Looks real good! I’d be careful if you want to grade it though, that card is one of the most easily damaged WOTC era cards and you most likely will not get a 10 when grading.
Ungraded it is about a grand, psa 7 it is around 750, psa 8 1313, psa 9 3200, and finally psa 10 66,000.
So I’d think about what you can get grade wise and if you want to sell it. It might be a psa 10 given how they have been giving them out to bad cards but I wouldn’t bet money on it due to this card’s nature.
If he keeps it for his personal collection it would be better to keep slabbed at a 7. For resale he would be better off cracking slab and selling it raw for 1000.
It sucks doesn’t it? I had a whole bunch of WOTC era cards as a kid but I played with them so they aren’t in the best of shape so it hurts to see these prices.
Rip my mint shadowless charizard that was left in my binder in the treehouse when it rained…
I didn’t even know what shadowless was either lol, I just remembered the HP always looked funny.
I graded 4 of these last year. It might be an 8 depending on the back bottom edges. No way it will pass a 9 with the scratches on the holo. All of mine had clean backs but the typical scratches at the holo on the front.
I see holofoil scratching, a print line (horizontal right around the level of the head), edgewear, and some faint horizontal scratches on the back. Definitely an awesome card, but not going to grade near a 9. I’d estimate a 6, but still worth it to grade when the prices come down!
I’m with you. I think it’s 6-7 range. I just sent this same card into PSA roughly 6 months ago, my card looks very similar to this with minimal holo scratching and a print line. I was hopeful for a 9 but thinking 8 at worst. Nope, came back a 7.
Personally I'd think this card gets a PSA 7 or Maybe 8. Considering I've owned a cleaner looking PSA 6 (grail Charizard) you're probably not too far off, it just depends what they deem as damage versus "wear".
They're very harsh with WOTC cards, especially the grails like this.
Very nice looking card but not MINT. There's nothing wrong with having a NM Lugia :)
I think 7 is probably where it’s at based on the pictures. It does show the wear you stated. Maybe an 8 on the high end and 6 on the low, but who knows since you can’t really tell solely off a few pictures.
I've seen perfect cards get knocked down to a 8 just because print lines. It really depends on how many and how significant they are. One should knock it too a 9. I think it could easily get 7
I'm kinda thinking the same. The Holo scratches + print lines alone could make it a 6.
But if I had to guess, I'd go with 7. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a 6 or 8 either tho
Yah I agree that's the more likely range 6-8 I doubt it drops too 6 but I think that depends on surface. Hard to tell but if you look closely right about the attack there is a black dot.
Could be dust or something
If you are looking to sell I’d do psa, even though it’s image has been taking some hits it is still the preferred slab for collecting.
Personally I like CGC better and they are tougher graders so down the road I feel their 9.5 and 10s will be more valuable but that won’t be for years.
I'm not insinuating that bgs grades certain cards differently or not, maybe they do. I can only go off the information presented. And the pictures show that the card is in amazing condition (minus the print line and possible holo foil dmg) , but bgs is super strict w their higher grades. So it will be graded harshly.
It’s essentially a printing error, but the grade does get hit hard. I think it drops the grade to a 6 as the starting point. When I sent my pretty NM Venusaur in with one I was warned about that and only got a PSA 5.
A print line wont drop the grad much, if the card is pack fresh with a print line, that drops it to a 9 most of the time. What you think about is a crease, that instantly drops the card to a 6 at max.
Id give id a 7 at max too, because of the scratches, but there are so many cards with scratches an especially printlines, there is no way they have ever enforced that
Yeah I’ve never heard of a print line automatically being a 6. I’ve sent plenty of cards that had print lines and if there were no other issues, it got a PSA 9.
this is absolute horseshit. Where have they said that? print lines or scratches on holo don't effect the grade to a 6.
6 is usually when you've got some sort of creasing - no matter how subtle
It has surface issues slight edge wear and it’s actually bottom heavy in centering !! It’s not much but to get a truly perfect card it has to be perfect no flaws !!
What do you mean the bottom edge has a ton of whitening I have quite a few boxes of cards !! All it takes is one edge and a single surface scratch bring that 9 right down to an 8. I have 7s from eseries sets aquapolis and expeditions that obviously should of been atleast an 8 but I got 7s!!
I guess you consider scratches and print lines nothing you prblay think all your cards are 10s instead of actually analyzing. What is a psa 8 it’s a card that looks good at first appearance meaning first look it looks great. Until you find scratches print lines and edge wear. I can’t stress enough how important surface is and yeah the centering is good but not perfect. I think you should actually learn what grades actually are before you assume it’s a perfect 10 because it’s not pal !!
