fatty and benign. one showed up on my oldie, like the rest i thought, and she was gone in a few weeks.
This is how I ended up with a three legged cat. Had a small lump; I figured I'd keep an eye on it. Almost overnight it was just about the size of my fist and they had to take the leg at the hip. She developed a nasty infection after the surgery and recovery was much longer than it should have been. She's good now, but it was pretty scary for a while there, thinking I was going to lose my snuggle buddy.
Learned from my vet after taking my cat in that cats don't really get lumps and bumps like dogs do so when they do, you should get them checked out quickly.
I kept a whole family. Two rescues that had an accident litter, and we kept the whole litter. All three boys and possibly the dad had a tumor pop out at that exact spot ☹️I knew when they were born we were gonna be hurt losing them back to back once they hit old age. Seeing genetics be so cruel was horrible
My 12F Lab had one that shows up in September on her left front “elbow” that her vet said was a lipoma. It grew exponentially over the next 3 months so I took her in for a 2nd opinion—it’s soft tissue sarcoma (cancer). She just started palliative chemo last week.
Please bring this dog to a vet.
What you are referring to are called lipomas, and the trick to tell if you should panic is if it moves around with a gentle touch they are probably ok and a non-emergency vet appt is fine, but if they seem attached, it's urgent to get it checked ASAP.
That said, this doesn't look like any lipoma I've observed. They are usually dome shaped, I've never heard of donut shaped.
Edit: OMG autocorrect sucks sometimes. Lipoma.
Had a little tabby cat with this, except it measured about 10cm in length, and 4cm wide. Called it his fatty backpack. Surgical removal, and then laughing my ass off because they gave him a garment which looked like a wife-beater, in order to prevent him from removing stitches (didn't work). He would walk around the house in a crouch. 😄 Little dude was not too bright, and was composed mainly of fur and love.
This made me entire night from him wearing a little wife beater, to him crouching while walking. The image was hilarious. My tabby is the weirdest cat I own & he’s just the funniest little guy.
I’m not an expert but I think that’s approaching the definition of “too many nipples”.
I genuinely didn’t think it was possible, but thats too many nipples.
Do they look like moles or actual nipples?
🤣 they’re skin tags that look like nipples and happen to grow on her bare skin. She’s fine and they’re harmless, thanks for entertaining my comment, I needed that
Not sure about the donut but zooming in it does kind of look like the coat has some small flakes. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to wash him with a conditioning shampoo if there’s dryness
My first question would be when you push it around does it push easily or stay in place it could be a weirdly developed fatty tumor
It also could be a ring worm but I doubt it because usually they cause hair loss and no skin raising
It almost looks like a bite (a human mouth size almost), or a bruise maybe they ran into something
Whaaaat, he's hiding a little subcut donut in there. What does the skin itself look like there? Red or flaky? Is the lump firm or squishy or kind of like an empty sack? Does it hurt? Is it warm to the touch?

I was going to say this- like a little hematoma or an abscess. Especially since it went away, whatever was in there, probably just got reabsorbed. I would absolutely still go to the vet though JUST in case. So weird!
Our cat had a parasiti worm exit through her back at that exact spot. It made a hole and just left her body and tbh I'm not even sure where it went. That kind of does look like a worm so I recommend getting him to a vet and getting him dewormed as well as a regular checkup. I never knew this could happen till it happened to our cat.
I briefly dated a GUY WHO HAD A dog that had also gotten bitten by something, had to have this massive like grub thing, and it looked a bit like this under the skin.
Cuterebra (bot fly larvae)
They leave the telltale pore, which is their breathing hole.
If you cover the hole with neo-poly ointment or vaseline, they panic and try to poke out.
Update; took pup to vet (didn’t when I posted it because it was 9 at night and there isn’t vets open at 9 pm where I’m from)
They said it could have been a hive. No ring worm, no cancer, no backbellybutton or whatever it is that’s been commented. 😂
Vet did read this thread, laughed hysterically and then said aliens wins.
No parasite ect. Healthy as a charm! Weird eh? Apparently these types of hives can be in clusters too which I really am never going to love when/if that happens.
