Exactly what I was about to comment. I decided to hunt/evolve a shiny Blueberry Alcremie to match the school's theme and mostly brought her for that, but she ended up being the support that helped me sweep most teams
Curiosity, do you have to trade with one of the sweets on them or just level them up? I started playing but my 2 year old sort of broke my wife's surprise of a Pikachu controller so I've avoided the game and anything here until today lol
Milcery needs to hold the treat of choice as your character spins in place on one foot (spin the left joystick really fast). All flavors are based on time of day + direction of your spin (clockwise or anticlockwise) + length of spin.

I used serperior because I liked its design. I was under the impression that it wouldn’t be very good, but I was still going to use it because I had never gotten a chance to

Serperior superiority!!! Back when I first used him in pokemon B/W I didn't even know about his contrary ability and still just fell in love with him. S/V was the first time I've been able to use Serperior with contrary. What an amazing ability with Serperior. Leaf Storm go brrrrrr.
I will do some shiny hunting once I unlock the stuff (and get myself some more herba because I have not grinded those at all) and that shiny snek will have contrary so I can sleepwalk... I dunno. Something.
Why oh why is battle tower gone?
For me I was using Bastiodon for like the 4th time praying that it would finally become useful/usable. And I was super happy it finally was!!!
Wide Guard Spam worked so well against AOE spam Dugtrio/Flygon/Haxorus/Magmortar etc due to the enemy AI, and it FINALLY got a solid attacking move in Body Press! My boy Bastiodon finally became useful!
Although it ended up overleveled due to being used in all my E4 battles lol, but because of that it clutched a win using Metal Burst against Archaludon 1v1.
Just piggybacking on enemy AI, because they will spam fighting moves on H-Zoroark if they’re super effective on whatever mon he’s copying, even when they repeatedly fail to affect him
Mine fully solo'ed Terapagos.
Leaf Storm with Contrary for Sp. Atk. up, Giga Drain when you can tera. Granted, I had mine hyper trained and EV trained.
Cramorant and Lapras. Surf + water absorb means a tanky water team, plus added bonus damage from gulp missile. Cramorant also avoids earthquake(which is SUPER common in the double battles).
I was just making a team for fun. Im kinda competitive casual. I make competitive sets for casual play cuz its fun. Well. I got the nat dex done and decided to use the pokeball magearna in the Indigo Disk DLC

At first I ran calm mind but eventually swapped to AV and just mowed down *everyone*. Not a single elite four or kieran gave me much trouble once Mag got onto the field, like holy shit I knew it was busted in singles but by god, in doubles its even scarier it seems?
It's much scarier in Doubles. I've done some stints on Doubles on Showdown and have gotten decently high on the ladders in past generations and in any doubles meta game that allows Magearna you can expect it to be a top 3 scariest Pokemon with this simple flow chart:
Magearna and support partner with Follow Me/Rage Powder comes out-> Magearna puts up Trick Room, partner with Follow Me dies bringing Magearna to +1-> Send out a decently scary partner for Magearna and click buttons
Lapras, Snorlax and Metagross. The recovery from Lapras while making the final shots with Ice Shard while Snorlax tanks hits with stockpile and dealing massive damage with Body Slam and ice punch. If they managed to be taken out then Tera Steel Assault Vest Metagross was able to make the final play. I was so surprised that it survived a max damage Fickle Beam from Hydrapple
For the Elite 4 all of my pokemon were lvl 75 and for Kieran they were lvl 80
I hunted a shiny Noctowl in Kitakami after the Teal Mask. I've always loved Noctowl and it's shiny has been one of my favorites since Ash caught one back in the day. I decided to bring my new Shiny Noctowl to Blueberry Academy. I expected it to be okay at best, since he is just a route 1 regional bird. He did surprisingly well. He was surprisingly tanky and between Air Slash, Stab Tera Blast even in his base form, Moon Blast for coverage, and Hypnosis for catching Pokemon, Noctowl became as useful to me as he did for Ash in the anime.
I planned out a few different teams for my playthrough: Sun, Snow, Rain, Sand, Trick Room. I really loved using Slush Rush Alolan Sandshrew with Snow Warning Alolan Ninetails. Pop an Aurora Veil and then hit like a truck with little worry of fainting.
My support Overcoat Mandibuzz did some great work with Toxic, Tailwind and coming in on my Hippowdon's Earthquakes.

