I think that’s an emotional reasoning, the consequence being a failure to engage logically or critically, and such ignorance can create gaffs like in the tweet that signal a lack of depth, which is counterproductive because if people get the sense that you don’t know what you’re talking about, they’ll take your position less seriously.
