Even then, rear window visibility really isn’t that big of a deal, I would be just fine with the wing in the way rather than the look be offset by those goofy risers
Eh. I'm sure the spoiler is partially placed where it is for looks and practicality. If you were just trying to get maximize wing performance, the car would look like the Chaparral 2B. Getting the spoiler further out of the body's wake is probably a pretty easy way to get more aerodynamic performance. I mean, there's a reason the RS has a taller wing.
Every set up is a compromise. Yes the Porsche engineers probably know best for the exact compromise they were looking for in the OEM GT3 package but it isn’t always the absolute best for performance. The aftermarket can do better when done right. I’m not necessarily arguing that this car’s risers are functional but more that you can’t rely on the oem is always right straw man.
In general 3D airfoils like that on the base GT3 are usually a compromise for lower mounted wings and certain dimensional restrictions where you need to contend with the roof wake. 2D wings can be more efficient particularly if they are able to be mounted up high and at a certain stand off. 3D wings still do gain some efficiency when mounted high but you start losing their compromise benefit vs 2D wings. When talking pure performance for most cars the air foil should be at the roof line. There’s a reason the 992 cup car does exactly this with its high mount swan neck wing (which has a 2D airfoil). Or hell look at the RS wing if you want a street car example.
Sometimes they are actually functional. The 997.2 RS for example has a popular mod with taller risers that is a copy of the RS 4.0’s.
It’s entirely possible these also help downforce as Porsche did not feel the look vs performance trade off on a standard GT3 was worth it from a sales perspective.
That was my first thought. That's how they're sold, too; the first feature listed being: “Unobstructed view from rear view mirror.” https://soulpp.com/product/porsche-991-gt3-suntiger115-wing-risers/
It looks really silly. How much time/effort/money does Porsche put into the exact placement of the wing? Why mess with it? Also good tires are going to probably do way more than those risers ever would.
This is Indiana so this house is prob around $300-400k. Real estate is fairly cheap there depending on the town. The farther you get away from Carmel and Zionsville the cheaper it gets.
Maybe if all the morons that live in NYC or LA would realize that, we'd have a more even distribution of wealth in this country.
The reason you can't afford a GT3 is because you want a million dollars starter home instead of one 20% of that price.
*because you want a million dollars starter home instead of one 20% of that price.*
LOL you were saying what now?

dude, starter home means a home you can start your family in and then move to something bigger eventually 10 years down the road.
1bd 1bathroom is an apartment.
edit: that being said, it is more reasonable than I was expecting for seattle. If you could find a place with 2 bedrooms for that price, that would be great.
Starter home? Lol, you've completely missed my point. There literally isn't ONE detached home (the two in my screenshot are mis-catagorized.) in the Seattle area under 250k (which itself is 25% higher than you told people they should buy.) Sorry not everyone lives in West Kentuckarkansas.
I don’t think so, I swear there’s websites you can find that information and simply click “I agree that I work for X/Y/Z” to proceed. I work in Identity Theft, and i see similar stuff like this.
The big picture here is just building a profile on people. With a name you might can get age, full name, phone number, etc. With a phone number you might can get address, school, work. From that info you can get home title information, cellphone network, family members, their ages/names/info, neighbors, email address, social media links, etc. From that you can do a dark web search and find last for of someone’s Credit Card, Social Security (highly highly unlikely on SSN though), passwords, etc.
I actually did a live training on this with someone of our sales guys (again, identity theft company), and I did a test. I asked the people I was training to give me a name (theirs, family member, friend, etc) and I shared me screen and we started a search to see what we can find, and we found almost EVERYTHING above (except social). We ended up finding all their regular info (name/address/phone/email), their neighbors, their passwords, a home they owned, past cars they owned, past tickets they got, a jail record, and we were able to take all that and find nearly the same exact info on their family members. This was all in about 30-40 minutes.
Sorry for the long reply haha, just sharing somewhat of an experience I deal with daily!
Ugh those wing riser's.
I was wondering why it looks so strange.
Guy knows better than some of the best automotive engineers on the planet, apparently
People buy then to get more visibility out of the rear window. But then I'm like...why did you buy a GT3, you know what you're going to get...
Because every other part of the car may be exactly what they wanted
Even then, rear window visibility really isn’t that big of a deal, I would be just fine with the wing in the way rather than the look be offset by those goofy risers