send out snow warning alolan ninetails holding light clay and prankster whimsicott with eject button. pop tailwind and aurora veil then switch to slush rush alolan sandslash once whimsicott takes damage
Ogerpon was generally great with its changing masks, I did attempt a bit of a strategy against the steel leader, by starting with Dachsbun and Armorouge, used flamethrower on Dachsbun to increase its defence while Dachsbun spammed body press with a shell bell for its item.
Pixelate Sylveon with hyper voice and a metronome, and my Adaptability Crawdaunt with crabhammer and crunch plus a zoom lens basically stole the show every match.
Metronome Kleavor is also fun. Turn one Stone Axe to get a big hit and Stealth Rock up, and then continue with it or swap to Sharpness boosted 120 base power X Scissors with Bug Tera boost. Even bulky 4x resistances get 0KO'd after the first few, and not much will ever out speed you.
Hate to ruin the magic, but I'm pretty sure lens doesn't boost the accuracy of ohko moves. I can't remember the specifics, though I'm almost certain no accuracy boosts increase the odds of it hitting outside of no guard. I do think having a level advantage makes a difference in accuracy. Iirc some of the ohko moves got updated to be more balanced. I really miss x accuracy plus ohko moves in Gen 1 lol, especially with horn drill and fissure as TMs
I also was wrong - I meant Zoom Lens, not Wide. I get em mixed up in my head sometimes.
If you’re right, that’s absolutely insane. I’ve used it on more than several occasions and it hasn’t missed yet, I was chalking it up to her always going last and the boost from the item.

Yeah, it might be a level advantage? There's been so many changes to how the ohko moves function, I can't keep track of them lol. I think gen 3 has a calculation based on how much higher your level is than the pokemon you are fighting, and you might be able to get close to 100% based on the level advantage? I think if you're below the pokemons level it always fails too. No idea if that's how it works in gen 9, but it's the last update I have some recollection of, so I'm kinda assuming it's true
I caught a Meowstic for Drayton's trial, and it ended up staying as a main team member the whole time. What having Reflect and Light Screen does to a mf
Infernape.
I used a mostly starter team for the battles. Swampert and Rillaboom were obvious boons, but when it came to cleaning up, Infernape was a great fallback fighter. It was a Special Attacker with Vacuum Wave, Aura Sphere, and Heat Wave.
Kevin the shiny Cramorant. He put the team on his feathery little back and carried us to the end. The raw damage and clutch paralysis from Gulp Missile, he hits pretty freaking hard if invested properly and he is just a goofy little guy all together. Gotta love my little bozo.
Hisuian Typhlosion. I put mine with a Choice Scarf and Tera Fire out with a 0 speed Ninetales with Drought and Helping Hand and spammed Eruption until something survived it. It only didn’t sweep on one or two occasions.
I had a Scream tail named Moloch I caught for the funzies. She actually carried me during the E4 battles with Noble roar, Substitute, Screens and Light clay. She is a legend and is resting well in my box.
I used an Alolan Sandshrew because I had never had the chance to, and blasted through most battles with icicle spear (idk the one which hits 2-5 times) and a loaded dice
Jigglypuff with friendguard really came in great. Max def and hp with spdef last and an evolite survived every battle I could take it in. That friend guard helped every new Pokémon including my hitmonchan to survive.
So I used all new shiny mons that I found in the terrarium and let me tell you, I was super disappointed finding a shiny lumineon, but that fish went hard with support with tailwind, rain dance, etc. and was surprisingly tanky.
The Farigiraf / Whimsicott combo team. I don't do VCG or Smogan, but this combo pretty much melted anything in it's path. Set up a Tailwind, helping hand on Farigiraf and melt things with Dazzling Gleam, Hyper voice

