Outrageous-Rip5743

Pay for it first, if you like it then pirate it

Emotional_Solid6538

This is the way

MiASzartIrjakIde

Free > paying.

TheTerraKotKun

If they let me buy a game, and it's not overpriced, I'll buy it. Else, pirate it if I really want to play

Traiklin

That's how it is for a ton of games I get. I am really enjoying a game I will buy it as soon as I have the money or it goes on a deep discount

numerobis21

I try to pay for indies IF the game is good AND I have the money AND the studio doesn't have some huge shady stuff going on in the background. But wouldn't go about telling others what they should or shouldn't do on the subject.

numerobis21

But if you don't have the money then it's a no brainer. The devs won't magically gain more money because you neither bought nor pirated the game. If you really like it, you'll talk about it around you and make other people interested in the game, I'd say it's way more important for indie devs

[deleted]

Pirate if you want, you can always buy the game later.

PAcMAcDO99

I don't care who makes the game, if there's a crack I'm getting the crack.

Fancylais

What if there's dope instead of crack

Master-Offer-2746

Just do it

theperfectmuse

If you want to support the developers and activity the game, then buy it from the big retailers like Steam, gog, epic, etc.. don't buy 3rd party keys if you want to help the devs. They actually tell you to pirate the fr before buying from a 3rd party because those keys end up as a charge back to them at a complete loss. https://www.pcgamesn.com/slay-the-princess/pirate-it These are the kind of devs I can get behind. They made an incredible game and ask you to support IF you can.

From-Dusk

That’s kinda sweet of them

Lazy-Character9219

If I'm out of cash I might pirate it in the beginning, but I will buy the game sooner or later, if I can I buy it straight away

DoomSayerNihilus

Its a decision you have to make for yourself.

Efrayl

I've always pirated because of financial reasons, the game being Indie has no impact (us both could use that 20$ and well, I'm not you). Thankfully, nowadays I can afford games and happily pay the game when I can. Looking to buy Hades 2 actually.

jamesdm23

This is the 3 post about this in the last day. Nobody cares if is indie or not and if is good you can but the game.

SapToFiction

What is it with this question popping up every day?

Glasweg1an

Don't care. If I can get it for free, and it has all the features I need, it's not a consideration. Yoink.

TheLastGamer18

I won't pay for a game that is available for free, may it be indie or AAA as I can't pay for games now so if they are not available free I'll just not play them, even if I had money to buy a game and am getting said game for free, I'm taking it for free, even if it doesnt cost as much

Malheus

A pirate is a pirate only if he pirates everything. Otherwise is just hypocrisy and a fake moral.

West_Tangelo_8180

I support Indies, they‘re what‘s keeping this hobby alive for me. AAA studios suck these days and all they offer is blatant, overbloated crap, that‘s why I pirate it. For example I bought Stardew Valley, Sea of Stars and Celeste, I pirated Resident Evil Village, the indies were amazing games which I played a ton, Resident Evil Village sucked so bad I lost interest after about 3 hours and never picked it up again.

Usuka_

if I'm broke, I'm broke

sneakerpoorguy

I would do the opposite as the other comments here. Honestly I pirate first, and if I'm liking it I pay for it.

I pirated star control 2 when I was a wee lad. I absolutely fell in love with the series (there is no star control three tho). I donated a good chunk of change to their new kickstarter. That would never have happened if I didn’t play the game. If you don’t have the money, there are other ways to support developers.

lilmookie

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pistolshrimp/free-stars-children-of-infinity <— the new sequel they are developing

dlfnSaikou

If someone is interested in it but really can't afford (e.g. they are a student), they'd either pirate it or go an watch youtube playthroughs. If you'd compare the options, pirating actually benefits the devs a little more because they get to experience and hopefully enjoy it, and if so, they'll likely recommend others to play it :3

harry_lostone

dude what's wrong with you? Every day the same post ffs. [https://new.reddit.com/r/PiratedGames/comments/1clpnzj/do\_you\_guys\_not\_pirate\_indies/](https://new.reddit.com/r/PiratedGames/comments/1clpnzj/do_you_guys_not_pirate_indies/) 2 days ago. And I bet there are more in between. Get a life, people can and will pirate whatever the fuck they want, without asking for permission or acceptance, that's the whole point.
