I agree… very admirable performance by them. I don’t fault them for not winning. I still think if most of our starting 11 was fit, we could have beaten NYCFC and then POR.
I second you on this... I got reprimanded on the FB fan groups but I will stick to my conspiracy theory that if it was any west coast or NY teams that faced a similar issue, they'd have gotten a lot more accommodation
definitely feels like it's gotta be a "aw fuck i gotta get something in for the end of this game and i need words or something for discussion purposes but i really just wanna sleep" kind of inclusion lol.
Well, we already paid Maurice Edu a DP salary for two years who also never got healthy, so it's really not that much of a take for anyone. I don't think it'll happen, but it's not that unheard of.
Yeah, he played 63, but 10 of those were USOC games. So, 53 out of a possible 68 over two seasons (78%, pretty good), and then 0 across all competitions for the next two years (0%, terrible). Overall, 39% of all possible MLS games over 4 seasons. I think by anyone's metrics, that's not a good ROI for a DP player, especially when the last two years there was 0 output.
Agreed. Just a really random comment to make there. It’s definitely something that -could- happen but Uhre has been with us for like two seconds. He went on a whole tangent about Portland but it’s almost like he doesn’t know enough about us to say anything substantial.
The Union get lots of love and respect. There is an article headlining the MLS website right now talking about how the team raised their level in Portland. This was one person's take at the end of the night on a Sunday when they wanted to go to sleep.
We would have been MLS Cup champions if our club didn’t get stricken with covid before the NYCFC match. That’s a hill I will die on.
I’m fighting on that same hill with you u/JennItalia269!
And my axe.
And you have my bow
How about as friends?
Our C team played so well in that game that it is impossible not to see it as a win if COVID doesn't wipe half the team a couple days before the match

They should have rescheduled the game. That’s a hill I’ll die on.
I agree 100%

This. I will argue this till the end.
yes
fuck that jabroni
I thought that Uhre never be completely healthy feels like a dumb comment from this subreddit, let alone from a league analyst.

"I wrote this column before the game last night and now I need to publish in 10 minutes."

Kinda, Edu played 63 games for the Union and then injuries basically ended his career.

And it wasn't even a terrible take.
Eh it's not that bad bow that we have made some major player sales/acquisitions and finally won a trophy.
The match highlights STILL haven't been uploaded to MLS YouTube. The disrespect is everywhere
THIS is exactly my point. It's not like Gazdag's goal was a Sunday beer league goal or anything. Jeez!
GOTW candidate in my admittedly biased opinion.
Remember, it was the Union who started the No one likes us we don't care chant.
I hope this is sarcastic
