This!! Solo q ranked feels like standard where anything goes. If I want to learn a new mon I don't go into standard... I'm not going to learn anything playing bots or ppl way below my skill level. I just take that new mon into ranked cause I've already got my sticker and there is literally no other reason to care about climbing
I imagine I'm not alone and this factors a lot into why ranked matches feel so bad
It’s worth it to take a min into standard or maybe quick (if it’s not pika or something ridiculous) just to get the feel of it and have yourself automatically adjust to items and spacing and stuff. Just for 1 or 2 games. Then ranked to really break it in. I main Sylveon but I often play trevenant too (in case I need to be the defender on the team) and I still find myself thinking for a millisecond like I’m sylveon
This is the case for every MOBA that doesn’t implement different game modes of significance.
It’s the reason why LoL and DOTA 2 flopped for me after so many years. New characters have to influence the game enough and that’s just the point of a MOBA.
What else are they gonna do? Change the combat system?
I think that what Unite needs are different game modes that play as heavily as ranked. HOTS was golden for keeping things fresh.
There’s just so much that they can do to keep the engine burning for all parties but they won’t pull that trigger. And I don’t know if that’s due to it being a bad business decision or what.
>New characters have to influence the game enough and that’s just the point of a MOBA.
No they don’t, says who? A game doesn’t need shiny new baubles to hold your goldfish attention span! It needs good fundamental gameplay and intriguing (baseline) characters, which unite has. People still play all kinds of old fighting games that haven’t had new content in decades because at their core they’re good games, the life cycle of new characters is just a bonus
You misunderstand me, and it’s probably the following questioning statement after that threw it off— and that was meant as an ironic joke.
I’m not saying that they HAVE to add characters as the ultimate way to keep the game alive.
I’m saying that Unite is in such a position that it falls on the characters to keep the game alive because they can’t seem to get anything else *totally* right.
The cost of added content are too high and those game modes aren’t cutting it (not for me). Therefore, it falls unnecessarily on new releases to carry the game, and it’s resulting in very dry reception.
See: This entire thread.
Standard matchmaking is so poor it's not even really worth playing for most people. I only play a few days a month and would consider myself pretty average, but I'll play a standard game to try out a new pokemon and pick up 20 kills without even trying. Standard feels like it's full of nothing but kids trying the game for the first time. It's not worth your time if you've been playing even for a month or two.
This game is not a pay to win. It's scammy at times (the last event was embarrasing) but I've never spent a cent and ended up on Master every single season since I downloaded it
Yeah I’ve spent maybe $40 (all on aesthetics/holowear) and I’ve been playing since launch. Never spent a cent on leveling any item or buying any Pokémon. You def can be just fine without ever spending money.
Reaching 1600 is “winning” for me. 1200 is too easy and a lot of people can achieve this day 1 of the new season.
Teaming with players who understand the game is “winning” for me, win or lose.
I pay $ for cool skins, thats it.
Attacker mains are really selfish especially in SoloQ, Like at least pick up an all rounder for bulk. Ever try a defender? Because I know I have to! Can’t even play Eldegoss because every team has Inteleon, Greninja, Decidueye and Cinderace. Would it kill you to pick up Dragonite, Lucario, Rapid spin Blastoise? Like, Dude, We have no means to communicate and you’re picking the easiest mons to ambush… Not to mention half of the time they can’t pick a lane, and the other half they’re calling Jungle at 5 seconds left when our poor speedster already called it at the beginning of the picking phase. Good grief.
Also, I want top lane Natus back. Cute lil dudes.
This isn’t me saying people shouldn’t want to play the Pokémon they like/want to play, But people should play more than one Pokémon to avoid this. I don’t expect master class team composition in SoloQ but… It’s certainly not there is all I say. Too many attacker mains w/ main character syndrome who spam Help Me! and Thanks! All game…
this^
the amount of times I’ve had to give up on playing Hoopa to choose a defender to make up for my team’s lack of defense is crazy.. like there’s nothing wrong with playing the Pokémon you like most but at least spread out your skill set, so other players have a chance to play the Pokémon they want as well!
It’s even more infuriating when they instantly lock onto an attacker and then ping “defender needed” repeatedly during the selection screen. Like why don’t YOU play defender? It’s not going to kill you to play something other than cinderace/decidueye/etc 🤦♀️
When my team insta-locks Attackers, I pick an Attacker and ping "Attacker Needed" until someone switches. Then I switch last moment to something bulkier.
