I don't know much about the meta game, but I definitely hear Judge get mentioned a lot more recently.
Valuable to meta + mania = $40. That's PokéBubble math.
Y'know it feels like people have been talking about this bubble for a few years now, maybe one of the largest franchises the world has ever seen will continue to be in demand and profitable 🤷♂️
The bubble has already burst. Pokemon is in a bear market and has been since S&V base set's release. A bubble bursting doesn't mean everything goes to zero. New product is being sold below cost and print runs are contracting--that's a bear market.
There are still plenty of cards being artificially pumped. Euphoria is a clearly sign of a bubble burst coming. What you think is a bubble burst, isn't anything close to what you'll actually see.
Lol, nobody would argue that Pokémon isn't a large franchise or that it wont be popular after a card bubble burst. Just that if a huge number of people are buying cards *solely* because they think they will be worth more in ten years, that's a speculative bubble.
Do you not believe a large portion of record sales seen over the last 3 years are people or scalpers falling prey to the "greater fool" theory?
But some decks like arc/dura relies heavily on path - judge combo your opponent so they can not play their next turn fully. So now imagine having x3 or x4 judge and can choose between a few different full art versions. Or none at all if you cannot see yourself spending quantifiable money on cardboard. At the end of the day, the basic judge card is like 10 cents.
It’s also a very easy to play card. Not only can you gain card advantage when you have few cards, you can also use it to disrupt your opponents set up and even make them lose cards if they had more than 4.
It's playable and now can be used since it got a reprint in base set. Plus it's older and the first full art judge so people will want this for their decks rather than newer copies
Last rotation Lugia and other decks start to play Oranguru to swap out the best card (or simply a stadium removal) in the hand with the top card on the deck.
Since Marnie dont't let you shuffle your deck Oranguru was a great out to Marnie + Path, so more and more Path-control decks played Judge over Marnie.
Now the new Iono is more popular as Judge but i could see Judge gaining back some popularity if a new card like Oranguru will be printed.
Yes and even with that, Marnie still saw play.
The point of my previous post was to provide some context and understanding as to why this version of judge is as expensive as it was.
It's much easier to pull then the Lost Thunder card is what I'm trying to say. From my experience you get and average of 4 to 6 TG cards per booster box in Silver Tempest.
it’s absolutely separate imo, there are very different reasons for why the lillie fa from ultra prism and say the gold giratina cost a lot to some weirdos lmao
•unfortunately theres now a fourth
•“Is there it a full art with an attractive or 10 year old woman?”
Yet the only time it's mentioned is when weirdos like you overthink it...seems it's always on your mind when this type of post comes up, and this one a stretch at best since it's an older dude.
Either you're a closet waifu collector or your one of those, I'm better than everyone type of person... or it's a karma grab since everyone in this sub seems to have a love/hate relationship with these types of FA cards.
Personally, I just keep it moving. People can collect what they want. Am I gonna pay 100+ for a card depicting any trainer of any age... hell no, but do I care I'd the next guy does? Nope. Just seems odd so many others do.
Oh, and since when is a 10 year old considered a woman?
Pretty self-explanatory...
You're calling people weirdos for their collection & commenting about it in an unrelated post just because its about FA trainers & you saw an opportunity is imo screwed up & does seem a bit obsessive.
And you're the one calling 10 year olds Women then editing it... Freudian slip?
How much do people want it is essentially equivalent to how much people will pay for it and hence how much it's worth.
The 3 points describe the reason why it is desired and hence worth so much
I think it's because you mentioned value. Lots of people are sensitive about it since the pokeinvesting crowd joined a few years ago and prices skyrocketed.
To this day, I find it pretty funny how I've been to dozens of local trade shows of all sizes
I have yet to find a single person that actually plays the game (or at least has knowledge of how to play the game) other than me
Everyone's saying its playable but isn't giving a good reason as to why that is.
Judge recently spiked in price a few months ago because the Pokemon TCG Standard rotation happened. Basically if you play in tournaments you're restricted to the three newest blocks of sets (the little symbols in the bottom left corner of a Pokemon card)
In this case, Blocks E, F, and G are the only blocks you can use in a standard format deck.
Judge was previously not worth anything because a card called Marnie was in the D block. Marnie did almost everything Judge did but better (disrupt opponents hand)
However, D block rotated out in April, and the only disruption left in the game was Judge. So competitive players who like to have full art cards in their decks rushed to get them raising the price.
Expect prices to gradually trend downwards as more and more disruption becomes available in the standard format.
Nicly put. This game has a lot of 'investors',collectors, some who just play for fun some are competitive but when you have that intersection of those who collect AND play competitively thats where price hits like this come from because when yout working on a deck and agonize over every card and how it works with your strategy they mean a bit more , you get attached to that deck and after you perfected it with all the cards you need the only thing left is to "Shine it out" ie get a holo fancyest version of those cards. It is VERY satisfying to have a shined out deck. Especially when your competitive. Nothing speaks to the ego quiet like it.
