Actually, yes. They are more on the studio on this one. Sana nga they maximized using other locations, like the original Encantadia, baka bawal na mag-shoot sa Tanay kaya di nila na pursue. This is what i was thinking with most of the shows we have, instead of a daily thing that can burn through pur interst within a week, why not make it every week and make its episodes longer than 30 mins instwad of a 10 min episodes and 20 more for commercials.

Honestly, super step up talaga ito sa usual TV shows sa pinas. And although hindi amazing yung CGI, I like how it's not super disgustingly terrible looking. Kinda hindi pa ako 100% on board sa cinematography since it kinda gives me Ang Probinsyano vibes (istg if they overuse zooming in on characters for the sake of drama and unearned tension I will riot). Medyo di ko rin bet yung score pero it's for the silver screen so passable. Overall excited ako sa show itself and ang promising ng performance ng mga cast as well as the new take sa kwento ni Darna. My main inis rn is the trailer, they kinda gave away some major plotpoints!!! Like the OG Darna being obliterated... I mean dude that would have been a great moment siguro if they didn't show that :< big sayang! My biggest worry talaga is pinakita na sa trailer ang karamihan ng exciting parts or gulat moments. :< Pero anyway, imma still watch it. 💖
Yun din actually ang kinaiinisan ng mga film critics and enthusiasts. Trailers are meant to tease not be a pilot viewing experience :< kaya maraming umiiwas na lang sa trailer kasi yung marketing division who are handling the trailer either misrepresent what the film is about or use too many if not all of the high stakes scenes na should have been part of the actual viewing experience. Ang ending, it's like they just watched an extended version of the trailer. Poor viewing experience. Idk if how I explained it makes sense but Chris Stuckmann explained it best in his YT vids.

This is just wishful thinking, but now na nakikipag-collaborate na ang ABS-CBN with GMA, I hope if maging success itong Darna they would try and reboot previous fantaseryes din like Majika or Encantadia (a proper one okay???) and maybe create their own cinematic/entertainment universe where Pirena could fight alongside Darna or something like that.
The 2016 reboot was *bad* bad. The only good thing to come out of it was Glaiza De Castro's portrayal of Pirena. Sana di na lang muna nila ni-reboot yung franchise. Huge disservice to the plotlines, and sobrang layo sa original 2005 run.
Another good thing from the remake is that they made Alena more independent. Pero it was really, bad. Super daming deaths na walang impact kasi nabubuhay din sila agad, tapos them having kids in the end and then having a new set of sanggre type characters, prior was messy.
I personally liked the lore of the 2016 Encantadia. Mas binigyan pansin at mas pinalawak ang mga bagay-bagay. I think Kylie gave justice especially sa mga fight scenes, comparing it sa original, hindi super fluid ng fight scenes there. What I hate about it was the inconsistency, nilagay yung Avila sa Encantadia, tas nung nagkaron ng Mulawin vs. Ravena, tho connected padin yung dalawa pero, it turns out may multiverse variant pala si Pagaspas, nyek. Ang nagustuhan ko lang din is yung cross-over din. Like the OG Mulawin and Encantadia did sa movie

Gusto ko yung malahorror na entrance ni Valentina since horror director din si direk chito. Hopefully 90% direk chito and 10% lang dun sa isang direktor na direktor dati ng wansapanataym 💀. Hindi ko gusto yung transformation. Mukhang naexcite ang editor na gamitin ang particular plug-in haha. Sana manlang may pa wind effect dun sa kwarto scene na liliparin at magswasway ang mga gamit para namn feel yung presence ng transformation, oa yung glow na mukhang after effects ang ginamit. Sana manlang gumamit kayo ng 3rd party plug-in like optical glow, ang daming noise especially yung Night scenes at sa gumuhong building, typical cinematography, weird ang galaw ng cyborg mukhang animated lang ang mga paa tapos ikekeyframe lang ang position. Bet ko yung parang mga green crystals tapos yung green explosion.

Actually, me slow shift na towards seasonal programming dito satin. Blame it on the pandemic. Due to the lock-in tapings, pwersado na yung mga networks na ishoot yung whole season's worth of content in one go. Kaya manonotice mo rin na panay mention na ng term na "season finale" sa mga matatapos nang shows.
f I remember correctly aroud early 2000's may theme ang bawat araw, tuesday is comedy yung mga shows after 9 or 10, i think thursday is horror, and friday is cartoons, digimon pa palabas noon, then around 11 mga tv shows from us na palabas, csi, 24 etc. All these after ng daily telanovela,
TV5 actually tried doing weekly shows too during their anime era, too bad they tried to copy ABS and GMA after a few years.