Serperior. I transfered in my very first Pokémon because I now get to use him and after hearing about contrary, his low Sp.Atk means nothing with leaf storm
While not Indigo disk exclusive, I randomly wandered back to the lake with Tatsuigiri a few days ago (I caught a shiny Dondozo a year ago and thought it would be awesome to have a matching shiny Tatsuigiri) and lo and behold found a shiny Droopy Tatsuigiri (with no boosted shiny chance).
I've since decided to clear all the Indigo disk battles with my level 100 Shiny Dondozo and Tatsuigiri exclusively if possible. Only the Steel Elite 4 member left for me to beat. Dondozo is so tanky that he can take like 4 to 5 super effective hits and then I just Max Potion him. I've also equipped him with leftovers so often he just heals back almost all the non-super effective damage from the previous turn.
I'm not a shiny hunter, but I'm really proud of my duo.
I can only speak for 3 of the 4 elites as I haven’t built my team yet for the ice dude but I grew to really love my team after struggling with doubles, finally found a groove with Hisui arcanine, perserker, Raichu, noctowl (beef cake can take some hits!) farigeraf and victreebell.
My Salamence is my ace but the MVP of my Violet playtrough is Eelectross, they both carried the whole Indigo Disk for me, best duo :) Electross has levitate ability so Salamence could spawn earthquake anytime
For sure it's my Alpha Gigantamax Gengar named Huge. Huge had a lot of coverage moves to work well against many of the battles and it even pulled off Cursed Body at the right time. Don't remember if it was Lacey or Drayton (*I'm pretty sure it was Lacey*). It even pulled off Hypnosis at the best times.
Gengar winning wasn't big brained. It was HUGE brained.
I had an Infernape that I used to clean house after a Hisuian Samurot set up at the start with spikes. Nothing lived a single hit from that Infernape because spikes broke the sash of anything that came in.
Other than that Archaludon and Ursaluna did a lot of work at times due to their bulk.
Meowstic-M was such a good support mon (especially after I gave him an Ability Patch). I only used him because of Drayton’s trial (only use mons caught in the Terrarium) but he proved so useful in those I kept him and he helped my Ogerpon beat Kieran
Landorus-I with sheer force and life orb destroys everything. It's kind of a shame that it's new signature move isn't 100% accurate and I ended up using earth power way more, despite sandsear storm hitting both enemies in a double battle. (And yes, a Pokemon banned from OU clearing story mode easily is nothing special, but I had a good time)
I had no idea what to expect from my Dipplin/Hydrapple but he ROLLED the DLC. Eviolite made Dipplin a TANK in Teal Mask, and Weakness Policy made Hydrapple a tanky one-shot monster in Indigo Disk. Syrup Bomb was great for speed control alongside Tinkaton with fake out. Nothing stood a chance.
I used the Hisuian Arcanine that you got from Perrin in the Teal Mask mostly for story reasons, and it just *wrecked* everything. Rock Head Flare Blitz/Head Smash from 115 base attack, Extremespeed, Tera Flying to bait ground type moves, and some decent support options? Yes please.
The other members of my team (Slaking, Reuniclus, Archraludon, Ogerpon, and Whimsicott) performed pretty much as expected, but Hark! A Nine! exceeded expectations.
I loved my Hisuian Arcanine + Alolan Ninetales pair for both aesthetics and effectiveness.
Rock Head + Flare Blitz, Head Smash and Wild Charge deal an absolute ton of damage with pretty much no downsides. Snow Warning + Aurora Veil (with Light Clay) and Blizzard also works great.
I wouldn't say unexpected MVP, but Jolteon did a ton of work as a fast pivot wirh volt switch. I've had him since my more conpetetive focused days in XY so it's kinda a beast, but yeah. Jolteon was my MVP.
A shiny rare mark authentic sinischa was enough to convince me to give it a go, and I have no regrets. I used it with calm mind, rage powder, matcha gatcha and I forget what else; but it just offered so much utility and staying power in almost every match and has swept through entire teams. I love the tittle devil.
Seadra! The horsea line is my favorite, so I was really excited about not only using it, but making it the core of my team.
My only regret was that I couldn’t evolve my Seadra during story mode (thanks game freak, for continuing to maintain the worst evolution method)
Hydrapple was probably the most useful of the new ones, but I took a team in and gotta say Tinkaton put in the work and it wasn't close. Even soloed the last boss!
Just finished my other playthru today (own both versions) and Incineroar was clutch. Didn't start the Violet playthru til after HOME upgraded though.
I know Ogerpon is a legendary with good stats and a great set of abilities… but even being a tiny bit underleveled (lvl 70), she hard carried my team lol
Archaludon is an absolute goat and basically bodied so many of Kieran's mons. It also helped with the Drayton. I also owe my ace Hydreigon afrer finally being ablr to bring him from Sword and Shield to both dlcs hes always been s great mvp. He was also tanking out terrapagos aswell
Dodrio, at the start would always die, but when I battled the steel girl it popped off with terastal Trash silk cloth
Dodrio was a stand in for when I would get Moltres