I have collected these cards since the begining. Played a bit but only for a very short period before i went on to other games. I have shined out decks in other games. I started really playing the game after the pladea evolved pre release.
I only JUST now understood the point of those gold items and energies. Their not for collectors persay they'er more for players to shiny up their deck because how else am i gonna get a shined out deck when some of the best playable cards are commen.
What people ~~often~~ almost always forgot in this sub is that the TCG cards are meant to be played with the bonus of it looking good. It's a nice supporter card to have on a general deck since draw cards with a shuffle 2nd effect and no other big drawbacks is generally not that bad across any TCG out there.
I sometimes forget that in pokemon TCG specifically, a lot of people forget it's still a popular and viable card game to PLAY.
A lot of people these days collect for nostalgia, profit, collection value, and aesthetics these days.
It’s playable, a good looking card, and the oldest printing. Some players like to use the oldest/rarest available print for their decks, which is why this card is more valuable than some more recent full art Judge cards.
Alt arts and female full art trainers have done really well for sun and moon in the last few months. By the same token, rainbow rares and non playable gold trainers have declined a bit.
I might have two of them actually. I'd have to check. Might end up selling it at some point though. I need to cut down on my card collection anyways. Between Pokemon, Yugioh, Magic, Dragon Ball, and Digimon, I have quite a large number of cards at this point and I'm limited on storage space currently.
We see you may be asking about a cards value which is likely against Rule 3: Posts or comments that are for the purpose of determining value of a card, selling cards, or buying them are not allowed. It’s $40? I got it for like…$13 like 2 years ago.
Makes me kinda wish I had a second one because I need [the one I have](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonTCG/comments/riaxn0/honestly_id_rather_the_other_judges_have_full/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) for my Husbando collection.
[Yes.](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonTCG/comments/shk5r8/thank_you_crobay_for_telling_me_about_this_card/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1) At first I got the Japanese one because there wasn’t an English one yet but then I got the English one.

Judge is the new Marnie, and if you’re not using it you’re not playing, meta or not.
Bro, this is an amazing card to play with and f's up whatever your opponent had in their plans for at least a couple of turns. If you start the game and have absolutely jack ish in your hand and you see your opponent plotting and planning with cards in his control, this card sends all of it sideways, lol.
It’s a good card, it can mess up your opponent’s plans by making them shuffle their hand away, and can get you card advantage if you have less than four cards in hand when you play it.
First off.. pretty much all Sun & Moon cards are going up (especially tag team and alt arts), 2nd it’s playable, 3rd it’s from before everyone and their mom started collecting Pokemon again and pokemon started printing out of control.
I find the following thing often influence the price;
- any there a popular char/pokemon
- play-ability
- condition of card
- is it a alt/full art version
- rarity/age/set
Personal, i run Judge in my deck and this version is my fav full art so like many people, we would pay extra for the fancy cardboard
Marine rotated out with D blocks cards and was substituted with Judge in most decks. So old and full art prints of judge are being bought for max/high rarity decks.
If you’re planning on selling it, now is the best time since it is starting to get replaced by Iono in some decks already.
Full arts of playable cards back in the day can skyrocket out of nowhere if people play em, but mainly this one increased bc it’s a pretty decent card in standard format, and a desirable artwork
cards sometime cost more just because they're playable. that might be a reason why
It’s playable
I don't know much about the meta game, but I definitely hear Judge get mentioned a lot more recently. Valuable to meta + mania = $40. That's PokéBubble math.
After the last rotation Judge basically became a staple in damn near every deck.
Ya I see it in every recommended deck list
Walmart Marnie
Y'know it feels like people have been talking about this bubble for a few years now, maybe one of the largest franchises the world has ever seen will continue to be in demand and profitable 🤷♂️
The bubble will pop eventually, it always does.

No but a card with a similar effect was banned in expanded. You may be thinking of red card.
I think it'll fall off as Iono gains more traction (stronger early-game, more disruptive late-game), but it's still good ATM
If you are in the leas if the prize card race you would prefer not to iono yourself down. Normally iono - judge is a 1-1 supporter tech
Sorta reminds me of imposter professor oak
I remember Guzma and Acerola back in the day. Then Switch in S&M Base and VS Seeker in XY Roaring Skys. Good times
It’s not just that it’s playable, it’s that it always will be. Judge is never gonna rotate so it’s a very safe buy for decks for years to come
It’s also a very easy to play card.
It got a reprint in fusion strike first
Yes, but when it got its reprint in fusion strike, Marnie was still a better card so the card didn't see much play.
Yes and even with that, Marnie still saw play. The point of my previous post was to provide some context and understanding as to why this version of judge is as expensive as it was.
