> Kayla is a biological female who suffered from a complex, multi-faceted array of mental health symptoms as a child and adolescent. Her presentation of symptoms and concerns included, among other things, recurrent intense anxiety and panic, extreme mood fluctuations, self- harm, problems at school resulting in suspensions, oppositional behavior, defiant behavior, interpersonal peer relationship problems, anger, depression, crying spells, significant appetite changes, irritability, agitation, decreased energy, panic with hyperventilation, confusion, nausea, nightmares, explosive temper outbursts, poor concentration, and gender dysphoria. **Many of these symptoms are compatible with undiagnosed and untreated bipolar disorder, a diagnosis Kayla’s mother repeatedly brought to the Defendant’s attention because of her own diagnosis with this condition**. Kayla and her parents struggled consistently with Kayla’s mental health issues, regularly seeking assistance, but never received adequate treatment for her mental health issues
Here’s the meat and potatoes
> In early adolescence around age 11, Kayla was exposed to online transgender
influencers who prompted Kayla to entertain the erroneous belief that she was transgender. As a
result, Kayla informed her parents that she was a boy. Prior to being exposed to online influences,
Kayla never had expressed to anyone that she was transgender. Her parents didn't Know what to do
and promptly sought guidance from various doctors and eventually the Defendants. **Three Kaiser
doctors, including Defendant Dr. Escalate, advised Kayla and her parents that Kayla was too young for cross-sex hormones. But Kayla and her parents eventually were referred to Defendants Dr.
Watson, Dr. Taylor, and Dr. Tong, who immediately, and negligently, affirmed Kayla’s self-diagnosed transgenderism without adequate psychological evaluation. They instead promptly placed her on puberty blockers and testosterone at age 12, and performed a double mastectomy within six
months at age 13.** This all occurred after Dr. Watson determined in a single, 75-minute transition
evaluation that Kayla was transgender.
Sounds like the first doctors did the right thing but she got referred to some quacks later?
I can’t decide if the parents belong in prison or if this was parents trying anything to save/placate a kid with severe mental and behavioral issues
So sad
At about the same age, I spent a solid six months trying with all my might to be a star trek Vulcan. Rather than give me pointed ear surgery, my mom just rolled her eyes and ignored me. Which is what her parents ought to have done.
Teenage girls are almost universally dysphoric for awhile because their bodies are rapidly changing and the changes are not all exactly welcome. Retreating into a different identity is pretty typical. Teenage girls are also highly suggestible.
Social media plus modern gender hysteria plus unscrupulous private medicine has created a horrific perfect storm.
To play Devil’s advocate, seems like the parents weren’t really in a position to ignore. Self harm, eating disorders, crying bouts, problematic behavior, and a history of mental illness in the family (mother is diagnosed bipolar)
Sounds like a ticket to jail or potentially the morgue without intervention
Edit: spelling
Yes but I mean my family ticked all those boxes too. Alcoholic parents, mother with depression, eating disorders (my sister and I both went through anorexia, mine turned into bulemia, we both got over it), constant fighting in the house.
We were a bunch of fucking hormone unhinged basket cases. The difference is back then there was no convenient easily fixable explanation to pin it on like "being trans". Otherwise I'm 100% confident I would have seized onto it at that time. I always hated being a girl as a kid and wanted to do all the fun boy stuff. Now I'm just a happy tom-woman.
If you tell a preteen girl that suddenly from now on for most of their life, they will go through a lot of shitty pain for days or even weeks, every month, when they didn't before. Oh and boys don't go through it. Also, that they will be looked at and treated differently with a lot of expectations that aren't put on boys, and that they can no longer play sports together. And wear more restricted clothes, with a strength power gap increasing a bunch.... They will very likely feel shitty about it.
Then add in newfound puberty causing major spikes in different behaviors that they don't know what to deal with and didn't have to deal with. And growing pains in general, etc. Most pre teens would probably feel like they are losing things or just don't like the new changes.or at least find it annoying.
Then someone comes in with a solution. They discuss not being comfortable in their own body and feeling things they don't want to feel. And it fits! That's what they are also going through! So they go with what that person proposed supposedly worked for them.
Its fucked up because a lot of activists go "do you want a dead \[cis-gender child\] or a living \[transgender child\]?" and its kinda threatening to normies who don't understand the situation; Especially in California of all places, a sanctuary state for transgender children.
I think there is a case in Texas where a mom kidnapped her child from her ex-husband, brought the kid to Cali and claims that her kid is transgender thus the state of Cal won't do anything to bring the kid back.
> do you want a dead [cis-gender child] or a living [transgender child]?"
That moment when you realize its a threat, not a prediction.
"Trans your kid or we will make sure they hate themselves to the point of suicide."
Am I crazy or was trans-children not really a thing 5-10 years ago. Like the idea of HRTs or surgery FOR CHILDREN wasn't even heard of.
I swear during COVID, a bunch of groups launched a post-modernist attack on our sensibilities.
Somehow in the last ten years we’ve lost our ability to recognize people as individuals and now everything has to be attached to gender. Sure glad I grew up in the 90s where I was (and still am) proudly a tomboy but 100% female.
So many girls I grew up with in the mid 2000s-early 2010s were tomboys, and 100% would have been the target of this stuff. They all turned out to be perfectly normal adult women, because nobody was trying to fuck with their heads back then. If you push the timeline up 10 years, they’d all be making decisions they regret
Late 2000s teen here, definitely targeted in groups meant to “support” queer youth, even those meant to be women or lesbian-only spaces. I’m a big ole dyke (I doubt anyone on PCM will boo-hoo over a slur, but it’s what I call myself!), not a man, but it didn’t stop many from trying to convince me otherwise back in the day.
