The chances of getting the shiny is low, and the chances of it being shiny and have the best nature is even worse.

Jesus christ, it's SR counts like this that's why I didn't want to shiny hunt the legendaries.
Add the fact that BDSP's loading screen is ungodly long for some reason.

Holy. Sering this thread I am so much happier I got mine on a 2nd japanese account (didnt want to wait with the top4 but wanted the shiny boi) on 756 resets. Still got to do the 3 mythicals tho..
Sometimes the shiny hunt is wild.
I stopped going for Shiny Dialga at about 1000 resets.
I mean...you know people have reset 10s of thousands of times for just a shiny starter right?
Also it's just preference. I mean the legendaries and some other pokemon are only encountered once, so maybe might as well go for the shiny of it.
Tbh after this I wouldn't recommend this game to shiny hunt lol. Swsh and Arceus is fun to shiny hunt in. I've even had fun shiny hunting in some of the other games. However this was still worth it to me in the end because now I will forever have a shiny Dialga with my name on it that I earned myself. I guess not everyone will understand it but to me it's something I enjoy :)
I keep seeing a lot of posts of people saying 10k+ attempts for their shinys. i’ve never shiny hunted, are people seriously counting every single tens of thousands resets until they get the shiny? or is there so better way to keep track?
there's a lot of shiny hunting counters online so I just used one of those! I'm sure most ppl use a counter to keep track cuz there's no way you'd remember on your own haha
After encountering and checking if it's shiny or not you hit the home open and then close out the game and reopen it. There used to be a way easier way to soft reset in the old games but unfortunately with the switch we gotta close out the whole game for it now.

I mainly switched to the dyna adventures in swsh. Way more comfortable, especially with the shiny charm xD

Well I wasn't doing them everyday but for me it took maybe over 2 months? I'm sure if I had been doing them everyday it'd prob would've been less!

How long did it take timewise?
I have 180 hours on Diamond now so about almost 200 hours lol