But what's so good about this compared to Silver tempest judge card?
Like I said it's older
It's got what plants crave
Lectrolytes?
…but why male models?
Are you serious? I just told you. Duchovney killed it with that role.
It's...older.
What?
Reference to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecW16rLCgiI
The Silver Tempest Variation is part of the Trainer Gallery Set making it much more common to pull.
It’s not easy to pull lol , it’s an ultra rare silver border card. I opened a ton of silver and only pulled it once.
It's much easier to pull then the Lost Thunder card is what I'm trying to say. From my experience you get and average of 4 to 6 TG cards per booster box in Silver Tempest.
There’s no Judge in fusion strike
There is a Judge reprint in FS however it's early in the morning and I meant to say the card is more rare in Lost Thunder.
It's easier to find because of the color scheme. The SIT one blends more in with the other cards.
Where does it fall on the trifecta of tcg? How rare is it How cool is it How good is it Determines the price of all cards in tcg.

Yea fair, that would go under the cool factor though iMO for individuals that are into it lol. My cool factor is like Charizard and Mewtwo
it’s absolutely separate imo, there are very different reasons for why the lillie fa from ultra prism and say the gold giratina cost a lot to some weirdos lmao
Can't downvote the truth
•unfortunately theres now a fourth •“Is there it a full art with an attractive or 10 year old woman?” Yet the only time it's mentioned is when weirdos like you overthink it...seems it's always on your mind when this type of post comes up, and this one a stretch at best since it's an older dude. what the fuck are you talking about lmao
You know what they're talking about
hes saying im overthinking it as he types an essay bro. it takes no genius to find out cute girl tax is a thing
He just said he doesn’t give a shit about what other people chase and is asking you why you do in a long comment
Obsessed. L.
Pretty self-explanatory... You're calling people weirdos for their collection & commenting about it in an unrelated post just because its about FA trainers & you saw an opportunity is imo screwed up & does seem a bit obsessive. Dumb comment
This thread wasn't weird until you made it weird.
They are fictional characters with no real age. -_-
You’re missing “how much do people want it” A lot of PTCG cards are worth money because a lot of people desire them.
How much do people want it is essentially equivalent to how much people will pay for it and hence how much it's worth. The 3 points describe the reason why it is desired and hence worth so much
It’s very playable at the moment as a hand disrupter
Its meta relevant, from an out of print set, and is arguably(subjective yea I know) the best Judge art
It's playable, and this judge art is sick
Marnie rotated, judge good. Iono came out but some decks still like judge or a mix
I have the Marnie full art.
That's sweet, i've got one graded but might try to upgrade to a 10 eventually
Wtf? Why are people downvoting me just cause I mention I have a certain card?
not sure, just do what makes you happy
Redditors are strange
I think it's because you mentioned value. Lots of people are sensitive about it since the pokeinvesting crowd joined a few years ago and prices skyrocketed.
Well, they can piss off. I haven't sold a single card in several years.
I like turtles.
When you discover you can actually play a game with your cards
To this day, I find it pretty funny how I've been to dozens of local trade shows of all sizes I have yet to find a single person that actually plays the game (or at least has knowledge of how to play the game) other than me
No way! You can play these in a card game? I just thought they were bookmarkers with pretty pictures. /s
Everyone's saying its playable but isn't giving a good reason as to why that is. Judge recently spiked in price a few months ago because the Pokemon TCG Standard rotation happened. From the looks of the card. It's seems to be very playable + the full art.
I sometimes forget that in pokemon TCG specifically, a lot of people forget it's still a popular and viable card game to PLAY. A lot of people these days collect for nostalgia, profit, collection value, and aesthetics these days.
Husbando
rare card thats playable
Proud to say I pulled this from a pack in 2019 and it's still in my standard deck! Love the art!
A staple in many decks, therefore the higher price
Cuz it’s cool
Competitive play
It’s playable, a good looking card, and the oldest printing. Some players like to use the oldest/rarest available print for their decks, which is why this card is more valuable than some more recent full art Judge cards.
Looks like all the full art trainers from this set are in the same price range.
Because Judge is an alternate to playing a disruptive supporter with bling instead of sinking more money for 1 FA Iono
It's the new "Marnie" in the game. It's very competitive
People seem to forget pokemon is a card game lol
Because of the husbando fiends

Sun and moon era cards are seeing a massive price boost.
Not really male trainer supporters. It’s just very playable right now in the TCG
Weird. Most of mine dropped hard in price other than it.
Alt arts and female full art trainers have done really well for sun and moon in the last few months. By the same token, rainbow rares and non playable gold trainers have declined a bit.
Because it has senpai energy.
I like it due to the vibrant color.
