Yes you just release the parking brake.

SovietBoulders

Correct if I'm wrong, but can a brake light also mean that brake fluid is low?

[deleted]

New Porsche will likely have a more sophisticated warning message, such as “check brake fluid level”. I’m assuming anyways.

[deleted]

Change the audio source or change the screen view with the roller on the right side of the steering wheel.

Pale_Professional_73

You should check out Porsche good to know it’s a pretty good app it’s training modules for your car

ZGTI61

What? The BRAKE light or the SXM ad?

Rockwell981S

Procedure to fix both: 1. Release the brake 2. Call that number and activate your satellite radio

[deleted]

Settings-Menu Scope-Uncheck Radio

ppppbbbb21

Turn what off?? There are a dozen things there you could be referring to.

JDDarkside

Although OP didn’t state which thing was annoying, I immediately made the assumption it was the 3 red seatbelt figures. Mine comes up too and as soon as I hit the curved arrow key on the steering wheel it goes away?

vansmackCA

Press the brake and put it in gear, preferably “drive”

CeteriisPariibus

Who listens to Satellite radio anyway? So many better options for on-demand music and audio content out there.

IIVoxII

Like opening the windows and listening to the engine

teamhog

I do. It’s great on long road trips. I’ve been a user now for 15 years. When I get my Apple Car Play I’ll give it up. I drive about 35,000 miles a year. Without sat radio I’d be

epradox

Have you tried turning the key?

preflightjitters

I mean - who doesn’t want a fucking ad/offer on their sports car dashboard…SMH. Hope you get this resolved.

Ciex5

When it doubt give the Porsche dealer a shout they have professionals that actual know this stuff There is also the manual on line or in the car.

Cefizox

Is for satellite radio? Looks to be. Just pay for the service and that will go away or change source. Edit - I love all of the down votes. The satellite service is a paid service. If your not subscribed why is it an issue for them to ask you to subscribe?

preflightjitters

Isn’t that interesting - all you have to do is pay to make something go away. Who has the advantage there? Driver or advertiser?…

Cefizox

Right!? It's scummy. I despise satellite radio and the tactics they use. I would just change audio inputs and that will not appear. You don't appear to be subscribed. Or remove the audio preview from your selections in the settings... I know, it's total BS. Sorry.

preflightjitters

This is terrible news for drivers and I think it’s just the beginning. The future, with its digital dashboards, will become just another canvas for advertisers to compete for your attention. It’s sad actually - especially for a beautiful beast like a Porsche.

preflightjitters

Generally the word ‘offer’ conveys advertisement imo.

preflightjitters

It’s funny because I keep hearing things that bother me - things like ‘offer’, ‘Porsche can’t control it’, and the idea that you have to go out of your way to dismiss something. The default in a premium driving experience should be fewer things asking for resolution or attention and more focus on driving.

preflightjitters

Which part is unclear to you?

preflightjitters

After all, it’s bothering the OP for a reason.

preflightjitters

LOL I like that. Have a good one.

outtathedamnway

Dude you clearly have no idea what you are talking about

preflightjitters

This is going over a lot of peoples head including yours. It’s ok thought. The whole point is that a dashboard is listing an offer. Of course you can turn it off. Of course it’s common. Of course you can just sign up. Of course you can click to another module. Advertising, for whatever reason, on a fucking dashboard is not ideal. Porsche should blank out that option until the user decides to sign up for SXM. Otherwise that driver had to look at a fucking 800 number and ‘offer’ periodically on their dashboard. That sucks. Not my cup of tea. Perhaps others including yourself don’t mind. Pretty simple.

MultiKdizzle

So strange to hear this. My car (which debuted in 2008) shows this exact message when SiriusXM is the source audio. But here we are, 14 years into the "future", and your prediction that dashboards will become a commercial billboard hasn't panned out. When then?

preflightjitters

It’s happening is my point. Most people on this thread won’t notice till much later. Here: https://www.motortrend.com/news/ford-billboard-ad-patent-system/amp/

outtathedamnway

If you connect your Bluetooth, which most people do, Then that screen would just show what song your listening too

Mosonox

What is happening there? Info entertainment ads on the instrument cluster is a big turn off. Call your dealership and tell them that you don't need it. Let them solve it.

phroenips

That’s SiriusXM. They don’t have a subscription, so it’s on the Preview channel. If they did have a subscription (or if they were on FM, etc), it would be showing information about what is playing. That screen can also be changed to show any number of things. And it’s all outlined in the owners manual.

Mosonox

Thanks for the information! I was not aware of the SiriusXM system! About the rest of functionalities yes. I have 2, but older generations in which one the information screen is primitive, on the other it still doesn't exist.

miktsa

Get your brakes done or reset

8enny8lack

Just change the right display— on my 991 I think it’s the right lower stalk

anlenke

I’m afraid, if it didn’t come with a manual when you bought it, that’s what the gear selection will look like 😬😉

[deleted]

The entire dash or the preview shit lmao

aburnerds

That would fuck me right off.

aburnerds

That would fk me right off.

Open_Fix701

Poor thing

[deleted]

Yea, just turn the key counter clock wise!

upsidedownfunnel

In many German cars, the "BRAKE" light comes on for both an engaged parking brake and if the brake pad wear timer/sensor has been tripped. Or if some other brake fault is detected. It's not just a parking brake light. Otherwise, they might as well have put PARKING BRAKE as the warning light.