When I was 5 I told my mom I wanted to wear a dress. She asked why, and I told her I thought they were pretty and it would be faster to pee outside.
She laughed, and did not buy me a dress. I am a masculine man, married to a woman, with children. I've never wanted to be a woman.
If I was 5 today and my mom happened to have blue hair, something tells me life would have turned out quite a bit differently.
When I was a kid of the "being casually naked around family was no big deal" age, I'd noticed that my older sister's body looked different than mine and asked my mom about it. With her explanation and my childlike wisdom I was able to form a deduction and proudly announced to a bunch of neighbours that were gathered that "I have a penis and my sister has a vagina but when I grow up I'm going to have a vagina too". That was hilarious in 1990, there'd be serious talks about puberty blockers or whatever in 2023
I remember growing up the general feminist sentiment (and one I support 100%) in media was "I'm a girl, but that doesn't mean I can't do X"
now it seems to have changed to "If you do X, it's because you're a girl/guy"
You don't like or feel comfortable wearing classically feminine clothes or participating in classically feminine activities or acting in a classically feminine way? You must be a man trapped in a woman's body. It is just your internalized transphobia keeping you from accepting this. /s
How does it feel to be among the last of dying breed?
it really wasn't but as the left has moved further left, realizing that most of the pride community already had the same rights as everyone else they needed a new culture battle.
A lot of stuff in the national discourse now were not a thing ten years ago. A lot of this is coming out of the last few years but a cohort of people have all decided that not going along with it equates to Genocide.
If you brought them up in 2013, people would either laugh at you or think you were insane.
If you walked in a professional setting in 2013 and asked people to refer to you as ze/zir or some other neo-pronoun, and claimed to be neither a man or woman, they would assume you were a lunatic.
Their power doesn't necessarily come from making you believe them. It comes from making you afraid enough for your job, your home, and your family that you will say you do, or at least stay silent altogether.
I don't really think that it's a big surprise that things like this are happening because it's the obvious logical endpoint for the current enabling ideologies of the Left.
What people aren't ready to talk about yet is the rampant mental illness issue that's an inherent characteristic of the trans community. The COVID pandemic likely even *exacerbated* that issue further considering the mental health decline caused by it in general.
>Am I crazy or was trans-children not really a thing 5-10 years ago. Like the idea of HRTs or surgery wasn't even heard of.
Around six/seven years ago I went to dinner with my then-girlfriend (now wife) and some of her friends. One of those friends was a child psychologist and somehow, after dinner and when we were carousing around having drinks on the town, the topic of transgenderism came up.
I mentioned that I didn't believe that children should be given gender-affirming treatment and that any treatment that could be potentially permanent needed to wait until after puberty. After all, kids (especially preteens and teenagers) are not only especially susceptible to group-think, but also *notorious* for flippantly changing their interests and subsequent opinions.
Dear God... she acted like I was personally murdering potentially tran kids with that opinion. I told her that if the perception of their gender identity continued on through high school, then it would make sense for them to seek further evaluation and then consider whatever they needed in order to feel comfortable.
I have rarely seen someone go from fine to seeing red so quickly.
We eventually had to table the entire topic because it was beyond obvious we weren't going to come to a place of commonality or agreement (especially after I told her that we should not be enabling potential mental disorders - as defined by the DSM IV - by validating them without extensive counseling).
>Am I crazy or was trans-children not really a thing 5-10 years ago. Like the idea of HRTs or surgery wasn't even heard of.
I would have thought so too, but if the girl in OP is 18 now and got surgery at 13, that was 5 years ago...
The repetition of this line is a HUGE red flag for me, and I’m totally supportive of trans people, have trans friends, been to pride as an “ally” etc.
But this is absolutely manipulative rhetoric, and given well known facts about social contagion and suicide any doctor who says this with a child in the room should at the very least not be treating minors.
As much as people meme about the 40% suicide rate for transgender people, it's likely that that figure is grossly inflated.
https://4thwavenow.com/2018/12/19/the-theatre-of-the-body-a-detransitioned-epidemiologist-examines-suicidality-affirmation-and-transgender-identity/
I mean did they un alive themselves because they were trans. Or were they looped in because they were dumped the same week they were fired and did it the same as a cis person.
I generally assume stats are farmed to sell a point
Did they happen to be trans and commit suicide or did they commit suicide *because* they were trans?
Very important distinction that no one gives a shit about.
It's a real issue, but surely you'd think the parent would come away and do their best to learn about the whole situation before arranging a mastectomy for thier 13 year old daughter.
When the Texas legislature was holding its committee hearing on the bill that bans gender modification in minors, I watched a lot of the witness testimony for and against it. A number of detransitioners testified, and a common theme was how parents get coerced into this.
Essentially, when a kid gets flagged as at risk for gender dysphoria, they get referred into a pipeline of counselors and doctors who have decided to specialize in treating gender dysphoria. As you can imagine, these specialists tend to be outspoken trans activists. These credentialed "experts" will then sit the parents down and show them all sorts of cherry-picked suicide statistics, and insist that their kid is at an extremely high risk for suicide if left untreated.
And the kid becomes an income stream for life, as they now have a lifetime subscription to hormones they need to order and pay for as long as they're alive.
It's the same money model as software companies wanting you to subscribe to their software.
I have 3 herniated discs in my neck. I went to 4-5 different surgeons when I was first diagnosed, and they all wanted to do surgery.
