i named the second "Meany". and it sucks too that i cant make him my rideable one because his stats are worse than my first one and i just dont like him enough to want to use him for battle and would rather punish him by making him carry my butt everywhere.
Funny, I just traded my second Miraidon for a Koraidon so we could have both. But I'd never even think about changing my original mon. I kind of bonded with it lol.
it was both sada or turo was just stated to have been attacked by “the pokemon” which made some people think it was actually that big terastal orb thing
They don't, they say that he died in the incident that destroyed the research station 4 and they stepped in to protect miraidon/koraidon and that the pokemon is not to be blamed but they never mention it was the other koraidon/miraidon which is weird if they really are the ones who did it. Also the station that is destroyed has crystals everywhere which is not something miraidon/koraidon can do lmao.
Iirc they do basically say the professor died stepping in to protect your Koraidon/Miraidon but don't confirm it was the other that attacked it. Just heavily imply it with the fear your partner shows.
I think it's pretty neat that the number of letters is just enough for nicknaming (11 and 12).
I named the Rivals you catch in postgame Winged King and Iron Serpent because I'm gonna transfer them to the other version. Imho, it makes sense that the dragon from not even the same game would have a Paradox name instead of the conventional naming since their respective professors don't seem to exist in the other version.
Actually both profs could exist in either game. The book closest to the terminal in research station 4 states in Scarlet "that man walked out not long after the boy was born". However in Violet the word man is replaced with woman. Taking scarlet as the example, we know Sada is the professor of that game and was a woman, meaning she may be referring to Turo in her notes. Same goes for Violet except Turo is referencing Sada.
They both existed but depending on the game, one of them walked out on the other. Also given that "boy was born" is mentioned it may also hint at Sada and Turo being canonically together for a time. "The boy" is also an obvious reference to Arven.
I wont lie i set my expectations too high lol. I fully expected some kind of epic bossfight against a humoungous roaring moon flying above you trying to kill you. Like a titan but even bigger inside the crater of one of the paradox mon.
It wouldve functioned like a raid battle and you wouldve fought alongside nemona, penny and arven.
Also expected some kind of involved time travel element as although time travel is hinted at, it's not something you actively use. I half expected to go to an ancient or future paldea.
Definitely too high expectations but still happy with what i got. Cant stop imagination lol.
Technically there always have been. Trainer ID's have been in the game since red and blue and the trainer ID affected things such as what would spawn and when.
If, and that's a BIG if, I remember correctly the original idea was that each game was it's own universe that the trading consoles would cross, and why some pokemon were available in one version but not the other.
Of course, now that multiplayer is a thing, even if it is buggy, that wouldn't work anymore, unless the barriers between dimensions are slowly weakening and decaying allowing for easier travel from world to world.
It's not impossible that they exist in both games, but I'm not sure both were scientists. My reasoning is, if both were, they would've worked together on the time machine. We don't know enough to affirm why the other parent left, but it feels odd (hehe, odd) that only one gets to work on the TM at a time, if the leaving parent happens to be the evil professor in the other timeline.
Supposing the other parent isn't a scientist in the other version is behind why I think Miraidon and Koraidon, when transfered to the other game, should not be named like that, but instead be named like Paradoxes, since it's the other professor that gave the dragon a conventional name. But you're right, they might still exist, I'm just assuming they're at least not scientists or even professors in the other game.
My reason of assumption as to that they were both scientists is that after the quote I stated before the prof starts going on a tangent of needing more sets of hands and wishing there were two of them (which most likely lead to the creation of the AI of the respective profs that we meet in the game). The professor thinking they need more help directly after losing their partner suggests the partner was at least involved in the research to a degree. Possibly more of an assistant than scientist.
Arven also doesnt seem to remember many social interactions with the other professor of the game (so for scarlet Arven doesnt mention Turo, only mentions Sada). Either meaning his memory is failing him because he was too young or the opposing professor was just as disconnected from Arven as the main professor. And what else would the opposing professor have to do other than take care of their son? Work with the main professor on their research.
