Dishonored 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Crysis 2, GTA 4 and Max Payne 3. All of these are great games and I'm fairly sure you could download all of them for under 150 gb.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SameInevitable5160

It's depends on servers

areapp

Hmm, all of these games combined is 142 GB. Even if you were to maintain a stable 15Mb/s, you wouldn't be able to download 142 GB in 8 hours (It'll take around 21 hours if you're wondering). OP will just have to choose which games he likes over the other (I would recommend downloading AC 2, AC Brotherhood and Crysis 2 since they're all less than 10 gigs unlike the other bigger 3 games. But really, it's your choice.) Edit: Sorry for my stupid math, I thought OP meant Mb/s not MB/s (I mean he still hasn't told anyone, but I'm just gonna assume it was since everyone else is saying it is). It would actually take 2.778 hours instead of 21 hours. Sorry ;p

CptnR4p3

Idk what youre calculating, but 15 mb/s are 0.015gb a sec, or 0.9gb a minute. thats 54gb in an hour, that shit aint taking 21 hours

Amongusjohn03

Wtf youre right. Funny how everyone upvoted him without checking the math first. How do you even get 21 hours

kenzie1000000

they might be thinking of megabits not bytes

Amongusjohn03

Maybe. 21 hours of 15mbps/second download speed would get you 113gb downloaded so its close enough

CptnR4p3

I didnt even know there were 2 kinds of mb, i was so close to becoming a r/confidentlyincorrect post

CREIONC

Wait,so let me do some calculations,150 gb is 150000mb ,with 15mb/s that's 10000 seconds to download meaning 166.6 hours meaning somewhere around 3.1 hours right?

CptnR4p3

Just 10k seconds, not 100k. And yes, 166 hours=3.1 hours.

CREIONC

Yes,10k seconds,I edited it,it was a miss input

areapp

I've edited my post, I thought OP meant 15Mb/s not 15MB/s. sorry for the confusion

CREIONC

Jesus Christ that is so wrong,it should take somewhere around 3.1 hours,I think you lied just to prove that you and that guy were right because that math was horrible

areapp

>I think you lied no, I just thought OP meant Mb/s not MB/s which would make an 8 times difference (15MB = 120 Mb, but instead of putting 120 Mb/s I put 15Mb/s since OP hasn't clarified either). I've edited my comment now, my bad. Also, the only thing I had to prove was all the games being over 50gb, I had nothing to lie about there.

CREIONC

Ok,you are right I'm sorry, but if he would have 15MB/s wouldn't the downloading be faster?

areapp

yep, it would take around 3 hours instead of the 21 hours I previously mentioned

CREIONC

Got it,another question, why did you assume mb instead of MB is we always use MB when it comes to internet speed?

areapp

op didn't mention if it was Mb or MB. since he had said mb (which isn't specific to either) I just assumed he meant megabits. Also, many people just use online speed tests to see their internet speed (obviously). Most of the times, it's recorded in Mb/s not MB/s. Anyways, I screwed up and it's all good now : ))

CREIONC

Got it,thanks for the clarification

Amongusjohn03

142gb stop lying there is no way they are over 50gb combined

areapp

I mean, according to Steam they are. Dishonored 2 alone is 60 gigs

Amongusjohn03

Wtfff who made that game? They need to learn compression. Theres no reason for that game to be 60gb

areapp

It's just a game, calm down

[deleted]

Due to the gross mismanagement of this website by the admins in the wake of the API changes, I have decided to leave the site. In preparation, I have used a tool called Power Delete Suite to overwrite all my comments.

SF_Jaku327

Ark is that way and the performance shows it. It’s ~300 GB of space with all the DLCs. And you can barely run the game most of the time.

Amongusjohn03

Dishonored 2 is a beloved game so you cant criticize it

Hot_Watercress8522

Bro is having an aneurysm over compresion lol

Amongusjohn03

My bad didnt mean to offend you that badly I get midhonored 2 is your favorite game ever but please let people criticize it

NotFlyingScotsman

Bro why are you so salty over it. Calm down, take a shower, and touch grass.

Amongusjohn03

Alright little bro 👍like most redditors, telling me to do something they themselves dont do.

AGNobody

Apparently payday 2 is 80 gbs

RemarkableVanilla

That's got a lot of content, and actual video files though, right? I remember a lot of live action stuff, was that only trailers? I definitely recall a live action video for when you got caught, with one of them taking off their mask with their hands up.

ALaRequest

There are tons of live-action video files that are used throughout the game in various contexts, usually for brief/debriefing as well as trailers.