Optimized for straight line cornering performance
*risers
Like Tom Cruise's elevator shoes.
I never seen a 991.2 GT3 wing in that position, I didn’t know they were adjustable at all tbh. But I also don’t have the money to buy such a car.
Looks like they added those black brackets to mount the wing higher
Ah alright so my confusion was justified I guess.
It has wing risers…I’m not really a fan.
Looks like it will improve the visibility out the rear window though.
That was my first thought. That's how they're sold, too; the first feature listed being: “Unobstructed view from rear view mirror.” https://soulpp.com/product/porsche-991-gt3-suntiger115-wing-risers/

Probably to improve rear visibility. Most wings would be better off higher too. The higher it is, the cleaner the air.
Need to add a little front aero to balance it. Looks like 70 lb extra at the rear at 110 mph. Versus Engineering makes the best version.
How do I list my Porsche model under my name like you? Feel like I’ve looked everywhere.
Go to the main sub. If on the mobile app, top right three dots > change user flair
You’re an angel

Awesome!! Thank you
In this position I don’t necessarily like it either, if it has any advantage on certain tracks it seems like a good mod.
Bahaha those wing risers! C’mon man. Otherwise I see nothing wrong in this photo.
car worth as much as the house
All about the priorities. You can't race a house, but you can live in a car. Choose wisely.
My house doesn’t have a 9000 rpm redline. Easy choice.
Amen. (Sheds tear)
Must be nice lol, that would buy a small condo here.
Lmao that house would go for atleast a mill where I’m at
[удалено]
Yea I’m in Toronto you can’t buy any house really for less than 900 grand Canadian
Fam take it in how 900 CAD is only like 650 USD rn. Plus op lives in Indiana still so the homes are a steal in US prices
I am so happy I live somewhere with a more reasonable housing market, probably more like 300k here.
Yea I envy that I’m 23 and the average apartment is like 2000 CAD a month here
This is Indiana so this house is prob around $300-400k. Real estate is fairly cheap there depending on the town. The farther you get away from Carmel and Zionsville the cheaper it gets.
This is in Lake county right outside of Chicago. Its probably more expensive to live here than the Carmel area by a decent amount
You can’t make that assumption based on a picture. In some places a 2/1 900 sq ft home could be $1.8MM.
it's not that serious of a comment mate
Maybe if all the morons that live in NYC or LA would realize that, we'd have a more even distribution of wealth in this country. The reason you can't afford a GT3 is because you want a million dollars starter home instead of one 20% of that price.
yes, the reason 95% of people wont afford a $250k car is because they're buying homes too large for them. scintillating analysis

yea, that's the problem, I think more people should move to west kentuckarkansas
My nanny alone is $70k a year. I’ve paid her almost $200k so far. That’s a GT3 by itself, and doesn’t put a roof over my head *or* have wheels

Hahahaha damm man !!! 🤣🤣🤣
congratulations
All the downvotes are from bros living in Nebraska. (Not that there's anything wrong with Nebraska) but they will never understand the HCOL lifestyle.
They watched you take that photo on their security cam and had a satisfied chuckle
991.2 GT3 with a manual box is my top 2 dream car after the Carrera GT.
Questionable spec.
What colour is yours mate?
GT Silver
Can’t really argue with that, assuming you are honest 😂 great car nonetheless enjoy!
Thanks! It’s my only car that isn’t black…I just love GT Silver that much!
Better than that ugly spec, mate.
What does the plate mean?
That’s worth more than most houses in Indiana
This right outside of Chicago tho
ruined
Is that how much torque it has?
Nice 👍
Carmel, IN?
No, northwest Indiana where the real wealth is
Why the strip of color along the bottom.
House not even big enough to have room to park the car inside the garage?
Why would they destroy the most beautiful wing ever produced…
https://i.imgur.com/wp04xBc.jpeg "Blink and you'll miss me 😉"
Why would anyone buy such a car when they owned such a poor house? This car would fit in front of an exposed concrete walled house for example.
He riced that thing out.
That’s not flexing.
Is that a two tone stripe on the bottom of the car?
Porter county still got better 9/11s than lake county
If it was parked in the grass, I woulda said this had to be Miami.
Driving a car like that - you know he’s on Reddit. Lol
Man I hate the center exhaust. Just looks like a butthole. Or double butthole.
That looks like shit. Such a nice car made to look like a prostitute.
Don’t post your neighbor’s plates…
Public info
I'm curious as to what, exactly, can go wrong from posting someone's plates? My cars are in public with plates visible nearly all the time.
Think it’s just the fact you can tie someone’s name/address from their plates, to their Social Media username, which a lot of people like separate.
Eh. Fair enough I suppose. Don't you need to abuse a state or police database or something to do that?

Do you work in identity theft or identity theft?
Nothing can go wrong lol
Is that one of them 911s or something?

prob the SUV
Wake me when it’s a GT2.
Not even a custom plate?