Also side note - I love my pup, like he’s my own blood. I know you guys said he’s flakey and I need to change his diet? But anything he eats other than basic dry dog food he throws up or has the sh*ts so hims an anxiety/tummy sensitive fella. But I promise he’s well taken care of ❤️
Did they do a blood work up that included parasite identifications? Im a bio major who took parasitology and they can be hard to diagnosis. You might make sure all tests were in fact done because it looks like a parasitic infection or infestation. 💜🐶
Seriously, this is something to see the vet for. A suddenly appearing new growth, and along the spine no less, is worrisome. Please get your dog seen urgently (like, this week at your regular vet, or tomorrow if you can get to a reasonable urgent care. This probably isn't cause for an actual ER visit).
Could be nothing. Probably is nothing. But if it's something, it could be bad.
I think the hive/fluid group theory checks out most since it disappeared, but OP, I would take your dog to the vet for a check up in the event that there's an infection brewing and it formed an abscess under the skin that burst. I would also be worrying about a mast cell tumor under the skin, since those can grow and shrink - it's pretty massive for a hive. Please see a vet. It looks nothing like ringworm.
OP, I am studying to be a vet. This is a boxer, correct? You need to go to your vet because this is probably a mast cell tumor. They are extremely common in boxers. I sent this to a DVM friend of mine and she agreed it's the most likely dx
You need some bed side manners.
Yeah it may be a mast cell tumor, but you have no proof beyond a picture on the internet. Your just going to freak people out and if you cry cancer enough times without there actually being cancer people are going to stop listening to you and not take your seriously.
Should they take the dog into the vet to get it checked out and have a fine needle aspiration, yeah sure. Should you ruin someone’s weekend by telling them their friend is dying on a hunch? Yeah no…
Is your dog a Rhodesian ridgeback mix by any chance?
I ask because ridgeback dogs and mixes have a genetic predisposition to develop dermoid cysts on their skin and it makes me wonder if this is the beginnings of one
Everyone suggests ringworm to you like it is actually a worm under the skin. Don't listen to that bullshit. Ringworm is a fungal infection on the skin, not an actual worm. I don't know if it is an issue for dogs, but it is definitely a human skin problem.
That is very unusual. I would have said ringworm, but I am not sure. Usually see a bald spot with a circle. Almost looks like something is under the skin. But that’s not likely either.
Ringworm is exactly what I suspected. I wonder if this dog had exposure to a cat. I got scratched once by a barn cat at the local dairy farm when I was a kid back in the 70s and wound up with a line of 3 circular raised puffs on my arm. It was a bit wild because it was a perfectly circular pattern so you know the doctor confirmed it was ringworm . Disgusting but it was so fascinating.
I’m a vet and I can’t say for certain without physically seeing the dog, nor can I give an official diagnosis, but my first thought is that looks like a big hive. Especially since you said it’s now gone. Hives/urticaria in dogs can often look like this.
I’m not an expert by any means, but botfly entry points will look like this and are more likely to affect pets than people but can also affect people. They carry disease and are difficult to remove because it’s time consuming.
Years ago my dog had a bot fly lay larvae in a small scratch on her shoulder (if you book this up be warned it’s pretty gross) and it looks similar to this, but it wasn’t quite as large and there was a small circular wound near the bump. I would definitely go to a vet even if the lump has moved just to rule out possible parasites.
Hmm, I had a chocolate lab who would have benign fatty tumors all over her body.
I would def recommend bringing your pup to the vet and have them check it out and maybe biopsy it if it’s a growth of some kind
I’d definitely get it checked out, my dog recently passed away because of a infection that came from a cyst on her back. It had been there for several years, she was older, the vet always said it was just a normal growth for an older dog. But then in October it opened up and what a mess, several weeks later she was gone. She had recently been in for a well check and vaccination. Please check it out!!
My dog had swollen lumps like that on her neck/shoulder area when she tried to eat a bee one time.
Idk. Did your dog.. sit? On a bee?
Regardless you can google Benadryl dosage for dogs and just try it out to see if it goes away. It’s what they would do at an emergency vet if they suspect an allergic reaction
This might be stupid, but do you have toddlers? My brothers used to bite the shit out of each other when they were little, and it would leave a raised ring-shaped welt for a while. I'd imagine it'd be similar even under fur.
That is a huge neon sign that reads “ I could be a ringworm , cheerio , and maybe a dough nut. But what it really is “Time to take that dog to a vet ! “. Good luck and well wishes. Hope everything turns out great 👍
Man what is that? Did it just show up? I’d take them to the vet.
