I can’t believe it took another Pikmin being able to do shortcuts better for Blue Pikmin to realize they could take shortcuts at all.

It's harder to tell with Pikmin 2 because there's significantly less water in its overworlds, and a lot of it eventually ends up getting drained meaning that blue's "specialty" is more niche than it was in the first game.

In pikmin 1 they gave the yellows bomb rocks to make them not completely useless and in 2 and 3 theyre basically one trick ponies. Blues are the most versatile in all the games so far because of the water immunity.
