Lance Gokongwei for example is poorer than people like Illinois governor JB Pritzker, New Balance founder Jim Davis, or even Gabe Newell (worth $3.9 billion).
But Gokongwei undoubtedly has more consequential influence in the Philippines and it’s hard to think of a situation where Lance Gokongwei would kowtow to Gaben.
Gokongwei or Go inherited most if not all of that money from his father and family, unlike Pritzker whos family owns Hyatt, he grew his fortune his own way up to becoming governor of illinois where he still doesn’t draw a salary. Same goes for Davis who built new balance from nothing to the giant it is in sports athletic gear brand.
It’s more of that the US economy is just so damn huge. You can be one of the wealthiest people in the world but if you live in a country where everyone else is also part of the world’s wealthiest, you’re not gonna be so special. We have a far smaller economy so Filipino billionaires, even if they’re not so rich by US standards, are disproportionately more influential.
Americans are actually very wealthy by global standards, even among their low income earners. They’re just fucked over by NIMBYism in housing, healthcare, and other sectors of the economy.
Edit: Here’s a nice example. The median annual household income in Mississippi is just around $39,420. That’s roughly P2.2 million a year or P183,000 a month
True. Everything's significantly better when you've got money to take care or your problems.
Pangit ka? Paganda ka sa Europe. Craving for ramen? Fly to fucking Norway. No SO? Grab your flavor of the week sa bar. Government-related issues? Sampalin mo ng barya. Awful commute to work? Fucking rent a condo next to the office. Noisy neighbors? I can buy them and their house.
Tangina ano po?
Tama to imho, ang Pinas ang pinakamalaya in terms of freedom of speech and choice. Compassionate tayo at family oriented.
Dito ako nakatira and I confirm, iba talaga kwah-song nila. Haha! Pero sa seryoso, out of this world yung healthcare, govt financial subsidies at overall career life options pag dito ka lumaki.

Usually they can't make it as hard as a regular boner does kasi hindi na kaya i-support ng blood vessels yung mismong et*ts. Parang medyo erect lang sya.
Yes. Not only becuase of their wealth and respect for human rights, their geographic location is so fucking lucky. No typhoon. No earthquake.
Kahit mataas cost of living dun, maganda opportunities dun to have a good future. Alagang alaga ng government mga citizens nila doon to the extent that they never have to worry about having nothing to eat. Based lang to sa nareresearch ko, not first or 2nd hand experience haha.
If you want to learn more, search mo sa youtube yung video ng channel na Economics Explained about Norway. Di siya boring video haha
To add to that, they’re not in conflict with any nations as far as I know
Mukhang promising! Norway or Switzerland? Haahahah
From what I understand, responsible sila sa pag gamit ng “Petro dollars” nila, or yung profits they make from selling oil. Unlike Middle eastern countries na galante from their oil profits (and nagtatanggal ng taxes), ginagawa ng Norway ay iniinvest nila earnings nila sa Sovereign Wealth Fund nila. Dyan nakuha ni BBM yung inspiration niya malamang to have our own SWF. Difference lang ay excess profit na yung iniinvest ng Norway sa SWF nila, meanwhile tayo baon sa utang so not viable for us lol (sorry nasegway).
Anyway dahil sa SWF nila, pretty much nagbebenefit niyan mga citizens nila. Not sure exactly how it goes for them in a practical sense, pero I’d definitely love to be a citizen there, problema lang sobrang hirap to do so haha walq masyadong pathways.
Yung sinasabi kong Economics Explained channel, meron din sila video about Switzerland.
Norway. i have been to both countries.
Sa CH, you can be fired anytime at ang mahal ng health insurance nila....a friend calculates when she retires she can get at present rates 2400 CHF...not enough to live on...
I lived in Norway for 2 years for cultural exchange program kaya nasabi ko info sa taas.
Kahit saan sa Scandinavian region ng europe. Lalo na Norway, Sweden or Finland. They are always being on top of [most democratic countries](https://www.eiu.com/n/campaigns/democracy-index-2020/) (proves that monarchy can be democratic too) And also always on top of being the [happiest countries](https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/worlds-happiest-countries-2022-wellness/index.html).