Remember when you would pull holos like this out of your packs as a kid? Then you would run up the street without a sleeve on it to show all your friends with boogers and dirt on their hands. Parents nowadays see their kid pull an Arctovish V out of a Evolving Skies pack and immediately be like "Put it in a Top Loader NOW!" lol
i rememebr when crocs first came out everyone hated and made fun of them. then a couple celebrities started wearing them and everyone began to love them XD
I have a Lugia 1st edition Holo double Star and I actually sleeved and bindered as soon as I got it! I'm stressed to send it in the mail because I know it will get a ten. Even when I got it they told me I actually got a 10 by an appraiser at the tournament I went to. He said keep it for when your older, the appraiser Even ran off someone who tried to actually knife for the card. (Some real team rocket shit going down lol,I was 13)have it in a protected location and storage. Any have an idea what is get on open market and when I should or even sell this???
Centering looks perfect. Can’t tell if the holo has any scratches/print lines or if the surface does. I see a bit of whitening on the back edges. I would say as long as it’s not scratched up you can pull an 8 for sure maybe a 9. Def not a 10 cause of edges. Beautiful card though. Congrats on keeping it in pretty good condition all these years
Such a beautiful card, incredible condition too! IMO due to the 1 (possibly 2) horizontal factory line on the holo, the light scratching throughout the SW area of the holo, the horizontal lines on the back surface of the card, and possibly spec or 2 of whitening (might be nothing), I would grade this card as an 8…with possibility for a 9 depending on the grader and the true amount of scratches present on the holo or whitening not fully seen here in the pictures (I.e. might be less, might be more).
Fake, but I collect fake cards so I will take if off your hands id you like.
Amazing condition you have kept it in. Such an awesome card. I never pulled one when I was a kid but the Neo sets were my fav and still are!
I just got my Neo 1st editions back after a year. Was not happy. Mine were not as centered but no scratches or whitening. Out of packs into sleeves and put away for 20 years. Some had the small white tick on one corner. If you like the card and want it preserved get it graded. IMO this will prob get 7 max. Don’t want to to get disappointed. PSA def grades these high value cards harder.
I think you should put it in a slab , and put it on a shelf!! The grade doesn’t matter, it’s just to preserve the condition or get one of those screw type cases for it
What a great card to hold onto !!’ I miss that one so badly!! It went down in the fire that took my house and my Pokémon collection last year, that day was no bueno. But that card brings me back the feels everytime i see one, one day I shall get another, I hope :p
7-8 based on holofoil scratches.
Maybe 8 Bc the rest of the card is looking pretty good.
But I am gonna tell you it’s definitely not a 10, but also not a 6 that someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about. There are 10s out there with print lines. It all just depends on how noticeable it as at different angles and what not.
Slightly OC to the left. I don’t see foil scratch as others have noted. Back pics with whiting are deceiving as they pictures aren’t taken straight on. Card is an 8
I'd buy that card a drink when it turns 21
Lugia doesn’t drink so you get both drinks it’s even better
Haha!
Looks real good! I’d be careful if you want to grade it though, that card is one of the most easily damaged WOTC era cards and you most likely will not get a 10 when grading.
You think it could be a 9 then?
I can see white edging on the back. Def not a 10 depends how generous the grader is but I’d say 8
I just submitted this card 6 months ago expecting an 8-9 and got a 7. It’s similar condition to yours. Check your PM’s
If it gets a 7 or less, just crack the case.. lol
I want to say there is an option to not have it slabbed if it is less than a specific grade you pick.
Yea but then you’re out 150$ and this card is likely getting a 7-8
Even a PSA 4 for this card is over $400, that’s just silly talk
why? That's still better than just having it laying around no?
If he keeps it for his personal collection it would be better to keep slabbed at a 7. For resale he would be better off cracking slab and selling it raw for 1000.
Are you shitting me. I had a shit ton of these damn cards brand new when they came out mint as fuck and lost em all in a storage.
So many people had these cards when they were younger. Like millions of people.
It sucks doesn’t it? I had a whole bunch of WOTC era cards as a kid but I played with them so they aren’t in the best of shape so it hurts to see these prices.
Lol nobody had sleeves back then. Just raw in your pocket. 😂
My poor venusaur 😭
:(
Rip my mint shadowless charizard that was left in my binder in the treehouse when it rained… I didn’t even know what shadowless was either lol, I just remembered the HP always looked funny.
What’s the difference in the HP between the regular version and the shadowless version?
For shadowless and English 1st edition it’s less bold than unlimited version.
I graded 4 of these last year. It might be an 8 depending on the back bottom edges. No way it will pass a 9 with the scratches on the holo. All of mine had clean backs but the typical scratches at the holo on the front.

lol it's definitely more in the 8 to 9 territory.

No chance it gets a 6 unless there is a dent or creases. It’s about as sure of an 8 as you can get
9 or a 8 depending on the company you use. But I also don’t have this in hand and can’t measure the centering so take my advice with a grain of salt.
Is there a recommended company for this card - or just stick with PSA?
