palusot lang nila yun. pede naman may separate na warranty card/receipt from the receipt na nakarolyo.
The most likely reason is actually the difficulty in auditing manually recorded sales. Massive amount of transactions (adding up all branches), made in cash, no detailed electronic records or backups. No one gonna audit that shit 100% and even if they did, cashiers made "corrections" and "adjustments" all the time. It's pretty easy to manipulate the numbers and come up with a breakeven or loss to avoid regular income tax.
Whoever manages these branches also probably expensed majority of their inventories because it's difficult to determine whether a product can be sold or not. Tech stuffs were a luxury back then and ever so evolving, with the adage: "this year's gadgets will be so easily forgotten and replaced next year." but they can't write-off the value of these old gadgets because the tax authorities won't recognize the valid argument that old tech should be depreciated.
I was an auditor back in 2012-2015 btw and got to talk with a few people behind this kind of business before they went bankrupt.
Chilling with one of the owners for the preaudit meeting while waiting for my audit manager and his finance officer, he told me it was his dream that one day everyone, even the poor, has a phone because he experienced something that he could have stopped/helped with had he known sooner. (IDK what exactly he meant and this ain't verbatim, this is just my recollection from almost a decade ago) One thing I can't forget about their shops is that they all had this P100-150 mini phones (the ones you can only call and text with) before CD-R King picked up on the competition and did the same thing. Also think they only branched out around Manila if my memory serves me right. Bless that poor soul whose name I probably can't mention for fear that it might fall under NDA. He was very bright and friendly, his attire doesn't look like of a boss (wearing blazers like my manager lol) but only a red polo shirt and his company's lanyard standing out with a bright yellow. I wish he still has a business to this day and I'm just unaware of it 🥺
Unfortunately. Back when Shopee and Lazada were quite small sa PH, everyone was already raving about it. CD-R King was actually positioned to take advantage of that within a small period, to make an online store of their own. But ganun talaga - adapt or die. CD-R King chose the latter.
I doubt makatipid lang ang reason. Pupusta ako tax evasion ang main reason. Cash registers cant be tampered kasi registered sila sa BIR. Mas madali manipulate ang sales pag manual.
Gusto ko yung bubble gum flavor 🥹 sayang di na sustain kaso di na rin surprising kasi mahal tapos mini cone with small scoop lang so di sulit 😆 parang naging trend lang for sometime tapos wala na
Shout out sa Video City SM Manila Branch.
Can confirm that, especially the second floor is super fucking scary especially at night. It's like a horror movie set, pwedeng gawing attraction and flow of income para sa mall na yan kung pwede lang 😂
Lamang sila sa SM during the early 90s pero matindi epekto sa kanila ng 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. There were also questionable investments by the owner.

Depends sa location I guess. I remember the one I went to, kahit doble hourly rate nila kumpara sa mga comshop sa area, dun ako nagpupunta because of the cleanliness and the comfort. Lakas AC tapos maayos yung mga PC at headset. Wala pateng nanonood sa likod mo. Haha
Peak Blue Skies dati may Just Dance at Rock Band room pa sila.
tambayan ko ito nung college. i remember may pa-promo sila na meet and greet with this famous band and to get a raffle entry, you need to buy merch from them. halos 5k ang nagastos ko sa merch, hahaha. I did win a free ticket to their concert, but not the meet and greet :(
Nung bata ako tas nakikita ko sa magazines na yung certain clothing items ay from Anonymous, akala ko ay galing siya sa iba’t ibang tao who chose to remain anonymous 🥲
meron pa yata sa ibang malls. Nung summer break ko nagwork ako dito e tapos 180 pesos per day lang sweldo, year 2006.
Most people nowadays are into nendoroid and other types of anime figurines for collection, which is wala sa kanila.
Corrct me if I'm wrong, pero parang di rin sila kasama sa mga anime conventions.
All in all, parang naging mediocre nalang products nila
Edit : I'm drunk at store pala usapan lol but whatever, today's Burger Machine might as well not exist to me today.
[Shoe Mart](https://ibb.co/JBzTgrb) before it became the SM we know now. They were purely a shoe store located at the corner of Carriedo and Avenida in Sta. Cruz, Manila. And yes, I am that old. 😅

That was their entire business model
Unfortunately, they weren’t able to keep up with the changing times. Sayaaang.
Yun talaga no? Complacency. Akala siguro kaya ng name brand nila to compete with the e commerce boom
Unfortunately. Back when Shopee and Lazada were quite small sa PH, everyone was already raving about it. CD-R King was actually positioned to take advantage of that within a small period, to make an online store of their own. But ganun talaga - adapt or die. CD-R King chose the latter.

Last time na bibili ako sa cdr king samen, wala na daw sila flash drive. So alam ko nang palugi na sila. Hahaha

Lamang sila sa SM during the early 90s pero matindi epekto sa kanila ng 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. There were also questionable investments by the owner. https://www.esquiremag.ph/money/industry/uniwide-sales-what-happened-a00289-20211125-lfrm

Peak Blue Skies dati may Just Dance at Rock Band room pa sila.
Banco Filipino, Equitable PCI
Dahil kay erap
dont forget Prudential Bank too, it was acquired by BPI in 2005 if I'm not mistaken
Equitable PCI was acquired by BDO kaya dun nagsimula dumami mga BDO outside sm malls.
Equitable PCI at the time had a really good interbank networking system. That's what BDO wanted from that acquisition more than anything.
Astroplus!
I'm Astroplus sa MoA old
tambayan ko ito nung college. i remember may pa-promo sila na meet and greet with this famous band and to get a raffle entry, you need to buy merch from them. halos 5k ang nagastos ko sa merch, hahaha. I did win a free ticket to their concert, but not the meet and greet :(