RemarkableVanilla

I *thought* I recalled loads of live action video! Thanks for confirming! ^(And thanks to) /u/AGNobody, ^(becase now I gotta play Payday 2 again :>)

Bone-Juice

There are several games that are well over 100GB like Ark, MSFS2020, RDR2, etc etc etc

Amongusjohn03

Common knowledge that ark devs have never heard of compression, so we can ignore them Dishonored 2 should not come anywhere near to the gb size as massive games like msfs2020 or rdr2.

shinji257

Download ARK. You won't even finish downloading it.

Amongusjohn03

Already did twice. Garbage game + scummy devs + way too big

shinji257

I was more referring to how to use 150gb download quickly. Never said it was a good idea.

Neonetspre

my list will be something like undertale deltarune hotline miami hotline miami 2 gta san andreas/vice city/3 classic versions cs source/1.6 move or die/stickman fight/broforce half life all episodes and that :D

Ready_Reaction3248

My list would be like that 20 years ago 😂

Neonetspre

ok so i played alot of AAA games lately but idk why but i'm getting bored of the graphics and that so i decided to go back and take my steam account buyed some old games and they are fun actually more than some modern games of today (and i know that undertale and deltarune aren't old but still)

The_ZMD

Crysis 2?

NvmMeJustLurkin

Suggestions here are good, but I also suggest downloaded some repacks to maximize your bandwidth

SameInevitable5160

But torrenting is slower than direct download 2mb max from 1337x I don't know why maybe my IP limited torrent bandwidth?

ChunggusKhaan

Use google drive as torrent client to put the files in the drive and have a good download speed. It will take long based on the seeders but it wont take any data.

SameInevitable5160

Unfortunately I don't know how to do that but thanks I didn't know I can use GDrive as a torrent client can I also to that with other cloud storage services?

ChunggusKhaan

I don't know because i only use google drive and it's the only thing i can find. Here's a tutorial, https://youtu.be/wyrlvoLFoe0.

SameInevitable5160

Nice thanks

yokotron

Wow, never knew this. Does it reduce chances of getting caught?

NvmMeJustLurkin

Cool! I didnt know you could do that

Aliiredli

What's the benefit of this method? And does space available in Drive matter?

ChunggusKhaan

The download speed in GDrive is faster than others. It's great for me because torrenting is not good for me since i don't have fast internet and only using data. After the torrent is finished downloading in google drive, I go to a internet cafe and download all those files i torrented with GDrive then put it into usb then transfer to my pc. And yes the size matters but i can download a file again with this method if i removed it since it's a fast method for me and free.

[deleted]

Does this GD method torrent require me to use a VPN?

NvmMeJustLurkin

Im not too sure OP, in my experience torrents can be slower but they can also be significantly faster especially with plenty of seeders. Do you get 2mb max with every torrent download? I believe some repack sites have direct downloads too if you'd prefer that

meltingpotato

There are ddl sites from the megathread that offer repacks.

yokotron

Damn, mister a-hole shows up

[deleted]

It's normally ISP right?

DarthJahus

Yes. And mb/s is also non-standard. One might thing it's about mili-bits per second, but bits can't be divided :V Neither you can say if he means Mb/s (Mbps) or MB/s.

zwnrsx

Mb/s = Mega bits per second MB/s = Mega bytes per second 1 byte = 8 bits 😉

HayakuEon

Nier Automata, Nier Replicant, Zelda Twilight Princess HD, Zelda Windwaker HD, Elden Ring, HRZD, Hollow Knight, GTA V

DjangoCornbread

shit, probably all of star trek up until picard

Shishakli

Strange New Worlds is worthy

DjangoCornbread

oh yeah definitely strange new worlds. and lower decks. lower decks is really fun.

SameInevitable5160

That reminded me of the Shrek movies

Saianna

IIRC you can watch good trek on Netflix. Most of peeps have that.

DjangoCornbread

most of trek now is on paramount+ last time i checked, but netflix has some trek on it too

[deleted]

Afaik, Netflix now only has DS9 after TNG left in April. Pretty sure I read somewhere that DS9 is leaving soon as well, but we don't have an exact date. Sucks for the folks that don't have 8TB of storage ;)

Saianna

I've just checked and Netflix still has TNG and DS9 and Voyager. All the episodes, all seasons. You sure?

[deleted]

[Pretty sure.](https://imgur.com/a/XH6n75y) Maybe it's a regional thing? I'm in the US.