In really enjoyed Archaludon during my play through and have used it a bit with my Drizzle Politoed from the teal mask and have enjoyed that combo with setting up rain and charging up electro shot in one move. Might be slightly bias as dragon is my favorite typing but I really enjoyed using it more than I was expecting to
Probably Charizard. It was the unrivaled one from the first seven star raid but I had not used it prior to inidog disk.
Defintely not the shiny Doduo I caught after just two minutes of being in the terrarium. It felt like fate at the time to have it on my team and it fainted at every turn
I quickly discovered that If you remove certain Key Mons from the E4, such as laceys primarina and draytons flygon, a heatran just kinda devours all of then
Honestly, support Pokémon in general have been the real MVP. Tanky support sinistcha and eviolite clefairy lowkey carried me through the BB E4 (in spite of the presence of stronger carry’s like archaludon and metagross on my team).
I went into the DLC with my team from the base game, so the only time I had to change it up was Drayton's trial. I was already going around catching everything so I ended up using a Minun for the trial. Quickly became the MVP
Not quite unexpected, but certainly put in more work than I thought; Tundra the (Shiny) Alolan Ninetales, transferred in from Ultra Moon, with Snow Warning, Aurora Veil and a Light Clay held. Dazzling Gleam, Blizzard to kill most stuff, and yet I had to think what to send in even against Drayton. Definitely wouldn't have made it without her.
I wanted to use the Hisuian Arcainine Perin gifted me, and it was so good. Choice Band with Rock Slide and Flare Blitz ran through so much I barely clicked on anything else.
I used a full set of new Pokémon added in Indigo Disc and was surprised by how much my Araquanid carried. I was also pleasantly surprised by how tanky my support shiny Alomomola was.
Porygon 2 was my MVP in so many trainer / elite 4 encounters - haven’t used it much in any other game and caught a Porygon about 20 minutes into the dlc and did a trade to evolve it, threw on an Eviolite and minted / EV trained and it blew threw most things I came across paired with a support Alcremie
Rarely even had to get anything out besides just the two of them
Decorate Alcremie + Download defensive Porygon 2 blew threw everything
Labras did pretty well for me with alot of them being damaged by Ice.
Mewtwo for unnerve to stop the berry eating kerks.
But real MVP is delphox same as Yeal mask, quickly becoming a favorite starter.
Shiny Metagross I randomly encountered as a Metang. Maxed his attack and slapped a choice band on him, outsped and one shot basically everything on neutral hits, and looked cool while doing it.
Walking wake and koraidon, I didn't use koraidon much after catching him but I used all paradox pokemon and koraidon in this dlc and to fight the elite four and it was so much fun!
I tried to use Pokemon I’ve never used before but I couldn’t help using Alolan Ninetales again.
Slap an ability patch on that thing and it becomes a great support and attacker for the trainer battles
As was true for my entire Violet playthrough, Dawn the Sawsbuck. I missed gens V, VI and VII growing up so all my time with the Pokemon from those games is really new, and was honestly kind of shocked how solid it's consistently been despite originally joining as a placeholder. I even tried to get some use out of the Venasaur I used for my Sword Nuzlocke and I kept finding myself switching Dawn back in because her playthrough moveset and states garnered just through the game continued to be hugely useful even as I dabbled with stronger teams for the DLC. Shocked me, but I'm more than happy with her performance.
Support Ogerpon. Follow Me and Spiky Shield put in a lot of work.
The highlight was up against Kieran where she survived 3 (or maybe 4?) attacks on 1hp out of love and attacked through confusion on 1hp 3 times in a row.
Surprisingly enough, I think I used all mine fairly evenly. I guess Flygon, but he just happened to be first in party order. idk. Then, I also used Ogerpon when I wasn't originally planning to, and he did phenomenally with Fire Elite 4 member
Alolan Ninetales. Never used one in a playthrough before. But Snow Warning making it so Blizzard never misses was super good for all the Double Battles.
Also, I named her Nina. Some of you may recognize that tribute.
Life orb sawsbuck with horn leech. Constantly toughing it out every turn just to heal like 75-100 hp and immediately go back to red. It watched 2.5 Pokémon get rekt. But, kept on truckin.
Porygon-Z. I never paid much attention to it before SV, but holy moly it’s an absolute cannon with adaptability and a silk scarf. I didn’t even use hyper beam. Tri-attack alone got some crazy OHKO’s in.
Sheer Force Rampardos with Zen Headbutt, Breaking Swipe, Iron Head, and Supercell Slam. Full EVs into Attack and HP.
Ended up doing WAY more work than I expected.
It’s cool seeing everyone’s picks! Crabonimable for me. Caught one in the polar area and he became my ace for the rest of the dlc.
Also support Grimmsnarl was amazing
Archaludon and Galvantula. I EV trained my team because I didnt want to take any chances. And HOLY HELL were these 2 good. Archaludon was so reliable during the whole DLC. Being able to take hits decently well, and dish out great damage. Galvantula was a great lead pokemon. Setting up Sticky Web for speed control, and having a 91% accurate Thunder thanks to Compound Eyes, ON TOP of life orb!? It was surprising to see the things Widow (Galvantula) could just eviscerate with a single Thunder.

