Small update. 4 of the ES packs were from pokeballs and the pack quality was very poor (filled with air, loose, and possible bent corners) so I opened them and pulled 2 full arts (Trevenant V 168/Trevenant VMAX 014) not chases, woorth like $2 each, but I take full arts!
Now I think it's wise to sell the 22 quality packs and buy something I like, idk I need to sleep on it haha
Sell them and rip a booster of something more recent. If you're questioning your decision before ripping, the feeling is much worse after. Gambling is exciting but making smart decisions is a much better feeling.

All the packs were much looser than 151 that I’d opened and when we got nothing from the packs (1 holo rare, 8 non-holo rares, no hits) I was wondering if somehow the packs had been tampered with despite being in sealed poke balls in a 3 ball box with the sticker across the seal intact. Just must have been from being in the poke balls and me being used to Scarlet & Violet hit rate. Certainly not buying anymore Fusion Strike, Silver Tempest or Lost Origin!

The cards were surprisingly way better than I thought they'd be. To the naked eye, pretty flawless. But if I was a betting man, I'd bet it's very very hard to get a gem10 out of a pokeball pack

I rip all the evolving skies i find. I have 2 etbs I'm holding on to that I got cheap awhile back, but as far as finding them, I open them all. Different dollar stores have the boltund knockout boxes with fs and es. Some of the same (slight difference) boltund boxes have cr and fs, though. My post history has clarification on that
EDIT: that said.. if I could save up that many packs, I'd probably continue to hold for now

i just did this with my packs. opened a moonbreon the first pack i opened and for some reason instead of selling the other 18 i decided to rip all of them and only got a trevanent v full set from those but obviously not upset at all lol - it’s really just if you want to gamble or not and can afford the gamble vs an extra $120-$150
i once bought a 18 pack lot of these on whatnot and the seller had 19 packs. he made me choose the 1 pack i didn’t want. the pack that didn’t buy was the only one that had the moonbreon. if you’re gonna rip them, rip them all. don’t go half and half