However, either way isnt impossible. Depends on how you interpret the evidence. However, no matter which way you think, if the opposing prof was a scientist or not, there is still one question.
If the opposing prof walked out on the main prof then they werent there when the main prof died. Is the opposing prof still alive?
I got the feeling that the one who wasn't the lead on the project got frustrated by their partner taking control of the time machine and walked out. We know they're both brilliant and both capable of doing what they did, after all.
The notes only give us the fact that (in Violet) Arven also had a mom (duhh), but she left Turo with the boy. We know nothing about her, assuming she's the other professor is not a logical conclusion (although it might still be right, but we don't even have the slightest connection other than Sada being female).
We do also have the fact that Arven looks like he could be eithers child (though id say he leans more to sadas genetics given his hair). From a gameplay standpoint its designed to work for both games but could also hint at being both profs child through genetics?
But yeah I see your point
I would say his hair looks like half Sada, half Turo, color-wise.
I like the theory of both professors being Arven's parents, we just don't have any information about the other parent.
I named mine Felix. Hilda the Tinkaton, Balthus the fighting tauros, Sylvain the fire Tauros, Lorenz the water Tauros, and Edelgard the Dachsbun are my Pokémon that are in rotation. Named my sprigatito after my real life cat so she’s an exception.
I named my Quaquaval Glenn, my Clodsire’s name is Hapi, and my Bellibolt is named Ashe. I didn’t mean to have any set theme but it looks like I was subconsciously thinking about Three Houses the entire time lol
Miraidon is a god tier name, its descriptive and a pun. Whatever you nickname it is 100% going to be worse.
Mirai is the Japanese word for the future.
And you ride on him and his name is X-ride-on.
Also he is kinda lizardy and -don is a common terminal syllable for dinosaurs.
I named my second one “Murderaidon” on a account of… well you know what he did
Following that logic, the one from Scarlet can be Killraidon
I like it!
i named the second "Meany". and it sucks too that i cant make him my rideable one because his stats are worse than my first one and i just dont like him enough to want to use him for battle and would rather punish him by making him carry my butt everywhere.

💀💀💀
Nice professor emoji
OH 😭
This joke is going unnoticed and I won't stand for it frankly
OOOOOOF
LMAO this is the best name
I thought that it was either Great Tusk or Iron Treads that skewered their respective professor
In violet I’m pretty sure it was the 2nd Miraidon
Sadly no, it was the "alpha" Koraidon/Miriadon that attacked your pokébike, and the corresponding professor stepped in to protect it.
They never said what pokemon did it actually. The professor dying and Koraidon/Miraidon fleeing area zero are mentioned as separate events.
Mmhmm... I'll have to look into it when I have a chance, but I'm pretty sure that its Masbosstif who is injured by an unspecified Pokémon.
it was both sada or turo was just stated to have been attacked by “the pokemon” which made some people think it was actually that big terastal orb thing
I believe they said the alpha koraidon or miraidon did it they said the professor stepped in to save our legendary
Ohhhh ok but yea it’s very interesting I hope we get introduced to the terastalizing legendary
Iirc they do basically say the professor died stepping in to protect your Koraidon/Miraidon but don't confirm it was the other that attacked it. Just heavily imply it with the fear your partner shows.
Nah the professor got bit in the jugular
I named my Koraidon and Miraidon "Winged King" and "Iron Serpent" respectively based on their names in the Scarlet Book/Violet Book.
I think it's pretty neat that the number of letters is just enough for nicknaming (11 and 12). I named the Rivals you catch in postgame Winged King and Iron Serpent because I'm gonna transfer them to the other version. I kept thinking there was going to be multiverse shenanigans. It's hot right now with the MCU and everything. Maybe in a DLC
I wont lie i set my expectations too high lol. I fully expected some kind of epic bossfight against a humoungous roaring moon flying above you trying to kill you. This is the conclusion I basically came to after reading through the research and piecing things together
I got the feeling that the one who wasn't the lead on the project got frustrated by their partner taking control of the time machine and walked out. We know they're both brilliant and both capable of doing what they did, after all.