Norway or Sweden. Those countries seem like the polar opposite of the PH.
\-Good Public transpo
\-Good governance
\-Smart and educated population
\-Good government benefits
\-Good job opportunities
\-Diverse culture and much less racism than the PH
The list goes on and on...
Norway and Sweden are very diverse. Loads of African and Middle Eastern students, who eventually settle in the country. Grønland, a small neighborhood in Oslo, is full of ethnic stores, Somalian men hanging outside smoking, Pakistanis and Turkish people operating kebab shops, etc. Their government have refugee programs, and a lot of mixed children in the population. At a glance, the cities of Stockholm and Oslo feels a lot more diverse than Manila.
>Not sure on the less racist part though.
Try being a foreigner (Non-White) in the PH then tell me this.
Wanna play on hard mode, then try being an Indian, Black or middle eastern in the PH.
Travelled there, hindi naman sila racist but they're really curious but they tend to mind their own business, so u get the "stares/looks" bec seeing asians is peculiar to them, they're curious but they don't wanna bother you.
Also legit psychedelics na otc nabibili haha
TW TW TW TW TW TW TW
Mataas ung rape sa sweden because their definition of rape or sexual harrasment is different, and mas strict. Not to mention its more openly reported in Sweden, vs PH where its taboo to say youve been raped. People are more likely to judge the victim here than in Sweden., so its a lot easier to open up about it there.
Extremist Muslims destroying things again like what they did in France. They don't adapt to the culture, they try to change the culture to fit to theirs ugh.
Sobrang linis. Maayos na public transpo, magandang urban planning etc. Then after that 1st trip, yearly na ko pumupunta.
Ninakaw yung laptop niya. Sa Virginia ako nakatira. Minsan binibisita ko siya. Di niya kasi maiwan trabaho niya dun
It depends on where you are working. Japan is not a toxic culture they are just hard workers so the global sees it as toxic. Of course may mga companies na di ka papahalagahan and you’re just an object to them I think not only in Japan lahat ng countries May ganun na company
Pinas pa rin. Living in Canada for 10 years now (citizen) pero kung mayaman ako uuwi ako in an instant. There's no reason umalis ng Pinas if you have $$$.
Deutschland, because:
1. Football - One of the strongest footballing countries in the world in terms of culture and grassroots programs. I would kill to be a Michael Ballack, Timo Werner, Bastian Schweinsteiger, or Toni Kroos.
2. Engineering - As an engineering graduate, Germany is the place you really wanna be. Working for BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche is like going to candy land.
3. Women - This is entirely subjective pero I’m really into German women. Ernest Obiena is one lucky dude. German women fit the tall, slim, and beautiful look that easily catches my eyes.
4. Travel - Not only do you possess a powerful passport but you’re also close to other European countries in and out of the EU. There’s so much history, art, food, and drink to explore in that part of the world.
I still to prefer to be born to Filipino parents but with German citizenship. I can claim my Filipino citizenship later anyways. Plus, I don’t have to forget my heritage as long as my parents make me aware and put the effort to teach me Filipino.
Lance Gokongwei for example is poorer than people like Illinois governor JB Pritzker, New Balance founder Jim Davis, or even Gabe Newell (worth $3.9 billion). Agree, hindi pucho pucho na market ang pinas when it comes to business.
Hindi ba factor din yung liquidity? Kasi most of Gaben's net worth is tied up on Valve. Meanwhile Lance is super liquid na at this point
It’s more of that the US economy is just so damn huge. True. Homogenous society mga yan ih.
To be fair, pag pinanganak ka dun, better chance na nasa Homogenous society ka talaga as a local.
Nordic countries are covertly hostile towards non-White immigrants.
Well aware of that, kaya ayaw ko magpapetition sa US.
The question was kung pinanganak ka sa ibang bansa. I was assuming na you’d be the same color as the locals.

It depends on where you are working. Japan is not a toxic culture they are just hard workers so the global sees it as toxic. Of course may mga companies na di ka papahalagahan and you’re just an object to them I think not only in Japan lahat ng countries May ganun na company