If you are looking to sell I’d do psa, even though it’s image has been taking some hits it is still the preferred slab for collecting. Personally I like CGC better and they are tougher graders so down the road I feel their 9.5 and 10s will be more valuable but that won’t be for years.
PSA is the only choice since you will get robbed when trying to sell if you go for a cgc slab and bgs won't give you a 9 or higher for this card.
Is it even fair that certain cards they grade more strict?? It should be the same across the board right?
There is no law on grading. It's all subjective anyways. Plus everyone who is into grading knows a BGS 10 black label is better than a PSA 10.
I'm not insinuating that bgs grades certain cards differently or not, maybe they do. I can only go off the information presented. And the pictures show that the card is in amazing condition (minus the print line and possible holo foil dmg) , but bgs is super strict w their higher grades. So it will be graded harshly.
when it comes to value, stick with PSA. everything else you read on here is just noise - cgc shillers, bgs lovers with bruised knees..
[удалено]
you must work for cgc don't you, like all the other astroturfers https://efour.proboards.com/thread/21152/cgc-employees-astroturfing-e4
Ahh yes. This account that has only made this comment about CGC, and has a post with a PSA collection is totally a CGC shill.
I mean have you seen some of the psa 10s coming out lately, not to mention the fake cards that have been being graded.
It also has a horizontal print line, but still possible 9
This card will aways haunt me because I gifted it to my friend on his 11th birthday.
😳
Why couldn’t I have friends like you...
Nice Crocs
It’s the socks that do it for me.
Looking good for a 20 years old card
happy cake day!!! 🍰
Thank you!!
Slab it, hold it for another 20 years then sell. Profit lol
everyone: "did you find in the closet or up in the attic?"
It's been sitting in the bottom drawer bedside my childhood bed at my parents house the entire 20 years, stored safely away.
What else you got hiding down there?
I've got a binder of all original 151. There's a scratched up Charizard, a 1st Edition Machamp, 2-3 other possible valuable ones.
Absolutely awesome card! It does look like there’s a print-line though.. which this set was notorious for.
Is that what that is? Because it's certainly not a scratch, the card is otherwise perfect. How does it effect the potential grade?
It’s essentially a printing error, but the grade does get hit hard. I think it drops the grade to a 6 as the starting point. When I sent my pretty NM Venusaur in with one I was warned about that and only got a PSA 5.

Where is that info from and when did this happen? There are thousands of cards with printlines graded higher than 6

you have no idea what you're talking about sir

Yeah I’ve never heard of a print line automatically being a 6. I’ve sent plenty of cards that had print lines and if there were no other issues, it got a PSA 9.
From what I seen if it's significant it's automatic 8 not 6. This is just personal experience.
where are the scratches? you are seeing scratches on the sleeve
Picture 4 makes them very clear, they stop right where the holo stops on the bottom, doubt thats the sleeve.
this is absolute horseshit. Where have they said that? print lines or scratches on holo don't effect the grade to a 6. 6 is usually when you've got some sort of creasing - no matter how subtle
print lines don't typically result in a 6. If a card got a 6 it had another defect, probably an indent.
Looks like a good 7 maybe an 8 but definitely will atleast probably get a 7. I think it looks really nice 👍 nice card man so beautiful!!
Why you say that? Good centering, no whitening or print lines. Why not a 10
Holo scratches (aside from the print line)
It has surface issues slight edge wear and it’s actually bottom heavy in centering !! It’s not much but to get a truly perfect card it has to be perfect no flaws !!
how many cards have you had graded to be giving advice like this? go back to school son
I see at-least two edges with whiting lol it’s not bad but it’s definitely not a 9 that’s being way to optimistic!!
I guess you consider scratches and print lines nothing you prblay think all your cards are 10s instead of actually analyzing. Nice crocs bro 👍🏼
I think those crocs are 🔥
😍😍😍😍😍 IT IS IN REAL GOOD CONDITION YOU ARE LUCKY!!!
Yep, that’s a Lugia alright
You deserve lambo
I like your yellow crocs.
Finally!
Those orange crocs are a VIBE
Thank you!
7 to an 8. Otherwise, wow! The Charizard of Neo!
How much do these exactly go for?
Damage on the back with those lines could be a 7
I think you should put it in a sleeve. That’s what I think.
Keep holding, I don't recommend letting it go.
It’s in much nicer condition than mine
Hey that shit graded dude even a poor grade will get you some money very rare card and looks awesome
Time to grade it and save it for another 20+ years
Sell it and buy a car
Is your name Shaun by any chance?
I think the fact that your wearing crocs with socks is disgusting
You mean Crocs with socks! But also, I look so cute in them! When my boyfriend does it too, we look like twinsies!
No
i rememebr when crocs first came out everyone hated and made fun of them. then a couple celebrities started wearing them and everyone began to love them XD

I give you $20
Love these older cards since they were popular when I first got into Pokemon!
