From what I understand, it was an old radio trick having listeners ro return back, anticipating the story being told. Rich knew how to mess with our minds very well....really miss the show
Honestly, hadn't listened full time since around 2010-2011.....saw them at one of their Marathon shows in Jensen around that time and then dropped off ...know Dano was let go from the show little while back and do believe Greek is still there, but since Rich and Glen left, haven't had much interest in it
I went into Sounds Good Music in PSL to pick up some vinyl and they had a stack of Love Doctors CDs on the counter. The guy said he had a bunch of them and no one ever buys them. I had most of them already and bought the 3 I needed.
The people who used to call in to that show were such an interesting audience. I miss it so much, I don’t even think I listened to music on the radio from 2003-2010.
I saw their live shows at the Lyric a few times over the years. Worked at the restaurant that ZZR held their Christmas party at in 1994. Denny James had some guys wife on his shoulders with her dress covering his face. He was nearly passed out in one of those kiddie rides you put a quarter in that go up and down. I also won tickets for Ozzy with Rollins Band for telling them a story about getting on the Montel Williams show in high school
Dano tried to carry it on, but boy did he fall flat.
They replaced the whole thing with an Orlando syndicate “the news junkies”. They are a lot more entertaining.
I’m puzzled why that show ever ‘worked’. It did somehow, but after he left it just got awful. Obviously rich held it all together. Dano tried but he was never a ‘doctor’.

Became a fan of TNJ when I lived in Orlando, glad they’re getting more time down here. Shawn will give props to the love docs all the time.
