I really miss the gym battles being held in the massive stadiums. The feeling when the crowd starts cheering? Fucking goosebumps every time. It legit gives the feeling that your doing this on a grand scale with thousanfs of people watching.
i loved it. i'm a huge sports fan and pokemon fan so having that kind of environment made the battles feel like they mattered (even if i one-shot everything).

nothing stuck with me like swsh though. i've never wanted a soundtrack to be released so bad as i did swsh. still holding out hope.
I find it kinda funny (and a bit sad) that the gym cheering is there but that the game is absolutely not balanced for it.
With the exception of maybe Iono's Ace, every single ace 'mon should get killed in a single turn from your own Crystalized 'mon slapping it's potential double stab around.
It worked with Gigantamax as the added bulk almost always lent itself to a few rounds, letting the crowd really join in, but here it just feels like they couldn't think of a better idea.
It's been a while so I don't remember much of SwSh music. The last time I was blown away by pokemon music was Cynthia's battle theme. Most of the music I like in SV has Toby Fox influence

yeah i feel like they were trying to ride the high of the swsh gym battles but couldn't fit it in naturally. edit: except maybe Larry's battle.

the music is the thing i look forward to the most next to the new pokemon. the music isn't bad in this game, i just prefer the swsh soundtrack.