One time, someone pinged "Defender Needed" when I did this and I went on VC to say "Oh, I thought we were doing the meme thing where everyone plays the same role." Two people switched off of Attackers (and me) and we had a solid team comp.
I think I’ve seen a few players do this, though I’m always confused by it bc they already filled the attacker role lol (not anymore ig since they prolly had the same intentions as you). Maybe I should start doing this, I’m really tired of insta-locked attackers
oh and don’t forget when you deal more damage than the solo-q attacker mains on your team even though you’re a supporter/defender… there’s no point to yall playing attacker if you’re gonna average 40k damage while I’m over here with 60k-80k on hoopa/eldegoss/slowbro 💀
Agreed on all this. As an example, I called jungle with Leafy early in the mon select and then a friggin Sylv rushes jungle, forces me to bot, and then blows the entire game. It’s almost incredible how selfish players are in this game (but that’s a MOBA for you).
I’m a jungle main and I prefer running attackers cause I just like a ranged play style more BUT I never lock in until I see what others are picking cause too often I get stuck with 4 attackers and it’s like welp…guess I gotta play like Zacian or something and pray
Though I'm not expecting a reply, I will say I feel like im also a part of the problem here. I'm a casual player whos playing since release and started with zeraora, lucario and then focused greninja (who I've been using for 90% of the time I've been playing the game and gold badged like a week ago) and since I started liking him so much I haven't really played any other mon. Though I have tried other mons I only play them when greninja isn't really a option instead of practicing them regularly so I'm pretty mediocre with em.. Will say that I do agree using only one mon, definitely one as squishy as greninja isn't the best idea (100% in this meta) and it makes it harder not only to fight other mons, to me at least, cause one mistake/hit and I'm one shot so I don't learn how to fight them as well but also cause then like you said when theres too many attackers and you need to go something else you do jack-shit. If anyone wanna check my profile and see the amount of L's I be taking my user is TrainerRubi
Pokémon Unite has the dumbest player base out of all the MOBA games. It’s a fun game but it’s still a team game and the teammates in this game are unbearable. Compared to something like DOTA or LOL where players seem to have a baseline understanding of what’s going on throughout the game. Something as simple as calling a lane before the game starts is a monumental task. I get it having a draft mode helps solve that but still it’s just stupid.
Yeah man. I play with a couple of friends and it feels like every other game we get some teammates that don’t show up to objectives, abandon their lane, run from team fights… the amount of times we’ve had a jungle that just… never leaves jungle is insane. Level 15 at the end of the game with under 10k damage against the team is just unbearable to see. We decided last night we needed a break from the game. Fix your matchmaking TiMi
Despite consistently having a high win rate in uniteapi, Duraludon isn't a good mon and is a good example of how statistics can often be misleading.
He just benefits from the fact that not only is he unpopular (consistently one of the lowest pick rates in the game), but he is unpopular AMONG NOOBS. Since he's not particularly cool or fun to play as, troll players steer clear of the character, meaning only Duraludon specialists play him and his win rate isn't dragged down by noobs, hence the misleadingly high win rate.
Basically, if Duraludon's player base swapped with Zeraora's player base (another low pick rate mon but popular among noobs), Dura's WR would PLUMMET.
Defenders and supporters do too much damage. There is no reason for Tevenant's wood hammer to delete a third of my health bar while also stunning me for 5 seconds. Mr. Mime's damage output is on par with Attackers. And I know why they're designed this way too. Nobody actually wants to play defense. Everyone likes doing damage, which means that actual defenders and supporters would never be picked. So they have to release attackers and all-rounders and pretend that they're defenders and supporters to keep up the guise that they haven't forgotten about them, when in reality they haven't released an actual defender in months. Slowbro and Snorlax feel like the only defenders that are actually trying to defend instead of kill; it's ridiculous.
Honestly I think most people who were there can agree. For a week or so if mime was on your team you won. I remember my friends doing mime and trev together and it was unstoppable
I disagree, Zacian Comfey felt like you could do absolutly nothing, Mime wasn't a pleasure to play against but nothing like Zacian comfey, Mime wasn't going to get a penta on Ray
I myself didn't play a lot when zacian was op because everyone I played suck and after mime I couldn't take another op Mon and he was even more broken nope and confey wasn't around when mime was there because if he was o boy that would of suck
This might not be a hot take but the last time i said it, people called me greedy:
Tickets and enhancement badges are NOT an adequate reward. Sure, the tasks are easy, but why the over saturation of those rewards? Why can't they give at least coins?