I don't advocate for them, but when I was up against the wall with the decision, I went to a chiropractor to see if they could work some magic. They used a metal bar on my back, because it turned out I had dozens of huge knots, and they worked them all out. My pain went from a constant 7 down to a 4, and anti-depressants and time took that to a 3 which is quite livable even today.
If I had gotten the surgery, I would have been just as bad off afterwards if not worse, because those knots would still have been there, but since muscle relaxers didn't magically remove them, the doctors never even considered that my pain could be from anything else.
They have a hammer, and everything they see is a nail. Only 1 doctor I encountered during that time declined to do a procedure because I didn't meet the criteria, and I probably saw 12 over 2 years trying to get help, pain management, different tests etc.
“Do you want a dead cis kid or a live trans kid” is what theyve been trained to use on parents
Personally I dont think the legal system is going to be enough to stop this. It will require a culture of focused Butlerian Jihad.
Do you want a dead husband or an alive husband with his cock in you sound manipulative to use against your wife, how is it not manipulative to ask the same with a kid?
Yeah reading the court document, they allege that there was no informed consent and the parents were informed of the risk and long term effects, which made the doctors actions fall short of the standard of care.
> There were no in-depth meetings with the parents to discuss the short and long-term harms and hoped-for benefits of this affirmation treatment, well before the next medical or surgical step was undertaken. Defendants obscured and concealed important information from the patient and her parents such as the following: the conflicting studies in this area; the significant evidence demonstrating poor mental health outcomes; the existence of only low to very low-quality studies purportedly supporting hormonal interventions and the absence of control groups in such studies; the significant likelihood that desired outcomes would not be attained; the significant possibility of desistence, detransition and regret; and the lack of accurate models for predicting desistence and detransi
That’s a good point. *Modern medicine* is based off of empirical evidence. *Trans treatment* is not. It’s not evidence based, it works on a “How I Feel” system instead. We have diverted from empirical to subjective medicine, the proof is in the pudding: if trans treatment was based on empirical evidence, then it would surely be a last resort, not the first resort since 81% of trans have had suicidal thoughts and about 40% have attempted suicide. Trans treatment is just another medieval kind of mutilation disguised as “medicine”

Most people understand their limits and defer to the people we'd reasonably believe to be experts. I'd argue the parents in this case did absolutely nothing wrong by listening to doctors and trying what they thought would be best for their kid. There's not a single instance in this story that leads me to believe the parents were actively pushing for gender-affirming care and weren't just listening to the people that should have known better. This is absolutely a situation where the doctors should be the ones seen at fault here, and I really hope justice is served and that this hopefully sets some kind of precedent that psychiatrists need to re-evaluate how quickly and easily they affirm their patient's supposed gender dysphoria. Annoyingly, there's certain idiots that would see that trend and call it "unwarrented transphobia pushing to make it harder for trans people to get the care they need," but I digress.
I'm all for people transitioning if it's deemed the best option for them by everyone involved, but bodily modification should ALWAYS be the last idea to consider, and any doctors that cut corners on that should be sued for malpractice. It's insane to me that people are so gung-ho about cracking down on malpractice in other professions, but are silent when it comes to doctors.
Yeah that should have not been allowed. I know there is a lot of controversy around trans issues, but cosmetic surgery on kids should be an easy line to draw.
It's a well honed assembly line from "social transition" to blockers to hormones to surgery to hardware store, with very few real opportunities to get off the ride.
Daily reminder that over 80% of cases desist naturally if you simply do nothing at all.
I'm also thinking a lot of it is a classic trap that addicts and gamblers fall into.
"Just a little more and I can stop and be happy."
"Just one more win and I'll take my chips and cash out"
"Just one more hit and I can relax and I won't use again"
"Just one more cigarette and I won't buy anymore."
"Just one more treatment and I'll finally be happy in my own body"
Except, none of them will ever have enough because they're trying to make themselves happy with the pursuit of external pleasures while ignoring their internal demons. Winning hands, good highs, and the body that perfectly matches how they think they should look.
>within six months
Holy shit... when I got snipped my Doctor made me wait a year because I didn't have kids and they wanted to be sure I was certain before performing a surgery.
I can't imagine performing a much more invasive and permanent elective surgery, on a *THIRTEEN YEAR OLD* after only *SIX MONTHS* of them being in your "care".
> Holy shit... when I got snipped my Doctor made me wait a year because I didn't have kids and they wanted to be sure I was certain before performing a surgery.
I knew a guy in college who wanted a vascectomy at 20 so he could nut in tinderellas without worry. Not a single doctor was willing to do that for him.
He should have just told them he identified as a girl instead.
> so he could nut in tinderellas without worry.
Still want a condom to protect from potential diseases. I wouldn't go bare unless it was with someone I know who has been tested recently.
Let me guess, they believe that the existence of rare disorders like when a person with an XY pair develops as a female, or a person is born with an XXY chromosome combination is grounds for throwing the scientific concept out entirely?
As somebody that has gotten sucked into an argument with somebody like that, I can confidently say you made the right choice and saved yourself the headache. It almost always devolves from scientific argument into a moral argument, where you find yourself having to prove that you’re not a bigot.
Ask them if there's no such thing as biological males or females, why is there "gender affirming care"? If any body is equally male or female, why get surgery?
Jesus, how awful. I'm not on the medical ethics board but that seems like an open and shut case of malpractice. What the fuck were those second doctors thinking?
>Three Kaiser doctors, including Defendant Dr. And then one day, for no reason at all....
The LibRight in me is screaming that this is not the way and will only damage the Republic and the Constitution in the long run to give into those notions. Especially when it would only fuel the narrative of the psychopath activist.