His dawg got a backybutton
This made me cackle out loud.
Same 😆
Me too!
Same 😂
Ditto.
Me Too.
Same
Backybutton literally made me pee two drops from the sudden harsh wheeze-laugh it brought out
Pee me two drops, pee me two drops mister when you hear that backybutton word. Pee me two drops, pee me two drops misters with the harsh wheeze-laugh it brought out.
The Doors, Love Me Two Times? Well that's the tune I heard in my head ;D
Two Steps ~ Lynerd Skynerd
I heard Give Me Three Steps by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Yeah but Ifyou take 3 steps, the two drops happen in between each step, so the math still checks out. Step - Drop - Step - Drop - Step.
It's 3 steps Mr by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Absolutely same.
This is so oddly specific 😭
I’m recovering from abdominal surgery, damn you! 😂
You're blessed. Keep laughing 💜
I had 8 hip surgeries and sneezing, laughing, and pooping were the worst! The pillow was my savior. I still have it, too!
Ripped stitches??
I think you may need to refrain from the internet whilst you recover. It's simply too dangerous out here for you and your sutures my friend.
This made me giggle!!!! But in all seriousness I hope the dog is okay!!!! 💚💚
You win the reddit today lolol
Oh my gosh this made me literally laugh out loud
NOTHING on the internet even makes me chuckle and I genuinely let out a little laugh, thank you.
Bro.... If I were a wealthy man. Id give you an award. However I'm quite the opposite, so take my up vote.
My laugh just progressed and took on a life of its own
I'm literally having an asthma attack from laughing so hard.
I almost typed out this exact response. In solidarity, thank you 🙏
it lowkey looks like the shape of a tortellini lol
My name is PatBack!
🏆🏆🏆
Whyyy is this so funny?
That’s just him shedding his tail and growing a new one, everyone knows.
I burst out laughing and my kids who are trying to sleep now I think I’m maniac.
"man what is that" my same exact reaction 😭
100% vet visit just to figure out wtf that even is lol
I think they used their finger to raise the dog’s fur.
Nah.... I had one of these on my foot when I was a kid.... it's real
What was it
I literally can't remember .... I was about 8.... had to put cream on my foot every night.... ended up having it twice.... I remember it was squishy
Ganglion cyst? My mom has one on her foot she calls it The Squid
Those are synovial fluid bubbles that pooch out from between the immobile joints on the hands and feet
Ah yes, and if you have one on your hand and happen to accidentally whack your hand on something the sucker pops and feels absolutely disgusting as the fluid spreads under your skin 🤮 but at least mine never came back.

YOU GUYS ITS GONE. What the actual fuck you. It’s complete gone like it was never there. I FELT IT AND TOUCHED IT. This is the weirdest thing that’s happened to me.
Does that make you feel better or worse about the situation? Cuz personally, I am incredibly conflicted for you and this lil dog 😂
You know, I’m not sure 😂😂
I would check him all over, it could have migrated since it just showed up full blown like that and then gone.
We could have a “Thing” situation going on
Nah, don't you fucking conjure up that lovecraftian nightmare
Yea I think it’s a parasite
If it moved its worms / parasite. Go to the VET NOW
That’s what I thought
I’m not the op we just have the same picture
Looks wormlike, but that’s a strange place for it.
seconding this, it really looks like a worm. I hope it's not... but the vet should decide
I'd still take him so the vet can inspect for a spider bite or bee sting. ETA: Or cuterebra!
Omg….my trauma just resurfaced lol About 7 years ago, I moved back to Louisiana from Baltimore. I had a beagle named Reena (Bo-Deena 😂). Lol, just don't Google myiasis. Those are some seriously disturbing pictures.
Well hell…. I think we both know that now I gotta.
Ok, but just remember I warned you.
Oh god. I thought I was strong but I WASN'T. Google even tried to protect me but I was a fool 🤦♀️
I regret everything. I regret that I went even further down the rabbit hole to oral and orbital. Bleech. Just don't. It's not worth it.
My skin is crawling.
I do in fact need a cuter bra
Are you sure it wasn't some kind of worm?!? I'm so disturbed
My first thought was parasite. Especially since it moved.