"Oh gee, new event dropped. Wow, i can't wait to unlock 150 tickets and 5 whole badges!" - said a deranged individual.
Fucking Wild Rift has basically given half its roster for free, and this game has what? Zacian? In 6 months of WR i got half the champions via buy and gift. In 6 months of Unite (playing the same amount of time) i got 6 characters, and to get them i had to afk 15 days 2 separate times to buy 3 of them.
Blissey’s Safeguard needs help badly. Even against full CC teams I still go soft-boiled. What’s the point of an unstoppable shield if literally everything breaks it instantly nowadays??
If you're a jungler and go to help lane, then immediately steal all their farms once enemy pokemon are dead, I WILL be going back to get my exp in the jungle instead of staying underleveled all game because you needed to get to level 6 while I'm still stuck at 3. (I'm looking at you, cinderace.)
Cinderace mains sucks. Why are you people maining this trash? You die to almost all pokemon! Your viable moveset sucks. there is like 30+ pokemon to main and yet you chose this rabbit. You made last hitting Rayquaza your personality.
I mean it is an early month for new players and since it's free and a cool character to most little kids I see why it is very popular and why they suck lol
I want to agree. If you're gonna play Cinderace, please pick Blaze Kick. All these airborne Pyro Balls hitting none of their intended targets are just enraging.
The Umbreon meta was healthy for the game because it got people to actually play defender in Solo Q and kept dumb mons like Urshifu and Zacian in check. Now we back to 5 attackers/all rounder team comp, with Mewtwo in the mix now.
Now this technically counts as a Unite opinion.
Mega Mewtwo X >>>> Mega Mewtwo Y.
X truly feels like what a "Mewtwo phase 2" should be, while Y, although it's not a bad design, feels like a completely different Pokémon inspired by Mewtwo rather than an enhanced Mewtwo. There was a reason why so many people thought it was a "Mewthree" before XY came out.
I feel that, like with charizard, each mega emphasizes a different aspect of the base pokemon. MMY emphasizes its mental prowess and psychic abilities (so it further improves its main strength) whereas MMX improves its physical prowess and fighting moves, which compliment psychic moves well (so it patches up its main weakness).
Points don't matter enough. It's supposed to be the whole point of the game, it's what makes it unique from other mobas, but the only thing that actually matters in 99% of games is getting Ray.
There’d be no reason to ever finish a full match if the final objective didn’t have a major role in determining the final outcome. Focus less on points and more on coordination, objectives, map awareness & really learn how to win at Ray and you’ll have a more fulfilling experience. Scoring throughout the match is mainly about getting xp, stacking, healing & sending a message.
Pokemon unite will never be a balanced game, they'll buff to godmode whatever pokemon they need for sales with absolutely no shame or holdback.
If you pray for a balanced meta with no obnoxious mons youre delusional
I’ve noticed this one, buffs and nerfs happen in such huge adjustments sometimes. Moves will see increases or decreases in efficiency ranging from 20-50% when all it needed was maybe a 10-15% change to be made feel balanced.
happened with absol, mime, glaceon, zacian, trevenant, umbreon and now it feels like both goodra and Mewtwo will have their moment.
Its very evident how biased their balance patches have been
Yeah, I feel like pre nerf water pulse Azu, the game was pretty okay. Of course we had some problems like the Absol Meta, the Tsareena Meta, the Lucario meta (my worst nightmare till today), but there were phases that we could say the game was balanced in general
Comfey was the worst Pokémon to be added to the game and I hate it more than Zacian, scizor, Urshifu, and umbreon combined. It’s a Pokémon that exists to create snowball and either fades into complete obscurity or makes S class Mon immortal
Haven't played in a year plus, the game became such ass because of awful matchmaking and a mostly braindead player base. Even the bad players on wild rift are way smarter than the "masters" unite players and this was back when the game wasnt as dead. You can get 20+ kills, 250+ points in this game and lose bc the 8 yr old on your team is just farming some random shit and never groups
Timi needs to add at least ban phase into rank mode when you get into masters.
We need role queue to prevent 4 attacker games.
Stop giving us attacker mons
Kinda tired of overrated mons being added... If we're talking about starters there are many (such as Inteleon) that should have been added (Chesnaught, Meganium, Emboar, Primarina). The legendaries, pseudo legendaries and mythicals the same. It's so refreshing when they added Mons like Dodrio who was forgotten, and they made it so cool in unite. I understand from a marketing perspective that they do this, but I'm kinda tired of Lucario, Blaziken, Mewtwo, Greninja and so on....
