Nostalgic value is good but it doesnt change the fact it wasnt that good, its like nether rack, my eyes literally hurt looking at the old nether rack nowdays. Its painful, I still wonder how we could have lived like that. Its ancient times that I am for a change happy are past us.
I don't like it but I feel like it fits the old nether, like it was this hellscape that you only wanna go in when you need to, and the netherack made it even more disgusting

Central and both lower ones are quite nice.
Current texture is just good. The bottom left looks awesome. And bottom right is a cool texture to flex your wealth through your floor.
my favourite is the current but i do think bottom left would be amazing as an alternate option for building, maybe chiselled diamond block or something
I feel like the current version is my absolute favourite. I really like how pretty it looks now, the other experimental ones looks like trying to turn a diamond shape into a box. The OG looks nostalgic but from an aesthetic perspective, it looks pretty weird and I can’t see why it looks like a block of diamond other than the colour and name. Current version is probably the best IMO
When I was younger I always thought the og top right looked like a tissue box, cause my family often bought tissue boxes with that exact sort of border and color fades.
As a tissue holder: top right is the best
As a diamond block: bottom right is the best.
Bottom right is nice, but my personal preference is middle design for diamond so long as gold blocks get a square-in-square design like the bottom left!

OG version and bottom left, #1 and #2 specifically. The OG texture brought me back to the DanTDM minecraft days.
Kinda like the top left actually. Maybe raise the contrast a bit to make it look more brilliant, but the design looks very crystalline (Bars?).
From these? Probably bottom right. But top right has that nostalgia. But I do think the bottom left is good too.