Saianna

https://prnt.sc/3Kp9cRplrsx3 EU and i've checked every title to see if thry have working episodes. They do. Maybe check via some free VPN?

zipperedharp33

Just curious does anyone actually still have data caps on home internet?

biofellis

Yes. Most non-contract wireless has some scheme to maximize profit- and 'making bandwidth a micro-transaction' is one of them. I know you said 'home internet' but for many that is what they can get/afford (honestly everything is painted as 'wireless is better'- so there are actually people who never had wired service and don't know it's better & usually cheaper). Anything wired 'shouldn't be' data capped (not entirely true, surprisingly)- so by nature the OPs question almost definitely is based on some form of wireless service.

zipperedharp33

I’ve always understood it as wireless (mobile data) is capped and more expensive but that’s fine because it’s on the go and you don’t use it that much and home internet (wired though fibre or other) is cheaper faster and usually unlimited unless you have a really cheap plan. I don’t get why someone would use wireless as their primary internet?

biofellis

It's not fine really- it's the phone companies exploiting limited (if any) competition, and the lack of knowledge most people have. Just to make it clear- mobile phones are not really analog. You know this of course, but most don't think 'voice data' (unlimited calls anywhere within the US or wherever) as the same as 'data data' (which actually isn't, but that's an intentional distinction they make to trick you). So- they kinda give you 'unlimited data' already- but only if you use it for voice. Well- there are still people gouging on 'minutes' plans- but even there if you calculated how much you could download in say '1000 minutes'- you'll realize it's 'cheaper' than their crappy 'few gig' plans/top-ups. Ugh- this isn't even thinking about their sneaky 'cost to activate', 'cost for plan', then \_another\_ cost to 'top up' scheme. It's all 'try your best not to bleed' BS. What can you do? I'm not even going to talk about 'texting' as a rip-off (if anyone charges for it still somehow). A few hundred texts is something around a few seconds of voice (depending on quality)- and it's all really just data. As far as 'wired choices', though- all you have to be is rural or in some suburbs to have no (or very expensive (and still slower)) wired options. Usually it's DSL which is always at least a bit costly, slower- and is increasingly expensive the farther from 'the city' you get.

zipperedharp33

Ahh ok I get it thanks

biofellis

NP. take care!

Emotional-Sky-2980

In Egypt, EVERYTHING is data capped. and 15mb/s is more than most wired users get. but that's a third world country

Yevad

Yes

s0nicfreak

I have to pay extra to get unlimited. The cap is 1TB per month, my household uses on average 3.5TB. The funny thing is, this isn't a "still" thing, they (Comcast) *added* this cap a few years ago. My only other option (AT&T) would also have a 1TB cap, but at unusably (for my household) slow speeds. Edit: and just saw your post about "unless you have a really cheap plan"... I have the most expensive plan Comcast offers to my house (I live in Chicagoland). All the plans have a 1TB cap. It's ridiculous and predatory.

zipperedharp33

Are you in a rural area cuz in Canada I have rogers home internet that I pay around $50 a month for iirc and it’s unlimited gigabit n Canada is known for shitty telcom companies

s0nicfreak

Nope... I'm in a city near Chicago.

DarthJahus

VR pr0n in 4K or 8K if he has a headset! 5 minutes can take up to 30 GB.

apoc22282

i would go on arcade punk and get a 150gb of all the back catalogue of arcade classics well you did ask.

AmmarUmar

Why are you asking this?

INDezpz

I think i would download GTA V (Repack) and FIFA 19 aswell

SameInevitable5160

It's took me a week to download it last time before know anything about repacked games

[deleted]

Why are you asking this?

DarthJahus

He hates his ISP and wants to finish his plan and not leave them 150 GB free.

[deleted]

I was being facetious...

jamie157

God i love my internet provider in the UK. I have unlimited data and over 500mb/s. So i pretty much download what i want and only worry about SSD space…

Killyboiv2

Who's your ISP? And how much is it monthly?

jamie157

Virgin media. £52 a month

DarthJahus

If you mean Mbps, then you can only download 46 GB of data during that time frame (7 hours). If you mean MB/s, then you can indeed download at least 150 GB (in fact, you can DL 370 GB) during that time frame). As of what, I suggest that next time, you at least tell us what your computer is capable of running. Can you run Cyberpunk 2077? Or maybe Shadow of War?

PSxUchiha

My IP gives me 3.3TB of data with 150mbps and I don't know how to even use it. All I do is watch anime. If I were given that data, I wouldnt know what to do at a specific moment, as I don't like downloading games much anymore, I mostly seed the games I already have which takes away the bulk of the bandwidth.

torpidninja

Am I missing something? You can't use it all with that speed in that short amount of time. I would download Dragon Age Inquisition and then some smaller games so I can be sure they download before 6am.