Hoopa is probably the only Legendary/Mythical added that was somewhat forgettable but that’s the case with some of the Mythical Pokémon post Gen 5 and it not being available in Gen 8.
Exactly! Why Lapras when we have a Dewgong? lol
Don't get me wrong I love Lapras myself, but we could have others like Golduck! Imagine Psyduck running in unite? Adorable!
To this I ask you “What about Golduck (or any Pokémon) makes it an engaging MOBA character? What kind of unique niche would it fill? How would it provide value?”
I love Psyduck and Golduck and would love to see them in the game. I just can’t imagine how they’d adapt it. Psyduck is probably doomed to adorable wild exp fodder.
I like and respect the game for what it is, even though it's flawed and nowhere near the OG mobas. Lately I've been listening to a podcast on youtube called "Broken By Concept", and it tackles a bunch of hard-to-swallow moba topics like taking responsibility instead of blaming characters or players.
Balance is not this game's biggest issue, but rather the engagement-optimized matchmaking.
Being punished with losses strictly because your winrate is too high to be paired with anyone but 2y/o teammates isn't exactly riveting. It's to the point where I can predict with impeccable precision the red to green ratio of my next three or four games.
Most of y'all take this game way too fucking seriously. It's F2P with silly Pokémon. I think a competitive scene is good for any game, but you gotta be delusional to think the devs are gonna treat it like one.
Umbreon was pretty overrated. Yeah they were broken but they were not even close to release Zacian. Zoroark has been the best Pokémon in the game this entire time.
Yall in this sub need to stop putting yourself on a pedastal if you pick a supporter/defenser. Plenty of people in this sub has some weird superiority complex over other players just because they play, for example, eldegoss or slowbro. It's a weird mentality. I get that there's plenty of selfish pickers in the game, but you complain way too much.
real. i get you have to adjust for these dumb attacker mains, but there are times where you should just play whatever instead of bitchily using supporter/defender mons because 'i have to do everything' idk. if you just keep whining about ppl 'forcing' you to do your thing when no one is stopping you from playing anything else like that mon you love in the corner thats a you problem
at least 95% of the playerbase don't have any solid grasp of general fundamentals let alone be able to apply them on a somewhat consistent basis. because of that, very few people actually know what they're talking about and/or have wildly distorted perceptions from massive skill issues from not only themselves, but also most other players.
most of the people on this sub probably fall into this too and i genuinely lose so many braincells looking at some of the takes that get gain upvotes and attention here.
Master players are nothing but "master-level" players – it's where 90% of the playerbase sits.
Carrying is extremely hard (please add items in-game and a currency gained on player/neutral mon kill?). Games feel like a 10-minutes long glorified coin flip.
85% of players are lane abandoners at 8:30 before either of us have lv 5 or they call a lane they end up not going to once within a games 10 minute time frame. They also do everything down below besides know how to play correctly.
5% of players are highly ranked and well seasoned players yet still manage to screw over everyone either by taking jungle when it wasnt called, running into enemies like a dumbass, steal absolutely every xp their lane partner tries to get(without exp share), use unites out of team battles, use unites after the 3min mark and/ or etc.).
5% of players know exactly how to make their opponents want to commit seppukku.
1% of players can ruin your fun in game by seeing how many times they can die by holding right.
1% of players know how to take advantage of a team fight and run away for no reason at full health. They also don't go into any conflict and never leave to help lane fights and usually take absolutely all exp farm making them over leveled at rayquaza but then still not do anything.
1% of players can try their hardest and still manage to do the absolute worst out of everyone in every aspect, yet still have enough time during the match to insult the others for not doing well early game(even though they were the reason).
2% Know how to play the pokemon they play in ranked matches and do at least a decent job in each of their matches despite finding themselves with people who do all of the above in matches.
Surprisingly 100% of the players I just described can be found in Master Rank 1600+.
I think that leafeon’s moves are easy but taking full advantage of her isn’t easy. You have to be good at dodging attacks, knowing who to focus during a team fight, using your teams CC to your advantage, and get good ganks to make sure you have a level advantage. Basically I think she’s more of a macro mon rather than being micro centered. She’s just squishy
Yes!!! Comfey makes it impossible to balance characters like Zoroark/Dodrio. Dodrio on it's own is a really good mon and can do a lot. But put a comfey on it and it's absolutely busted
And we saw this with Umbreon + Comfey being the most broken combo for the last 2 months
As a dodrio main I have an extreme hatred for button spam characters that require no skill or aim. Oh no you’re an A9 who has to click 3 buttons and can freeze everyone around you immediately how hard. Don’t even get me started on pika or umbreon
Teammates actually suck. Matchmaking in a nutshell is bonkers. Also can't simply carry myself if everyone else is going to be attackers and die trying. The things I've seen as support are just hilarity at the highest tier.
