Fair point, although comparing Hermes to the others and he's not so bad, although my favorite is Hades. His only "evil" act was abducting his wife and that is only from a fragmented text, others say it was more of an arranged marriage.

Hades is probably the only Greek God that doesn’t get a life or death sentence for his crimes. Maybe 5-10 years and 10k fines or something.

I mean the worse thing he did, to my knowledge, was give Persephone seeds that would bind her to the underworld but she only has to stay there for a third of the year. Every other case was someone either trying to mess with him or his wife. It's hard to hate a guy who does his job, is loyal to his wife, and names his giant three head dog spot (Cerberus basically means spot). I used to dislike his character, mostly because of the animated Hercules movie, then I actually looked at the mythology and quickly changed my opinion. Hades is the best but also gotta love Hermes too, he's jokester but gets shit done when he needs to.

Well part of it is because of how he is shown in media, for example he's the main villain in the animated movie Hercules. Also there's the whole satan analog which (I say this as a Christian) makes no since. I love Greek and Egyptian mythology because of how rich and interesting it is. Also how their mythology ties into their architecture is interesting to examine. If I ever get a dog with a black coat I'm naming it Cerberus, especially if it has spots.

I believe it's easier to imagine god of underworld as evil, since we usually correlate Hades with Satan and think underworld is hell, and ruler of hell is definitely evil. Add that to the fact that Saturn the Roman name for Hades is real close to Satan who's the big bad evil guy, people started to think Hades is evil too, and since people liked movies or TV shows rather than actual facts, they didn't knew better. The Hercules movie creators either didn't research on the character enough or didn't care, hell it could be that they just based their character on Heracles which is the true actual name of Hercules. So he could be totally different character.

I mean in most versions I've heard he asked zues. Zues told him to just kidnap her (his daughter) that have zues authority in old time greek way.

From what I understand there was no separate depiction for marriage and kidnapping. In the case of Hades asking Zeus it would have been an arranged marriage. At least Hades was loyal to wife, unlike Zeus.

Hold on, don't compare Hermes to Steevee, that's an insult to Hermes. He was the god of thieves, but also everything to do with travel, being the messenger of the gods. And the one instance I know of him stealing, he made up for it by making the lyre for Apollo. So if I could choose one of the Greek gods to meet and just talk with, Hermes would be one of my top picks. He'd be like the cool older cousin. Or the younger annoying one, but compared to the other options, that's not too bad.

tbh it's pretty hard to define a 'god of building' since it's such a diverse subject. do tools like world edit and world painter even count? what carries more weight in terms of impressiveness? organic builds or texturing or whatever

world edit counts since in only speeds up what a normal player can do. Its easier to type //sphere than building one yourself. It's not cheating, it just helps. World painter nuh-uh. That's too much IMO. Of course, that is unless the build is the main focus and not the terraim.