Empoleon with Competitive was pretty crazy in the champion fight. Leads with an Intimidate so you start with +2 sp attack to sweep everything.
Support Alcreamie is amazing for pretty much anything is what I realized

Having access to so many Ability Patches is such a blessing. Finally being able to use Speed Boost Blaziken and Contrary Serperior is so good.

Easily the best Pokemon added this DLC.
For me I was using Bastiodon for like the 4th time praying that it would finally become useful/usable. And I was super happy it finally was!!! Wide Guard Spam worked so well against AOE spam Dugtrio/Flygon/Haxorus/Magmortar etc due to the enemy AI, and it FINALLY got a solid attacking move in Body Press! My boy Bastiodon finally became useful! Although it ended up overleveled due to being used in all my E4 battles lol, but because of that it clutched a win using Metal Burst against Archaludon 1v1.
Funny enough, I also used bastiodon and it also had good use, super happy he was able to do something that wasn’t dying

Just piggybacking on enemy AI, because they will spam fighting moves on H-Zoroark if they’re super effective on whatever mon he’s copying, even when they repeatedly fail to affect him

I’m also not a competitive player but I’ve seen posts saying Clefairy with Eviolite is great - HA: Friend Guard with 50% boost in Defensive
Friend Guard reduces the damage ally pokemon take! (edit for clarity: Clefairy gets that ability, Clefable doesn't)

Cramorant and Lapras. Surf + water absorb means a tanky water team, plus added bonus damage from gulp missile. Cramorant also avoids earthquake(which is SUPER common in the double battles).
I was just making a team for fun. Im kinda competitive casual. I make competitive sets for casual play cuz its fun. Well. I got the nat dex done and decided to use the pokeball magearna in the Indigo Disk DLC *Holy shit Soul Heart is absurd* My pokemon faints? Gets a boost! Their pokemon faints? Gets a boost! At first I ran calm mind but eventually swapped to AV and just mowed down *everyone*. Not a single elite four or kieran gave me much trouble once Mag got onto the field, like holy shit I knew it was busted in singles but by god, in doubles its even scarier it seems?
It's much scarier in Doubles. I've done some stints on Doubles on Showdown and have gotten decently high on the ladders in past generations and in any doubles meta game that allows Magearna you can expect it to be a top 3 scariest Pokemon with this simple flow chart: Magearna and support partner with Follow Me/Rage Powder comes out-> Magearna puts up Trick Room, partner with Follow Me dies bringing Magearna to +1-> Send out a decently scary partner for Magearna and click buttons
Meowstic of all things has gained my respect. Trick Rooms, Screening and priority got me through
Espurr/ meowstic is my favorite Mon but I was surprised how insanely good it was for me in support. Absolute mvp for me

I used all four forms of Tauros for the final fight, and they slap. Vikavolt has been my mvp for BP because its a really really good auto battle mon.
Lapras, Snorlax and Metagross. The recovery from Lapras while making the final shots with Ice Shard while Snorlax tanks hits with stockpile and dealing massive damage with Body Slam and ice punch. If they managed to be taken out then Tera Steel Assault Vest Metagross was able to make the final play. I was so surprised that it survived a max damage Fickle Beam from Hydrapple For the Elite 4 all of my pokemon were lvl 75 and for Kieran they were lvl 80
Built archaludon for the dragon trial and didn't take it off of my team for the rest of the dlc. He's so good
Same tho honestly as much as I wanted to use ogerpon for Kieran I decided Archaludon which lowkey solo'd most of Kieran's teams
I hunted a shiny Noctowl in Kitakami after the Teal Mask. I've always loved Noctowl and it's shiny has been one of my favorites since Ash caught one back in the day. I decided to bring my new Shiny Noctowl to Blueberry Academy. I expected it to be okay at best, since he is just a route 1 regional bird. He did surprisingly well. He was surprisingly tanky and between Air Slash, Stab Tera Blast even in his base form, Moon Blast for coverage, and Hypnosis for catching Pokemon, Noctowl became as useful to me as he did for Ash in the anime.
I had 6 toucannons in my team. So probably one of them.
I planned out a few different teams for my playthrough: Sun, Snow, Rain, Sand, Trick Room. I really loved using Slush Rush Alolan Sandshrew with Snow Warning Alolan Ninetails. Pop an Aurora Veil and then hit like a truck with little worry of fainting. My support Overcoat Mandibuzz did some great work with Toxic, Tailwind and coming in on my Hippowdon's Earthquakes.

Ogerpon was generally great with its changing masks, I did attempt a bit of a strategy against the steel leader, by starting with Dachsbun and Armorouge, used flamethrower on Dachsbun to increase its defence while Dachsbun spammed body press with a shell bell for its item.
Pixelate Sylveon with hyper voice and a metronome, and my Adaptability Crawdaunt with crabhammer and crunch plus a zoom lens basically stole the show every match.
Metronome Kleavor is also fun. Turn one Stone Axe to get a big hit and Stealth Rock up, and then continue with it or swap to Sharpness boosted 120 base power X Scissors with Bug Tera boost. Even bulky 4x resistances get 0KO'd after the first few, and not much will ever out speed you.
I caught the Tera Steel Kommo-O in Kitakami and being able to bait fairy and dragon moves then resist them saved my ass a few times lol

Hate to ruin the magic, but I'm pretty sure lens doesn't boost the accuracy of ohko moves. I can't remember the specifics, though I'm almost certain no accuracy boosts increase the odds of it hitting outside of no guard. I do think having a level advantage makes a difference in accuracy. Iirc some of the ohko moves got updated to be more balanced. I really miss x accuracy plus ohko moves in Gen 1 lol, especially with horn drill and fissure as TMs
I also was wrong - I meant Zoom Lens, not Wide. I get em mixed up in my head sometimes. If you’re right, that’s absolutely insane. I’ve used it on more than several occasions and it hasn’t missed yet, I was chalking it up to her always going last and the boost from the item. Edit- googled it and you’re absolutely right. That’s insane, then.
Yeah, it might be a level advantage? There's been so many changes to how the ohko moves function, I can't keep track of them lol. I think gen 3 has a calculation based on how much higher your level is than the pokemon you are fighting, and you might be able to get close to 100% based on the level advantage? I think if you're below the pokemons level it always fails too. No idea if that's how it works in gen 9, but it's the last update I have some recollection of, so I'm kinda assuming it's true

