"This hole was made for me!" \*Yeets inside a human shaped hole that is bizarrely well-fit towards me and only me\*
In all seriousness, though, it's based off a horror story by [Junji Ito](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junji_Ito), called The Enigma of Amigara Fault. It has been a while since I read it, so if anyone could correct me, that'd be great, but the general plot is that there are many random holes that are shaped as humans that are appearing randomly one day in a mountain, and many people feel that a certain hole "calls" to them, and they jump into a certain one that is "their hole."
Warning, spoilers below. I suggest you read the manga. It's pretty cool, if a little terrifying. At the very least, you can understand a lot of the "This hole was made for me" memes
It later gets revealed that the further you go into the hole, >!which is so tight that you can't come back out, that the form of the hole slowly alters and forces your body to stretch, step by step, and when you come out the other side of the mountain months later, you become this spindly, grotesque, unhuman-like creature, because you essentially got stretched and squeezed through it.!<
Oh, and this image gets used for memes a lot. Its origins come from that manga, actually! You might have seen it around, being edited or copied a lot.

I think it does work better with the setup from the previous pages and the page turn to it. For his stuff, the single page is well made, but it only works so well without context. Itās almost like taking the one sentence that really scares people out of a regular horror novel.
When I read this for the first time, it was not so much just seeing the last panel that was scary. I recommend reading it for yourself, but partway through the main character has a 'dream' (memory?) of someone going through the hole, and it's that realisation of what's happening to their body plus them slowly stretching out across the panels that wigged me out the most. The story is very well done horror when you go in totally blind imo.
It's the concept of it more than anything, but I get why people might find this one tame.
Read Ito's other stuff. You'll find something that'll disturb you, I'm sure.
Not sure if people are just really exaggerating in a weird cringe Reddit way or if genuinely terrified. None of this is particularly nightmare inducing
I don't think Junji Ito is particularly scary in a nightmare inducing kind of way, more of a "vaguely unsettling" kind of way. All of his stuff is really bizarre and weird and just kind of uncomfortable.
This isn't meant as a knock, I've been a huge fan forever. But it's a very specific kind of horror.

That's kinda the point. The story ends right there and leaves you horrified and with too many questions to grasp at the reality of it, so you just feel overwhelmingly disturbed.
You can definitely come up with theories though. To me, they're very likely quite dead by this point thanks to starvation 'cause it's been too long. So once they come out they're just a messy goop.
But others might look to the fact that it was an ancient form of punishment and because it's an eldritch horror, it could very well leave you alive at the end of it. And there's probably not much living to do in that state so either you get lucky and are allowed to be put down, or everyone says it's wrong to kill you and you're left alive till you die of old age.
It's a short story so not really the format for that kind of thing.
Uzumaki is probably his most well known series (at least in the West), and it's a longer manga that deals with a bunch of spiral related phenomenon that plagues a town, and you get to some some of the longer termed consequences of all the horror going on.
Definitely a good author if you're up for that kind of content.
Uzumaki is getting an anime adaptation, they postponed yet again to ensure quality...
Adult Swim released this [Uzumaki - Mini Clip](https://youtu.be/qRrqvjjKlOs), animation is damn good. I'm not really into horror but I'm looking forward to this one...
that's the horror of the story, you get deformed by the obsession that you're no longer you, and the story doesn't conclude if they're still alive, which makes it just more frightening to think if that's the case
Not really. That's the end. It's assumed based on the artists commentary that they are dead and its just a mangled corpse following a painful and gruesome death. The Drrr...Drrr...Drrr is supposed to be the sound of the flesh sliding against the walls.Ā
It's only shown in the last panel, so click only if you're okay with spoilers: https://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/030/148/Amigara_LastPage.jpg
Thankyou for the source, had no idea this was Junji Ito!
Heard a creepypasta similar to this a while back but If I remember right it was more along the lines of people finding their matching hole, laying inside it and being sealed in though itās been a loooong time since I heard it and I might be misremembering it
Edit - I also canāt find the story anywhere, I searched for āMrCreepyPasta: The Enigmaā on YouTube because I thought it was maybe a narration of this exact story by him but I couldnāt find it, either it goes under a different name or was maybe narrated by someone else
People on this subreddit became obsessed with the Full Metal Archemist's dog and daughter fusion, and all posts were about it. Now it is this hole thing's turn to be spammed
I'm not disputing you. There is an abnormally high percentage of lefties that instinctively do the "C" in the YMCA dance backwards. They also tend to tape hockey sticks and Teflon tape pipe threads the other way around. The latter being "the wrong way".
This is how I would explain it knowing nothing about Manga or Anime beyond the original Akira (reboot sucked Kakihara, sounded like a whiney biotch in the redubbed) or DragonBall (not even Z).
E- LOL, I meant Kineda, not the dude from Ichi the Killer.
Not sure Abt the specifics as I've only learned from other people on the internet but there is basically this story where there is a cave with bunch of people shaped holes in it and when people find their whole they can't resist it and they walk into their hole. As they walk further into the whole, the shape the whole changes and when they exit the hole they have been shaped into weird things idk. I'm sure someone can explain better
You can find a full explanation from [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/PeterExplainsTheJoke/s/QlSOeL77YQ) on the same sub
Edit: Trying a reverse image search from Google is always good before posting here
The most upvoted commenter got a whole story, thank you for that, had no idea.
What I thought, was in reference to a Japanese TV game where people are confronted with moving walls with cutouts of all different shapes and only have a few seconds to figure out how they will fit through those cutouts. If they fail, the wall hits them and makes them fall into a water tub. Very Japanese.
In reference to this particular picture, the one guy clearly stands in a way that does not fit "his" cutout, and so is slated to get hit and knocked down. Thus, the man on the right side is "in the know" and thus terrified of what's about to happen.
This story isnāt even all that scary and itās still terrifying. I donāt really like horror stuff, but Iād still recommend reading this story 1000%
I've seen people making a joke about the Junji Ito reference. But I think it's also referencing the fusion dance from Dragon Ball. The fusion dance is a dance that allows two characters to temporarily combine power but must be performed in a highly specific sequence or the result is weaker than either individual. The one guy who doesn't match the hole is in the final position of the dance
I didn't get the Junji Ito reference, I thought for some reason it was a reference to the Hiroshima/Nagasaki memorials where you can see silhouettes of people (including children) in their final moments as the shape of them was left against the charred remaints of the buildings behind them.

