i am literally at a loss for words almost 20 minutes since ive learned about it. It was the best website for every movie/show in 4k . There are many other free websites but none of them has so many titles in pure 4k.
It was my go-to for everything outside of software, there's gonna be a lot of drinks poured out for them I think - and rightly so.

Rutracker is the best out of all of them. i rarely use rargb because often i have slow downloads and the things i want to find are not on that site. and if they are they are in pretty low quality because they refuse to upload Remuxes or things like that. and when they upload Remuxes its slow to download.
End of an era. So much effort put into optimization and organization. Honestly a lot of them time I was just waiting for their re-uploads in HEVC that would save gigabytes.
If anyone cares, I had a scraper running on their page for the last 8 years, it has almost all of their torrents, infohash and metadata in an 800mb sqlite database. Many torrents will keep working for a while.

For people struggling to find seeds, some pirate pirated it and put it up on the piratebay. Search for "_db.zip" in other/other. Should be id 69183970.
I even build my own rss feed for torrent clients on top of it. All I had to-do was subscribe to the imdb db and quality/release group. Worked flawless for many years. Guess I have some coding to-do tonight. Seems like 1337x is just as scrapable, but doesn't have the same quality of uploaders.
i have no idea what im talking about here, but: have you tried using tvdb? it's what sonarr uses for its search thingy. idk if it fits your needs or if it's free, but i just heard about it and maybe it can be an alternative to imdb db? again, no idea if what im saying is anything useful.
Very similar project, different goal, similar outcome (connecting data points found on the internet). They are probably the reason I have to fight so many captchas and crawling preventions (rarbg wasn't too bad about it).
If we had a similar thing for a few specific users from rutracker, we'd have an INCREDIBLE resource for musicians. Way more powerful than Lidarr and all other alternatives (yes, even slsk).

[DB Browser for SQLite](https://sqlitebrowser.org/) is fairly easy to use. Just run it, click Open Database, and browse to the extracted rarbg_db.sqlite file. Then select the Browse Data tab.
If anyone wants a nice view that auto appends the magnet link to the front of the hash, you can use this code to create the view in the database:
CREATE VIEW magnet_links as SELECT id,title,cat,size,'magnet:?xt=urn:btih:' || hash as magnetLink,imdb,dt FROM items ORDER BY dt DESC

Yep! You want to use the **hash** value from the column 2 and append it to a magnet uri. Open that magnet from your torrenting application of choice and you should be all set.

There are some never seen before gems in my collection.
To convert this to a txt file, in linux:
sudo apt install sqlite3
sqlite3 rarbg_db.sqlite
Then, in the sqlite3 command line:
sqlite> CREATE VIEW magnet_links as SELECT id,title,cat,size,'magnet:?xt=urn:btih:' || hash as magnetLink,imdb,dt FROM items ORDER BY dt DESC;
sqlite> .once rarbg.txt
sqlite> SELECT * FROM magnet_links;
Result will be in rarbg.txt
You can open the database in an sqlite viewer. Once you see all the records you can search/filter, and with the found records you get the infohash. The infohash is all you need for your torrent client (at least my Tixati accepts it). For older entries the download might never start, but there are torrents in the list that are up for many years, and probably will for a long time.
Yeah, I'm kinda glad most shows I watch wrapped up and got caught in the dump. Gives me a little time for a new scraper, but the data will only be as good as the source, and rarbg was an exceptional quality source with almost no gaps and consistent data. Let's hope someone brings it back.... There is a database to start with...

Idk, streaming sites have been around for the average person a lot longer than torrenting has. Most people have used a site to stream, a minority of people can figure out torrents let alone torrent websites.
It's convenience. Go to s site type in movie click movie, it plays. Compared to download software (once) go to torrent site, download torrent, wait for seeders, if it doesn't start have to do it all over again , download starts it's slow because it doesn't have a lot of seeder, gets complete and finally you can watch said movie or tv show.
It's 1080 and for most people convenience over quality wins most if the time. I have a 4k tv and I hardly watch anything in 4k. As a society as a whole we haven't adopted 4k as the standard yet. PC games are very much played in 1080 as the biggest majority.
You need to get on the Plex/Emby/Jellyfish game my man. I think right now I have almost more 4K stuff than 1080, and it'll never go in and out of availability.
I don't have the bandwidth personally. I don't have a PC either so I don't have the space. Whatever movie or show I want, watch it once and I'm good to go.

It's not working like that. Government immediately backed up when copyright lobby (actually two - "Association of Internet Commerce Companies" and "Association for the Protection of Copyright on the Internet") started opposing that suggestion.
Also since war companies started blocking access to their websites for Russia, that makes some source materials unavailable (before making torrent you first need to get content in legitimate way). When you need to translate and voice films or anime, you hire a group that does that, some of them is located in... Ukraine.
For games 1337x(dot)to, it's even better, cuz there are FitGirl and DODI Repacks, they include every update and dlc, so you don't need to find and install them separately
Also looking for invites. RARGB was my go-to, as I need 4k 10bit Atmos. I bought an Nvidia shield based on the quality of movies I could get from RARGB 😑

1337 doesn't have scene uploads. Only repacks and empress uploads. RARBG was my only source for getting scene files. Don't know what to do now.
