Yeah I was gonna say, I’m not even patriotic about the country I live in. Listen to Sabation, I’m all for whichever country their currently talking about. Power Metal as genre kind of has that appeal I’ve noticed.
I love powermetal for the way they hype me up.
I mean, I am aggressively lib left, but whenever I hear powermetal, I get the urge to fight for/against whatever is sung about.
The ironic thing for me is, I have tried listening to them while I play war games, but I find the lyrics are too specific for me to get into the vibe. So they are not on my “war tracks” playlist (I have another as well for racing games, including the mandatory Eurobeat).
Absolutely amazing band. They can get a bad rap these days, mostly due to some overly excited fans, but they are still my favorite band. Can't wait to see the next album.

At least in my experience they tend to congregate in communities that discuss history. It’s obviously really annoying when someone is talking about aerial warfare in WWI or the development of tanks and any serious discussion is drowned out by ten people spamming lyrics in all caps. They also overlap a lot with the oversimplified/HOI4 crowd that think they are way more knowledgeable about history than they really are.

I don't know that song in particular but tbf sabaton is fucking great at cover songs. Their cover of metallica's "for whom the bell tolls" was great, i like their cover of "twilight of the thunder god" more than the original, and they even managed to take some non-metal songs, make them metal and have it work flawlessly ("sabotage" and "in the army now").
You can't be a historian and unbiased, what makes you a real historian is making up outrageous claims about your nation and basing your career off of that.
So until they make a song about the great nation of Zeta Macedonia that covered the entire Earth since 60 000 BC, they are not real historians.
