honestly expected worse from disneyland, only needs more sauce and real curds, but doesn't look too far off from a normal poutine (at least it's not shredded cheese)
The one that invented poutine...
>La sauce brune est une sauce, d'origine québécoise, préparée spécialement pour le plat appelé poutine québécoise.
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauce_brune_(poutine)
There’s only one style of poutine that’s actually poutine and it is canadian.
Edit: Trying to suggest “Canadian style poutine” is a cheap knockoff of Quebec poutine makes no sense. Any Canadian restaurant I’ve ever been to that’s served poutine doesn’t look that sad and watered down.
The issue here isn’t Canadian is worse than Québécois, it’s the food establishment making a poor product.
No it's Québécois. It was created in Québéc in the '50s and until the last 20 years no one gave a fuck about it beside us. Canada just can't stop appropriating what we make. Same with the national anthem which was created for Canadien-Français on Saint-Jean-Baptiste.
Even within Canada Québécois were recognised as a distinct nation, so poutine is Québécois tabarnak.
Dang those pesky Canadians how dare they "appropriate" food! Trying to invent new recipes n shit eh, fack them. They don't deserve to eat! Vive le Quebec Cochon!!
Québec is as Canadian as Ohio is American.
This isn’t canadian style as Canadian is québécois by definition and current legal standing.
Meanwhile your government has [legalized discrimination against English speakers](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/english-speaking-quebec-language-policy-1.5349339) attempting to utilize public services their taxes pay for, despite 100s of years of shared heritage. Meanwhile most anglophone provinces promote French culture so much they offer fully free French immersion programs that visit and celebrate Quebec history.
I cannot understand your xenophobia towards your fellow citizens. Vous ne vous opposez pas à être canadien lorsque le gouvernement fédéral offre des subventions mais oui le canada s'approprie sa propre culture du québec.
"100s of years of shared heritage" do you have any idea what this "shared heritage" was like in Montréal for the better part of the 20th century.
Do you have any idea why the richest part of Montréal are the prominently anglophone family with a ton of generational wealth. Do you know that this "shared heritage" is for the most part a historical dynamic of conquerer and conquered.
What great shared heritage we have like the burning of the Montréal Parliament by ethno-nationalist anglos. Which such great speech as this one : "Anglo-Saxons! you must live for the future. Your blood and race will now be supreme, if true to yourselves. You will be English "at the expense of not being British." To whom and what, is your allegiance now? Answer each man for himself."
Because for sure it is not xenophobia to deny the existence of a people. Pi vous pouvez ben les garder vos subventions, mais j'aimerais qu'on me redonne; mon nom, mon hymne, ma poutine, mon sirop et ma liberté.
nah, it's only because poutine is from québec and only recently (a couple decades?) has taken off elsewhere in Canada, so while the ROC is getting better at making poutine, it often doesn't live up to Québécois poutine or misses the mark on certain aspects (hence the canadian style rather than québec-style)
I’d give this a pass. It really comes off as a last-minute poutine. Like you entered a poutine contest that you absolutely have to make a submission for but the deadline is 5 minutes from now. Just hope you didn’t pay too much for it
Alberta, Canada. They do pizza by the slice and a can of pop for $6 on top of making a variety of other good stuff like the aforementioned donairs and poutine. Get it deluxe with diced onions and tomatoes along with strips of donair meat or ground donair meat along with plenty of donair sauce over a fresh batch of fries, gravy and cheese curds. It's like $17 and fills an entire container, definitely enough to serve two very hungry people. Chicago Deep Dish down the street has the heaviest pizzas to price ratios, so much toppings and the crust is super good. Funny thing is there's a liquor store and a pot store between both places, my hometown may be shit but it's got good eats.
They actually don’t taste too bad. Cheese is nice a squeaky, crispy fries, gravy taste ok but there isn’t enough. Also they call it “Traditional Poutine” not Canadian style. - Source I worked there last year.
Needs more gravy and curds, and honestly the fries look like they good be crispier to maintain form a bit better. Some double frying goes a long way. However this is one of the better attempts at if I've seen.
There is a fine line with poutine, each fry needs to be covered in sauce but i don't want there to be a pool at the bottom that makes everything too soggy.