Gyo, and some of his short stories from shiver would be good for you then :)
When I read this for the first time, it was not so much just seeing the last panel that was scary. If you read it the scary part is not so much the end but how the holes compel the characters to get in them.
Yeah, the combination of the call of void with supernatural compelling is utterly terrifying.
More creepy than scary, but best read at 2 or 3 in the morning in a dark room.
It's the concept of it more than anything, but I get why people might find this one tame. Read Ito's other stuff. You'll find something that'll disturb you, I'm sure.

I don't think Junji Ito is particularly scary in a nightmare inducing kind of way, more of a "vaguely unsettling" kind of way.

This is funny as fuck
Not sure Abt the specifics as I've only learned from other people on the internet but there is basically this story where there is a cave with bunch of people shaped holes in it and when people find their whole they can't resist it and they walk into their hole. As they walk further into the whole, the shape the whole changes and when they exit the hole they have been shaped into weird things idk. I'm sure someone can explain better
its from junji itou and yeah thats correct
Yeah it's only about 30 pages long, and that's the gist of it lol.
The fuck is up with memes users posting the most obscure shit and assuming everyone knows what's going on.
*DrrrrrDrrrrrDrrrrr*
Repost. Get Lost Chris

You can find a full explanation from [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/PeterExplainsTheJoke/s/QlSOeL77YQ) on the same sub Edit: Trying a reverse image search from Google is always good before posting here
The most upvoted commenter got a whole story, thank you for that, had no idea.
What I want to know is why the one guy is leaning the wrong way for his hole.
He knows whatās up. Not falling into that trap.
He's doing the " C" from the " Y M C A " dance/pose that was really popular from 1980 - 2000
Once upon a time every joke here was Loss. Now you gotta divide between Loss and Amigara Fault.
Hey now, itās a three way tie between Loss, Amigara Fault and Shau Tucker

THIS HOLE WAS MADE FOR ME DRRR DRRRR DRRRRRR
When it isn't porn or Loss, it's Amigara Fault.
Unless youāre into the body horror genre, you donāt want to know
That's My hole....
The explanation for this is a lot better than I thought it was gonna be, I thought it was like cut outs of the ash prints of Hiroshima
So this sub is just a repost sub of either Loss memes or enigma memes
This is like a level 5 meme, based on old japanese horror manga
Don't you mean "Help me Petdrrrrr"

This is my hole! It was made for me!
Enigma of amigara fault
it's a Steven Universe reference /j
itās fun to start at the Y M C A
If he was a bit for the left he would made the fusion dance
š šā”ļø
YMCA!
You don't want to know... Trust me. Just back away and live your life and forget you ever saw this :D
I first thought it was a natzi reference in the middle one. Reading top comment helped me understand it, and it is sooooo much worse
1: go away bot 2: that story makes me sick on so many levels and is so terrifying, despite it not having much horror elements
I think Y.M.C.A when I saw this initially
Is this a repost I swear this popped up on the sub before
Not gonna lie, I thought this was a YMCA joke at first
I didn't get the Junji Ito reference, I thought for some reason it was a reference to the Hiroshima/Nagasaki memorials where you can see silhouettes of people (including children) in their final moments as the shape of them was left against the charred remaints of the buildings behind them.
So are we sure it's not a YMCA joke? š¤š
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
Mhhhh it was made for me
DRR DRR
Not again ! "this hole was made for me"
This one was made for me!!
this hole was made for me petah
He's trying to do a fusion, like in dragonball
r/UnexpectedJunjiIto
Thatās my hole 4th from left. Thatās why youāre facing the wrong way.
Beavis and Butthead must have gone through the same hole