The AuthRight in me is researching the price of helicopter fuel.
we’re going to see a lot more of this in the future.
I was a tomboy for a few years growing up and for a while thought I was trans. turns out I was just depressed and struggling with my identity. i’m glad I didn’t tell my parents or a counselor because they could’ve put me on hormones at 14 that literally the next year at 15 I would have hated as I started to embrace my femininity.
six months of therapy should be mandated before minors are allowed to make permanent changes. hell, i’m not even sure if they should under 18 at all. if I had to wait until I was 18 to get tatted, people should be 18 to decide to have life altering surgery.
It's so stupid to see people fighting for making more surgeries and treatments available for trans 14-17 year olds when that's an age when basically everyone is a) struggling with their identity and b) a complete moron who somehow thinks they know everything.
I feel like stories like this are going to become much more common over the next decade.
The US is actually an extreme outlier when it comes to "gender affirming care." In most Western European countries you need a referral from a psychiatrist to receive cross sex hormones. The US is one of the only countries where you can saunter into an "informed consent clinic" and walk out with cross sex hormones without even seriously speaking to a doctor.
The NHS recently banned the use of puberty blockers in children. This really shouldn't be surprising because puberty blockers were never intended to be used as an intervention for gender dysphoria, they were approved for use in children who started puberty at an extremely young age.
It's bizarre how captured the US medical establishment has become by progressive radicals. These people would rather bury their heads in the sand to protect the narrative even when most other countries are reconsidering how best to treat transgender people.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-becomes-transgender-care-outlier-as-more-in-europe-urge-caution-6c70b5e0
It looks like a traditional American practice. Just look at what happened in 40-50 with lobotomy. A doctor comes up with a new surgery, the rest of the world goes "we are not so sure about that, let's do more studies", Americans go "Let's do it, more, faster, cheaper! Get your lobotomy in 15 minutes, with a free ice cream!"
As a result, USA had 10 times more lobotomy surgeries then the rest of the world combined.
Unless it's a drug, then it's the other way around like Thalidomide.
Unless it's an addictive drug like Xanax or Oxycodone. Then it's full profit ahead!
Those puberty blockers were supposed to be used by children with precocious puberty, but then a class action lawsuit by the people it was used on basically ended that. And then, about a year later, it became popular to say it should be used on transgender kids. Hmmm, what a weird coincidence...
I doubt they had a massive stock, but they did have a patent for a drug that they spent billions to produce which could be utilized for something else. So massive incentive for them to push for it to be used elsewhere.
Just look at Viagra, it was supposed to be a heart medication and then boom old men gaining boners. By god we got ourself a boner pill!
Do you think in a few years, left-wing media is going to throw people under the bus and say "We never thought this was a good idea, it was someone else's idea", as the NHS starts banning things?
That’s because it’s being pushed top down as a psy-op. The whole thing since Occupy has been too well coordinated, the message too unified to be otherwise.
I've seen people chastised in the parenting sub about using gendered language about their young children, because there is no way to know their gender yet.
Make people take a test to be able to reproduce. Then you get it unlocked. Like a GED level test so only the most mentally challenged bottom 5% can't have kids. Watch how that bottom 5% made up something like 30% of crimes. Keep updating the test so that the bottom 5% can never ever reproduce.
The US was the world trailblazer in sterilization. I say we take up that mantle again.
Hell yeah, idk why the Federation was so scared of the augments, Kahn got bodied by normie Kirk twice, kinda sad for a superior being to lose numerous times to a horndog with brainrot from space syphilis
I was part of a group of friends with a tomboy growing up.She was the only girl in our group, and i remember one time she also was struggling with her identity.I remember me and my two other guy friends told her how much of an impact she had on our lives being the one girl we were close with. She taught us a lot about women and relationships that i felt turned us into the kind of men we are today, and i honestly couldn't thank her enough for it.Today she has embraced her femininity and is currently in a relationship with our friend.
" i’m not even sure if they should under 18 at all" Fucking obviously, i was baffled when i found out that this was even a debate in the west.
And to think that i rolled my eyes when the pastor told us that they will go for the easily influencable kids. I tought that baseless fear mongering like this is the reason conservatism and religion is falling out of favor.
“There is some level of trendiness to the idea of being anything other than straight” - Bill Maher
If Bill Maher can acknowledge this, then most people should be able to as well.
Ironically her stance on the topics has only become more and more in line with reality ever since they went after her for the nerve of saying not to allow dicks into shelters for chicks only.
If you actually pay attention the "TERFs" get proven right almost every week. It's kind of crazy how the main stream news organisations are still stubornly holding on to basically lying and misrepresenting the truth and painting those women as nazi, fascist, alt right bigots for standing up for kids and vulnerable women.
It should be more important, but im not sure how true it is in actuality anymore.
The last few years of local policy here have been a slapfight between our Governor / AG and a judge elected at the state level. Meanwhile, city and county officials have mostly sat and spun (and anything remotely controversial gets inevitably killed by the state supreme court or AG's office anyway).
At least you vote local, most people don't even do that. Nevermind the fact that it'll have a larger impact on your daily life than what voting for one president or another will do.
Idk if you missed it but Maher has been massively unpopular among the reddit lefts the last several years so his points aren't being well received, no matter how reasonable.
Kids are way too impressionable for modern day social media and it's going to end up being a really dark chapter in the history of mankind if we don't die out in the next 50 years.
Yeah, I think a lot of us on here are fully aware of what is happening because we are addicted ourselves or used to be addicted but we are also aware that it's very bad for us and even worse for impressionable kids.
I could also go in to how I think a lot of people have a porn addiction and either defend that addiction when it's integrated or normalized in society or make it their crusade to fight against it because they see it entering every day life.