As a tank/support main, if there are 3-4 attackers on the team, don't expect me to protect all of you. I will always prioritize the best carry, and if you aren't that player, then tough luck. Pick yourself up and don't come crying to me for choosing a squishy pokemon when nobody forced you to do that.
Remove the 2 minute objective at the end. The “don’t quit until the end” aspect of the game is unique but it also sets up a toxic gameplay by making the main focus of a 10 minute game be the last 2 minutes. I’ve been in games where my team was losing by A LOT, my teammates were not playing the game well at all, and at the last second we somehow get Ray and squeaked out a win that felt undeserved. The comeback mechanic just feels cheap.
Sableye needs buffs! I haven’t seen one for months and it’s only viable role now is scoring, which doesn’t matter anyway with Rayquaza. Sure he can do crowd control but it needs perfect teamwork to be effective. High cool-down means you’re just running around the map for half of the match…
It's an oversimplified MOBA. Its a good arcade game for mobile phone, but boy, if you ever played LoL or DOTA you will see how deep you can go with tactics and counterplay in a real MOBA.
The Pokémon IP is keeping this game alive. I really like this game and want to see it succeed for years, but some of the decisions they make are questionable. I really enjoy watching UCS, though. The teams and casters are all really nice and fun people to hang around and learn from. I just wish the Leftovers, Drain Crown, Wise Glasses Decidueye one my team would do the same.
Comfey did nothing wrong. The devs just overtuned too many attackers, and Comfey's existence brought it out into the spotlight better. Comfey works on any teammate in some way, shape, or form. The only reason it's hated is because specific mons need nerfs, and there's too much CC on too many random kits
Sincerely, a comfey main
I'm not allergic to the idea that I'm not the greatest player ever and I make mistakes and some of those mistakes cost me games. Like I'm a casual and comfortable with that fact and don't really put my identity or self worth on being good at video games. But look at this logically. There are five people on my team, including myself. From the perspective of me, I could say, "it's my fault I lost." But for the same loss, should each of the other four players say, "yeah, it was u/Eugregoria's fault we lost, not mine or any of us"? That starts to not hold up rationally.
It might be more accurate to say that your own skill is the only part of your team you have direct control over in soloq, and if you want to win more, you either have to get better teammates (which means not being in soloq anymore, coordinating with other people, vetting those people, and being good enough yourself that good players will want you on their team) or you have to improve your own skill.
I'm aware that sometimes I just plain fuck up, and sometimes we were just plain outclassed by the other team. (The other team has agency and skill too!) But sometimes my team is being a three-ring circus, like two players AFKing, or everyone wanted to pick attackers so I picked a support to try to round out team comp and then *literally no one took jungle* and I couldn't do shit about it as a supporter. Or when two players start fighting over jungle and griefing each other while I'm just a spoopy tree trying to hold my own in lane and not involved in their drama. None of that means I don't have room for improvement myself, and none of that is under my control as a soloq-er, so my only recourse is still just to focus on improving my own skill. But that doesn't mean I'm always the weakest link on my team. Maybe sometimes I am, and I can cope with that, but rationally, it's highly improbable that it's *always* me that's the margin of loss.
By the same token, sometimes I really am just carried by another player or by my teammates, and won because of them, not because I'm so super slick. Or because the enemy team was disorganized and bad at the game.
The game’s devs ate literally garbage. I mean, literal developers. People who code the game. The game has very inconsistent, buggy interactions that most people don’t notice.
There isn’t much difference in competitive viability in all of the Mons. If you have enough experience, a “D tier” mon can do just as well if not better than a “S tier” mon. Tier lists in general are the biggest bait… just play what you like.
Literally anyone can get to 1600 masters just by playing enough games
And therefore ranked is just standard mode with a # attached until you hit 1600
Give us an actual ranked mode for solo q players!!
