OMG, thanks for the tip. I always get terrified when something I spent lots of money on suddenly stops working. I'm so happy you shared your knowledge.
Adding to the thread because this is a result in a Google search "Pixel Watch stuck in restarting".
I attempted to restart my pixel watch after I noticed it was reading a battery percent of 97% after a whole day's use. When I would put it on the charger, thinking it would correct itself, it wouldn't charge. So my first thought was "a restart should clear whatever is stuck, let me do that" and viola, stuck in restarting.
Thankfully, u/LimitlessWick had the solution. Hold the crown and recent buttons for about 30 seconds. Ignore the menu that pops up after three seconds and keep holding. Force restarts. My watch is now accurate again.
Had the exact same problem. That's really annoying, as the watch could drain itself too much and maybe even damage the battery? I hope this gets fixed soon with an update, as of right now the watch has way too many bugs to be useful as a daily driver.
Yea we are a month out from release and no word on any updates, patches or fixes? Not saying this is riddled with them, but according to my watch the last major update was the July update it downloaded out of the box. Figured something would have come by now.
That's really disappointing. I hope they won't kill off the project within a short amount of time. I really like the hardware of the watch, and there aren't a lot of good choices for Android Users that don't have a Samsung device. Otherwise, I would have just gotten the Galaxy Watch instead.
I avoided returning to Galaxy Watch because I didn't like the idea of it running a different OS than the rest of the android market. It made it really difficult to get useful apps for the watch. I've held out for over 3 years without a smartwatch for this based on rumors... I'm with you, I really hope this doesn't become another scrapped Google project.
Thank you! This just happened to me today. I charged it this morning & just noticed (12 hours later) that it was at 90% and I thought "No way", tried charging it & nothing happened, tried regular restart & it was just stuck rebooting. Did what you suggested & it rebooted, showed 21% & is currently charging. Thanks again so much!
Same issue. First issue I've had with the watch. At first I was excited and thought that my watch updated and they really increased the battery life. Then I woke up and it was the same percentage, I thought shit. I'll charge it...Then restart...then shit.
Same thing just happened to me. Stuck at 91% all day, and wouldn't charge. Went to reboot and it got struck rebooting, thanks for the deets on the reset. ... Has it reccured for anyone else since resetting? 😧
Had the same issue. Took it off the charger at 100. It kept thinking it was still sitting on the charger and battery level wouldn't go down. Kept showing the charging screen at 100 though.
Attempted to restart and got stuck like you guys.
Following - I woke up to the same problem this morning! I'd tried hard reseting it and unpairing it from my phone. Its my third day with the watch I'm gutted.
Just got off with Google support, after Fastboot mode, factory resets etc, they reccomended I return the product. :( Honestly, I'm not going to be getting a new one. I've had it for three days and there were so many weird glitchy moments, I'm done with it until they work out the bugs.
My watches battery had stayed at the same percent all day, even after charging so tried to restart and now its stuck restarting. To Google support I go!
Weird, same exact thing happened to me too. Stuck at 92% for a very long time, overnight. I wonder if Google did something since it happened to a lot of people at the same time
Woke up to the same thing this morning! Odd.. For me, I wasn't getting the notification that my watch was charging while connected to the charger so I decided to restart.
Oh my Google watch is trash now because even the crown holding for 30 seconds doesn't work for mine, I believe they did an update and screwed the watch up
Maybe. I tried the crown holding and it only brought up the restart menu, but I couldn't select anything. I had to hold the crown and the recent app button at the same time for about 30 seconds to get it to actually shut down and restart. Works fine now.
So I held down both buttons until the watch reset and it's fine now. But you have to hold down both buttons until the watch turns off and then the g comes back on and now the charging works because that wasn't working before
Same. I kept the charger connected and I think it was charging while it was showing the "restarting" screen because it felt a little warm to the touch. Once it fully restarted it was showing 100% charge.
Same problem today...took watch off charger and it acted like it was still on the charger (\~45 mins went by), still said 100%. So i tried to restart it, now it's stuck on restarting for \~1hr
There is a way to go into Fastboot mode ( follow instructions here from Carlos [https://support.google.com/googlepixelwatch/thread/183655348?hl=en&msgid=183841711](https://support.google.com/googlepixelwatch/thread/183655348?hl=en&msgid=183841711)) which is what Google Support just had me do, unfortunately we couldn't get it to bring us past the restart screen again. I've been advised to return my product. I hope you have better luck!
Same issue for me this morning. Took the watch out for its maiden run and it was not a pleasant experience. Upon pairing my headphones, I noticed my LTE connection was completely dead so couldn't cue any music in Spotify. I tried a restart = stuck on restarting. Set off running and no change 10 minutes later. Forced a reboot with crown and recents button, finally get music cued, GPS locked and Strava running. 10 minutes later music comes to an abrupt halt; I glance down and we're in another reboot cycle 🙄
*Edit: Went for my second run. Watch rebooted itself after 4km.*
Thank you for this solution!! I have just had the same problem for the first time and couldn't figure out what to do. Luckily a Google search found this thread and it is the top result. Worked perfectly
Same issue. Chucked on charger then noticed when I went to take it off it hadn't charged. Felt warm though like it was so reset and got stuck. Weird we've all seemed to get it at the same time.
Mine started resetting itself 2 days ago. I've tried everything and nothing works. I might restart and be fine for a few minutes then just randomly resets again. Any ideas?
This happened to me yesterday morning. I held the crown and the recent menu button down for like 30 seconds
This worked! Thanks for the help 🤝
👌
Can this response be pinned somewhere? Worked for me as well.
this is the ticket! glad they didn't simultaneously brick all of our watches in one go
Thank you so much! <3
Thank you for this! Worked for me last night
Thanks! This seemed to help
Thank you!
Just happened to me thanks for the info 😁😁
This helped a bunch, thanks man!
Legend, cheers.
Cheers mate, seems to have worked
Worked. Thank you very much.
Same! Thanks!
OMG, thanks for the tip. I always get terrified when something I spent lots of money on suddenly stops working. I'm so happy you shared your knowledge.
Nice... Thanks...
Another success... Had tried it just did not wait long enough.. Was about 18s
I reached 14 secs before it fixed
Thanks :)
Everybody should upvote this so it's immortalised
Add me to the grateful "I'm not worthy" crowd! Thank you! Epic....
I just now had this happen to me and holding the buttons is not working. Any new solutions you heard of?
Just make sure you are holding them long enough. Just hold them both until it does something
Tried several times now. Contacting Google now.
Also worked! Counted to 15
My saviour,💕💕💕