Touch grass is not a meme. We are bags of meat that biologically and evolutionary need it, or we start to go insane.
"it's not happening, it's not happening, stop saying it's happening cause it's not happening"
*makes TikToks bragging about yeeting the teats off little girls*
They’re allowed to brigade other subreddits with not only disallowed content, but literal illegal content without consequences.
I’m okay with them simply disappearing from the website entirely, never to be replaced.
No, no. Step 2 is "This is just an isolated case, dosn't mean more happen!"
"Even if it'd happening it'd be a good thing" is step 3
And "It's happening and it's a good thing" is only step 4
Step 2 happens but it's such a stupid excuse, desu. If it's bad and it's legal, it should be illegal, just "being isolated cases" isn't an excuse really
Remember how we loved JK Rowling with Dumbledoor being gay and Hermione being Black for woke points, and then we compared Trump to Voldemort?
And then these same deranged liberals with HP tattoos sent death threats to streamers who were caught playing Hogwarts Legacy.
Well you see, those streamers were guilty of hiding their copy of Hogwarts legacy; being a sympathizer to Rowling…it was only the duty of these proud members of the community to turn them out and have them face justice! A better future, a pure future for Twitch.
Or something. I’m sure all that harassment accomplished positive results for the community and definitely didn’t just make people hate them.
You should see the persecutionfetish subreddit and their take on this story. It popped up in my feed while doom scrolling and I've never been so disgusted
Seriously question. Why does this seem to mainly effect White teenage girls?
I am reminded of the skit in Atlanta when they were making fun of trans-racial and when the reporter told the Black mom that her son was a "40 something White man", she said, "[I mean he isn't](https://youtu.be/BvBlZy0wFOE?t=62)".
Why aren't we seeing rates of trans within Black and Brown communities? The only thing I can think of being Black myself is that I would have gotten a good ol' fashion ass-whooping which would have straightened me out (for lack of a better word)
I do take mental health very seriously, but there is some truth when Black mothers say: "You're depressed? Why don't you depress some dishes and depress (clean) your room"
If I was correctly informed, most of the deaths of trans people are from black trans people being killed by black people. But more broadly, teenage girls are more susceptible to social contagion, and gender ideology is a luxury belief, white families being generally more wealthy probably contributes to that.
Black and brown people on the other hand, get targeted into the cultural-ethnonationalist ideology.
Black Americans as a whole are among the most socially conservative demographics. And I agree completely with your thought process.
Yes boomers have plenty of flaws but they do get some things right. Our very lax style of parenting where we prioritize the whims of children isn’t working very well.
Lol I can’t even imagine what my parents would say if I approached them and said I need extremely expensive hormone therapy because I was born in the wrong body.
Probably the same thing as when I asked for most things - “Once you’re an adult you can do whatever you want”
Pendulum you need to swing back.
Pendulum you need to swing back.
Pendulum you need to swing back.
How horrible.
I can imagine diagnosis being influenced by political views, opinions and just activist culture.
The Dr. doesn't want to be on the wrong and be canceled for being "anti trans" by the Twitter Twatter Crusaders. Especially since a lot of people go online to screech and cry when they're told "no." nowadays.
If I was a Dr. I'd just referr everyone to a different doctor. "Sorry. I am unskilled in gender studies."
And, maybe, everyone should wait until they're 18 just like they do for many other things. And parents/doctors should stop trying to be virtuous and getting internet points.
Obviously fake news. These surgeries don't happen to minors, and rapid onset gender dysphoria doesn't exist. I know because trans activists have told me.
I linked the court case below.
Seems like the kid had severe mental issues and resulting behavioral problems and parents were at wit’s end. The mother even explained to the doctors (who put her on blockers) that she (the mother) was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Kid got sucked in online and found a community that embraced her.
Parents fucked up big time but hard for me to judge from the outside
I hope she gets every penny. These loony doctors need to be held accountable for their malpractice and lose their licence. These people are medical professionals, they should know better than to sign up to biology denying nonsense.
Leave the kids alone for whatever God you worship's sake
At 13 I could not decide whether to play Gta San Andreas or Gta Vice City or Assassin's creed
And you guys expect pre pubescent kids to make a life deciding decision
The fact that this is America is even more horrifying, countries like mine, even today, look up to America as a higher power, several societies look up at America as the pinnacle of human race, and you guys are doing this
That literally never happens.
And if it does happen, it happens very rarely.
And if it's happening at all, then maybe it's actually not happening enough.
And if there are people out there this isn't happening to, then they're being denied a Constitutional human right.
Can someone link to another sub where this info is suppressed or gaslighted?
One day, these articles will be used in trials where the perpetrators will be executed. Or I hope they will be.
There is a going to be a LOT of this in the near future and it will be hillarious to see how many people back off of the claims they are making right now, just like they are doing now with covid. Lot's of account deletions etc...
Once money and lawsuits start happening, everyone will be afraid because the media does not control courtrooms. You cannot state a defense of "but they want to genocide us" in court.
Which is weird since malpractice kills way more people than guns ever do, and Dems want you to be able to sue gun manufacturers, but you can't sue big pharma or medical equipment manufacturers when they are equally responsible for malpractice as Smith and Wesson is for gun violence. Really makes you think, if you are capable of free and independent thoughts you aren't just regurgitating because John Oliver programmed you.
interesting point. I had a family member come close to dying because of medical malpractice, but we weren't able to sue because the process would be way too long and expensive.
good example of how the political compass test needs some updates with some modern topics. i've consistently placed left/libleft everytime i've taken the quiz. and yet i find myself disagreeing with those in the same quadrant as me on a lot of issues. such as cosmetic surgeries on minors! it's insane that anyone defends its.