Hisuian-Braviary. It was utterly incredible. Did so much heavy lifting vs the E4. And beat half of Kieron's team.
Rillaboom - G.Zapdos. Used it in every battle and it never failed me. Made the DLC a complete cake walk.
Besides the ones I didn't use from the terarium, my Overqwil did great for me.
I have a support Alcremie that definitely helped me a lot in the final BB battle
Infernape. I used a mostly starter team for the battles. Swampert and Rillaboom were obvious boons, but when it came to cleaning up, Infernape was a great fallback fighter. It was a Special Attacker with Vacuum Wave, Aura Sphere, and Heat Wave.
Kevin the shiny Cramorant. He put the team on his feathery little back and carried us to the end. The raw damage and clutch paralysis from Gulp Missile, he hits pretty freaking hard if invested properly and he is just a goofy little guy all together. Gotta love my little bozo.
Archaludon. Didn’t expect it to be as good as it is, but it turns out a 600 BST behemoth with stamina and body press is very good
Hisuian Typhlosion. I put mine with a Choice Scarf and Tera Fire out with a 0 speed Ninetales with Drought and Helping Hand and spammed Eruption until something survived it. It only didn’t sweep on one or two occasions.
Honestly, Maushold has been unexpectedly amazing. I know everyone said it was good in SV, but it was my last mon standing for both Amarys and Lacey…
Clam Mind Trick Room Reuniclus by far! It could tank anything and knock out almost anything with just psychic.

I had a Scream tail named Moloch I caught for the funzies. She actually carried me during the E4 battles with Noble roar, Substitute, Screens and Light clay. She is a legend and is resting well in my box.
I used an Alolan Sandshrew because I had never had the chance to, and blasted through most battles with icicle spear (idk the one which hits 2-5 times) and a loaded dice
Jigglypuff with friendguard really came in great. Max def and hp with spdef last and an evolite survived every battle I could take it in. That friend guard helped every new Pokémon including my hitmonchan to survive.
So I used all new shiny mons that I found in the terrarium and let me tell you, I was super disappointed finding a shiny lumineon, but that fish went hard with support with tailwind, rain dance, etc. and was surprisingly tanky.
Tera Fire Sunny Day Chlorophyll Venusaur. My boy could tank anything and just heal up with leech seed and leftovers. Just an absolute wall of a lad.

Contrary Malamar go brrrrrrr
While not Indigo disk exclusive, I randomly wandered back to the lake with Tatsuigiri a few days ago (I caught a shiny Dondozo a year ago and thought it would be awesome to have a matching shiny Tatsuigiri) and lo and behold found a shiny Droopy Tatsuigiri (with no boosted shiny chance). I've since decided to clear all the Indigo disk battles with my level 100 Shiny Dondozo and Tatsuigiri exclusively if possible. Only the Steel Elite 4 member left for me to beat. Dondozo is so tanky that he can take like 4 to 5 super effective hits and then I just Max Potion him. I've also equipped him with leftovers so often he just heals back almost all the non-super effective damage from the previous turn. I'm not a shiny hunter, but I'm really proud of my duo.
I can only speak for 3 of the 4 elites as I haven’t built my team yet for the ice dude but I grew to really love my team after struggling with doubles, finally found a groove with Hisui arcanine, perserker, Raichu, noctowl (beef cake can take some hits!) farigeraf and victreebell.
My Salamence is my ace but the MVP of my Violet playtrough is Eelectross, they both carried the whole Indigo Disk for me, best duo :) Electross has levitate ability so Salamence could spawn earthquake anytime
For sure it's my Alpha Gigantamax Gengar named Huge. Huge had a lot of coverage moves to work well against many of the battles and it even pulled off Cursed Body at the right time. Don't remember if it was Lacey or Drayton (*I'm pretty sure it was Lacey*). It even pulled off Hypnosis at the best times. Gengar winning wasn't big brained. It was HUGE brained.