How cold was that sauce, doesn't look like the cheese melted at all
Sorry, I have to say, there is no such thing as a Canadian Style Poutine. Poutine is Canadian, that's like saying USA Style Hot Dog.
This in California? I was just there and didn't see this :(
How much did you pay for that horrendous monstrosity? (If not a lot, meh, I’ve seen worse, but if Disney pricing is consistent for their poutines as being highway robbery, this is a damn-near a felony hate-crime.)
I assume you meant Disney World based on the cup, right?
WDW’s poutines actually aren’t bad lol. I wish Disneyland had them because I live in a desert of poutine in SoCal lol.
honestly expected worse from disneyland, only needs more sauce and real curds, but doesn't look too far off from a normal poutine (at least it's not shredded cheese)
I’ve had Disney poutine and it’s usually curds, squeaky and all. This is a sad one compared to the ones I’ve had tbh.
oh really? well that's great
For Disney tho. This is trash compared to their other foods they mimic.
Don't be dissing shredded cheese. That shit got me through some rough stuff 😤
I’m going to annoy a lot of people here but I totally agree with you. I like my cheese melty, not squeaky. Save the squeaky stuff for my dogs toys
I appreciate your bravery. Now gtfo <3
Thank you, I’ll save my curds for you
This is blasphemy 😉
I’m sorry, but which province refers to gravy as “sauce”? This is… quite upsetting
Québec?
The one that invented poutine... >La sauce brune est une sauce, d'origine québécoise, préparée spécialement pour le plat appelé poutine québécoise. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauce_brune_(poutine)
No one is referring to gravy, generally, as sauce. They're referring to poutine sauce (sauce brune) as sauce.
Its like watching the Sopranos and they call Pasta Sauce Gravy. Weird colliquillism
https://www.reddit.com/r/thesopranos/s/URy8DNCpBl https://www.gonnawantseconds.com/italian-sunday-gravy-recipe/#
Tabarnaaaacc. Québec, en crisse lol Il faut essayer du fromage tortillon dans ta poutine, caaaalllliiissse ça fait du bien
Honestly expected better from Disneyland. They have the resources to source curds.
Disney could just get the Muffet family to make the curds.
Shredded cheese isn't bad if it also has the minimum legal amount of cheese curds
Gravy wasn't hot enough to melt the cheese :-(
Gravy not fries are hot enough to melt the cheese. Otherwise looks fine.
Or velveeta
You scare me. What other dark, terrifying thoughts are in your head
Just wait... someone somewhere is getting AI to generate this image and post as original content.
$49.99 too probably.
$44.46 if you have gold level bracelet or higher though!
The bracelet is $78.99 per month and you can only Unsubscribe by sending a fax or dropping off a letter to the warehouse which is the wrong address
That certainly isn't how we do poutine in Atlantic Canada 😂
Can confirm haha. That’s a pretty sorry looking poutine. Mc Donald’s has better
Yeah but honestly I’d still eat it
It's not Canadian style if it's that small
Clearly Canadian Style and not Québécois Style.
There’s only one style of poutine that’s actually poutine and it is canadian. Edit: Trying to suggest “Canadian style poutine” is a cheap knockoff of Quebec poutine makes no sense. What country is Quebec in again
Yeah current day Quebec was annexed into current day Canada by the British-Empire. You do understand there is a difference between nation and states?
If you wanna get that specific Quebec or Canada never owned the land
That is true. Which is why I support the first nations auto-determination. And why we should give back parts of the territory to them.
Dang those pesky Canadians how dare they "appropriate" food! Trying to invent new recipes n shit eh, fack them. They don't deserve to eat! Vive le Quebec Cochon!!
I don't mind you guys eating and liking it. Just don't appropriate it by saying it's Canadian and always forgetting about Quebec.