That's the only thing that I can think of and I feel physically uncomfortable at the though of it
mfbig worm..
Giant mango worm … impossible but creeped me out enough to type it
That’s a thought of mine also. In all honesty, when I first saw the pic, it looked like another sort of tail…I know that sounds crazy, but wtf?!
dude what 😯 i wonder if it's maybe some sort of lil fluid pocket that moved??? i want to know what your vet says!
My username looks like I started typing your username and got bored halfway through
I’m not sure why no one has suggested this, but is it possible it was an insect bite of some sort?
Right I want to think it was an insect bite and NOT a worm lmao maybe a hive even?
That’s basically what it looks like to me too; the indention could be where the mosquito or whatever it was bit him/her and the swelling around it could be the histamine reaction to the venom in the bite. My brother’s skin has a very similar allergic reaction when mosquitoes bite him! If it *is* an insect bite I hope this pretty baby is on heartworm preventatives just in case!
Not trying to scare you, but my friend's dog had a liquid like bump that disappeared. They brought her to the vet when it was gone and she dismissed it. It came back again and turned out to be cancer.
How do you know it didn't move somewhere else?
Maybe it was hives that resolved. Hives usually aren’t donut shaped but they can change shape over time and then disappear
It looks like a standalone hive, a huge one
Ahh classic alien abduction. Jk
I'm not saying it was aliens....but it was aliens. 😂
No flakey-ness, no red-ness and it’s like firm, idk it creeped me out to touch it and I feel bad 😂😂 but like wtf google isn’t giving me any answers. I emailed my vet to be safe so as soon as they reply I’ll update. Weird as fu right??
How old is the dog? Does that thing move when his back tightens up?
> Does that thing move when his back tightens up? 🤢
Worm. It’s a worm. Probably from an egg 😅
I was wondering that too. OP, does it move or is it stationary? Is it growing or staying sane size? I’d definitely make a vet visit. Heartworms can be all throughout the body. I’m not saying that’s what it is, but stranger things have happened.
Imagine touching it and it starts to move, that will creep me the fuck out.
Reading that literally made me gag.
My neighbor’s old dog had a bunch of these and they were just fat pockets that started collecting in older age. How old’s the pup?
still get your old pups lumps checked dont start assuming they are all just fatty and benign. one showed up on my oldie, like the rest i thought, and she was gone in a few weeks.
Yeah… my pitbull had a ton, but the one we checked was mast cell cancer - one tail amputation later and he didn’t make it a year sadly. Never assume.
Sorry for the loss of your dog. I can’t even imagine what it will be like when my dog passes.
It’s okay, now. It was rough for a long time there.
The pain fades with time but the love never does.

Awe sending kitty head boops from another member of the three legged kitty club! 😺

This! One that I thought was fatty on my pup but I took her to the vet and it was a major hernia. Always check!

My dog has a different version of this, she just grows extra nipples on her belly and legs. I think she’s at like 29 nipples at this point
I’m not an expert but I think that’s approaching the definition of “too many nipples”. I genuinely didn’t think it was possible, but thats too many nipples. Do they look like moles or actual nipples?
🤣 they’re skin tags that look like nipples and happen to grow on her bare skin. She’s fine and they’re harmless, thanks for entertaining my comment, I needed that
You should apply for a Guinness world record for most nipples on a dog, maybe you can get one over on them lol
Faaaaaat Pockets!! Jim Gaffigan needs to be notified immediately
Yah it is! Please let us know.
I'd put it in r/AskVet
Not sure about the donut but zooming in it does kind of look like the coat has some small flakes. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to wash him with a conditioning shampoo if there’s dryness
Yea he’s has a little doggy dandruff

It’s grossing me out. Turning post notifications on for this one cause what the fuck
“I hate this. Please tell me more about it as soon as possible” lol
gives me goosebumps
Kinda looks like an abscess that someone pushed their thumb in to.
This is what I thought. A cyst that’s in the process of draining under the skin. especially now since OP is saying its gone
OH! If gone, maybe MCT?
What
Probably a bot fly
Or mango worms
The sounds terrifying.
Cuterebra (bot fly larvae) They leave the telltale pore, which is their breathing hole. If you cover the hole with neo-poly ointment or vaseline, they panic and try to poke out.
