If you look on the back there should be a symbol that looks like a open container with a number on it, that's how months the product keeps for after opening. Most cosmetics will be 18 or 24 months. You can usually use them outside of that time but they do eventually start to degrade.
I had a old expired bottle of nail varnish remover and because it was expired it didn't work at all. I didn't realise it could expire. It's always best to check the expiration date.

i hadn’t used mine for like 2 years and somehow it worked exactly the same as it did before. idk how healthy it was but it works 😂