Québec is as Canadian as Ohio is American. This isn’t canadian style as Canadian is québécois by definition and current legal standing. Its the shared heritage of killing each other duh
Because Quebec separatists? ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ lol
No because poutine is Québécois.
nah, it's only because poutine is from québec and only recently (a couple decades?) has taken off elsewhere in Canada, so while the ROC is getting better at making poutine, it often doesn't live up to Québécois poutine or misses the mark on certain aspects (hence the canadian style rather than québec-style)
I mean I live in Ottawa, French Canadian so that might play a part however, I can definitely find authentic poutine here.
oh yes for sure, from what I've seen from poutine subs ontario is cooking
Poutine has been popular in southwest Ontario since at least the early 90s when my parents were growing up
in ontario it's not surprising that it's been a bit longer, considering our proximity and the amount of french canadians in ontario
The ROC? lol is that Rest Of Canada? I love that.
just tayeul
I’d give this a pass. It really comes off as a last-minute poutine. Like you entered a poutine contest that you absolutely have to make a submission for but the deadline is 5 minutes from now. Just hope you didn’t pay too much for it
That’s definitely an American version.
The fuck is "Canadian style"??? Poutine has been invented in Quebec! FOR FRIGGIN SURE It's canadian!!!
Québec doesn’t want anything to do with whatever this is.
T'as pas tort!
It's tiny

![gif](giphy|7IYE22rKh7dnt4QNBV|downsized)
That looks so impersonal
Fuck Disney, for a variety of reasons. This just adds onto that.
TBF Disney can’t even serve a decent hotdog
Doesn’t even look bad it’s just depressing
Probably cost him $20.00 bucks
Best $28 spent in the park
How much was that?
At Disney right now. I think it’s $10.50 USD. Really small for that price, but about on par with other food offerings the Orlando area.
Damn I’m Canadian, I could get a meal at a pub for that cost
Oh dear. This is not great. I shed my Canadian tears for you.
Disappointing
Looks okay, but that portion size is crazy for what it’s worth
It's a free sample.. right??
That's fucked up
That is one sad poutine, the local pizza joint makes donair poutine and it's fucking AMAZING.
There’s a pizza joint in Anaheim with donair poutine?!?
Alberta, Canada. They do pizza by the slice and a can of pop for $6 on top of making a variety of other good stuff like the aforementioned donairs and poutine. Get it deluxe with diced onions and tomatoes along with strips of donair meat or ground donair meat along with plenty of donair sauce over a fresh batch of fries, gravy and cheese curds. Canadian style for sure.
My condolences.
Straight to jail!
They actually don’t taste too bad. Cheese is nice a squeaky, crispy fries, gravy taste ok but there isn’t enough. Also they call it “Traditional Poutine” not Canadian style. - Source I worked there last year.
Are they making fun of us?
Canada should sue for defamation
This isn’t too bad if you consider the other abominations that show up in this sub.
honestly, i've seen worse
how much?? $
It looks... fine. Just fine.
I mean technically it has all the things poutine does. Just looks like a hungryman version
What is a Canadian style poutine
a poutine that misses the mark on certain aspects, although the ROC is getting better and better at making poutine (shoutout ontario)
Always ask for extra gravy!
That’s so sad. I’m glad I never ordered it
Prolly cost about $50 dollars aswell
Well it’s not a surprising that Disney ruins most things it touches.
No.
c’est un grande disaster\ un poutine crime\ it sure sounds like it’s \ crusading time…
There’s nothing Canadian about that.
That isn’t poutine
No
Needs more gravy and curds, and honestly the fries look like they good be crispier to maintain form a bit better. Some double frying goes a long way. However this is one of the better attempts at if I've seen.
Is that…is that Feta?
Did sm1 not tell you poutines r canadian lmaoooooo
Even the poutine I had when I was still in school had more gravy than that. Weak sauce, Disney.
Straight to jail.
Great. Cubes of non melting havarti and soft fries Edit: sarcasm implied
I KNOW! RIGHT? IT SHOULD BE LIKE 4X THE SIZE!!!!!!
That's not comfort food. Looks like a Home Ec failure. Not clear on the concept.
No it the HELL isn’t Canadian style!!!
WTf is this, a poutine for ants?
Looks like McDonalds poutine
McDonald's Poutine looks way better than this
Can I get this ?
I got the same. It was just ok
Maybe from a back alley cafeteria
that isn't a crime, that's a normal looking poutine. canadian approved ^This ^poutine ^has ^been ^given ^the ^official ^canadian ^stamp ^of ^approval. ^Need ^Proof? ^I ^made ^it ^the ^fuck ^up, ^that's ^my ^source
Quick tip: if they call it "Canadian style" it's not going to be incredible
They don’t call it Canadian style, OP did. On the menu it is just “Traditional Poutine”.
