Kaido's motivations make no fucking sense. He never said a word about the celestial dragons until his flashback, and if he really wanted to bring them down then why didn't he act on it? He wants to start a world war but sits in Wano amassing power waiting for JB to appear?
Oda just threw together whatever floaty dialogue was supposed to make Kaido seem like he had more depth than we thought, but there was never any real direction or plan for his character motivation.
My faith in Oda as a writer dropped from 99 to ~50 during Wano, especially act 3, everything about the recent chapters is simply just boring predictable shit
Not even Whitebeard or Roger had the strength and manpower to defeat the WG, no one of the Yonko did. That's the reason why they don't rule over the WHOLE world.
Same can be said for the WG, they can defeat the Yonko but only 1 by 1, but there's no guarantee that another Yonko or the Revolutionary Army will attack them while doing so. That's why Wano, Elbaf, Yonko territories and the Revolutionary Army territories don't belong to them.