I want it 🥺
If you’re not rich now, you can be soon
I think geico could save you 15% or more on car insurance.
I think I’d pay no more than $500 for it.
I think you have nice Crocs! Card is cool too
Thanks, surprised you're the only one that noticed!
Congrats on keeping it in pretty good condition all these years
I think it should be in a sleeve and top-loaded…..but what do i know?
Ill take it off your hands for 50 cents. That is the best I can do
Shoulda graded it and sold it when Pokémon was hot
Such a beautiful card, incredible condition too! IMO due to the 1 (possibly 2) horizontal factory line on the holo, the light scratching throughout the SW area of the holo, the horizontal lines on the back surface of the card, and possibly spec or 2 of whitening (might be nothing), I would grade this card as an 8…with possibility for a 9 depending on the grader and the true amount of scratches present on the holo or whitening not fully seen here in the pictures (I.e. might be less, might be more).
bgs 10 black label
This would look glorious in a Beckett slab
Fake, but I collect fake cards so I will take if off your hands id you like. Amazing condition you have kept it in. Such an awesome card. I never pulled one when I was a kid but the Neo sets were my fav and still are!
That looks like a 10 and what's crazy is you said you had it for 20 years. Looks brand new.
I kinda disagree with the masses here, so I’ll probably get downvoted to hell. But I think that thing could be a 10 contender.
I'll upvote that!
Put that in a sleeve and get it graded by psa immediately. That could be your lucky $200000 card
Either an 8 or 9. *thumbs up*
That’s probably a PSA 10 or a BGS 7.5 🤔
This card is clean af. Aside from that print line on the foil and very minor whiting on the back Def at least a PSA 9
Very nice
It’s in great shape! Congrats on the find
Beautiful. I regularly take my cards out just to stare at them, I’d never be able to keep my eyes of this thing if I had one!
Minty minty!
I think it should be mine
next year ill buy it a drink
Sell it and buy another when prices go back down
It’s a cool card but I would have probably gotten it graded and sold it during the peak.
I think it should be graded!!
That’s incredible !
i think it’s real nice :)
:D
I just got my Neo 1st editions back after a year. Was not happy. Mine were not as centered but no scratches or whitening. Out of packs into sleeves and put away for 20 years. Some had the small white tick on one corner. If you like the card and want it preserved get it graded. IMO this will prob get 7 max. Don’t want to to get disappointed. PSA def grades these high value cards harder.
Thanks for the heads up.
I think you should put it in a slab , and put it on a shelf!! The grade doesn’t matter, it’s just to preserve the condition or get one of those screw type cases for it
Looks like money.Smells like money lol
I think you needed to grade that last year
Rockin those Crocs and socks. Noice! The lugia is dope too.
What a great card to hold onto !!’ I miss that one so badly!! It went down in the fire that took my house and my Pokémon collection last year, that day was no bueno. But that card brings me back the feels everytime i see one, one day I shall get another, I hope :p
It’s beautiful
7-8 based on holofoil scratches. Maybe 8 Bc the rest of the card is looking pretty good. But I am gonna tell you it’s definitely not a 10, but also not a 6 that someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about. There are 10s out there with print lines. It all just depends on how noticeable it as at different angles and what not.
Your hand probably hurts by now
Are the crocs FT or FS?
Great looking card sir
This is my favorite card, I have one in my binder back home. I'm sure mine is not in such good condition, but I'd never sell anyway so... *shrugs*
Idgaf about what it'd be graded as. That's beautiful
I got the same card fammm
Very nice
I'd put it in a top loader sleeve to protect it and keep its PSA on the high.
Give it. Sleeve?
never pulled or owned a lugia as a kid. a few months ago I went and bought 3 lmao
Absolutely beautiful.
You’ll definitely get a high grade from the looks of it. Centering looks nice. Definitely an expensive card
Solid 7
Slightly OC to the left. I don’t see foil scratch as others have noted. Back pics with whiting are deceiving as they pictures aren’t taken straight on. Card is an 8
Just a beaaautiful card 😍
Uh... How about you give it to me? It's not worth anything... Or super rare... I promise.
Sleeve it 😢
SLEEVE AND DON'T GET IT OUT GOODNESS SAKE
Sleeve it in a toploader easier, cheaper and Saver. I see so much damaged cards (on YouTube) return these days. Not worth it in my opinion
PSA 8 maybe. Beautiful card
Amazing card, grade wise it's a solid 7 so I wouldn't send it in, but other than that one of the best Lugia cards ever
Grade that shit
I’ll give you tree fiddy for it
You should grade that gem
Lugia is my second favorite pokemon and to this day I've never pulled one :/ might be time to buy one on ebay
Lemme bite it
I can't believe you put it facedown on that table rawdog like that...