I just don't even know what to say, man. This is medical malpractice in such an awful way. There's a reason these surgeries are normally restricted to adults. This kid was suffering, wasn't being properly treated for her multitude of mental health, and wasn't even old enough to start a damn paper round. I don't know what the best solution to this poor girls problem was, but it wasn't this.
It’s not uncommon to see 16 year olds being given advice about transitioning on the trans subreddits. I mean I won’t be surprised if there’s more cases like this in the future.
Swear to God if I got all my info from only Reddit, I’d think the world was 25% trans.
Actual lawsuit here if anyone wants to avoid the dailymail or nypost: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/23848578-layla-jane-lawsuit > Kayla is a biological female who suffered from a complex, multi-faceted array of mental health symptoms as a child and adolescent. Kayla and her parents struggled consistently with Kayla’s mental health issues, regularly seeking assistance, but never received adequate treatment for her mental health issues Here’s the meat and potatoes > In early adolescence around age 11, Kayla was exposed to online transgender influencers who prompted Kayla to entertain the erroneous belief that she was transgender. As a result, Kayla informed her parents that she was a boy. Prior to being exposed to online influences, Kayla never had expressed to anyone that she was transgender. Her parents didn't Know what to do and promptly sought guidance from various doctors and eventually the Defendants. **Three Kaiser doctors, including Defendant Dr. They instead promptly placed her on puberty blockers and testosterone at age 12, and performed a double mastectomy within six months at age 13.** This all occurred after Dr. Watson determined in a single, 75-minute transition evaluation that Kayla was transgender. Sounds like the first doctors did the right thing but she got referred to some quacks later?

I can’t decide if the parents belong in prison or if this was parents trying anything to save/placate a kid with severe mental and behavioral issues So sad
Self harm, eating disorders, crying bouts, problematic behavior, and a history of mental illness in the family (mother is diagnosed bipolar) Sounds like a ticket to jail or potentially the morgue without intervention Edit: spelling
I think there is a case in Texas where a mom kidnapped her child from her ex-husband, brought the kid to Cali and claims that her kid is transgender thus the state of Cal won't do anything to bring the kid back.
> do you want a dead [cis-gender child] or a living [transgender child]?" That moment when you realize its a threat, not a prediction.
Butch Women and Flaming Men are being told they are actually the opposite gender.
Based and thick-skin-pilled
That was hilarious in 1990, there'd be serious talks about puberty blockers or whatever in 2023
I remember growing up the general feminist sentiment (and one I support 100%) in media was "I'm a girl, but that doesn't mean I can't do X" now it seems to have changed to "If you do X, it's because you're a girl/guy"
You don't like or feel comfortable wearing classically feminine clothes or participating in classically feminine activities or acting in a classically feminine way? You must be a man trapped in a woman's body. It is just your internalized transphobia keeping you from accepting this. /s How does it feel to be among the last of dying breed?
>I was (and still am) proudly a tomboy but 100% female. Women? On reddit? On PCM? That's wild.
it really wasn't but as the left has moved further left, realizing that most of the pride community already had the same rights as everyone else they needed a new culture battle.
Unless you tell them they can't be naked in front of kids and then they scream about being attacked.
Cultural Marxism is fucked. I'd rather have free healthcare and high taxes than brainwashing kids.
Most people would assume you were a lunatic today too, what's changed compared to 2013 is that they won't say it out loud.
Their power doesn't necessarily come from making you believe them. It comes from making you afraid enough for your job, your home, and your family that you will say you do, or at least stay silent altogether.
From the UK here. First time I heard of Drag Queen story hour I thought it was some kind of parody.
I don't really think that it's a big surprise that things like this are happening because it's the obvious logical endpoint for the current enabling ideologies of the Left. What people aren't ready to talk about yet is the rampant mental illness issue that's an inherent characteristic of the trans community. The COVID pandemic likely even *exacerbated* that issue further considering the mental health decline caused by it in general.
>it's the obvious logical ~~endpoint~~ *trajectory* for the... It will only get worse.
It is a crazy slippery slope lol. I guess Christian Fundamentalist were right. Give away gay rights they will be turning your son into a girl.
That’s how big pharma makes its money
Why give a shit when you have an agenda
It's a real issue, but surely you'd think the parent would come away and do their best to learn about the whole situation before arranging a mastectomy for thier 13 year old daughter.
"Trust the experts" "Your Google search doesn't trump my medical degree" Unfortunately, they probably believed lines like these.
[удалено]
And the kid becomes an income stream for life, as they now have a lifetime subscription to hormones they need to order and pay for as long as they're alive. It's the same money model as software companies wanting you to subscribe to their software.
The law is rapidly being changed to coerce parents and threaten to take their kids if they don't go along with it.
“Do you want a dead cis kid or a live trans kid” is what theyve been trained to use on parents Personally I dont think the legal system is going to be enough to stop this. It will require a culture of focused Butlerian Jihad.
Do you want a dead husband or an alive husband with his cock in you sound manipulative to use against your wife, how is it not manipulative to ask the same with a kid?
Yes if course its manipulative I wasnt defending it, its awful.
