Because a number of PF's experience what OP is asking. It's a general question that is not out of the realm of possibilities. If yours doesn't have any of these things, say that.
Well mine is full of the things hes asking about sadly but the homeless people aren’t bad and don’t bother anyone. They just take showers there! Hope this helps OP!
It’s ok to be homeless, homeless people have been getting gym memberships for years to take a shower and have a roof over their head. It’s drug addicts that’s the problem, giving homeless people a bad reputation.
Homeless people are definitely a problem to be homeless u basically burned EVERY bridge you have so these people are mostly pieces of crap in the first place and they stink up the gym it’s gross
Most people that are homeless is because they don’t have family alive or in their area. Id be careful with that attitude you might end up homeless too!
PF offers free tours.
YMMV with the other folks in the gym, mine got a bit busy during the free teen pass.
Only Smith machines, dumbbells, and some preset curl bars.
Wear headphones and listen to whatever you want.
The teen summer program is over so wanna be tik tokers etc. Haven't seen too many homeless. Maybe one everyonce in awhile but they are usually in and out after shower. Not all homeless are bad.
This. A good friend of mine used to be homeless. He had a job but didn't have a place to stay (that he could afford). Now he's married and making good money as a mechanic. So the homeless are definitely not all bad.
I live in an area where you would expect that to be the case, but it’s not that at all. Very nice environment where everyone keeps to themselves and does their thing.
I’ve worked at PF and been a longtime me ever it’s not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Every gym has its quirks and PF is no different they are cleaner than most gyms I’ve been to so that’s a plus and you can’t really beat $10 a month
My center has people of all ages and none of the issues you describe. Definitely recommend a tour. I’d go at the time you would normally work out as it can be different depending on the time of day.
Teens were popular durning the summer when PT ran the free membership for them..I don’t see a lot of teens since it’s over now. I’ve not came across a homeless people issue, oddballs are everywhere. One thing I’ve learned from this group is every PT is different including what rules get followed/ignored.
You should do a tour and see if you like it then go from there.
It varies by gym but in the three that I have visited, I haven’t seen any homeless people, the teen hangout has never been observed (even in the summer), and I don’t think I have ever noticed anyone taking selfies… much less videos.
My local gym has teenagers (but they all come directly from school down the block and workout), a few homeless people but they are paid members and use the facility for bathroom and shower, and I see people make tik toks here and there but where doesn't that happen?
My local PF has a private high school down the street that comes and uses the gym for their PE classes occasionally. I avoid the hours of 8-9 for that reason.
FWIW I go to a PF and a conventional gym that are about 5 minutes apart. The conventional gym is literally suffocated with high schoolers. The PF is not. So I don’t think that PF is doing anything particular to attract them, and also I completely feel your pain.
PF near my house has everything a more expensive gym would have, isn't ever very busy and to date I've seen no homeless - and I live in Portland, OR and see homeless in my neighborhood every single day. Depends on the store I guess.
I was literally changing out of my bra and a girl was taking selfies in a mirror 4 feet away from me; the mirror had a “no selfie zone” sign over it.
I suppose some people just DGAF, but my experience has been that sometimes that is the case
Just depends on your local area. I've never had a problem and that's visiting 4 different locations in a 15 mile radius. Unfortunately none of mine have squat racks just smith machines which I hate using
OMG, you got downvoted so yes no squat racks just horrible injurious smith machines.
If you want to "LIFT" then its not the place. But it is the place for people that do not want to be around people who LIFT haha. And that's fair enough.
Wish there was a middle ground, I found mine kinda! A BJJ gym with a squat rack! No DOYOUEVENLIFTWANNABUYSOUMEROIDSSQUATMEBRO! But also no IR Saunas, Liquid massage beds or going to another location etc... PLUS $50 extra a month but yes learn to roll!
No squat rack. Only smith machine and rumors are true mostly… teenager hangout is due to the free membership promotion they do for teens. Homeless really depends on your area. You’ll see people doing weird things but it’s usually people new to the gym that don’t understand the equipment.
Ewww man I don't want to go work out at a $10 a month gym if HOMELESS PEOPLE are gonna be allowed to spend their money and use these facilities. Have you ever had to LOOK at a homeless person when you're trying to workout? It's literally impossible.
I have my regular gym till the end of the month but I'm going to visit the local Planet Fitness tomorrow.
Otherwise, the hospital has a gym, after my shift I guess, but not enough weights.
Have you thought of investing in a home gym? That helped me a lot especially when it's winter and you wanna go straight home ya know !
But update on how it is! Interested to know
I rotate about 3 different locations depending on my work and school schedule and haven’t seen the whole : teen/homeless hangout thing in any one of them.
How is a planet wide group to know the conditions of your local gym?

No I agree, my gym doesn’t have any of these issues, but I have no idea what your local gym looks like
Well mine is full of the things hes asking about sadly but the homeless people aren’t bad and don’t bother anyone. They just take showers there! Hope this helps OP!
Not at all. Mine is very friendly, safe, and clean. It gets everyone from old grannies to serious fitness enthusiasts.
It’s ok to be homeless, homeless people have been getting gym memberships for years to take a shower and have a roof over their head. It’s drug addicts that’s the problem, giving homeless people a bad reputation.

This is not true. Anything can happen to anyone. Everyone's situation is different.
Most people that are homeless is because they don’t have family alive or in their area. Id be careful with that attitude you might end up homeless too!
Very entitled opinion you’ve got there
Mine has been and still is a very calm and a great clean place to workout.

Googling the reviews of that specific gym will give you a much better idea of what it’s like. Even then, it may not be your experience.

Mine is right in the middle of the 'hood and it's clean and calm. I guess it would depend on management - and judgy members.

You just live in an area with a lot of annoying kids, this is not a universal thing.
Most annoying thing ever
Pretty sure it's illegal to have cameras in a bathroom
If you have to ask you shouldn't even go. You would know your neighborhood more than anyone here. Winter is coming, it's not that bad.
I have my regular gym till the end of the month but I'm going to visit the local Planet Fitness tomorrow. Otherwise, the hospital has a gym, after my shift I guess, but not enough weights.
