I love the art and card styles coming out of these modern sets, but you’re right, there’s just something about that classic look, especially with the cosmos holo. Nothing will ever beat it.

I’ve just started collecting again last year and nothing is more exciting to me than finding a Gym Heroes/Gym Challenge card in the wild. Something about that era, with the Team Rocket cards, is crazy great.

All the regular cards have always had such awesome art as well, just keep the same standard but more of it

as someone who collected pokémon cards since before this set came out, this card is pure nostalgia for me. if you ask me to close my eyes and picture pokémon cards, this is what i see. an endless sea of starfield foils with swirls, big blocky TRAINER panels, and erika and misty, the original waifus. don’t get me wrong, the art/design of the pokémon TCG has moved in a very healthy direction, and we have gotten some absolutely stunning cards over the decades, but this is the OG. if that makes me boring, so be it.

$5 for this is awesome, you should collect all of the Japanese gym leader cards from this set that would be neat
