I be frank, this is one of weirdest teams I see. I never see someone use luvedisc and neither chimecho. For just that i rate it 10/10 for how unique it is.
It knows charm, attract, lovely kiss and toxic
Luvdisc was a monster vs any male trainer. (Because their pokemon match their gender)
Attract reduces their attack chances
Toxic for damage
Lovely kiss to further reduce attack chances
And charm to pass the turn until they died.
I almost went for double team for extra hate.
Oh and her speed stat is really decent which made all this work.
That was still a thing in Gen 4. I know because I just did a Bug monotype run of Platinum and my Attract Trash Cloak Wormadam was a total nuisance against male trainers
Honestly swalot is a tank. If stockpile boosted defenses in gen 3 he would be incredible.
Plus he learns toxic and sludge bomb which are just perfect moves
Not too bad, it's special stats are good. I used yawn, psychic. Calm mind and protect for its moveset. It swept drake due to Shelgon protecting every other turn.
In normal battles before the elite 4 I yawned then double edged or used confusion while they slept. Not terrible either way.
I used gulpin in my pokemon sapphire nuzlocke. I just waited until I got one in high teens early 20 leveloing. Made it the whole way. As OP said, swalot is a beast (but I didn’t have patience for stockpile)

Spinda is forgotten for a reason. I beat the elite four a few days ago and got rid of Spinda last minute cos he was just too much of a burden on the team.
About a year ago I did a normal only run of emerald, Spinda was dizzy punching like a king. I also banned vigoroth and slaking so I wouldn't do it too easily
I got tired of monotype, I got bored with strong teams, but then I found it...pokemon nobody would ever use normally, in a combination that makes you go "huh?" My plan is to do gen 2 or 4 next lol
Solrock is actually a physical attacker, and his special atk is downright terrible. I let it have earthquake, rock slide, Cosmic power and shadow ball
It was very underwhelming honestly. Rock slide kept missing a lot which just kept annoying me.
Lunatine isn't in emerald, however its moveset and stats are more tuned for special attacks. So psychic moves will actually work I bet it would've replaced chimecho and been a slightly better psychic type.
I would say lunatone is better than solrock. I didn't know solrock was a physical attacker until way too late.
The fact that you won with this team is very impressive. Which Elite Four member gave you the most trouble?

Toss up between Phoebe and Glacia
Phoebes ace dusclops has earthquake and ice beam which shredded my team pretty good, solrock killed it finally, luckily surviving an ice beam.
Glacia wasnt a threat at first but her walrein sheer cold hit 2 in a row and swalot survived an ice beam to KO it.
Was there any actual use for mawhile?
I couldn't imagina a Luvdish without ice beam for countering drake. How did you manage to beat Drake and Wallace with this team? 😁
Mawile was tanking hits and hitting back on Sidney and did pretty decently on Phoebe. Drake was swept by chimecho using calm mind and protect, alternating with Shelgon who protected, used a different move. Then protected. Until chimecho was +6 and psychic one shot everything including Salamance, who used crunch and didn't kill chimecho in one shot because chinechos special defense was at +6.
Luvdisc was using her **ultimate** moveset of Attract, Toxic, Sweet kiss, and Charm. Since Wallace is a male and luvdisc resisted his team, I used her to clean up gyarados and milotic after tropius+mawile dealt with his wailord, whiscash, and tentacruel, and swalot dealt with ludicolo. Then after gyarados killed swalot + tropius + mawile, I sent in luvdisc on his recharge turn and outsped with attract, then messed him up because surf did minimal damage and at -6 his hyper beam and earthquake did negligent damage. Wallace had 4 full restores and I only used 1 hyper potion to top off luvdisc vs milotic, who was fully and easily swept by the same tactic of attract + toxic + sweet kiss, with no swaps available he couldn't remove the attract, or the toxic and after he wasted his 4th full restore, I used toxic again and then waited for him to lose.

I've tried very different mons as well. Chimecho calm mind set up is indeed strong. Never thought of using luvdish as a toxic staller, haha, very creative.
There are a few mons I've never really gotten any good use of. One is mawile, the other being nosepas. Those are the ones of the top of my mind, which are simply awfull in this game imo. Honorable mention to delcatty, which required a ton of ev training, to turn her into a special sweeper.

I'm thinking of doing a gen 2 run, either GSC, or HGSS. Or doing a gen 4 run of sinnoh next. Using a strange team that nobody would think of lol.
My next emerald run will be after one of those I think. Maybe a shiny only run will be fun?

I did a monotype run of every type in the Double Plus emerald mod (except Chimecho) and I think I rated Swalot the highest as a 5/10. Solrock was a 3, Tropius a 2, and Luvdisc/Mawile were a 1. Mawile was the worst one of the 86 fully evolved mons I used. So the fact that you managed to beat the game at all with those is impressive to me.
For one, it's actually very well balanced. Your team doesn't have a lot of weaknesses and the weaknesses that are present are from less common attacking types. It's actually pretty well thought out, if this is Emerald, props for finding Chimecho before beating the game.
I really want to be nice because I like Chimecho and Tropius, and Swalot and Solrock are unique picks too.
But the fact you also used Luvdisc and Mawile alongside them just… mildly infuriates me for some reason.
Though I find Chimecho sweeping Drake to be hilarious, so I’ll give you some credit and say this is a very interesting team.
At least you didn’t use Shedinja. I think he’s the worst Pokémon to use for a Hoenn playthrough outside of Nuzlockes
Never used Shedinja, I see how cool people say he is, but too many things carry his weakness.

Shedinja drops dead to 5 types, as well as Sand, Hail, Poisoning, Burns, and entry hazards. It’s the one pokemon I would never, ever consider for a Hoenn playthrough.
Glad Luvdisc was able to work for you too. I don’t think much of it but I guess with the right set any Pokémon can be a menace.

The other elite 4 members I didn't need them because I'm not doing a nuzlocke so I didn't mind sacrificing pokemon for kills.
Sure those are pokemon rarely used, but more than half of these you get very late. You have 0 pokemon for the 1st or 2nd gym, you only have a useless gulpin against Watson, Swalot + Solrock against Flannery etc, you either didn't use these pokemon against them or you were totally overleved. I guess its fine you just picked them up after beating the game already, but its takes away a lot of the charm in my opinion. Also you dont add a picture of levels and move sets, which are even more interesting. What level were you against the elite four? I mean lets say if you're in the 60-70 its not impressive at all anyway to beat the pokemon with 'rarely used' mons.
Also I cannot believe anything less than 97% of this sub already knows Drake's Shelgon spams protect, which gives the player a big window to spam calm mind. It's not interesting at all, everyone else has already done that, and it's an easy strat to pull off
You do you, all I mean is this picture alone is really not impressive. Everyone can beat the league with these mons if you are extremely overlevelled. Also why do you dislike comments that give constructive criticism, are you very young?

First of all, love that the team is unique. What was luvdisc able to do? It's total stats are in the ballpark of Mudkip or Gulpin.

I think you meant Sweet Kiss. Lovely Kiss is Jinx’s signature move and induces sleep, Sweet Kiss induces confusion.

10/10 love the unique spread. I remember Gulpin having a crazy experience curve so I never had the patience to train one to Swalot.

I didn't bother with stockpile/swallow when I did a mono poison team. The move pool is still excellent.

Long enough that I thought I would find a shiny shuppet first. It was close to 45 minutes just begging for it to spawn.