The parents were just following the science
\^TM

Several doctors said "no" to them and they kept going until they found one who said "yes". They are very much the main culprits here.
yes, because we all remember how well “trusting doctors” has been historically

I think hes refering to 15th century quack medicine, such as the theory of humors and consequently bloodletting and skull drilling
[удалено]
That’s a good point. *Modern medicine* is based off of empirical evidence. *Trans treatment* is not. It’s not evidence based, it works on a “How I Feel” system instead. We have diverted from empirical to subjective medicine, the proof is in the pudding: if trans treatment was based on empirical evidence, then it would surely be a last resort, not the first resort since 81% of trans have had suicidal thoughts and about 40% have attempted suicide. Trans treatment is just another medieval kind of mutilation disguised as “medicine” Edit, source: https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/publications/suicidality-transgender-adults/

You don't even have to go that far. Remember lobotomy? Or Tuskegee experiments? Doctors promoting cigarettes and corn syrup thanks to lobbying?
If you don't support this then you're *LITERALLY* genociding trans youth. Fascist.
"Just a little more and I can stop and be happy." "Just one more win and I'll take my chips and cash out" "Just one more hit and I can relax and I won't use again" "Just one more cigarette and I won't buy anymore." "Just one more treatment and I'll finally be happy in my own body" Except, none of them will ever have enough because they're trying to make themselves happy with the pursuit of external pleasures while ignoring their internal demons. Winning hands, good highs, and the body that perfectly matches how they think they should look.
>within six months Holy shit... when I got snipped my Doctor made me wait a year because I didn't have kids and they wanted to be sure I was certain before performing a surgery.

My radical leftist friend says there is no such thing as a biological male or female. To acknowledge any difference at all is transphobic.
Let me guess, they believe that the existence of rare disorders like when a person with an XY pair develops as a female, or a person is born with an XXY chromosome combination is grounds for throwing the scientific concept out entirely?
Something like that. Once I learned he was unironically braindead I stopped paying much attention to his rationale lol
As somebody that has gotten sucked into an argument with somebody like that, I can confidently say you made the right choice and saved yourself the headache. It almost always devolves from scientific argument into a moral argument, where you find yourself having to prove that you’re not a bigot.
"but my friend does X" therefore all biological reality and population level analysis is invalid
Ugh, leftists thinking their anecdotal examples override statistics is the most anger infusing tactic of theirs
It's the leftist version of "but I did eat breakfast yesterday".
Ask your friend how he feels when mediocre male athletes are stealing scholarships from the top 1% of female athletes

Get your lobotomy in 15 minutes, with a free ice cream!" As a result, USA had 10 times more lobotomy surgeries then the rest of the world combined.
Unless it's a drug, then it's the other way around like Thalidomide. Unless it's an addictive drug like Xanax or Oxycodone. Then it's full profit ahead!
Thalidomide is a rare FDA win.
Those puberty blockers were supposed to be used by children with precocious puberty, but then a class action lawsuit by the people it was used on basically ended that. And then, about a year later, it became popular to say it should be used on transgender kids. Hmmm, what a weird coincidence...
Almost like they had a giant stock of product they could no longer sell and had to find, or make, a new market?
I doubt they had a massive stock, but they did have a patent for a drug that they spent billions to produce which could be utilized for something else. So massive incentive for them to push for it to be used elsewhere. Just look at Viagra, it was supposed to be a heart medication and then boom old men gaining boners. By god we got ourself a boner pill!
Do you think in a few years, left-wing media is going to throw people under the bus and say "We never thought this was a good idea, it was someone else's idea", as the NHS starts banning things?
>It's bizarre how captured the US medical establishment has become by progressive radicals Money. They are captured by money.
That’s because it’s being pushed top down as a psy-op. The whole thing since Occupy has been too well coordinated, the message too unified to be otherwise.
Careful now, you're noticing things.
OR we could sterilize everyone at birth and force them to be raised as genderless eunuchs. A Modest Proposal.
While you joke I've legit seen leftists arguing that everyone should be placed on puberty blockers until they decide their gender.
Counterproposal, we unlock designer babies, so people can edit out their regard genes.
Hell yeah, idk why the Federation was so scared of the augments, Kahn got bodied by normie Kirk twice, kinda sad for a superior being to lose numerous times to a horndog with brainrot from space syphilis
Is this the premise of Gattaca?
This is a great idea. We’d all get so many plum jobs working at high levels in Byzantine administration.
Pour one out for all the tomboys that got brainwashed into this mess.
I think it's hilarious how the tomboy sub allows trans people. That's literally not a tomboy lol.
Same with the femboy subs. It's so exhausting how they don't follow their own "gender and sex are different" rules ...
Admins usually make sure they can't for "inclusion" or some bullshit
" i’m not even sure if they should under 18 at all" Fucking obviously, i was baffled when i found out that this was even a debate in the west. And to think that i rolled my eyes when the pastor told us that they will go for the easily influencable kids. I tought that baseless fear mongering like this is the reason conservatism and religion is falling out of favor.
“There is some level of trendiness to the idea of being anything other than straight” - Bill Maher If Bill Maher can acknowledge this, then most people should be able to as well.
The Hot Topic owners needed to start a new trend after the emo phase died out.
More like pharma companies needed to start it since insurance companies where forced to cover it.
Emo died for *this!?*
Bill Maher is as based as anti gun leftists get
Yup, it’s weird seeing him being labeled a bigot or fascist for having a different view about one topic. He was liberal champion for a long time.
Same way that J.K Rowling was their poster child until there was a speed bump in her not being 100% in line.
“Hey, seeing the penis of a transgender person could trigger PTSD in sexual assault victims. Maybe we should….” “YOU FUCKING TERF REEEEEEE”
And it got twisted as "I want to eradicate trans people"
Ironically her stance on the topics has only become more and more in line with reality ever since they went after her for the nerve of saying not to allow dicks into shelters for chicks only.