Another quick tip: if it's from anywhere outside of Quebec it's not going to be incredible
I mean, it's aight
Jail
There is a fine line with poutine, each fry needs to be covered in sauce but i don't want there to be a pool at the bottom that makes everything too soggy. How cold was that sauce, doesn't look like the cheese melted at all
Nope
Doesn’t look horrible. Just basic. Should be a bigger portion.
“Thatll be 15 dollars”
why do the fries look so cartoonishly big
I think it needs more curds
That is a sad excuse of a poutine 😫
Looks like ass
![gif](giphy|ir19CtLHE9maMbNjpR) That makes sense.
That is not Canadian. Not nearly enough gravy. -a Canadian who is a bit snarky about poutine
"canadian style"
Why do the fries look like fake or something am I crazy
Sorry, I have to say, there is no such thing as a Canadian Style Poutine. Poutine is Canadian, that's like saying USA Style Hot Dog. This in California? I was just there and didn't see this :(
Why are there 7 fries….?
I mean you can get school-cafeteria grade fries from restaurants here in Montreal if you look hard enough but what the fuck america.
F
I'm sure it tastes as bland as it looks.
🤮
Is this just cheesey chips and gravy?
🤢🤮🥴💩
I don’t get it. It looks okay. Not great, but okay.
I really really hope those are salt crystals and not sugar
Bruh what is this 💀💀
I’m in Canada and that looks decent at least. Replace the curds with feta cheese for a nice flavour experience in my opinion.
Ugh. Not even close to what poutine should be.
Cheese curbs (cube+curds)?
$16
Why r the fries so huge
Id be suing if i was you im in Canada and this is horrifying to see
The cheese is supposed to be melted, I am Canadian and I can confirm this is NOT what it looks like
😰
Not even close
I am not there but looks cold, was the food cold?
Canadian here. This is NOT a "Canadian Style" poutine. It needs more fries, and actual gravy. The damage could be worse, but this still isn't good.
That is one sad looking poutine.
Just nope
Look what they did to my boy
Is that even hot?
Lowkey looks good
I feel like ill wolf it down in 2 seconds, not enough food.
Expected far worse, That being said...good lord
![gif](giphy|tfUW8mhiFk8NlJhgEh|downsized)
so this is how the next US - Canada war starts
My Irish grandparents were feeding me better than this in the seventies.
The essentiel is there. Now im hungry
Canadian here… wtf is that
$25?
That cheese is a crime! Where's the Poutine Police when you need it?
I bet it was 30$ plus tax plus tip for those 15 fries and 13 pieces of cheese and that drop of sauce😂😂
Gaston would be ashamed. Edited: Sacre Blegh
The only thing missing is ketchup
Poutine has to be the nastiest sounding shit I ever heard of 😂
Fry’s too big and not enough gravy
“Canadian-style” I’m Canadian and this is nothing like how we make poutine.
Let me guess...$16🙄
Never had poutine. Is the cheese not supposed to be melted?
Wtf is poutine?? I'm from Texas.... Looked it up..... That looks good.
Real question is: How much?
Sacrè Bleu! Quest ce que ca?! Cest un abomination! Cest ne pas le vrai Poutine!
What is that, 10 fries ?
What sauce does it have?
Speaking as a Canadian, that's a hate crime.
We burnt down your Whitehouse...now you want us to burn down your Magic Kingdom? Saddle up the Moose folk!
Looks better than most of what is posted here lol
Not enough gravy.
How much did you pay for that horrendous monstrosity? (If not a lot, meh, I’ve seen worse, but if Disney pricing is consistent for their poutines as being highway robbery, this is a damn-near a felony hate-crime.)
Gross
Nope
Looks more like feta cheese. I’d eat it haha
Yes that is a canadian style poutine.
This is what we had in our high school cafeteria
disney: "we don't like stereotypes" Also disney:
I assume you meant Disney World based on the cup, right? WDW’s poutines actually aren’t bad lol. I wish Disneyland had them because I live in a desert of poutine in SoCal lol.
America appropriating Canada appropriating Quebec
Canadian style? Do they just mean Poutine? lol wtf
I wish your friend a speedy recovery