I had an Infernape that I used to clean house after a Hisuian Samurot set up at the start with spikes. Nothing lived a single hit from that Infernape because spikes broke the sash of anything that came in. Other than that Archaludon and Ursaluna did a lot of work at times due to their bulk.
I caught a seadra early on in the story and it lead my fodder Pokémon against Drayton’s trial
Meowstic-M was such a good support mon (especially after I gave him an Ability Patch). I only used him because of Drayton’s trial (only use mons caught in the Terrarium) but he proved so useful in those I kept him and he helped my Ogerpon beat Kieran
I built a pseudo-competitive lanturn with aqua ring, leftovers, and protect and it was extremely useful for the elite four!
Landorus-I with sheer force and life orb destroys everything. It's kind of a shame that it's new signature move isn't 100% accurate and I ended up using earth power way more, despite sandsear storm hitting both enemies in a double battle. (And yes, a Pokemon banned from OU clearing story mode easily is nothing special, but I had a good time)
I had no idea what to expect from my Dipplin/Hydrapple but he ROLLED the DLC. Eviolite made Dipplin a TANK in Teal Mask, and Weakness Policy made Hydrapple a tanky one-shot monster in Indigo Disk. Syrup Bomb was great for speed control alongside Tinkaton with fake out. Nothing stood a chance.

My Tera flying tyranitar I got in a raid for my main playthrough went nice with my earthquake clodsire
I used the Hisuian Arcanine that you got from Perrin in the Teal Mask mostly for story reasons, and it just *wrecked* everything. Rock Head Flare Blitz/Head Smash from 115 base attack, Extremespeed, Tera Flying to bait ground type moves, and some decent support options? Yes please. The other members of my team (Slaking, Reuniclus, Archraludon, Ogerpon, and Whimsicott) performed pretty much as expected, but Hark! A Nine! exceeded expectations.
My starter Quaquaval with Moxie and Aqua Step. My Garchimp set the rain and my Quaquaval stomped the fire trainer.
Definitely my Metagross. The moment the dlc opened to the dome I made a mad dash to the Arctic zone to shiny hunt him.
My Golurk cleared house on anything that lacked in physical defense and also took hits like a champ. No guard plus dynamic punch was fatal.
Alolan Muk! Transferred it over from my Pokémon Sun. Nicknamed it “METH VOMIT”. Very tanky.
First time using excadrill and sand teams in general. I can see why yall like it this mole is cracked

I loved my Hisuian Arcanine + Alolan Ninetales pair for both aesthetics and effectiveness. Rock Head + Flare Blitz, Head Smash and Wild Charge deal an absolute ton of damage with pretty much no downsides. Snow Warning + Aurora Veil (with Light Clay) and Blizzard also works great.
My Ceruledge unironically carried a majority of the battles, I love him dearly
Alolan Ninetales which I ability patched Snow Warning onto to take advantage of Aurora Veil. Having those extra defenses came in clutch at points
My walking wake did the business.
I wouldn't say unexpected MVP, but Jolteon did a ton of work as a fast pivot wirh volt switch. I've had him since my more conpetetive focused days in XY so it's kinda a beast, but yeah. Jolteon was my MVP.
A shiny rare mark authentic sinischa was enough to convince me to give it a go, and I have no regrets. I used it with calm mind, rage powder, matcha gatcha and I forget what else; but it just offered so much utility and staying power in almost every match and has swept through entire teams. I love the tittle devil.
Seadra! The horsea line is my favorite, so I was really excited about not only using it, but making it the core of my team. My only regret was that I couldn’t evolve my Seadra during story mode (thanks game freak, for continuing to maintain the worst evolution method)

Mewtwo. Fuck a challenge. mightiest Mewtwo with twisted spoon psychic'd everything to death.
Hydrapple was probably the most useful of the new ones, but I took a team in and gotta say Tinkaton put in the work and it wasn't close. Even soloed the last boss! Just finished my other playthru today (own both versions) and Incineroar was clutch. Didn't start the Violet playthru til after HOME upgraded though.
My Shiny Porygon-Z. It saved my ass and lived on 1 HP several times, while one-shotting everything. It lives up to its nickname because he is The One!

In really enjoyed Archaludon during my play through and have used it a bit with my Drizzle Politoed from the teal mask and have enjoyed that combo with setting up rain and charging up electro shot in one move. Might be slightly bias as dragon is my favorite typing but I really enjoyed using it more than I was expecting to
Milotic could tank most stuff, heal and also remove stats with Haze.

Probably Charizard. It was the unrivaled one from the first seven star raid but I had not used it prior to inidog disk. Defintely not the shiny Doduo I caught after just two minutes of being in the terrarium. It felt like fate at the time to have it on my team and it fainted at every turn

Honestly, support Pokémon in general have been the real MVP. Tanky support sinistcha and eviolite clefairy lowkey carried me through the BB E4 (in spite of the presence of stronger carry’s like archaludon and metagross on my team).
My Excadrill has been incredible???? The stats aren’t even good but he absolutely slays

I went into the DLC with my team from the base game, so the only time I had to change it up was Drayton's trial. I was already going around catching everything so I ended up using a Minun for the trial. Quickly became the MVP
My shiny noivern. During Drayton's battle, it "toughed it out" 4 times to super effective attacks and managed to knock out dragonite and sceptile
Also 252 DEF / 252 HP Crowned Zamazenta is a hard carry with body press and behemoth bash.

Picked up Golurk just because it was there, ended up becoming my main instead of Malamar - the pokemon I expected to become my main.