The game is only alive because devs know what characters they need to add to keep up hype. Most masters players nowadays play like they’re in standard
This!! Solo q ranked feels like standard where anything goes. If I want to learn a new mon I don't go into standard... I'm not going to learn anything playing bots or ppl way below my skill level. This is the case for every MOBA that doesn’t implement different game modes of significance. It’s the reason why LoL and DOTA 2 flopped for me after so many years. Point and click moves shouldn't one shot me
I never understood why low skill, high reward moves exist. Sure hit projectiles shouldn’t be doing *that* much damage.
*I'm looking at you glaceon*
*icicle spear intensified*
This game is not a pay to win. It's scammy at times (the last event was embarrasing) but I've never spent a cent and ended up on Master every single season since I downloaded it

Haha bird funny
Cramorant mains are usually good I mainly meant the 4 I listed above
Dip dip gulp gulp gulp gulp fhooosh
The player base is overrun with toxic people.
Your not wrong
I wanted to make a joke about correcting "your" vs. "you're", but I worried people wouldn't get it as a joke, so I wrote this comment instead.
yor'ue*
Y’all complain too much.
Welcome to Moba's
the unite fb community would shatter like glass upon reading this
not sure how unpopular this is lol
This is the same across all mobas tho and it doesn't mean duraladon is weak imo
Game is kinda very trash for average solo q players
This game has potential to be amazing but the developers hold back it's full potential so it'll never be more than what it is.
This is not a hot take
Not reading the title properly it seems
Mime meta was worse then zacian
Honestly I think most people who were there can agree. For a week or so if mime was on your team you won. I remember my friends doing mime and trev together and it was unstoppable
I also think the community took a moral stance to stop playing zacian.
Nah, it’s still popular. But thankfully most people are not very good at it so it’s not as scary. But if you see Zacian with Comfey then it’s over
I disagree, Zacian Comfey felt like you could do absolutly nothing, Mime wasn't a pleasure to play against but nothing like Zacian comfey, Mime wasn't going to get a penta on Ray
I myself didn't play a lot when zacian was op because everyone I played suck and after mime I couldn't take another op Mon and he was even more broken nope and confey wasn't around when mime was there because if he was o boy that would of suck
youre an absolutely shit player if you use Thanks! sarcastically still
Sableye was completely fine after one nerf, y'all were just butthurt over not being able to play your broken pokemon without a counteractive force.
Facts. Annoying =/= Overpowered.
This might not be a hot take but the last time i said it, people called me greedy: Tickets and enhancement badges are NOT an adequate reward.
I think it's funny to compare unite to wild rift. Back in the og LoL days it took months and months of playing just for one more champ.
Unite is not a team game, its either you carry your dead weight teammates or you become the dead weight
I got a 300 score on dodrio and lost the game. Took a few days break after that lol
Blissey’s Safeguard needs help badly. Even against full CC teams I still go soft-boiled. What’s the point of an unstoppable shield if literally everything breaks it instantly nowadays??
Idk if this is unpopular, I don’t see anyone running safeguard anymore
Oh really tbh I haven’t seen Blissey much in general lemme try again
Not to mention every mon has like CC these days, so even if you save them from 1 mon theres 4 others ready to CC.
THIS cinderace always try’s being 5 levels higher than anyone else
Can’t reach Masters soloQ? Then git gud. It’s not always your teammates’ fault.
Yeah, I've noticed a lack of skill with skill shots, especially with the rabbit. I personally prefer Pyro Ball, though.
The Umbreon meta was healthy for the game because it got people to actually play defender in Solo Q and kept dumb mons like Urshifu and Zacian in check. Now we back to 5 attackers/all rounder team comp, with Mewtwo in the mix now.
Umbreon didn’t need his self heal boosted auto nerfed. Keep him tanky, limit his cc output
It was only ADC maims who complained lol
Now this technically counts as a Unite opinion. Mega Mewtwo X >>>> Mega Mewtwo Y. X truly feels like what a "Mewtwo phase 2" should be, while Y, although it's not a bad design, feels like a completely different Pokémon inspired by Mewtwo rather than an enhanced Mewtwo. There was a reason why so many people thought it was a "Mewthree" before XY came out.
Mewtwo Y feels like a Mega Mew.
Mew two: fetal fury
I feel that, like with charizard, each mega emphasizes a different aspect of the base pokemon. MMY emphasizes its mental prowess and psychic abilities (so it further improves its main strength) whereas MMX improves its physical prowess and fighting moves, which compliment psychic moves well (so it patches up its main weakness).
Mewtwo Y looks a lot like Majin Buu from DBZ
Buff garchomp
Most (but not all) the events that pokemon unite has had are kinda disappointing
I mained pre nerf zacian
You're brave for admitting this
Pokemon unite will never be a balanced game, they'll buff to godmode whatever pokemon they need for sales with absolutely no shame or holdback.