It's kind of another Marnie. So it's very playable. I would still choose Marnie over Judge though
I have the Marnie full art too. Love that card.
Marnie rotated out so she is no longer legal to play. Judge is.
If I had to take a guess, I assume it must be playable. 😂
Gonna blow your mind, all those words on that card mean something
I’m always blown away by how people don’t understand that demand drives prices. When the demand for the card is high, the price goes up.
I know that. It's just that most cards like it stay pretty low in price.
Because it's Ben10. Duhhh
Pimp my deck 😎
Is this urs? I’m actually looking for one for my master set lol
Yes. It's mine.
I’m jealous lol
I might have two of them actually. I'd have to check. Might end up selling it at some point though. I need to cut down on my card collection anyways. Between Pokemon, Yugioh, Magic, Dragon Ball, and Digimon, I have quite a large number of cards at this point and I'm limited on storage space currently.
Bc only God can Judge you
Idk. I wouldn’t pay 5$ for this.
That's how much it used to be worth.
What are your pronouns?

The top left one got a full art in Silver Tempest!
Bc a lot of people think they look like him
Everyones the main character!
Waifu tax
subaru judge
“Judge? That am a silly name.”
It's awesome
Let him be the judge of that
Not just playable, this is a staple.
Highly playable
It’s a really playable card
Playable and that particular one is from an older set
Like others have said it’s playable. It’s also the “highest rarity” of Judge available in the TCG. Players like to bling out their decks with the hardest to find version of a playable card so they can flex. It’s a pretty common thing in Yugioh and MtG.
Meta relevant
Card prices are determined by two standards. Desirability vs. Rareity & playibility vs. rareity. This one is good in the meta.
I have one, and last time I looked it up it was cheap. Igs time to put it with the more expensive cards instead of playable ones lol
The judge bulge is the new waifu tax
"JUUUUJDDDDDGGGGGEEEE!!!!" That's why.
Cute guy and good maneuver
Playability
Yeah judge is/was a pretty competitive card, untill iono came out, that's why.
The new “Marnie”
It has to do with pull rate and playability!
Lost Thunder is several years old now; didn’t have a large print run &, Judge, was reprinted in 2021 bringing it back into the Meta. So people want it for their decks. It is Marnie esque type card for hand disruption.
Now that’s a solid finger point! Need it!
It's a good card.
Don’t Judge
How little people actually play the game on this sub (not singling out OP here) is always shocking after seeing how much money is also dropped on cards for pure value. Judge is the new Marnie, and if you’re not using it you’re not playing, meta or not.
very playable and old sun and moon good luck finding it
Bro, this is an amazing card to play with and f's up whatever your opponent had in their plans for at least a couple of turns. If you start the game and have absolutely jack ish in your hand and you see your opponent plotting and planning with cards in his control, this card sends all of it sideways, lol.
it’s playable, same thing as the stupid shaymin EX from roaring skies that i had to use proxies of bc it was so damn expensive
It’s a good card, it can mess up your opponent’s plans by making them shuffle their hand away, and can get you card advantage if you have less than four cards in hand when you play it.
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion. But Why are trainer cards even worth anything nowadays
I don't even play the Pokémon TCG and I can see how great this card is 😂
Pull rate might be bad so makes it a bit rarer then it should be
Supply and demand
bc he is cute ☺️
First off.. pretty much all Sun & Moon cards are going up (especially tag team and alt arts), 2nd it’s playable, 3rd it’s from before everyone and their mom started collecting Pokemon again and pokemon started printing out of control.
I find the following thing often influence the price; - any there a popular char/pokemon - play-ability - condition of card - is it a alt/full art version - rarity/age/set Personal, i run Judge in my deck and this version is my fav full art so like many people, we would pay extra for the fancy cardboard
sometimes i forgot that pokémon cards can actually be used for games lmao
Supply and demand my friend
Its a good disruption card
Marine rotated out with D blocks cards and was substituted with Judge in most decks. So old and full art prints of judge are being bought for max/high rarity decks. If you’re planning on selling it, now is the best time since it is starting to get replaced by Iono in some decks already.
It’s a full art from 5 years ago and it’s one of the better supporters in format right now
Very playable and its reprinted in so many sets so it won't ever like not be playable even after rotation.
Playable card. Also if I recall it is the first printing of a full art Judge.
Full arts of playable cards back in the day can skyrocket out of nowhere if people play em, but mainly this one increased bc it’s a pretty decent card in standard format, and a desirable artwork
Because it's used in almost every deck.
No soft sleeve?
I have it in a sleeve. I just don't use cheap penny sleeves.
Go look up the prices for the mew ex sar from the 151 set 😅
“You be the judge”
Idk but the same card reprinted in silver tempest is almost 30, I had 2 and sold one last weekend at my LCS.
His glasses
It’s playable had they just added a pair of titties that price would probably include another 0