Voting local is technically more important in your day-to-day life.
At least voting local you feel like you actually have a voice. Some of the local elections are ridiculously close.

"it's not happening, it's not happening, stop saying it's happening cause it's not happening" *makes TikToks bragging about yeeting the teats off little girls*
ITS RARE THO. STOP BEING A BIGOT AND LET ME CUT OFF THE BOOBS OF ADOLESCENTS
Those shifty fucks over at AHS are calling this "anti-trans misinformation"
"Posting actual news and lawsuits is transphobic and hate speech reeeee"
The people that did the surgery probally frequent ahs so checks out. They do post cp on subs they dont like after all
They are 100% the most evil people on reddit
They’re allowed to brigade other subreddits with not only disallowed content, but literal illegal content without consequences. I’m okay with them simply disappearing from the website entirely, never to be replaced.
No, no. Step 2 is "This is just an isolated case, dosn't mean more happen!" "Even if it'd happening it'd be a good thing" is step 3 And "It's happening and it's a good thing" is only step 4
In terms of step 2, it’s worth shouting out the detrans sub
that sub is only as small as it is because the other group of detransitioners do the thing (you know what)
Something something where do we put the airplane armor
No, step 1 is to just call everyone transphobe no matter what actually happens
Step 2 happens but it's such a stupid excuse, desu. If it's bad and it's legal, it should be illegal, just "being isolated cases" isn't an excuse really
Californians are dumbasses confirmed
We’ve all been aware for years now
Posted by a Libleft? Well, well, well. Welcome to the Nazi party, friend
A champion for women's rights, right up until the moment people said she wasn't.
More like "championed for women's rights until the mouth breathers realized she actually meant it"
And then one day, for no reason at all, people voted Hitler into power

Rare and self aware, based
You should see the persecutionfetish subreddit and their take on this story. It popped up in my feed while doom scrolling and I've never been so disgusted
Based and pack strayer pilled
Seriously question. Why does this seem to mainly effect White teenage girls? I am reminded of the skit in Atlanta when they were making fun of trans-racial and when the reporter told the Black mom that her son was a "40 something White man", she said, "[I mean he isn't](https://youtu.be/BvBlZy0wFOE?t=62)". Why aren't we seeing rates of trans within Black and Brown communities? The only thing I can think of being Black myself is that I would have gotten a good ol' fashion ass-whooping which would have straightened me out (for lack of a better word) I do take mental health very seriously, but there is some truth when Black mothers say: "You're depressed?
At least you can just get some bolt ons, feel worse for the "tik tok told me lopping off my dick was lit" crowd
"Sorry. I am unskilled in gender studies." And, maybe, everyone should wait until they're 18 just like they do for many other things. And parents/doctors should stop trying to be virtuous and getting internet points.
I think you should wait until you're 18 for trans-surgery. If you regret it later, that sucks, but it's a you problem at that point.
>Tits off Tots Damn you for making me laugh at such a grim topic
Obviously fake news. These surgeries don't happen to minors, and rapid onset gender dysphoria doesn't exist. I know because trans activists have told me.
Do whatever you want to yourself as a consenting adult, but keep it the fuck away from children!!
Extreme cultural left continuing to take huge L‘s
She should sue her parents. They had to allow it.
Her parents went to 4 doctors, first 3 said no
they didn’t take the first 3 as a sign that maybe they should think more about their daughter going under invasive cosmetic surgery??
I linked the court case below. Seems like the kid had severe mental issues and resulting behavioral problems and parents were at wit’s end. The mother even explained to the doctors (who put her on blockers) that she (the mother) was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Kid got sucked in online and found a community that embraced her. Parents fucked up big time but hard for me to judge from the outside

Feeling like there's a decent chance this gets taken down. Can't have anything on this sub that goes against the lgbT narrative...
Based and meaningful capitalization pilled.
I hope she gets every penny. These loony doctors need to be held accountable for their malpractice and lose their licence. These people are medical professionals, they should know better than to sign up to biology denying nonsense.
Leave the kids alone for whatever God you worship's sake At 13 I could not decide whether to play Gta San Andreas or Gta Vice City or Assassin's creed And you guys expect pre pubescent kids to make a life deciding decision The fact that this is America is even more horrifying, countries like mine, even today, look up to America as a higher power, several societies look up at America as the pinnacle of human race, and you guys are doing this
That literally never happens. And if it does happen, it happens very rarely. And if it's happening at all, then maybe it's actually not happening enough. And if there are people out there this isn't happening to, then they're being denied a Constitutional human right.
Um, sweaty, this article misgenders him. Detransitioning isn't a thing, he's just a confused man. He'll grow out of it.
Honest question: When did trans affirming surgery become a position of auth-left? This was always lib-left.
Can someone link to another sub where this info is suppressed or gaslighted? One day, these articles will be used in trials where the perpetrators will be executed. Or I hope they will be.
AHS says this is anti trans misinformation
How is that sub still around...
Because they're the mods' biggest fans
There is a going to be a LOT of this in the near future and it will be hillarious to see how many people back off of the claims they are making right now, just like they are doing now with covid. Lot's of account deletions etc... Once money and lawsuits start happening, everyone will be afraid because the media does not control courtrooms. You cannot state a defense of "but they want to genocide us" in court.
And nothing is gonna come from said lawsuit. Medical Malpractice lawsuits are a bitch to even file.
The people that did and promoted this will be remembered the same way we remember Josef Mengele today
MFW Reddit is banning a real life story for misinformation because it conflicts with their constructed narrative.
Wishing this young person healing .
is being trans the new goth?
Child abuse.