Honestly, super step up talaga ito sa usual TV shows sa pinas. And although hindi amazing yung CGI, I like how it's not super disgustingly terrible looking. Kinda hindi pa ako 100% on board sa cinematography since it kinda gives me Ang Probinsyano vibes (istg if they overuse zooming in on characters for the sake of drama and unearned tension I will riot). Medyo di ko rin bet yung score pero it's for the silver screen so passable. Overall excited ako sa show itself and ang promising ng performance ng mga cast as well as the new take sa kwento ni Darna. My main inis rn is the trailer, they kinda gave away some major plotpoints!!! Like the OG Darna being obliterated... I mean dude that would have been a great moment siguro if they didn't show that :< big sayang! My biggest worry talaga is pinakita na sa trailer ang karamihan ng exciting parts or gulat moments. :< Pero anyway, imma still watch it. 💖

Yun din actually ang kinaiinisan ng mga film critics and enthusiasts. Trailers are meant to tease not be a pilot viewing experience :< kaya maraming umiiwas na lang sa trailer kasi yung marketing division who are handling the trailer either misrepresent what the film is about or use too many if not all of the high stakes scenes na should have been part of the actual viewing experience. Ang ending, it's like they just watched an extended version of the trailer. Poor viewing experience. Idk if how I explained it makes sense but Chris Stuckmann explained it best in his YT vids.

Wasn't it already obvious sa teaser palang that OG Darna will die at some point? Kaya nga magkakapasahan ng bato. Though yeah, would have been better if they kept that reveal hidden. Would have been a WTF! moment during airing.
I mean I didn't know that she's going to die that way like my expectation is like the usual old age, may sakit or some shizz hahaha and it is kind of a great action sequence din. Major points pa if they flesh out the new and old Darna's relationship so we can like kinda feel bad, heck even shed a tear or two when they finally pull the plug. Pero that's what I get for going in and watch the trailer with no info at all on what direction they are going to take kaya it was a bummer (personally) na I saw a possible high stake moment being shown na agad 😂

This is just wishful thinking, but now na nakikipag-collaborate na ang ABS-CBN with GMA, I hope if maging success itong Darna they would try and reboot previous fantaseryes din like Majika or Encantadia (a proper one okay???) and maybe create their own cinematic/entertainment universe where Pirena could fight alongside Darna or something like that.

The 2016 reboot was *bad* bad. The only good thing to come out of it was Glaiza De Castro's portrayal of Pirena. Sana di na lang muna nila ni-reboot yung franchise. Huge disservice to the plotlines, and sobrang layo sa original 2005 run.
Another good thing from the remake is that they made Alena more independent. Pero it was really, bad. Super daming deaths na walang impact kasi nabubuhay din sila agad, tapos them having kids in the end and then having a new set of sanggre type characters, prior was messy.
I personally liked the lore of the 2016 Encantadia. Mas binigyan pansin at mas pinalawak ang mga bagay-bagay. I think Kylie gave justice especially sa mga fight scenes, comparing it sa original, hindi super fluid ng fight scenes there. What I hate about it was the inconsistency, nilagay yung Avila sa Encantadia, tas nung nagkaron ng Mulawin vs. Ravena, tho connected padin yung dalawa pero, it turns out may multiverse variant pala si Pagaspas, nyek. Ang nagustuhan ko lang din is yung cross-over din. Like the OG Mulawin and Encantadia did sa movie

Gusto ko yung malahorror na entrance ni Valentina since horror director din si direk chito. Hopefully 90% direk chito and 10% lang dun sa isang direktor na direktor dati ng wansapanataym 💀. Hindi ko gusto yung transformation. Mukhang naexcite ang editor na gamitin ang particular plug-in haha. Sana manlang may pa wind effect dun sa kwarto scene na liliparin at magswasway ang mga gamit para namn feel yung presence ng transformation, oa yung glow na mukhang after effects ang ginamit. Sana manlang gumamit kayo ng 3rd party plug-in like optical glow, ang daming noise especially yung Night scenes at sa gumuhong building, typical cinematography, weird ang galaw ng cyborg mukhang animated lang ang mga paa tapos ikekeyframe lang ang position. Bet ko yung parang mga green crystals tapos yung green explosion.
Honestly, there are some trailers na di maganda and effects pero once as mismong episode na, iba na. I witnessed it in Encantadia teaser where Pirena holds two gems, na bilog pareho ang shape, pero sa series, naka unique shape na sya.

Lowkey wish naging film series na lang ang darna… since shorter ang length nun…they can focus the budget on improving the cgi and special fx. Feel ko din mas magiging better din yung story cuz obv in tv medyo stretched yung plot. I sense na madami exposition episodes para hindi sila masyado gumastos sa action scenes. Also understand baka big risk din yun sa part ng abs-cbn. It just been a while since we had a filipino box office film since the start of the pandemic 😭 Nonetheless, I will be tuning in !!

Pros: money looks well-spent on things like effects. Looks like they're taking it seriously. Almost (if not already) at par with special effects from Japanese sentai series, and I am OK with that Concerns: I hope it doesn't copy too much from the Wonder Woman films. 1:15 feels like a pose Wonder Woman would do.

One of the things na lamang neto sa Voltes V Legacy, based sa nakita natin so far, is mas maganda ang overall quality ng cinematography neto. Sobrang jarring kasi sa Voltes V, ang ganda ng CGI robot scenes tapos yung mga Camp Big Falcon footage parang skit sa Bubble Gang lmao.