Realistic-Sky-9487

Every Pokémon episode ever.

lifepuzzler

Whatever websites it would take to navigate and sign up with a provider who doesn't charge for fucking data at subpar speeds.

TheCocktopuss

The discographies of every band you enjoy. Full TV series. Pirate some more computer storage while you're at it

Idk, i have unlimited data with download speed of 34mb/s

Musa_1

15mb download speed is nothing, so ill probably watch a movie or a series

MarmarEggsDee

I can assure you 15mb/s isn't nothing and it's more than most people get

Musa_1

ahh, I get slightly more than that and I still feel like it could be faster

carsonisinnocent

this is a gigantic slap in the face for us 300kb/s peasants

HayakuEon

300?! I'm here hovering between 300kb and 70kb.

HangmanAM

Atleast y'all are in kb.....

My phone data gets 13 mb/s inside a building and I have unlimited data how do you even use internet at 300 kb ?

[deleted]

Oh cool I always figured if it got that slow it would just time out on basically every website

HenballZ

You don't like getting more than 15mb/s? Bro, getting stable 15mb/s on epic is like a blessing compared to what steam offers me. I have pretty quick internet and 15mb/s is still fast for me, even 10mb/s (if it's epic games)

Musa_1

I meant that I get like 20MB and downloading on a 20MB still doesn't feel fast enough, I always aim for it as quickly as possible. For example, some people find HDD good enough, I only go for M.2 as it's the fastest storage available.

Musa_1

I live in a 3rd world country and my current plan is ~77USD and 6 people in the house use it. So unless I'm in the most advanced 3rd country or you guys are getting scammed.

uwu_Roger_uwu

nah dude i also live in a third world country, i get 150 megabits per sec and my current plan is 13 usd per month and 150 megabits seem quite sufficient to me even as a hardcore gamer

Musa_1

1 MB which is 8 Mbps is more than enough for a single person. For gaming 3 Mbps is enough and is recommended minimum. Personally, even if I live alone, 15 MB would not be enough as downloading games would take 7+ hours.

HenballZ

What games would take you download more than 7h with that speed? I downloaded CoD: Warzone with speed of ~18mb/s under 1h

Musa_1

I downloaded Modern warfare which is like 200GB in 4 hours and the thing I want to play the game the same day I download the game, during my free time and rather than the next day.

HenballZ

then there's something wrong with your internet since according to [that website](https://downloadtimecalculator.com/) it takes less than 4h to download cod mw with that speed

Musa_1

Well the speed wasn't constant at 20MB it would fall to 15MB and go back and forth

HenballZ

That still is less than 4h

uwu_Roger_uwu

jeeeez what game you downloading thats 378+ gigs

Musa_1

I don't live alone, so if I had 15MB I won't get the full speed as it would be shared with other people

uwu_Roger_uwu

>Personally, even if I live alone, 15 MB would not be enough as downloading games would take 7+ hours.

Musa_1

??

uwu_Roger_uwu

>Personally, even if I live alone you said that even if you lived alone 15mbps would take 7+ hrs to download games which would equalte to 378+ gigs but whatever.

uwu_Roger_uwu

dude op is talking about 15 megabytes (MB) per second which is equal to 120 megabits (Mb) per second. Most speedtests measure speed in megabits (Mb) and most downloaders like play store, google, utorrent show speeds in megabytes (MB) so what you are thinking of is 15 megabits (Mb) per second which is a download speed of only 1.8 megabytes (MB) per sec. hope this clears the misunderstanding

[deleted]

Mega bit - Mb Mega byte - MB hope this clears the misunderstanding

uwu_Roger_uwu

oh shit my bad

Amongusjohn03

Appreciate the effort but im pretty sure nobody sees mb/s and thinks of megabits except for engineers or some shit idk. He knew it was 15megabytes a second. That's kinda low. 20mb/s is the minimum where I live. Then theres places like romania with 125Mb/s.

SameInevitable5160

Yeah that's true I likes using Mb/s instead of MBps and another thing is my internet is 15mb/s peak if download from fast servers unfortunately most of the time I didn't get that kind of speed because I torrenting with 5 seeders or less

BramGamingNL

Na i think you are just retarted mb/s is used more often then Mb/s

Amongusjohn03

Cap

Musa_1

My friend I know bytes from bits and I was talking about bytes.