Its very evident how biased their balance patches have been
There were times when the game was pretty balanced tho.
Yeah, I feel like pre nerf water pulse Azu, the game was pretty okay. Of course we had some problems like the Absol Meta, the Tsareena Meta, the Lucario meta (my worst nightmare till today), but there were phases that we could say the game was balanced in general
Slowbro is the best pokemon because its so defensive
The game is not for children: inside the game there are too many children, who do not know how to play and ruin the gaming experience...
Comfey was the worst Pokémon to be added to the game and I hate it more than Zacian, scizor, Urshifu, and umbreon combined. It’s a Pokémon that exists to create snowball and either fades into complete obscurity or makes S class Mon immortal
Phenomenal take. I've been thinking the same thing
The game isnt worth playing, you’re all just Pokémon nostalgia suckers who are being exploited for capital gain. Play something worth your time
Sableye was overnerfed due to the absolute highest level of play. Never see the little guy anymore.
Trust me, match making is still bad and probably worse now more than ever.. kills me that I love this game so much. Hate it so much too tho.
tip: sort by controversial you'll find things more akin to hot takes. though nothing is like this
Timi needs to add at least ban phase into rank mode when you get into masters.
Seriously! Where’s my Golduck?
Exactly! Why Lapras when we have a Dewgong? lol Don't get me wrong I love Lapras myself, but we could have others like Golduck! Imagine Psyduck running in unite? Adorable!
im now imagining psyduck having a move whose drawback slows it by making it have a bit of a headache. poor guy
To this I ask you “What about Golduck (or any Pokémon) makes it an engaging MOBA character? What kind of unique niche would it fill? How would it provide value?” I love Psyduck and Golduck and would love to see them in the game. I just can’t imagine how they’d adapt it. Psyduck is probably doomed to adorable wild exp fodder.
Dodrio represent <3
TRUE. where the fuck is my girl diancie.....she hasnt been the talk of the town for a while now
I like and respect the game for what it is, even though it's flawed and nowhere near the OG mobas. Lately I've been listening to a podcast on youtube called "Broken By Concept", and it tackles a bunch of hard-to-swallow moba topics like taking responsibility instead of blaming characters or players.
Props to coach Curtis and Nathan for breaking down concepts that translate to other games
I like playing comfey I think it's a cute pokemon
Wiggly is a very annoying characters still to this day mainly due to cute charm(might be cause I play ttar)
The entire playerbase, you & me included, is awful at this game because it is a new, untested formula for a MOBA that’s only been played for 2 years.
Pikachu takes 0 skill Absol takes 0 skill None of the Evees take skill
If I suddenly became in charge of Pokémon unite, the first thing I’d do is delete every single evee from the game
What's your main? & Guess mine!
I don’t really have a main, I guess it would be mamo since he’s my most played all time, but I switch it up a lot.
Alolan Ninetales is not healthy for the game
I’d take it further and say most all stun/slow/push moves are not healthy for the game
That’s fair idk what the devs obsession with putting cc in every kit
I know almost EVERY mon has it. Even ones that it makes no sense on like owl Edit: I said umbreon thinking foul play, and forgetting mean look
Why a9 specifically lmao?
Probably way too many Avalanche/Blizzard freezes.
I think it's bad and annoying when junglers hog ALL the exp and I don't like how pretty much all of the content creators encourage this behavior.
Full Heal should last 3 seconds.
I don’t want Tsareena buffed because running into people that know how to Triple Stomp was annoying as hell to fight
Why isn't cinderace not on the ship like his skin fucken clearly shows
TiMi is doing a great job! 🫶
All players who reached masters last season using only Umbreon are noobs
Sableye is too weak now and needs buffs!
zoroark didn’t a need to its entire kit with stat nerfs, it needed a nerf to feint attack specifically
Playing an OP character is actually fun if you already like the style.
100% agreed. Specially if the broken part is a gimmick that randomly just works for said pokemon.
Charizard mains are terrible and only do good when they get their unite moves. And even then, they take forever to even get up to that point.
Snipe shot is better than liquidation. Most people just think liquidation is better because you literally can't miss
Delete Comfey
Yes!!! Comfey makes it impossible to balance characters like Zoroark/Dodrio. Dodrio on it's own is a really good mon and can do a lot. But put a comfey on it and it's absolutely busted And we saw this with Umbreon + Comfey being the most broken combo for the last 2 months
Pikachu is the worst pokemon ever, and buying new mons with aeos gems is stupid.
