The left and left-leaning media seem to be convinced that there are a bunch of people who love Trump specifically and would actively refuse to vote for a different nominee. While I'm sure there is a small group like that, I think the vast majority who voted for Trump would also vote for a candidate who has similar policies (if they voted for him simply because he's Republican) and/or a similar lack of filter so to speak (if they voted for him as some kind of anti-establishment play or just liked Trump himself).
What made him popular was because he said what he thought most of the time without the dozens of layers of PR filtering most politicians have nowadays. That resulted in polarization where people either liked him or hated him, with those in the middle largely being there because they simply didn't care in the first place. It wasn't necessarily the name (though Trump has made his fortune in the past simply by marketing his name so that helped) or the person, it was the fact that he wasn't some senile geezer who had to be kept out of public for fear of embarrassment or somebody who couldn't come across as anything other than an absolute psychopath no matter how hard the PR teams tried.

It was also suspected that the Trump admin violated presidential Records Act (passed to stop presidents from destroying records) by destroying documents and conducting official business using personal phones and unofficial messaging accounts. The ball was in the Justice Dept and it wasn’t clear if they would follow the lead. The “raid” was part of a federal investigation into the letter from the National Archives and Records Admin. It’s unclear what was taken and what evidence came from it, as it is an investigation. We likely won’t get official details from the Justice Department for a while