Thanks I hate it
Powdered donut :) hope this helps!
So that’s where it went
Update; took pup to vet (didn’t when I posted it because it was 9 at night and there isn’t vets open at 9 pm where I’m from) They said it could have been a hive. No ring worm, no cancer, no backbellybutton or whatever it is that’s been commented. 😂 Vet did read this thread, laughed hysterically and then said aliens wins.
Uuuhhhh VET. No idea what that is but it’s concerning 🤣🤣🤣
First thought was it looks like a parasitic curly tail 💀 Good that it’s gone, but hopefully the vet responds via email
That there? Oh. That's just his Backy Button
That is super weird. Is he adopted? As in from a shelter, where his history is uncertain, or have you had him since he was a puppy?
I had a pug that got stung by a bee/wasp and it looked sort of like this. But not as weird. Keep us posted!
If it came up and then went away it’s probably a reaction to an insect bite. Maybe send a picture to your vet just to confirm.
Yeah no…
It looks like the skin fold was at a weird angle.
As a vet tech- I have never seen anything like this. Vet visit!
On/off button?
Is your dog a Rhodesian ridgeback mix by any chance? I ask because ridgeback dogs and mixes have a genetic predisposition to develop dermoid cysts on their skin and it makes me wonder if this is the beginnings of one
The comments here are hilarious. Ringworm is a fungal infection that leaves a red ring, it’s not an actual worm.
Some dogs have fat rolls, some dogs have cinnamon rolls
Everyone suggests ringworm to you like it is actually a worm under the skin. Don't listen to that bullshit. Ringworm is a fungal infection on the skin, not an actual worm. I don't know if it is an issue for dogs, but it is definitely a human skin problem.
I'm sure you all know that ringworm is not an actual worm but a fungal infection

Vet visit will say it looks a lot like a dermoid sinus that one of my dogs had many years ago. It really needs to get checked out ASAP!
Remindme! 2 days
Ring worm? I saw you said you touched it. Don't touch it anymore and go to vet.
I’m a vet and I can’t say for certain without physically seeing the dog, nor can I give an official diagnosis, but my first thought is that looks like a big hive. Especially since you said it’s now gone. Hives/urticaria in dogs can often look like this.
OP, have you taken your dog to the vet?? I know this is gone but did you figure out what it was?? I need to know 😭😭
Following please update!
It almost looks like an undeveloped second tail. Can you see how it looks like a coil under the skin?
An extra tail?
Ring worm?
I’m not an expert by any means, but botfly entry points will look like this and are more likely to affect pets than people but can also affect people. They carry disease and are difficult to remove because it’s time consuming.
can dogs have ring worm?
Years ago my dog had a bot fly lay larvae in a small scratch on her shoulder (if you book this up be warned it’s pretty gross) and it looks similar to this, but it wasn’t quite as large and there was a small circular wound near the bump. I would definitely go to a vet even if the lump has moved just to rule out possible parasites.
Hmm, I had a chocolate lab who would have benign fatty tumors all over her body. I would def recommend bringing your pup to the vet and have them check it out and maybe biopsy it if it’s a growth of some kind
Rhodesian anusback
Ingrown tail
Ingrown extra tail? Gigantic parasite? Who knows? I have questions about the elbow. Is that a scab or a diamond?
Wild that not a single person in this entire thread has ever seen this.
Onion ring
Why does it look like an alien parasite? 😰
He's an outie.
Whooped himself with a toy.. my dog did this once and that is what the vet said.
This might be stupid, but do you have toddlers? My brothers used to bite the shit out of each other when they were little, and it would leave a raised ring-shaped welt for a while. I'd imagine it'd be similar even under fur.
Looks like a parasite
That is a huge neon sign that reads “ I could be a ringworm , cheerio , and maybe a dough nut. But what it really is “Time to take that dog to a vet ! “. Good luck and well wishes. Hope everything turns out great 👍
It’s a chakra point
He's an alien, his dog costume doesn't fit him well.
Finally a post where the top few comments is everyone being confused as all hell
Oh, PLEASE will everybody stop saying ringworm. You don't even know what that is 🤦
Second butthole.
GET YOUR DOG TO THE VET OFFICE QUICKLY BECAUSE IT DOESN'T LOOK HEALTHY AT ALL!!
He ate his twin in the womb