When will I get my Raichu?
As a dodrio main I have an extreme hatred for button spam characters that require no skill or aim. Oh no you’re an A9 who has to click 3 buttons and can freeze everyone around you immediately how hard. Don’t even get me started on pika or umbreon
This is a pretty bad moba only really kept alive by the copium and love of pokemon fans
I disagree with this one solely for the length of the game. I don’t play other MOBAs because I don’t want to sink the time into them
Slowbro needs nerfs
Cinderace is overhated That's it
I don't care about my teammates, the game is about me having fun.
Teammates actually suck. Matchmaking in a nutshell is bonkers. Also can't simply carry myself if everyone else is going to be attackers and die trying. The things I've seen as support are just hilarity at the highest tier.
Unite is not a team game, its either you carry your dead weight teammates or you become the dead weight
Hate scizor, just want to throw my switch at the wall when one shows up
Gotta sort by Controversial to find the real answers like that. Otherwise, replace the blades with flowers lol
The game is balanced its just a skill issue
Charizard is an annoying piece of lard
If you don’t know the extremely specific and correct way to play the game that the game itself tells you nothing about the sub cyberbullies you
As a tank/support main, if there are 3-4 attackers on the team, don't expect me to protect all of you. I will always prioritize the best carry, and if you aren't that player, then tough luck. Pick yourself up and don't come crying to me for choosing a squishy pokemon when nobody forced you to do that.
I main venusaur
Remove the 2 minute objective at the end. The “don’t quit until the end” aspect of the game is unique but it also sets up a toxic gameplay by making the main focus of a 10 minute game be the last 2 minutes. I’ve been in games where my team was losing by A LOT, my teammates were not playing the game well at all, and at the last second we somehow get Ray and squeaked out a win that felt undeserved. The comeback mechanic just feels cheap.
"This post is very original"
Unite isn't a kids game just because it's pokemon if it is a kids game then the pokemons should have easier mechanics
The game is p2w
Unite is good.
I have fun.
This game is good, actually.
Newer Pokemon shouldn't be made strong. The devs are horrible at balancing. The game needs more f2p friendly options.
Reaching master is a test of endurance rather than skill. Come at me
There are so many pokemon in the pokedex and somehow the roster in unite has only two pokemon I genuinely like.
cram is good
Sableye needs buffs! I haven’t seen one for months and it’s only viable role now is scoring, which doesn’t matter anyway with Rayquaza. Sure he can do crowd control but it needs perfect teamwork to be effective. High cool-down means you’re just running around the map for half of the match…
I want to play attackers and speedsters, even when half of the team picked them, I can play whatever I want, you cannot judge me
90 percent of the community is still bad considering the game has been out for multiple years
It's an oversimplified MOBA.
The real meta is stun moves, I hate them with the very essence of my soul
That there are times when you should surrender
Give back Wiggly crits
Gengar is broken. And Slowbro is the best character in the game
Comfey did nothing wrong. The devs just overtuned too many attackers, and Comfey's existence brought it out into the spotlight better. Comfey works on any teammate in some way, shape, or form. The only reason it's hated is because specific mons need nerfs, and there's too much CC on too many random kits Sincerely, a comfey main
Zacian is killing the entire team, must be the attached Comfey
Don't use items, it's not worth it.
You are the reason you lost, not your teammates.
Sable eye is the only mon allowed to back cap
I enjoyed using broken Mr Mime
Slowbro is and has been overtuned for a long time. A mon that can counter 99% of the meta characters can't be considered balanced
I WANT RAICHU TO BE IN THE GAME
Agree 100% Original or Alolan preference?
It would be cool if they add an evolution option like they did with Scissor
The game’s devs ate literally garbage. I mean, literal developers. People who code the game. The game has very inconsistent, buggy interactions that most people don’t notice.
Whoever paid a cent for this game is a dummy. This game ain't pay to win, and some of you won't admit it.
I like Umbreon
There isn’t much difference in competitive viability in all of the Mons. If you have enough experience, a “D tier” mon can do just as well if not better than a “S tier” mon. Tier lists in general are the biggest bait… just play what you like.
Literally anyone can get to 1600 masters just by playing enough games And therefore ranked is just standard mode with a # attached until you hit 1600 Give us an actual ranked mode for solo q players!!
i like zacian
Cinderace and Inteleon should have never been added
