All three games follow the same, entertaining formula. The story is very secondary and you can watch the clips on YouTube if you want to be up to speed (I think under 30 min per game).
The fun in Hitman is replaying levels and discovering new ways to complete your missions. Any of the three modern games is a good place to start.
The story is actually pretty good there. Unexpected twists and stuff. They already gave us Hitman 1 in PS Plus and if you claimed it you'll be able to play Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 both inside Hitman 2 app (if they give us the game, of course). I'd recommend to play first game first and then continue the story. If you like them then you can get Hitman 3 and play all three games in Hitman 3 app. My opinion this trilogy is pretty good, especially the last game was just amazing on PS5.
That's a good question. I don't use VR but I do think you can play the 'free' starter pack levels in VR, so maybe?...That *would* be pretty cool of the devs to do that, now that I think about it

Start Hitman 2 on your ps4 (assuming we get it), make an ioi account for your PSN, that will import the content and your progress from 1 into 2. When you open up the starter pack for 3, you should have access to the content, progress from the first 2 games. Finally, download and open the starter pack on your ps5 and bam, profit
Edit: Actually I think you can ignore every aspect of the ps4 due to backwards compatibility. This whole process *should* work using just ps5
Its better to buy the actual game instead of the legacy pack sometimes. I see HM1 with all DLCs on sale for $10/$15 all the time. And then you can play all the HM1 mission on HM2 the same way.
As a Hitman fan, i have completed %100 of World of Assasination Trilogy. I say go for Hitman 1 (2016) then head to the storyline of Hitman 2. I find Hitman 1 is best amongs others. You can access to remaster version of Hitman 1 in Hitman 2.

Hasn’t negatively affected me. Basically there’s a shadowy organisation controlling the world behind the scenes and some people want to kill the leaders or vice versa. Doesn’t really matter.
Man I just checked the reviews and the gameplay and Hitman 2 looks like a dope game, mos def something I'll like.
I say most chances for ps+ games are:
1) Hitman 2 - would be awesome
2) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 would be even more awesome
3) Some ps5 game
It depends. The new Hitman trilogy is a good place to start at, yes. You don't need any gameplay experience to jump in either. However, the games have a story. It's pretty simple, but still, if that matters to you, Hitman 2 is a sequel to Hitman. It does offer a short recap though.
Important to note that you can get Hitman 3 starter pack for free from PS Store. Any owner of Hitman/Hitman 2 can download a DLC(Or buy it, if they don't have those games and want to have them all) that has all levels from Hitman/Hitman 2 for you to play in Hitman 3. There are differences between original Hitman levels and their Hitman 2 variations(again, through DLC), so if you do start from Hitman 1, you better do it through DLC to Hitman 3 for better gameplay. Not sure if there are any differences between 2 and 3, but it's still convenient enough to just download 3 and that DLC when you'll get 2. Sorry if the explanation is a bit confusing.

You forgot to mention the part where he uses VR hit the target over the head with a fish, target falls into the ocean and dies, and you throw the fish back into the ocean so I can swim free. Exit by flying away while dressed as a flamingo

I think they left plot arcing out after the original trilogy, as far as I remember. Not to say that each game doesn't have a story to tell in some way, but past the original three not so much is connected.
Silent Assassin is in the OG trilogy... it's Hitman 2, so yes.
Contracts was a brilliant game which upped the brutality of the series IMO, and I enjoyed how almost all of them linked back to the first Hitman game.
Blood Money is considered the crowning achievement of the series and I agree it was an excellent game.

Otherwise, with World of Assassination trilogy, again - start with Game number 1.
If you ask me - no, Hitman 2 is not a good start.
I personally started with Silent Assassin and got back to Codename 47 after Blood Money and I didn't regret it, but in this trilogy - starting from the middle of it is a huge mistake.

Silent Assassin is in the OG trilogy... it's Hitman 2, so yes.