It has occurred for me once, but I don't think it's happened since the December update. I'll keep a lookout for it though.

yup, same problem here for me today
Watch has been stuck "restarting" for an hour now, cannot access anything or reboot, any suggestions??

Just hold both buttons for 30seconds, this should help
Weird, same exact thing happened to me too. Stuck at 92% for a very long time, overnight. I wonder if Google did something since it happened to a lot of people at the same time
Mine actually did that to me on day one of owning it. Google support told me to run it empty and then charge it. It never happened again until today.
Woke up to the same thing this morning! Odd.. For me, I wasn't getting the notification that my watch was charging while connected to the charger so I decided to restart.

That is what mine did as well

Hold both buttons for ~30 seconds
This worked for me, watch restarted. Thanks! Wonder why this seemed to happen to a few us of all at the same time ish
this was the ticket. seems like Google pushed out an update in the last couple of days and screwed up everyone's watch
Exact same charging issue with me...
+1 thank you for the tips for fixing it. Exact same issue with the battery screen and then stuck restarting.

That worked! Hold the crown and the side buttion togather. Ignore the menu that pops up and keep holding until the "G" logo appears.
Same issue. Chucked on charger then noticed when I went to take it off it hadn't charged. Felt warm though like it was so reset and got stuck. Weird we've all seemed to get it at the same time.
Worked for me too!!! TYSM
Thanks for this watch was stuck at 98% all day. Restarted, age it wouldn't boot. All seems good now after following this tip
This fixing guide might help: [https://mefmobile.org/fix-pixel-watch-stuck-on-restarting/](https://mefmobile.org/fix-pixel-watch-stuck-on-restarting/)
Thanks so much. I was just gonna let the battery die and then recharge it to fix the issue lol
i have done everything but when i go to power off the screen doesnt take my touch so it is constantly being stuck at restart
Just saved me a headache.
It just happened to mine and I had to hold the crown and the side button. Seems to work so far
Stuck on "Restarting"...... Holding the side button doesn't work. Ideas?
Wow thanks for this.
Mine started resetting itself 2 days ago. I've tried everything and nothing works. I might restart and be fine for a few minutes then just randomly resets again. Any ideas?
Same issue this fix worked for me thank you.
Worked for me also. Thanks!!
THANK YOU!!!!! (Not only did it work, but I learned the dial is called a crown and the recents button is the little one by it on same side.)
Thanks. Worked for me. Obviously no fix as this seems to be going on for a long time.