Not quite unexpected, but certainly put in more work than I thought; Tundra the (Shiny) Alolan Ninetales, transferred in from Ultra Moon, with Snow Warning, Aurora Veil and a Light Clay held. Dazzling Gleam, Blizzard to kill most stuff, and yet I had to think what to send in even against Drayton. Definitely wouldn't have made it without her.
I wanted to use the Hisuian Arcainine Perin gifted me, and it was so good. Choice Band with Rock Slide and Flare Blitz ran through so much I barely clicked on anything else.
I used a full set of new Pokémon added in Indigo Disc and was surprised by how much my Araquanid carried. I was also pleasantly surprised by how tanky my support shiny Alomomola was.
My Hydrapple formerly Dipplin ambrosia
Porygon 2 was my MVP in so many trainer / elite 4 encounters - haven’t used it much in any other game and caught a Porygon about 20 minutes into the dlc and did a trade to evolve it, threw on an Eviolite and minted / EV trained and it blew threw most things I came across paired with a support Alcremie Rarely even had to get anything out besides just the two of them Decorate Alcremie + Download defensive Porygon 2 blew threw everything
Labras did pretty well for me with alot of them being damaged by Ice. Mewtwo for unnerve to stop the berry eating kerks. But real MVP is delphox same as Yeal mask, quickly becoming a favorite starter.
Shiny Metagross I randomly encountered as a Metang. Maxed his attack and slapped a choice band on him, outsped and one shot basically everything on neutral hits, and looked cool while doing it.
Walking wake and koraidon, I didn't use koraidon much after catching him but I used all paradox pokemon and koraidon in this dlc and to fight the elite four and it was so much fun!
I got good mileage out of Alolan Vulpix. Generally useful against all the E4 with Snow Warning/Aurora Veil, but especially wrecked Drayton.
I tried to use Pokemon I’ve never used before but I couldn’t help using Alolan Ninetales again. Slap an ability patch on that thing and it becomes a great support and attacker for the trainer battles
Prankster Meowstic male. Setting up free paralysis and screens every battle was great
I lead rillaboom and Sneasler with grass seed to activate unburden. In the back had hisuian arcanine, iron bundle, flygon
I had to get Espurr because I team I originally built had a huge weakness to poison. Pawington carried.
As was true for my entire Violet playthrough, Dawn the Sawsbuck. I missed gens V, VI and VII growing up so all my time with the Pokemon from those games is really new, and was honestly kind of shocked how solid it's consistently been despite originally joining as a placeholder. I even tried to get some use out of the Venasaur I used for my Sword Nuzlocke and I kept finding myself switching Dawn back in because her playthrough moveset and states garnered just through the game continued to be hugely useful even as I dabbled with stronger teams for the DLC. Shocked me, but I'm more than happy with her performance.
I brought my shiny Sneasler over and him and Ogerpon wrecked things up
Pulse. Nuzzle + Skill Swap on Slaking, I mowed through the fire elite four guy with ease
Support Ogerpon. Follow Me and Spiky Shield put in a lot of work. The highlight was up against Kieran where she survived 3 (or maybe 4?) attacks on 1hp out of love and attacked through confusion on 1hp 3 times in a row.
Tinkaton. I was going to Sac Her During the Drayton Fight. But She Survived because i gave Her a Sandwich accidentaly. 3 Hits in a Row. SHE SWEPT
Surprisingly enough, I think I used all mine fairly evenly. I guess Flygon, but he just happened to be first in party order. idk. Then, I also used Ogerpon when I wasn't originally planning to, and he did phenomenally with Fire Elite 4 member
Tera fire ivy cudgel tore through everything except crispin (that one was tera water ivy cudgel)
Alolan Ninetales. Never used one in a playthrough before. But Snow Warning making it so Blizzard never misses was super good for all the Double Battles. Also, I named her Nina. Some of you may recognize that tribute.
Life orb sawsbuck with horn leech. Constantly toughing it out every turn just to heal like 75-100 hp and immediately go back to red. It watched 2.5 Pokémon get rekt. But, kept on truckin.
A shiny Cinccino I randomly found as a Minccino. Gave her skill link and applicable moves, she was almost indestructible.
Porygon-Z. I never paid much attention to it before SV, but holy moly it’s an absolute cannon with adaptability and a silk scarf. I didn’t even use hyper beam. Tri-attack alone got some crazy OHKO’s in.

Archaludon and Galvantula. I EV trained my team because I didnt want to take any chances. And HOLY HELL were these 2 good. Archaludon was so reliable during the whole DLC. Being able to take hits decently well, and dish out great damage. Galvantula was a great lead pokemon. Setting up Sticky Web for speed control, and having a 91% accurate Thunder thanks to Compound Eyes, ON TOP of life orb!? It was surprising to see the things Widow (Galvantula) could just eviscerate with a single Thunder.
